Played between Sanjeevani Cricket Academy and BCA, SCA winning the toss batted first scoring a healthy total of 259/3 in 40 overs. Arsh Krishnater opening the innings scored a very solid looking 114 off 125 balls (15 fours, 2 sixes) which set the tone for SCA’s innings. Apart from him, Krish (43) and Parth (60*) pushing the team to a decent total.
In reply, BCA lost the game while chasing falling short of 39 runs despite a fighting ton by Aditya who scored 101 opening the innings.

SCA dominated well on the back of their solid batting while Arsh was impressive with the way he batted. Even in the recently held match of Gokuldham High School vs Swami Vivekananda International School (Kandivali):-Gokuldham high school won by 50 runs with Arsh Krishnater being man of the match for his brillaint 84*in the Poinsur Gymkhana tournament.
A nail biting finish to an outstanding match. Put into bat HUL lost mario on the first ball. Sujay and Vijay steadied the innings to some extent and then we lost Vijay as well. Alok Rajesh and bagul and Prasad chipped with their small contribution, but batting class was displayed by Sujay who ensured HUL were cruising at a steady 7 run rate till the end. Sujay made a classy 70 with few of them going out of the ground for 6 as well. HUL made 136.
Being Cross Maidan, the ground is small and 136 was just a par score. This needed some good bowling. TATA AIG lost their 1st wicket in the first over of bagul inswinger. Mario as usual was tight with his line and length and kept getting wickets in every over. They were 4 down for 37 in 7 overs. 1st and 2nd change was brought in with Alok and Varun, though bowled good but went for few runs and wicket less. They lost couple of wickets in between but also had couple of good partnerships in between. Match which was almost in HUl control started drifting a little towards last 5/6 overs when it was almost reachable for them. Match boiled down to 36 in 4 when Nilesh and Sujay were bowling and both bowled pretty tight.
Went down to 17 in 2 and Nilesh bowled the 19th. One six plus few couple of them got them to 11 and it was 6 in 6. It was getting tense with emotions running high at both sides. We decided to fo with experience and mario decided to bowl the last over. I call it magical over. They had 3 wickets in hand. Still people cannot figure out Mario’s ball. 1st ball dot, 2nd ball bowled, 3rd ball nick and 2 runs. They needed 4 of 3. 4th ball bowled, 5th ball again nick and Sujay in the nick of the time saved and gave 2. Last ball 2 required and bowled! HUL wins by 1 run. We had a stand out batting display from Sujay and a outstanding bowling effort by mario. Both deserved the MOM, but for his crucial wickets at the right time Mario gets the well deserved mom.

He also got good support from Pratik Konkar (60 runs) as SPG declared their innings with a defendable total on the board.
Mahim Juvenile in return suffered a severe collapse as they were all out by 50 runs. All thanks to the duo of SPG’s medium pacers Likhit Kadam and Palav Dandekar. It was certainly a treat for the spectators at the Vengsarkar Academy in Mahul. Deutsche Bank batting first were in trouble at one point with their scoreboard reading 24/3 and 57/4. In came Sanket at no.6 who reminded us of every T20 batsman right from Brendon Mccullum to AB De Villiers.
Sanket completely changed the game demolishing every bowler’s bowling figures as he went heavy on bowlers right from the 1st ball. Sanket changed the game in the 2nd half as he scored a scintillating 105* facing only 33 balls laced with 8 fours and 10 sixes. It was an innings of pure belligerence and entertainment as he pushed his team to a total of 191/7 in 20 overs.
In reply JSW Steel were all out for 97 runs with Sagar Chemburkar and A Jhulka bagging 3 wkts each. Sanket also chipped in with the ball taking a wicket making it an all-round show. Deutsche Bank won the match by a big margin of 94 runs while we got to see one of the fastest T20 Hundreds in Mumbai cricket from the bat of Sanket.
Played at the Shivaji Park Ground, Ghatkoper Jolly Gymkhana batting first played really well declaring their innings at 188/3 in 53 overs. Opening the innings, promising batsman Omkar Rahate scored a solid 108* (152 balls) which set the tone for his team’s innings. Omkar batted with solid technique smashing 11 fours and 2 sixes & was looking all good to score even more than 108* had it not been a One Day match. “Omkar started off slowly but suddenly shifted gears which also included a 21 run over” from the inputs we got from opposition keeper Harmesh Somaiya.

Young Maharashtra on the other hand batted for 31 overs losing just 3 wkts before the end of the game’s play resulting in a draw. Opening the innings, left-handed wicket-keeper batsman Harmesh Somaiya brought up his 2nd half century in Kanga scoring 57 off 88 balls (4 fours, 1 six). Not many know that Harmesh is one of the hard working passionate cricketers who travels straight from Gujarat every weekend just to play kanga matches. 27yr old Harmesh works for Railways in Gujarat & also coaches young kids in his newly opened academy Harparam Sports which aims at promoting cricket to the most rural areas while also helping the talented young kids who want to play cricket. Chasing 260, National CC openers Shrideep and Jiniv gave a flying start with Shrideep playing the anchors role scoring 94 off 98 balls (10 fours, 3sixes) falling just 6 short of a deserving ton while Jiniv on the other hand was in the mood to finish of things quickly as he scored a quick 38 ball 71 (9 fours, 3 sixes). The start given by the openers was enough to win the match with ease as National CC chased down the score in 38.4 overs winning the match on 1st innings lead by 6 wkts.
Jolly Cricketers after making Islam Gymkhana bat on their own homeground were given a thrashing as they scored a healthy total of 214/4 dec in 40 overs. Despite the openers not giving a good start, it was their left-handed Aryan Bangar at no.3 who scored an impressive 84 off 110 balls (14 fours, 1 six). Aryan batted gracefully while also stitched a 145 run stand with the talented Hashir Dafedar who scored an equally impressive 78 (101 balls. 12 fours, 2 sixes). In T20’s, big hundreds played at a strike rate of 160+ can always change the game. Tons like these can single handedly help win matches and Aniket few days ago just proved how quickly a quick hundred can change a game in the shortest format.

Mahindra Logistics after electing to bat first notched up a more than decent total of 194/2 in 20 overs. Despite their openers not able to give a flying start, Aniket who came at no.3 took care of his team’s innings batting till the end smashing a gorgeous 103* off 62 balls (12 fours, 3 sixes). It was a knock which was a perfect mixture of aggression as well as composure at the crease while he also stitched a 123* run stand in mere 70 balls with Vedant Ingle who also scored a brilliant 59* (32 balls). Vedant seems to have become a t20 middle order specialist with consistent batting in T20’s.
In reply, Bank of America were all out for 98 runs as Abhay bowled an impressive spell of 4/19 in 20 overs. It was a big win by 96 runs for Mahindra Logistics where in Aniket Juvekar was declared ‘man of the match’
