When asked about the pitch condition or what was his on the back of his head while scoring runs, The modest & shy Huzefa quipped “ I simply don’t know how I scored this many runs, I am not that talented either, I just placed Allah’s photo in front of me and kept on batting, that’s what kept me going, I hardly did any practice and just played a match before this one after returning from a 40 day worship trip and now you can see the blessings of God in my performance”

Mumbai: Inter-school giants Rizvi Springfield High School, Bandra were made to struggle for runs in a low chase by RV Nerkar Secondary School, Vasai bowlers in the Boys’ U-16 quarter-final match of the Mumbai Indians Junior Cricket Tournament at Azad Maidan on Monday.

However, Rizvi middle-order batsmen showed their experience to negate a mighty scare from the inexperienced RV Nerkar bowling line-up and romp to a five-wicket win and qualify for semi-finals.

Nishit Balla who took a seven-wicket haul against Dhirubhai Ambani International School on Saturday followed up with a six-wicket haul on Monday against RV Nerkar to play a key role for Rizvi in bowling them out for 76 in 17.2 overs. Player of the Match, Balla gave away just 18 runs in his 6.2 overs and bowled three maiden overs. What’s more, Balla’s spell also included a brilliant hat-trick to further dent RV Nerkar’s innings.

The low target seemed a cakewalk for the much-fancied Rizvi batting line-up but they were made to fight for every run. Roshan Kanojia (27) and Abhishek Yadav (18) applied themselves well steer their side home in 15.4 overs after losing half of their side.
