Scoring his maiden T20 hundred is a thing of the past now, Suryakumar Yadav now lights up the tournament with a devastating hundred which was nothing but a nightmare for the DY Patil B Bowlers.
BPCL batting first lost Herwadkar early on and in came Suryakumar stitching a magnanimous partnership with opener Aakarshit Gomel turning the game in no time. Aakarshit smashed a brilliant 101 off mere 49 balls smashing 9 fours and 6 sixes while Suryakumar on the other hand was in such a freakish form that no corner of the ground looked impossible for him taking mere 63 balls to score his unbeaten 143* which had 7 fours and 14 sixes. What’s more both these players also stitched a record 214 run stand for the 2nd wicket which pushed BPCL to a massive total of 260/4 in 20 overs.

From scoring a hundred in his Ranji Debut to beginning the DY Patil T20 with a 14 ball 30, Gomel has showed many sides of himself. This 49 ball 100 not stamps that Gomel is a player who can shift gears according to the formats proving to be equally effective in the white ball format too.
