Cricket never ceases to amaze us and modern day batters have just literally upped their game. There was a time back then in the 90’s and early 2000’s, scoring even a 150 in a One Day Game was a commendable feat (no doubt, rules, conditions and many factors like cricket gear, bat size, bat thickness & ground size were quite different back then) and then came Rohit Sharma who literally defied all the odds and went on to score 274 in a 50 over game. One such player from Mumbai who has attracted attention all over is Bravish Shetty who yesterday did a similar thing in Madhav Mantri Tournament at Top Division level in Mumbai what Rohit did vs Sri Lanka a few years back at International Level.

DY Patil Sports Academy batting first on their home ground registered the highest One Day Total for this season, infact this could be one of the all time highest totals in a top division One Day Game as they notched up a massive 569/3 in 43 overs. The openers Bravish Shetty and Srujan Athawale (58 off 54 balls) gave a flying start followed by excellent support given to Bravish by skipper Hardik Tamore (65 off 41 balls) & Shubham Ranjane (73* off 30 balls). Bravish who opened the innings batted till the very end as he took on the bowlers with absolute domination covering every corner of the DY Patil University Ground as he scored an unbeaten 252* off 134 balls. Bravish smashed 16 fours & a record 21 sixes alone. Apart from Bravish, Shubham Ranjane also smashed 7 sixes as Young Comrade bowlers certainly had a difficult time to contain the DY batsman.

Young Comrade CC in reply scored 375/9 in 44 overs with opener Anish Chaudhary smashing 151 off mere 80 balls wherein he smashed 14 fours and 12 sixes. It was a brilliant display of batting by Anish to face DY bowlers and attack them on their own ground, however it was Bravish’s innings and DY’s towering total which dwarfed all the other highlights of the day as DY went on to win the match by 194 runs.
