An incredible bowling performance by the Sind bowlers saw them bowl out New Hind for 162 in the 43rd over. New Hind’s Sumit Ghadigaonkar was the lone warrior scoring 71 but due to lack of support from the other end, the batting collapsed. Hemant Buchade bowled a fine spell of 4/50. He was well supported by Puneet Tripathi and Aditya Dhumal who picked up 3 wickets each in the process. Sind SC comfortably chase down the target of 163 with 17 overs in hand losing 5 wickets.

A dominating batting display by the Payyade SC saw them win the game by a huge margin of 180. Batting first, Payyade SC set a mammoth target of 395 in 70 overs for MCA Colts to chase. Omkar Ghule (76), Atif Attarwala 76* and Prayag Bhati 76 all cashed in with half centuries in quick time. Ninad Kadam missed out on his half century by just 4 runs while all-rounder Dev Patel hammered 43 as Wicketkeeper Prasad Pawar scored 37. Ashay Dube claimed 3 wickets, so did Siddhant Singh but both were hammered for three digit figures.

MCA Colts had a mediocre outing as they were bowled out for just 395. Aryan Patni high scored with 55 while Siddhant Singh contributed 30. Unfortunately their contributions were in vain. Dev Patel, Badre Alam and Chdrumil Matkar, all claimed 3 wickets each to dismiss the Colts batsmen in the 50th over.

Shivaji Park Gymkhana were defeated by DY Patil in the Police Shield,. After electing to bat, SPG managed a total of only 137 in 50 overs. The batsmen struggled against the left-arm duo of Karsh Kothari and Iqbal Abdullah. Skipper Iqbal picked up 4 wickets while Karsh Kothari picked up 6 wickets, a crucial spell to give them the upper hand in the initial stages of the game. DY Patil made short work of the chase as the target was achieved under 30 overs. Anand Bais’ unbeaten 47 took them over the line, winning by 6 wickets.

In the second league game of the Invitational Police Shield, Parsee Gymkhana convincingly won against Islam Gymkhana by 9 wickets. After winning the toss, Islam Gymkhana elected to bat but unfortunately the Parsee bowlers were too good for them as they were bowled out for just 179 in the 53rd over. Salman Ahmed’s 46 and Dandekar’s 37 were vital but minor. Akarshit Gomel bowled a magical spell of 5/40 stunning everyone with his bowling skills as he is well known for his batting prowess.

Islam Gymkhana couldn’t put up any challenge as Parsee Gymkhana chased down the target in 35 overs. Sachin Yadav hammered an unbeaten 41 but it was Kevin Almeida’s destructive innings of 106* which sealed the game for Parsee by 9 wickets.

GPCC dominated the contest against Titans CA in the U-14 Mumbai Real Cricket Foundation Cup. After winning the toss, GPCC were restricted to 216 in 40 overs for the loss of 7 wickets. Raj Waingankar’s innings of 71 was the highlight as he single handedly took the team to a fighting total. His crucial contributions weren’t in vain as Titans CA were bowled out quickly for just 98 in the 28th over. Swapnil’s top spell of 4/18 in just 7.5 overs secured the victory for GPCC over their rivals. Despite a match winning spell, Raj was awarded the Man of the Match for his 74 ball innings.

In ongoing U-14 Mumbai Real Cricket Foundation Cup, JD Sports Academy dominated Saga CA after scoring a competitive total of 259 in just 40 overs. The innings of Shreyas Varshney (57 off 63) and Ishan Khandekar (79 off 52) for JD Sports Academy propelled their final score where the bowlers could attack. Ishan’s aggressive innings provided the required punch.

As the chase began, Harsh Nadkar stood up to the bowlers of JD Sports Academy but unfortunately he was the only one to do so. Thanks to an incredible spell by Dhrusheel Hire, Saga CA were bowled out for 161 in the 34th over itself. Hire picked up 4 wickets in his 7-over spell giving away only 19 runs and building up the pressure with 3 maiden overs as well. Ultimately, JD Sports Academy won by a margin of 98 runs as Hire was awarded the Man of the Match.

Mulund Gymkhana had a disappointing outing against MIG CC in the U-14 Mumbai Real Cricket Foundation Cup. Batting first at the Western Railway ground, the batsmen of Mulund Gymkhana were found wanting. It took the MIG bowlers only 32.2 overs to bowl them out for mere 125 runs. Shamik’s exceptional spell of 31/4 in 8 overs awarded his team an early lead in the game. 

While chasing, MIG batsmen weren’t required to break a sweat as their abled batsmen chased down the target under 17 overs losing just a wicket. Ayush Makwana hammered a quick fire fifty in 32 balls to take his team home. For giving his team the upper hand in the first innings, Shamik was awarded the Man of the Match.

Vasant Vihar school was convincingly defeated by Parle Tilak in the ongoing Haris Shield. Batting first, VVHS were bowled out for an embarrassing 107 in just over 36 overs. Balpreet Singh (43) and Shubham Sawant (42) were the major contributors in their low total. Sachirth Poojari’s incredible spell of 4/30 made sure Vasant Vihar struggled with the bat.

Parle Tilak were required to bat only once in the game as they hammered a massive total of 330 losing just 1 wicket in the process. Yashas Ganiga scored an incredible 102 but it was the breakthrough innings of Raza mirza who scored an immaculate and unbeaten 203. The openers put up a partnership of 297 runs.

Raza faced 197 balls for his 203 and was on the crease for almost 300 minutes. He scored 27 boundaries and 4 sixes in his dominating innings. Vile Parle declared at 330 in the 67th over.

Mumbai’s premier inter school cricket tournament Harris Shield is now into its league stages, The match between Al Barkaat and IES VN Sule saw a well faught draw with IES taking the first inning lead.

AL Barkaat opted to bat first and put on 236/10 after playing 68.2 overs. Tanveer Chauhan 51 (103), Agney Aadi 43 (39) and Sunny Singh 35 (34) were notable performers with the bat. For IES their spinners Aayush Patil 4-66 and Arya Gaikwad 3-80 picked up the major chunk of wickets.

The 2nd innings of the match was a tough battle between the two sides looking for a few extra points on the basis of a first innings lead. IES VN Sule got the better of AL Barkaat as they managed to put on 245/10 off 59.2 overs and surpassed AL Barkaats first innings total. Aayush Patil 62 (105) and Shreyash Lad 56 (64) who were involved in a 102 runs partnership and Yash Jadhav 50 (66) helped IES surpass the first innings total. In this close game AL Barkaats captain Saad Khan again showed his brilliance and picked 6-60 making it 20 wickets in just 3 matches for him, Mehboob Alam 4-30 also bowled well.

Batsmen Siddhesh Jadhav scored an excellent 99* for Salvi Cricket Academy against Rising Star in a T20 Tournament. Batting first, Siddhesh’s team managed a total of only 166 in 20 overs. In the process, they lost 3 wickets. Out of 166, Siddhesh Jadhav contributed 99 as he single handedly took his team to a competitive total facing 64 balls. With 10 boundaries to his name, Jadhav dominated despite his partners struggling against the bowlers. Although SCA had a good total to defend, Jadhav’s innings was in vain as Rising Star chased down the target to win the game.
