In a nail-biting thriller, Western Railways ‘B’ pipped Repro India by eight runs in the Times Shield. The two teams locked horns against each other at the Western Railways ground in Mumbai from December 27 to 29. Western Railways won the toss and elected to bat.

Batting first, Western Railways were bowled out for a paltry 160 in 44 overs. Kunal Karamchandani was the lone warrior for Western Railways as he mustered 66 off 105, including nine hits to the fence. On the other hand, Repro India’s pace sensation Sumit Markali wreaked havoc with the ball, scalping 46/5 in 18 overs, including three maidens.

In reply, Repro India were bundled out for 121 in 35.5 overs. Western Railways’ Atish Walinjkar, Jay Chauhan and Kunal Karamchandani bowled well as a unit. The trio scalped three wickets apiece. On the other hand, Repro India’s Yash Singh was the top scorer with 34 off 75, including three boundaries and a six.

Western Railways took a lead of 39 runs and added another 200 runs in 52.5 overs to set a target of 240 for Repro India. Karan Joshi (49) and Nikunj Mohite (89 not out) played brilliant knocks to take Western Railways to a commanding position. For Repro India, Yash Mahale and Yash Singh were the most successful bowlers, with four wickets each.

Repro India fought hard in response and scored 231, falling short of eight runs in the end. Harsh Salunkhe led the run chase from the front with a gritty 108 off 93. However, Harsh’s innings went in vain as he could not find able allies. On the other hand, Kunal Karamchandani was the pick of the bowlers for Western Railways, accounting for a four-wicket haul.

Aniket Verma played the innings of his life and scored a record 407 in U22 Division cricket in Bhopal. Playing or Faith Cricket Club, Verma had an dreamy outing with the bat as he contributed a whopping unbeaten 407 off 357 balls. In his unreal innings, he slammed a record 41 fours and 16 sixes, a combine count of 57 boundaries. Faith Cricket Club is from Bhopal playing against Chambal Division. 

Ankit dedicated his quadruple ton to his childhood coach Nanjeet. 

It is an unreal feeling to have score a 400 that too on your home ground. I am very grateful for my club for all the support & regular match practice that we get here. It is because of all those matches that my game has got better over the last two years. I would dedicate this innings to my childhood Coach Nandjeet sir.

The successful corporate entity namely Orange Business Solutions PVT LTD enjoyed a remarkable 2-day event at Cheda Nagar cricket ground which was organized by Cricketgraph. The employees from the Orange Business Solutions PVT LTD competed in a tennis ball cricket tournament at Chembur. 

During the game, one of the company representatives namely, Gaurav Joshi shared some kind words on the well-arranged cricket tournament.

The cricket tournament was supervised very efficiently by Cricketgraph’s team members. We had requested for the top quality and they certainly delivered it on time. I am more than satisfied with their service and everyone from the Orange Business Solutions shares the same feeling.

Orange Business Solutions had arranged for their own umpires and scorers. Apart from that, everything else was organised by Cricketgraph starting from ground booking and scheduling. Cricketgraph also provided their in-damand Cricketgraph Match Highlights wherein the games are recorded and uploaded on Cricketgraph’s YouTube channel for viewers to enjoy.

Overall, it was a successful event where the satisfied Orange Business Solutions PVT LTD enojyed their cricket tournament.

Young Comrade Cricket Club took on PJ Hindu Gymkhana during the Young Comrade Shield. The game was played from December 24 to 25. PJ Hindu Gymkhana won the toss and elected to bat.

Winning the toss and electing to bat first, PJ Hindu Gymkhana did not have the best of outings as they were bundled out for 172 in 34.2 overs. Bins Neyyonth was the only warrior in the fight as he mustered 41. On the other hand, Young Comrade Cricket Club’s Devendranath Parida wreaked havoc with the ball, scalping 56/6 and receiving good support from Sandesh Sawant, who picked 42/3.

In response, Young Comrade Cricket Club chased down the total in 35 overs and won the match by two wickets. Anish Chaudhary was at the helm of the run chase with a brilliant 60. Vedant Patil, too made a valuable contribution of 30 in the process. On the other hand, PJ Hindu Gymkhana’s Jitendra Paliwal accounted for 51/6, but his effort went in vain as none of the other bowlers could impress.

RCF Sports Club vs Bhavishya Nidhi Staff CC competed against each other in the D Division of the Times Shield. Batting first, Bhavishya Nidhi Staff managed a total of just 182 in 45 overs losing 9 wickets in the process. Opener Sanyam Jain single handedly took his team to that total as he carried his bat in the innings. Facing 124 balls on a tricky wicket, Sanyham scored 86 and batted for over two hours. His innings was the highlight of the entire game.

Set to chase a subpar total, RCF were bundled up for just 151 in the 39th over. Despite Aaryan Sen’s effort with the bat, RCF fell short of the target by 31 runs. Bhavesh Chauhan picked up 4 wickets in his crucial spell. Sanyam’s innings and Bhavesh’s spell contributed heavily to the victory of Bhavishya Nidhi Staff. 

In a low-scoring affair, Victory Cricket Club defeated Mumbai Police Gymkhana by three wickets during the Young Comrade Shield. The game was played from December 24 to 25. Victory Cricket Club won the toss and elected to field.

Put into bat first, Mumbai Police Gymkhana’s innings was done and dusted for 182 in 41.2 overs. Aarya Nikam was the lone warrior in the fight with a gritty 76. Yogesh Patil chipped in with 38 but failed to capitalise on the start. On the other hand, Victory Cricket Club’s Sachin Bhosale was the most successful bowler with 59/4.

In reply, chasing a modest 183, Victory Cricket Club overhauled the target in 36.5 overs and won the match by three wickets. Jay Bista starred with the bat scoring a stellar 92 and guiding his team to a relatively comfortable win. On the other hand, Mumbai Police Gymkhana’s Yogesh Patil was the pick of the bowlers with 58/3.

Bhatnagar S&C Foundation and Payyade Sports Club locked horns against each other during the Young Comrade Shield. The game was played from December 24 to 25. Payyade Sports Club won the toss and elected to bat.

Batting first, Payyade Sports Club piled up 251/9 in 70 overs. Prasad Pawar top-scored with 77, and Sagar Mishra (41) and Jayesh Chandankar (34) were the other major contributors with the bat. On the other hand, Bhatnagar S& C Foundation’s Ajit Yadav was the pick of the bowlers with 52/3.

Chasing a respectable score of 252, Bhatnagar S&C Foundation were bundled out for 188 in 50.1 overs and lost the match by 63 runs. Sachin Rao (51) and Aaradhya Shinde (32) fought hard but failed to see their side home. On the other hand, Payyade Sports Club’s Sagar Mishra was the most successful bowler with 55/4. Musheer Khan also bowled well and accounted for 46/3.

KSG Strikers locked horns with KSG Champs in the KSG 40-40 Cup 2022-23. Played at Payyade Cricket Ground, Strikers won the toss and elected to bat first in the finals. The tournament is created for the Kapol samaj with an aim to provide opportunity for everyone to play the beautiful game of cricket. 17 batters and more than 10 bowlers can bowl in one inning.

Strikers found themselves in trouble in the early stages of the game. Despite Akash Bhuta’s 39 ball 31, Strikers were struggling at 82 for 7 in the 21st over itself. A late fight down the order saw them make an emphatic comeback in the game. After the 21st over, the tables turned upside down as Harshit Goradia (26 off 35) formed a crucial partnership with Karan Vora (40 off 43) for the 8th wicket of 71 runs lighting a resurgent fightback.

Soon followed destructive cameos from Sitanshu Parekh and Madhav Valia propelled the target to 253 as they were bowled out in the final over. Sitanshu and Madhav played 17 balls each but the former hammered 36 and the latter 43. Their enigmatic brough the Strikers back in the game. 

After losing the momentum, KSG Champs were looking to chase down the competitive total. Opener Maulik Mehta contributed 35 off 19 balls but he was the only batsmen to pass the 25 run mark. The Champs displayed a dismal batting performance as the Strikers restricted them to just 198 in the 35th. A crucial spell by Nihar Modi saw the Strikers win the finals after a rocky start. Modi claimed 5 wickets in his 6 overs and was announced as the Man of the Match for his spirited spell.

KSG Challenegrs and KSG Superstars produced an absolute thriller in the finals of the KSG 40-40 Cup 2022-23. The Superstars won the toss and elected to set a target. The tournament is created for the Kapol samaj with an aim to provide opportunity for everyone to play the beautiful game of cricket. 17 batters and more than 10 bowlers can bowl in one inning.

In 40 overs of their batting, KSG Superstars managed a total of 304 runs losing 13 wickets in the process. Opener Rahul Mehta started off with 43 runs to his name off 59 balls as one down batsmen Nirlap Vora chipped in 31, so did Sandeep Gandhi scoring 30 off 32 balls. It was Karan Mody’s spirited innings off 49 off 30 which gave them the required boost. Karan smashed 2 four and 5 massive sixes. 

On the bowling side, Jeet Mathuria claimed picked up 3 wickets but was expensive at an economy of 8.3 runs. Amit Goradia bowled exceptionally well as he bowled at an economy of 4.5 on his 6 overs, picking 2 wickets as well. Another economical bowler was Tapan Mehta. 

With a massive target on board, the Challengers set off to chase it down. Opener Bhavin Sanghavi played a crucial knock of 67 runs off 63 balls, carrying the team as it failed from the other end. When Bhavin’s defense fell in the 24th over, Challengers had lost 9 wickets for just 149. Meet Mehta brought them back in the game by scoring a quick-fire 49 off just 31 balls with 5 fours and 2 sixes. He was followed by the likes of Jigar Parekh (26 off 15) and Jeet Mathuria (33 off 29) who made sure the Challengers were in the hunt. 

After the fall of their wicket, Kalpesh Vora’s 17 ball 29 took the game to the last over of the game where the Superstars were to defend 15 runs in the final over. Vora was stranded on the other end as the final batsman walked in. Unfortunately, the fairytale ending for the Challengers never came into reality as Superstars picked a wicket on the final ball when they required 5 off the final ball. 

The KSG Superstars won the final as Karan Mody was named the Man of The Match after a dramatic game of cricket.

Parsee Gymkhana and National Cricket Club clashed against each other during the Young Comrade Shield. The game was played from December 24 to 25. National Cricket Club won the toss and elected to bat.

Riding on Aaditya Srivastava’s delightful century, National Cricket Club posted a fighting total of 325/3 in 70 overs. Srivastava hammered 155 and found able allies in Swapnil Pradhan (90 not out) and Vaishnav Narvekar (33). National Cricket Club’s batters had a good day at the office. On the other hand, Parsee Gymkhana’s bowlers failed to impress.

In response, Parsee Gymkhana cruised to the target in 48.2 overs and won the match by six wickets. Nikhil Patil made light work of the run chase with his undefeated 128. Nutan Goel (70), Sachin Yadav (48), and Kevin Almeida (39) chipped in with useful contributions and saw their side home. Unlike their batters, National Cricket Club’s bowlers had a forgetful outing as they could not defend a competitive score.
