On January 14, A1 Cricket Club handed a crushing 96-run defeat to RCC Avengers during the Champions League 2023. A1 Cricket Club won the toss and elected to bat at the Roadpali Sports Complex in Panvel.
Riding on captain Niraj J’s and Mayank Ranjan’s stellar half-centuries, A1 Cricket Club piled up a mammoth 186/3 in 20 overs. While Neeraj muscled an unbeaten 73 off 62, Mayank blasted 78 off 46. The duo hit as many as 21 boundaries and one six between them. For RCC Avengers, Gorakhnath Hipparakar was the lone wicket-taker with 20/3 in four overs.
In response, RCC Avengers were skittled for a paltry score of 90 in 13.2 overs to lose the match by 96 runs. Kartik Chikhale top-scored with a 16-ball 18, including four boundaries. For A1 Cricket Club, Tejas Salian wreaked havoc with the ball as he scalped 2/5 in 2.2 overs.
On January 14, RCC Warriors took on RCC Rangers during the Champions League 2023 at the Roadpali Sports Complex in Panvel. RCC Warriors won the toss and elected to field.
Invited to bat first, RCC Rangers posted a challenging score of 167/6 in 20 overs. Shrikant Kothawale (57) and Haresh Nikhare (57) starred with the bat for RCC Rangers. The duo put together 101 runs for the third wicket and powered their team to a formidable total. For RCC Warriors’ Vighnesh Worlikar was the pick of the bowlers with 19/2 in two overs.
In reply, RCC Warriors overhauled the target in 18.2 overs and won the match by five wickets. Tajinder Singh led the run chase from the front with an undefeated 47 off 25, including six fours and two sixes. Viraj Chavan was the most successful bowler for RCC Rangers, with 43/2 in four overs.
In the quarter-final of Young Comrade Shield, Khar Gymkhana locked horns against Sind Sports Club on January 14 and 15. Khar Gymkhana won the toss and elected to bat.
Batting first, Khar Gymkhana posted a mammoth 336 in 67.5 overs, thanks to Parag Khanapurkar’s stellar century. Hiken Shah was the other major contributor with the bat for Khar Gymkhana, with a scintillating 88. Ajay Mishra (37) and Rohit Shukla (34) too chipped in with useful contributions. On the other hand, Sind Sports Club’s Puneet Tripathi wreaked havoc with the ball, scalping 135/5.
In reply, Sind Sports Club were skittled out for a paltry 164 in 45.1 overs, and they lost the match by 172 runs. Satyalaksh Jain fought hard for his 47 but failed to take Sind Sports Club closer to the target. On the other hand, Khar Gymkhana’s Rohit Shukla (24/4) and Ajay Mishra (48/3) were impressive with the ball.
Cricket Club of India (CCI) took on Muslim United Sports Club on January 14 and 15 during the Young Comrade Shield. Muslim United Sports Club won the toss and elected to bat.
Batting first, Muslim United Sports Club were bundled out for a humble 195 in 58.5 overs. Dhruv Thakkar was the lone warrior in the fight for Muslim United Sports Club as he top-scored with 79. On the other hand, CCI’s Vaibhav Mali and Sanket Yashwante were the most successful bowlers with three wickets each.
In reply, CCI completed the formalities in 39 overs and won the match by five wickets. Aarya Satpute led the run chase from the front with an unbeaten 79 and received good support from Akash Parkar (52). For Muslim United Sports Club, Pushkaraj Chavan was the pick of the bowlers with 76/3.
Dr. D.Y. Patil Sports Academy and Parsee Gymkhana clashed against each other during the Young Comrade Shield on January 14 and 15. Dr. D.Y. Patil Sports Academy won the toss and elected to field.
Put into bat first, Parsee Gymkhana were bowled out for 256 in 58 overs. Parsee Gymkhana’s Sachin Yadav top-scored with an unbeaten 80 and found able allies in Nutan Goel (45) and Jay Dhatrak (41). On the other hand, Dr. D.Y. Patil Sports Academy’s Prashant Bhoir and Karsh Kothari were the wreckers-in-chief with the ball as they claimed four scalps apiece.
In response, Dr. D.Y. Patil Sports Academy completed the formalities in 53.4 overs and won the match by three wickets. Aman Khan led the run chase from the front with a brilliant 72. Anandsingh Bais (67), Yogesh Takawale (44), and Iqbal Abdullah (31 not out) chipped in with valuable contributions. On the other hand, Parsee Gymkhana’sSagar Udeshi was the pick of the bowlers with 77/3.
Riding on Om Keshkamat’s delightful century, MIG Cricket Club pipped Parel Sporting Club by seven wickets during their Young Comrade Shield clash on January 14 and 15. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Parel Sporting Club posted a challenging total of 334/7 in 70 overs. Aman Jain top-scored with 83 and Usaid Cutlerywala (69) and Naman Jhawar (69 not out) chipped in with useful contributions. On the other hand, MIG Cricket Club’s Shivam Dube was the pick of the bowlers with 29/3.
In reply, MIG Cricket Club overhauled the target in 52 overs. Besides Keshkamat’s power-packed innings of 104 not out, Pragnesh Kanpillewar (78) and Gaurav Jathar (72 not out) made their presence felt in the run chase. The trio steered MIG to a comfortable win. On the other hand, Parel Sporting Club’s bowlers had an off day at the office.
In a lopsided affair, Mahindra Logistics handed a crushing nine-wicket defeat to IPCA Sports Club during the Times Shield ‘D’ division match on January 14. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, IPCA were bowled out for a paltry 52 in 21.5 overs. Amey Mayekar top-scored with 14 off 21, including a couple of hits to the fence. For Mahindra Logistics, Abhishek Pandey wreaked havoc with the ball, picking up 8/5 in 7.5 overs, including three maidens. Parth Rai bowled well in tandem with Pandey and claimed 23/4 in seven overs.
In reply, Mahindra Logistics made light work of the run chase as they completed the formalities in 11.1 overs. They won the match by nine wickets. Sarvesh Shiralkar led the run chase from the front with a 38-ball 23, hitting two boundaries. Kushal Dawane (18 not out) and Ihsaan Amin (10 not out) guided their team to a comfortable win. For IPCA, Sushant Bagul was the lone wicket-taker with 10/1 in one over.
Young Muslim Sports Club and Friends Sports Club locked horns against each other during the Seth Gordhandas Shield. The match was played on January 15 at Sainath, Virar. Young Muslim Sports Club won the toss and elected to bat.
Batting first, Young Muslim Sports Club posted a fighting total of 166/6 in 20 overs. Imtiaz Khan top-scored with a 48-ball 55, hitting six boundaries and three sixes. Opening batter Vinit Mestry (46) earlier in the innings provided an excellent start to Young Muslim Sports Club when they were losing wickets from the other end. On the other hand, Friends Sports Club’s Rohan Kanwar was the pick of the bowlers with 36/2 in four overs.
In reply, Friends Sports Club were bowled out for a paltry 54 in 13.5 overs, and they lost the match by 112 runs. Raj Mallik (15) was the only batter from Friends Sports Club to score in double digits. On the other hand, Young Muslim Sports Club’s Sandeep Yadav wreaked havoc with the ball, claiming 22/4 in four overs. Prathamesh Golatkar (11/3) and Sandeep Naik (15/2) were the other wicket-takers for Young Muslim Sports Club.
PAB CC convincingly won against GPCC in the ongoing M.D Memorial Cup 2023. Batting first, PAB set an imposing total of 178 in 20 overs losing only 5 wickets. Opener Harsh Kadam high-scored in the game with 84 runs to his name in just 52 balls. His innings comprised of 17 boundaries with a strike rate of 161.54. He was well supported by Ajay Pal who chipped in a handy 33-ball 54. Together, they formed a partnership of 105 for the 3rd wicket. Aditya Pandey bowled an economical spell of 24/2 at a rate of 6 in his 4 overs despite his peers going expensive.
In reply, GPCC could manage only 123. Ankit Mhatre score 35 but in vain. A magical spell from the captain Darshan Rathod obliterated the GPCC batting unit. In his 4 overs, he claimed 4 wickets of the top order batsmen conceding mere 6 runs at an incredible economy rate of 1.50. Yaksh Salvi and Rancho Terve claimed 2 wickets each to support their cause.
For his blistering innings, Harsh Kadam was named the Man of the Match.

In the ongoing M.D Memorial Cup 2023 Tournament by GPCC, the hosts played Don Bosco CA and prevailed in a dominating fashion on a torrid wicket at Cross Maidan. After batting first, GPCC posed a subpar total of 127 in 20 overs. After a slow start to the innings, Aarush Khole’s 31-ball 59 helped GPCC push the total. Comprising of 7 fours and a six, Khole’s standalone innings was the difference maker. Despite restricting GPCC to just over 120, Don Bosco claimed only 4 wickets, 2 with the ball and 2 in form of the run outs. Aarav Khatu was the only bowler to claim wickets from the bowling side.
After an average show with the bat, GPCC were determined to outplay Don Bosco in the second innings. For Don Bosco, skipper Swanand Palav put up 26 with the bat but yielding nothing as they were bowled out for just 78. Apart from him, no other batsmen scored in double digits. Aditya Pandey bowled an incredible spell of 3/13 in 4 overs but Nikhil Gurav’s spell of 4/11 in 4 overs sealed the game for GPCC by 49 runs.
Nikhil Gurav from GPCC was named the Man of the Match.
