Yet another glorious chapter has been written within the Kapol community and the curtains were drawn on 29th March 2015. On this day was the finals between KSG Superiors and Brahman samaj.
Opting to bat after winning the toss, Brahman Samaj did not find it easy against a discliplined KSG Superiors bowling attack. Bowlers generally hunt in Pairs and do did the 2 Umangs (Umang seth and Umang Shah) by picking 2 wickets each.Deepak valia,Viren Mehta,Harshit Goradia shared a wicket each to make a excellent bowling effort for KSG Superiors. One man stood amongst the ruins for Brahman samaj was karan Joshi who’s knock of 40 runs salvaged some pride. With Mehul Trivedi and Manu vyas chipping in with 15 runs and 17 runs by Krish Trivedi, 118 in 20 overs was not going be a challenging target for KSG Superiors.

Amar Bhuta’ s 49 ( with 5 sixes) and Maulik Mehta’s 47 with 7 boundaries and 2 sixes sumed up the day for KSG Superiors. Umesh upadhay’s 2 wickets and 1 each from yashasvi and karan could not stop KSG Superiors. They won by 6 wickets.
Its rightly analysed that cricket is not just a sport in India, its a religion that binds one and all. Eventually the Kapol community too emerged as Winners.
KSG Superiors have their name written in the 2015 edition while the consolation honour went to Karan Joshi’s all round effort of Brahman Samaj.
In a true sportsmans spirit of Kaploe T20 cup, man of the match was awarded to Karan Joshi from Brahman Samaj.

The finals of any cricket tournament means two very good teams get a chance and opportunity to display their skills and character over each other. It certainly is a test of their nerves and one mistake or brilliance can win them the title or cost the cup.
Well Bombay Borings and SMG Convonix met at the finals of the Super Bowl 2015 at Dadar Union ground on a flat pitch. The morning was cloudy and it was a good toss to win by the captain of Bombay Borings Lokjeet who had no hesitation to bowl first to make use of the weather conditions. Opener Vinayak of SMG Convonix began the proceedings with 2 Perfect copy book cover drives in the first two balls to give his team a rousing start. But Bombay Borings bowlers struck to a steady line and length and took control of the situation. SMG Convonix slowly began to lose the plot. But then in came the skipper of SMG Convonix Paul Jadhav to first steady the ship and was playing a waiting game. With the score reading at 65 in 13 overs, he broke the shackles and the next 2 overs fetched 33 runs. Paul made 54 with 8 hits to the fence and ably supported by Shiva who made 26 ( one six and two fours). It was an excellent team effort from Bombay Borings bowlers at the death restricting SMG Convonix to 138 runs in 20 overs. Yatesh was most successful with 2 wickets, and one each for Raj, Surendra, Jitendra, and Shabbir.
The initial overs was most likely going to determine the final outcome of the match and it was the openers of Bombay Borings giving their team a good start. Sankalp Pendnekar was on song right from the word go. The stocky batsman packs a punch when he hits and was there to see as he did not allow the SMG Convonix bowlers to settle. (Nine fours and three powerful sixes) by Sankalp put his team on the way and was well supported by Praveen who finished with 24 NO. Sushant hit the winning runs with a flick like the batsman from West indies of yesteryears and Bombay Borings emerged winners by 8 wickets. Swapnil and HP picked up one wicket each for SMG Convonix.

It was a match Bombay Borings did almost everything right. Not just played good cricket but also the atmosphere in their dressing room was full of energy and enthusiasm. The team was led and marshaled well by Lokjeet who was all smiles while lifting the winners trophy. SMG Convonix lost to a better team.
The only unfinished agenda for Bombay Borings was as to where to celebrate their victory.
Man of the Match : Sankalp Pendnekar for his knock of 68 runs.
Umpires for the Match ; Mr. Ashok Yadav and Mr.Zabiullah.
Thus concluded the 4th edition of Super Bowl Corporate Cricket tournament organised by One World of Sport. This year saw a participation of 12 teams and surely the event will see more teams from the next year. Another feather in the cap for the organizers. Well done!

The rest of the proceedings was dominated by JP IBTech. Match 1: Aakaar defeats HMV in a tricky chase
HMV won the toss and elected to bat against Aakaar. Riding on Bobby’s quickfire 51 off 34 balls and healthy contributions from Pradeep &Hardeep, HMV scored a decent 141 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Aakaar’s bowlers Naresh and Suraj returned with identical figures of 2 wickets each for 35 runs.
Half of Aakaar’s team was back in the hut with just 52 runs on the board in the eighth over. With the fall of Naresh at the score of 88 in the 14th over, HMV would have believed that they could defend their modest total. But Rohit (32*) and No. 8 Ankit (27*) ensured that Aakar chased down the total with 3 balls to spare. Naresh, for his all-round effort bagged the man of the match trophy.
Brief Scores:
HMV: 141/6 in 20 overs (Bobby-51, Pradeep -35, Hardeep- 34, Naresh: 2/35, Suraj: 2/35)
Aakaar: 142/6 in 19.3 overs (Rohit-32*, Ankit-27*, Hardeep: 2/20, Mahul: 2/27)
Aakaar won by 4 wickets
Match 2: CCPL wins over Pearson Strikers
Pearson Strikers won the toss and elected to field against CCPL. In an all-round batting effort, CCPL managed 208 runs for the loss of 4 wickets with contributions from Aradhya (49*), Nimish (35), Jogender (34) and Ayush (29). Pearson bowlers were nowhere close to maintaining their line as extra runs amounted to 40. Only Salil could return with respectable figures of 2/25.
If Pearson’s bowlers’ day was forgettable then the batsmen were no different. They showed no intent or application while chasing a big total and were bundled out for merely 76 runs in 11.3 overs. Opener Ravi Khurana managed to score 37 but rest of the batting collapsed. For CCPL, Ankit was the pick of the bowlers bagging 3 wickets and giving away just 18 runs in his quota of 4 overs. Aradhya, for his well-made 49* received the man of the match award.
Brief Scores:
CCPL: 208/4 in 20 overs (Aradhya-49*, Nimish-35, Salil: 2/25)
PS: 76 all out in 11.3 overs (Ravi-37, Ankit: 3/18, Aman 2/0)
CCPL won by 132 run
Match 3: Omkar spins UFC to victory over Nokia
UFC won the toss and decided to set a target for Nokia in the third and final match of the day. They managed to score 167 runs in their stipulated 20 overs, losing 8 wickets in the process. Nikhil retired hurt after top scoring with 39 runs. Munish contributed with fine knock of 35. Nokia bowler Himanshu gave away 41 runs for his 3 scalps in his quota of 4 overs.
Nokia batsmen did not apply themselves in what was a quite achievable total. They kept losing wickets at regular intervals and finally folded for 109 inside 16 overs. It was UFC Spinner Omkar who made the batsmen danced to his tune with 4 wickets in his 4 overs and giving away just 23 runs. Nokia batsman sagar top scored with 26. For his excellent bowling, Omkar was adjudged man of the match.
Brief Score:
UFC: 167/8 in 20 overs (Nikhil- 39*, Munish- 35, Himanshu: 3/41, Jitender: 2/14)
Nokia: 109 all out in 15.4 overs (Sagar-26, Omkar: 4/23, Walli: 2/13)
UFC won by 58 runs

SSCBS, riding on their winning streak and surprising all by entering the league stage of the prestigious DU Inter College tournament were comprehensively beaten by Aryabhatta College in their first group match.
Aryabhatta went in to bat first on a flat pitch. An aggressive 73 ball 100 from Rajesh and a superb 20 ball 46 from captain Pulkit ensured that Aryabhatta were never lagging behind in their run rate and eventually scored 272 runs in their allotted 40 overs for the loss of 8 wickets. SSCBS captain Nikhil Yadav struck gold with the ball, capturing 5 wickets in his 8 overs but most of his wickets came towards the end of the innings when bulk of the scoring had already been done.
Many would have given SSCBS a chance considering their strong batting line up, but the final score line suggest that it was too high a mountain to climb. SSCBS folded for 76 runs inside 22 overs with no batsman scoring anything worth mentioning. They lost wickets at quick and regular intervals and thus never looked like even getting closer to the target. Shivankand Aryabhatta captain Pulkit shared the honors in bowling, capturing 3 wickets each.
SSCBS find themselves in deep waters now with only a few matches to play in the group stage and a significant amount of net run rate to cover. Things will not get easier for them with the strong Khalsa team in their group. But as they say, cricket is a game of uncertainties. On the other hand, Aryabhatta will look to consolidate their position with another win in their next game. They carry a lot of confidence and a very healthy net run rate with them for the remainder of the matches.

The second edition of Synergy Sports T20 Blast received a ceremonious opening with a pre match cake cutting ceremony followed by a one sided victory for Fledge Cricket Club over RBS Rockers. It was a sunny afternoon and the match was played on a hard surface cited excellent for batting. RBS Rockers won the toss and sent FCC to set them a target.
FCC openers Abhinav Duggal and Neeraj Sehgal smacked RBS bowlers to all corners of the ground in a record opening stand that lasted for 17 overs. Abhinav thrashed RBS bowler Faizan Ahmed for 22 runs with 2 sixes and 2 fours in his only over. The partnership was finally broken when Abhinav was run out by Naveen Dagar for an excellent 65 (40 balls, 9×4, 2×6). Neeraj Sehgal was called off the field by captain Manik when he was batting on 118 (65 balls, 23×4) to give few balls to the rest of the batsman. FCC finally scored a whopping 238 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. RBS bowlers had a rough day with only Sumit managing to pick up a wicket. The dropped catches only made matters worse for the fielding side.
RBS Rockers were never in the hunt during any part of their innings that finally folded for a paltry 105 inside 16 overs. Only three batsmen could enter double digits with opener Vijay Moorthy top scoring with 27 (20 balls, 4×4). It was a combined bowling effort from FCC with 3 bowlers sharing 2 wickets each and 2 bowlers picking up a wicket each. Neeraj Sehgal (Man of the Match) took away the man of the match and best batsman of the day trophies for his scintillating knock while Neeraj Puri walked away with the best bowler title. Abhinav Duggal was adjudged best fielder of the day.
It would not be an overestimation to say that the inaugural match of the tournament was completely ruled by Fledge Cricket Club. RBS now have a challenge to win their remaining matches by a big margin to cover up their Net Run Rate; else it could be curtains for them soon.
Brief Score: FCC: 238/3 in 20 overs (Neeraj Sehgal 118, Abhinav Duggal 65; Sumit 1/45)
RBS Rockers 105 all out in 16 overs (Vijay Moorthy 27; Neeraj Puri 2/9, Gurudit Singh 2/12)
