Vishal Ruparel’s four wicket haul enabled L&T Infotech to defend a low total of 116 runs against Insta World Wide and lift the Dreamz Challenger Trophy. Earlier when batsmen failed to put up a good total on the board L&T were nowhere in the game at the end of first innings. But a superb bowling show led by Vishal helped them restrict the opposition to 98 and win by 18 runs.

L&T won the toss and elected to bat first. It did not prove to be a good decision as after the opening pair fell, no one gave importance to stay at the innings as half the team was back in the hut at the score of 42. Captain Ajit nair played a quick cameo of 20 from just 10 balls but could not continue for long. It was only due to Ameya Joshi’s sensible knock of 39 that L&T were able to cross the 100 run mark but were eventually all out for 116 in the 19th over. No batsman from lower order could give him support to last the full 20 overs.
For Insta World Wide, Kunal patil captured 3 wickets while Dhiraj scalped 2. Bharat and kalpesh managed a wicket each.

Chasing a rather low total to win the match and the tournament, Insta lost opener Devendra for a duck on the fourth ball of the innings. Second wicket fell on the score of 17. Aniket (37) and Kalpesh (16) steadied the chase with 41 runs partnership but when their partnership was broken at the score of 58, Insta lost their way. They lost wickets in a heap and were all out for 98 handing L&T a victory by 18 runs. Vishal was the chief culprit bagging 4 wickets while Faizan scalped 2.
Following awards were given at the presentation ceremony:
Best Batsman – Devendra Mayekar (Insta World Wide Team)
Best Bowler – Dhiraj Raut (Insta World Wide Team)
MOM – Vishal Ruparel (L&T Infotech)
Man of the Series – Shivram Krishnan (L&T Infotech)

A superb all round bowling performance guided by Abhay and some sensible batting from Bhaskar enabled VideoCon General Insurance get past Mahindra Finance to emerge as champions of Dreamz Challenger Trophy Plate B Division.

Mahindra Finance won the toss and decided to bat first. They were off to a decent star with openers Hrishikesh and Brahma Kumar scoring 24 runs in 4.4 overs. But once their partnership was broken, Mahindra Finance were on the back foot as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Their batsmen were also not able to score freely and consumed more balls than runs scored.

This is precisely the reason why Mahindra ended for a score less than 100 even after playing their full quota of overs and losing just 6 wickets in total. Five of the top six batsmen went into double figures but none could carry on and increase the run rate. They eventually ended for 92 runs.
All Videocon bowlers bowled brilliantly and went for less than run a ball. Abhay managed 3 wickets while Mandar, Rahul and Amol picked up a wicket each.

In reply, Videcon made a bit of mess of their chase as they lost their top three batsmen with 43 runs on the board in the 9th over. A couple of wickets more and it could have been anyone’s game. But the pair of Bhaskar and Amol stitched a partnership together and ensured no chance for Mahindra. On the score of 75, Amol and Mandar were run out within space of three balls. But Bhaskar and Chetan played sensibly and took their team over the line. Bhaskar remained unbeaten on 35 from 49 balls.

Mahindra bowlers bowled well but the score was too less to have been practically defended. A bit of luck and who knows they would have done the unthinkable. Apart from three run outs, Sandeep and Deepak picked up a wicket each.
Following awards were given at the presentation ceremony:
Best Batsman – Brahmakumar Dubey (Mahindra Finance Team)
Best Bowler – Rakesh Kaul (Liberty Videocon Team)

Man of the Match – Bhaskar Nar (Liberty Videocon Team)
Man of the Series – Amol Pawar (Liberty Videocon Team)
Brief Scores:
Mahindra Finance: 92/6 in 20 overs (Deepak 19, Nilesh 16, Abhay 3/23)
Videocon: 95/5 in 18.2 overs (Bhaskar 35*, Amol 21, Deepak 1/12)

A combined team performance enabled Star TV to win the third title of the season – The Dreamz Champions Trophy Regular Plate A title by defeating Societe Generale by 6 wickets.

Star Tv were lucky with the coin and opted to field first after winning the toss. Throughout the innings they were able to contain the batsmen with a very tight line and length. This is evident from the fact that Societe openers Pratik and Nitin scored well below run a ball and were unable to cut loose.

It was Viraj’s run a ball 37 that enabled Societe Generale to cross the 100 run mark. Openers Pratik scored 15 from 32 balls while Nitin managed 19 off 26. There were 3 run outs in the innings as well. But not a single batsman could increase the tempo of the innings as they ended for mere 109 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Gaurav, Pritesh and Nitin from Star managed a wicket each for their team.

In reply, Star were off to a worst possible start as by the 7th ball, both the openers Rajendra and Mandar were back in the pavilion. Then Jatin (29) and Pritesh (15) did some repair work and crossed the 50 mark for their team. At the score of 53, both lost their wickets leaving the game in balance and a slight chance for Societe Generale to return into the match.
But next two batsmen Rajesh and Randhir had other plans as they displayed some sensible batting to take their team over the line with a brilliant 57 run partnership. Rajesh remained not out on 23 while Randhir made an unbeaten 29. Four bowlers from Societe Generale managed a wicket each.

Following awards were given at the presentation ceremony:
Man of the Match: Randhir Deo (Star TV)
Man of the Series: Pratik Bhale (Societe Generale)
Best Batsman: Nitin Verma (Societe Generale)
Best Bowler: Rajesh Naik (Star TV)
Brief Scores:
Societe Generale: 109/6 in 20 overs (Viraj 37, Nitin 19, Pritesh 1/9, Nitin 1/10)
