With the help fine 203 runs partnership for the 2nd wkts in 25.2 overs between veteran Sandeep Sharma (134, 20×4 3×6 b100) and Tanmay Srivastava  ( 97 , 10×4 2×6) ONGC move into the final of the 42nd All India Goswami Ganesh Dutt Memorial Cricket Tournament 2015 as they defeated Food Corp. Of India by 2 wkts in the nail biting semi-final match.

Traditional rivals Air India and ONGC will meet again after four years in the final which will be played on June 14, 2015(Sunday) at Ferozshah Kotla Ground, Delhi.

Today ONGC skipper Suhail Sharma won the toss and invited FCI to bat first. FCI scored a huge total of 323 runs in 40 overs by losing 8 wkts with the help of fine batting by  skipper Chetan Sharma  who scored 100 runs with the help of 13×4 2×6 in 81 balls and Mayank Tehlan ( 58 , 7×4 b 61). Both the batsman put on 166 runs for the first wkt in 22.2 overs. Paras Dogra scored 49 runs with 3×4 2×6 in 34 balls. Umang Sharma scored 29, and Vijay Chaudhary scored 22, and Rajinder Bisht not out with 20. Medium pacer Sumit Narwal again shone with the balls and took 5 wkts for 69 runs. Birender Singh and Gaurav Tomar took 1-1 wkts each.

In reply ONGC lost the first wkts at 32 of Samarth Singh (13) at 32 but veteran Sandeep Sharma and U.P. Ranji player Tanmay Srivastava played a superb innings and put on 202 runs for the 2nd wickets in 25.2 overs. Sandeep Sharma scored 134 runs with the help of 20×4, 3×6 in 100 balls and Tanmay Srivastava scored 97 runs with 10×4 2×6 in 77 balls. Later Gaurav Tomar (20 3×6 in 8 balls), Radhey Shyam Gupta ( 28 not out 1×4 2×6 in 14 balls) helped their team to reach the target of 324 runs in 39.4 overs by losing 8 wkts. Off spinner Pulkit Narang bowled well for FCI and took 4 wkts for 52 runs in 9.4 overs. , Nikhil, Rajinder Bisht, Arjun Gupta and Vinay Chaudhary took 1-1 wkts each.

Today Air India skipper Rahul Yadav won the toss and invited Telefunken C.C. to bat first. Telefunken C.C. started their inning very badly as they lost 4 main batsmen Pradeep Sharma (2), Gaurav Kocher (0) Prashant Bhandari (0) and skipper Vikas Singh (0) when the score was 25 in 6.2 overs. Thereafter Sunny Singh and Yogesh Nagar played a good innings and had a partnership of 88 runs for the 5th wkt in 14.2 over. Yogesh Nagar was out as 5th batsmen after scoring 49 runs with 6×4 1×6 in 59 balls. After the departure of Yogesh, Ankit Maini was out very next ball as lbw off Ronak Sharma for 00.

Then Sunny and Deepak Khatri took the side score to 156 when Sunny was stump by Rahul Yadav off Ronak Sharma for 68 (6×4, 1×6 b74). Telefunken was all out for 190 runs in 34.3 overs. Riding on Vathsal Sharma’s 61 and Sanat Sangwan’s 53, followed by Loveneet Singh’s 3 wickets , Sonnet Cricket Club defeated Sahil Cricket Academy by 22 runs in the final to emerge champions of Global Opportunities Cricket Cup.

Batting first, Sonnet put up a total of 192 runs on the board courtesy Vathsal and Sanat’s half centuries. In reply, Abhinav Tejrana from Sahil Academy played an excellent knock of 74 runs but could not prevent a loss for his team as they were bundled out for just 170 runs thereby losing the match by 22 runs. Loveneet Singh captured 3 wickets giving away just 8 runs.

Riding on Ompal Bokan’s 68 and Amarender Singh’s quick fire 14 ball 34, KN Colts defeated Air India by 14 runs to enter the quarter finals of 39th Lala Raghuvir Singh Hot Weather Cricket Tournament.

Batting first KN Colts scored 243 runs courtesy Ompal and Amarender’s innings. In reply, Himanshu Asnora scored 68 runs but was unable to cross the line for his team as Air India could score only 229 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in their allotted 40 overs.

Today Madras Cricket Club skipper Pardeep Sahoo won the toss and decided to bat first. Madras Cricket Club piled up a good total of 267 for 9 in 40 overs with the help of fine century by Unmukt Chand who scored 116 runs with the help of 13×4 4×6 in 103 balls.  Rajesh Sharma 35, ( 5×4 balls 42), Pardeep 38 ( 5×4 b26) and Kuldeep Hooda 21 ( 3×4 b21),  medium pace bowler and skipper Sumit Narwal bowled well and took 4 wkts for 59 runs in 10 overs. Birender Singh other pacer took 2 wkts for 47 runs. Left arm spinner Vishal Chaudhary took 3 wkts for 47 runs for ONGC.

In reply ONGC scored the needed 268 runs in 37.5 overs by losing 6 wkts with the help of hard hitting innings of young Gaurav Tomar who scored 54 runs with 5×4 4×6 in just 23 balls. And patience and good batting by Radhey Shyam Gupta who scored 54 runs with 6×4 2×6 in 38 balls. And Tanmay Srivastava 50 (4×4 b68) and also Samarth Singh 44 (7×4 b45). At one stage they were 135 for 3 in 25 overs. Gaurav Tomar was the main hero of ONGC innings. Radhey Shyam and Gaurav Tomar put on 78 runs for the 5th wkts in 5.5 overs and helped their side to reach the target easily. Left arm spinner Pawan Negi took 2 wkts for 53 runs. Kishan Pal took 1 wkt for 34 runs. And off spinner Vibhor Aggarwal took 2 wkts for 49 runs. Pardeep Sahoo took 1 wkts for 64 runs.

Now ONGC will meet FCI in semi-final on June 12.

In the semi-final of First Achievers Cup Under 16 tournament, Delhi Wonders Cricket Club defeated Hansraj Model School Punjabi Bagh by 7 wickets and entered the finale.

Batting first, Hansraj School put up a total of 169 runs on the board courtesy Vatsal Sharma’s 70. Sparsh Joshi and Sankalp Singla bagged 3 wickets each for their team.

In reply, Delhi Wonders chased down the target in 34 overs mainly due to some fine batting by Parth Jain who score 70 runs and anchored the chase.

With this win, Delhi Wonders are just one step away from winning the cup while it is curtains for Hansraj Model School boys.

In the 39th Lala Raghuvir Singh Hot Weather Cricket Tournament, Sonnet Cricket Club defeated Players Academy by 6 wickets to enter quarter finals.

Batting first, Players Academy could score only 178 runs on the board. Amitoj Singh played a knock of 54 runs. Medium pace bowler Israr Khan bowled brilliantly and grabbed 5 wickets for just 30 runs to restrict the opposition.

In reply, Sonnet CC reached the target in just 24.5 overs courtesy a scintillating knock from Delhi T20 player Samarth Singh (104*, 71 balls).

Today Air India skipper Rahul Yadav won the toss and invited Roy boys to bat first. Roy boys failed to face the medium pace attack of Kunj Sharma and spin attack of veteran left arm spin attack of Subhash Chaudhary and Sonu Sharma and were all out for partly 184 runs in 38.1 overs. Only Sajid Mohd. And Bobby Yadav could face the attack of Air India and helped their side to scored 184 runs. Sajid scored 57 runs with 3×4 in 69 balls and Bobby Yadav scored 68 runs with 3×4 2×6 in 86 balls.

At one time they lost their cream 3 batsman at 18 in 8 overs. Sajid and Bobby put on 106 runs for the 5th wkt in 21.1 overs. Rohit scored 12 runs. Medium pacer Kunj Sharma was the main wrecker in chief for Air India and took 6 wkts for 43 runs in 7.1 overs. Leg spinner Ronak Sharma took 2 and veteran 48 year old Subhash Chaudhary took 1 wkts. Sanjay Pahal also took 1 wkt.

In reply Air India scored the needed 185 runs in 32 overs by losing 3 wkts. Aditya Kaushik scored 101 runs with 10×4 3×6 in 87 balls. Himanshu remained not out with 54 runs with 3×4 1×6 in 64 balls. Air India lost Manvinder Bisla for 3 and Deepak Joon for 13. Aditya Kaushik and Himanshu put on 107 runs for the 3rd wkts in 20.3 overs. Anureet Singh, Anuj and Bobby took 1-1 wkts each.

Now Air India will meet Telefunken C.C. in semi-final on June 11.

Batting first IB Ministry scored 352 runs with the help of centuries from Mohit Sharma (169) and Arvind Verma (116).In reply LIC could manage only 144 runs and lost by 208 runs. Arijit Dubey bagged a five wicket haul (5/33).

In another match, riding on Nakul Sharma’s all-round performance (120* and 2/43), Golden Hawks defeated Pelican Club by 5 wickets. Batting first Pelican Club scored 213 runs courtesy Vikas rana’s 97 runs. Golden hawks chased down the target in just 31 overs due to a sparkling century from Nakul Sharma.

Telefunken Cricket Club defeated ONGC by a huge margin of 170 runs in the quarter finals to reach the semi-finals of 39th Lala Raghuvir Singh Hot Weather Cricket Tournament.

Batting first, Telefunken scored a whopping 306 runs. Priyank Tehlan scored 94 runs while Gaurav Kumar and Yogesh Nagar contributed with 59 and 58 respectively.

In reply, ONGC could not withstand a devastating spell of bowling from Shiva Singh who scalped 3 wickets giving away just 8 runs and were shot out for mere 136 runs.

With this, Telefunken move a step closer towards winning the championship while its curtains for ONGC.
