“The five S’s of sports training are: stamina, speed, strength, skill, and spirit; but the greatest of these is spirit.” ~ Ken Doherty
For some people, sports is leisure. For others its fitness. But for many, sports is passion. Sports is a way of life, literally. Any game , be it cricket, hockey or athletics that keeps a man fit, active, alive and keeps a man going.
Based on our conversation with Mr. Sudhakar Shetty, founder of Max Talent Global Sports Organization, we explore about him, his endeavours and what MaxTalent is doing to help the tribal community.
About Mr. Sudhakar Shetty

Mr. Shetty has been actively involved in various sports since he was 13. He has been a super athlete and sportsperson. He has represented Maharashtra in state athletic meet. He was also the Mumbai University Soccer captain. He also tried his hand in Hockey and played Cricket in Harris Shield Tournament, one of the most prestigious school tournaments in Mumbai.
He founded Max Talent Global Sports in 2006 in his endeavour to contribute to the society that he was part of. Before that he was associated with corporates such as TATA, Parley and Pepsi for close to 23 years.
About the Organization

Max Talent Global Sports, founded in 2006 is aimed at helping cricket and other sports reach to all sections of the society. Started in UAE, it currently has 3 centres in UAE and also in South Africa, Kenya, and United Kingdom etc. It gives equal emphasis to the under-privileged and children with special needs and provide them with the best of facilities.
Mr. Shetty says, “We do a lot of activities for these children. An element of care is what separates them from the general section of the society. They need a special nurturing. The human inside us is best tested in character when we do something for this section of the society which is otherwise ignored.”
Towards Being Equal: A Dream Project

Towards being Equal is an “Adivasi Community Development Program” launched by Max Talent Global Sports earlier this year in order to contribute to the development of tribal community. The aim is to benefit the tribal children from the age group of 7-18 years. Their education, nutrition and all other needs will be taken care of and the target is to have some of them play at MCA level.
A special thanks to Mumbai Cricket Association and the ambassadors

Mr. Shetty says, “MCA has been very helpful and supportive in our endeavours. Authorities have helped us in providing the ground and more importantly with their involvement, opportunities for kids will naturally be more. They will get chances to play in more matches and they will always have a team to play in due to the established academy in main stream town.”
Shreyas Iyer has been roped in as the ambassador while Lalchand Rajput and Praveen Amre are there as patrons.
Camps & Tours

Legends like Gary Kirsten, Jonty Rhodes and Saqlain Mushtaq have visited the camps to provide inspiration to the upcoming cricketers.
Max Talent Academy team will be touring UK later this month. Various school tournaments will also be conducted in the coming months by the organization, both for boys and girls.
