Monsoon Trophy

DTU XI doubled up their Independence Day celebrations by registering a thumping win over ACE XI in their fixture in Monsoon Trophy 2015. The chief architect of the win was DTU bowler Harsh Vikram who bowled a deadly spell, capturing 4 wickets. He was deservingly adjudged man of the match.

Harsh Vikram

DTU skipper Ankit Kumar won the toss and opted to field first. His decision was perfectly backed by his bowlers, led by Harsh Vikram as they had 6 ACE XI batsmen back in the hut with just 10 runs on the board.

It was almost curtains for ACE XI innings, but lower order batsmen Pradeep (15) and Nikunj (12) offered some resistance to cross the 50 runs mark for their team as their eventually folded for 73 runs. Harsh captured 4, while Rubel and Rahul Meena scalped a couple of wickets each.

DTU reply was solely led by Vaibhav Guhaniya who smashed 3 sixes and 4 boundaries en route to his half century, making the game even more lop-sided than it already was. Shivam Duggal scored 11 runs. Rohit Dangwal captured both the wickets of DTU XI.

Brief Scores:

ACE XI: 73 all out in 16.3 overs (Pradeep 15, Nikunj 12, Harsh Vikram 4/13)

DTU XI: 74/2 in 10 overs (Vaibhav 50, Shivam Duggal 11, Rohit Dangwal 2/13)
