Zakhir Hussain College (M) defeated SSCBS comprehensively by 89 runs in their Inter College knockout match, played at Sri Venkateshwara College. ZHC won this match majorly due to some brilliant batting by their No. 2, 3 and 4 respectively. Himanshu, Kartik and Rohit all scored half centuries and enabled their team to post a total that was well beyond the reach of their opponents.
Batting first, ZHC posted a mammoth 290 runs on the board in just 40 overs. Himanshu top scored with 83 runs followed by Kartik (65) and Rohit Rana (62). There isn’t much to write about SSCBS bowling as all the bowlers went for plenty and were neither able to stop the flow of runs nor pick up wickets.
In reply, SSCBS were never really in the hunt at any point in their chase. The only shining factor was a fighting half century by Akash Ahuja (60). Himanshu Mehta remained unbeaten on 35 runs but consumed 64 balls and the match was well out of reach for his team.

Batting first, Deshbandhu College were skittled for mere 66 runs inside 23 overs. Opener Ashish Manghi top scored with 27 runs but rest of the batting just fell apart. In a close fought Inter-College knockout match between ARSD College and Kirori Mal College (KMC), the former emerged winners by 2 wickets thanks to superb batting by the openers Manav Goel (79) and Shubham Arora (51).
Played at NSIT Dwarka, KMC batted first and put up a good total of 213 runs in 45 overs. The major contributors were Ankit Dahiya (77*) and Mridul (61). For ARSD, Manmohan and Arun Negi captured 2 wickets each.
Chasing 214 runs to remain in the tournament, ARSD were off to a dream start as openers Manav Goel and Shubham Arora added 140 runs for the first wicket. But as they say, nothing can be predicted in cricket. Once the openers were dismissed, ARSD lost the track of the chase. It was only on the second last ball of the match that they were able to cross the line and had lost 8 wickets in the process. For KMC, Akhilesh Yadav captured 4 wickets but was unlucky to end on the losing side.

Ram Lal Anand College (RLA) showed no mercy to the hapless Sri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) cricket team in their Inter College knockout encounter. First they got them all out for mere 51 runs, which by all means is one of the lowest team totals in tournament’s recent history and then chased down the total in 8 overs with almost half the runs (23) scored in extras.

Played at SGTB Khalsa College Ground, SRCC won the toss and elected to bat first. The decision back fired big time as 5 batsmen went without troubling the scorer. They were bundled out for mere 51 runs in 29 overs with Piyush Kumar (14) the top scorer followed by Ajay Aryan (12).
Himanshu Bansal led the bowling chart for RLA by picking up 4 wickets. He was well supported by Manjot Rawat and Hitesh Mehra who captured a couple of wickets each.
Chasing a small target, RLA batsmen were not required to make much of an effort as apart from Vikrant Chillar (25 runs), the rest of the work was done by SRCC bowlers as they gave away as many as 23 extra runs, thus providing a perfect end to their already sad day. Suraj Yadav and Ravi Kumar managed a wicket each.
Brief Scores:
SRCC: 51 all out in 29.1 overs (Piyush 14, Ajay 12, Himanshu Bansal 4/08)
RLA: 55/2 in 8.1 overs (Vikrant 25, Ravi Kumar 1/10)
