Jhunjhunwala College Vs Saathe College | DSO Quarter Finals
In rain curtailed match the quarter final was reduced to 15 overs a side in the quarters of DSO. Saathe college won the toss and elected to bat first but they could only manage to score 61 runs courtesy all round bowling performance of Jhunjhunwala bowlers.
Their opener pace bowler Pritam Gaikwad picked up 2 wickets with good pace bowling however the highlight of the match was impeccable bowling by the leggie Vedant Khambe who also plays for Shivaji Park Youngsters club B division in the kanga league. He finished with incredible figures of 3 overs 2 runs and 3 wickets. He was ably supported by their captain Bhavin Darzi who too picked up 3 wickets.

It was a very small target to chase for the strong batting line up of Jhunjhunwala college. Opening batsman Vaishnav Narvekar who is known for his sensible batting scored an important 26 runs picking up singles and doubles at regular interval.
In the Jhunjhunwala lost 4 wickets however comfortably chased the target of 61 runs.
Now Jhunjhunwala moves onto the semi-final stage for an encounter scheduled on 07 october 2015.


Radha Kishan Inter School
Fine all-round display by Randheer Parmar 49 and 2/27 and Mukul Singh 3/23 helped Apex Public School beat Mata Jai Kaur School by 11 runs in the 25th Radha Kishan Sanjay Inter School cricket tournament.

Superb bowling by medium pacer Nitin Yadav 4/09 and Hitesh Gemini 3/10 and fine knock by Devender Lochab 39 and Akhil Kochar 38 not out helped Haryana Academy beat Minerwa Academy Chandigarh by 8 wickets and enter semifinals of the 7th MK Group cricket tournament.

Vinoo Mankad Trophy
Magic bowling by off spinner Nitin Tanwar 8.4-4-12-5 and quick fire knock by wicket keeper Rishabh Pant 78 runs in just 41 balls with 11 fours and 4 sixes helped Delhi beat Punjab by 7 wickets in the North Zone Vinoo Mankad Under-19 cricket tournament at Chandigarh.

Delhi captain Himmat Singh won the toss and elected to field. For Delhi Rishabh Pant and Sarthak Ranjan added 120 runs in just 12.1 overs for the first wicket. This was the third victory for Delhi. Delhi leads the group with 12 points.

Mr. A.N Sharma (Coach of Virender Sehwag) shared his words of wisdom with young kids at the inaugural match of AV Club’s Inter School Cricket Tournament, at Vikaspuri Academy Ground.

The tournament is being jointly organized by Vidya Jain Cricket Academy and AV Club. Among the people present at the ceremony are Mr. Naresh Jain (Principal & Owner- Vidya Jain Public School & Cricket Academy), Mohd. Atiq (Senior Coach, AV Club) and others.

DAV College romped past Satyawati College by 9 wickets in their DU Inter College knockout match, played at Shradhanand College. The star of the day was DAV bowler Mihir Dhawan (5 wickets) who ran through the batting line up of Satyawati College along with Lokesh (4 wickets) and shot them out for mere 53 runs (lowest score of the season).

DAV College won the toss and opted to field first. Their decision could not have gone better. They affected 6 ducks in the innings with Lokesh going through the top and middle order and Mihir cleaning up the tail. The total stood at 53 runs in less than 20 overs. No. 11 Rahul top scored with 18 runs.

Chasing 54 runs to win, DAV lost Mukun in the process. Neeraj (27*) and Vivek ensured that DAV cross the finish line with not much effort. Ketan picked up the only wicket to fall.

Dyal Singh College demolished Sri Aurobindo College by 67 runs, courtesy a superb show by their bowlers and progressed in the knockout stage of DU Inter College Cricket Tournament. Defending a small target of 151 runs, Dyal Singh bowlers were up to the task as they skittled their opponents for just 84 runs thereby making is a one-sided victory.
Aurobindo College won the toss and opted to field first. Their decision proved to be correct as they were able to control the innings and wrapped up the innings for just 151 runs in the 34th over itself. Extras were the top scorer with 32 followed by Sagar (25) and Abhimanyu Bhaskar (23). No other batsman could offer any sort of resistance to the bowlers.
Aurobindo bowler Manoj captured 4 wickets and was well supported by Karan and Sumit (2 wickets each).
Chasing a relatively low target, Aurobindo College had a psychological advantage as they were chasing below 4 runs an over from the beginning. But they were off to a big surprise as Dyal Singh bowlers also had their task cut out and they did it to perfection. Not a single Aurobindo batsman could stand against the bowlers as whole team was sent packing for mere 84 runs, thus making 151 look like an everest. Arpit top scored with 20.
Tushar captured 4, whereas Ramesh, Sandeep and Abhay captured a couple of wickets each.

Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) has declared the 15 member Under-23 squad for the upcoming Col. C.K Naidu Trophy. Shivam Sharma will lead the side with Himmat Singh as his deputy.
The meeting was attended by Sh. Vinay Lamba (Chairman), Hari Gidwani, Rahul Sanghvi, Ajay Verma (Coach) and Sunil Dev (Convenor). The selected players are required to report at Feroz Shah Kotla Ground on 6th October at 12 Noon to Mr. Praveen Gupta (Manager) and Mr. Ajay Verma (Coach).
All details will be sent to BCCI for age clearances and if objected by the board, the cricketer will not be allowed to participate with the team.
