Riding on a superb show by the bowlers namely Ankur and Kareem (3 wickets each) and Prankit‘s 46 run knock, Shaheed Bhagat Singh College (E) defeated Satyawati College (M) by 4 wickets in their DU Inter College knockout match, played at Swami Shradhanand College Ground.
Batting first, Satyawati College batsmen were not up to their mark as the innings folded for mere 111 runs in 35 overs. Imran Khan top scored with 38 runs and No. 10 Siddharth contributed with crucial 28 runs, without which Satyawati would not have crossed 100 run mark. Ankur and Kareem captured 3 wickets each while Avinash captured two wickets for their team.
In reply, SBSC (E) were off to a perfect start with openers Tarun Rana (25) and Prankit (46) adding 81 runs for the first wicket. But once their partnership was broken, SBSC had a minor scare as they lost 5 more wickets quickly but finally overhauled the target with 4 wickets to spare. Rahul Jaggi captured 4 wickets for Satyawati but it was little too late to change the fate of the match.

Half centuries from Vikrant Chillar and Paras Sehrawat and a four wicket haul by Manoj Rawat enabled Ram Lal Anand College defeat College of Vocational Studies (CVS) by a huge margin of 125 runs and progress further in the DU Inter College Cricket Tournament.
Batting first, RLA College scored 246 runs losing all their wickets, thanks to contributions from Vikrant Chillar (50), Paras Sehrawat (59), Shailendra (37) and Hitesh Mehra (28). CVS bowled well to restrict RLA College to below 250. Arjun and Aryan captured 3 wickets each and Ujjwal Verma captured 2 wickets.
In reply, apart from opener Rishi kalkal‘s 60 runs, no other batsman could offer any sort of resistance to the bowlers as the whole team was sent packing for just 121 runs thereby falling short by 125 runs. All RLA bowlers bowled well but Manoj Rawat with figures of 8-1-28-4 stood apart.

Prince Yadav‘s all-round show (3/26, 84 runs) helped Ramanujan College easily defeat BR Ambedkar College by 5 wickets in their DU Inter College knockout match, played at PGDAV College Ground.
Batting first, BR Ambedkar College were all out for 199 runs. Opener Hardeep Bhatia scored 35 while Vikas Bagri top scored with 56 runs. Ankit Pal scored an invaluable 26 runs down the order. Ramanujan bowling was led by Prince Yadav who captured 3 wickets and was well supported by Manish Chaudhary (2 wickets) and other bowlers.
Chasing a modest 200 to survive in the tournament, Ramanujan were off to a great start as openers Prince Yadav (84) and Suraj Soni (31) complied 109 runs for the first wicket. No. 3 Gautam Parashar (42) also carried on the momentum with Prince and took the score past 150. A couple of wickets fell towards the end but Ramanujan College finally crossed the finish line with 5 wickets to spare. Prakash Kumar captured 2 wickets for BR Ambedkar College.

SGND Khalsa College proved their strength yet again as they dismissed their opponents for less that 100 for the second time in a row and secured an easy victory and progressed further in the tournament. The chief architects of the victory were bowlers Hriday and Chetan who scalped 5 and 3 wickets respectively.
Batting first, ANDC were shot out for mere 71 runs thanks to superb bowling show by Hriday and Chetan. Neeraj Kumar top scored with 25. Three ANDC batsmen went back for a duck.
In reply, chasing a low target, SGND Khalsa lost three wickets in the process but thanks to Hriday Singh’s 45 run knock, they were able to over haul the target without much hiccups.

Khalsa college Vs SIES College | DSO
SIES college won the toss and elected to field first Khalsa college batsmen posted a decent total of 107 runs in allotted 15 overs. Jayesh Mohite scored a decent 46 runs in the opening match along with Yash Bhojne (23 runs)
When SIES College came in to bat everything was running smoothly and then the lightning struck not once or twice but thrice in the 13th over the 2nd innings. That lightning was none other than Ninand the left arm pacer who first bowled the batsman followed by a catch at mid-on and then again getting the batsman clean bowled on hat trick ball.
SIES batsman failed to come out of this shock and were short of 20 odd runs .
Day belonged to Ninand for his hattrick. He was recently selected in the Under -16 probable by MCA. Ninad surely has made his college coach Nikhil M and Sushil J very proud with his performance.

Jhunjhunwala College Vs Saathe College | DSO Quarter Finals
In rain curtailed match the quarter final was reduced to 15 overs a side in the quarters of DSO. Saathe college won the toss and elected to bat first but they could only manage to score 61 runs courtesy all round bowling performance of Jhunjhunwala bowlers.
Their opener pace bowler Pritam Gaikwad picked up 2 wickets with good pace bowling however the highlight of the match was impeccable bowling by the leggie Vedant Khambe who also plays for Shivaji Park Youngsters club B division in the kanga league. He finished with incredible figures of 3 overs 2 runs and 3 wickets. He was ably supported by their captain Bhavin Darzi who too picked up 3 wickets.
It was a very small target to chase for the strong batting line up of Jhunjhunwala college. Opening batsman Vaishnav Narvekar who is known for his sensible batting scored an important 26 runs picking up singles and doubles at regular interval.
In the Jhunjhunwala lost 4 wickets however comfortably chased the target of 61 runs.
Now Jhunjhunwala moves onto the semi-final stage for an encounter scheduled on 07 october 2015.
Radha Kishan Inter School
Fine all-round display by Randheer Parmar 49 and 2/27 and Mukul Singh 3/23 helped Apex Public School beat Mata Jai Kaur School by 11 runs in the 25th Radha Kishan Sanjay Inter School cricket tournament.

Superb bowling by medium pacer Nitin Yadav 4/09 and Hitesh Gemini 3/10 and fine knock by Devender Lochab 39 and Akhil Kochar 38 not out helped Haryana Academy beat Minerwa Academy Chandigarh by 8 wickets and enter semifinals of the 7th MK Group cricket tournament.
