DU Inter College 2015-16

Aryabhatta College bowler Yogesh Kumar continued his deadly bowling form as he captured a second consecutive five wicket haul to demolish the opponents Ram Lal Anand College as his team won comfortably by 7 wickets and put up a strong case for the last four stage.

DU Inter College 2015-16

It seems as if Sri Venkateswara College have scripted their wins even before the tournament began. They follow the same pattern- get opposition out for a low total and chase it down with only top 3 or 4 batsmen. The same story continued in the group quarter-finals as well as they demolished SGGSCC side by 9 wickets.

Batting first, SGGSCC innings were wrapped up for mere 124 runs with Vasu Baghla top scoring with 32 runs. For Venky, Rahul Chaudhary captured 4 wickets while Yash Sehrawat and Biren Singh scalped a couple of wickets each.

It was a rather familiar and easy situation for Venkateswara openers but this time Yash Sehrawat gave away his wicket to Sanchit Bhatia leaving Abhimanyu Budhraja (46*) and Anmol Katyal (66*) to finish the job for his team, which they did in style.

Brief Scores:

SGGSCC: 124 all out (Vasu 32, Parth Madaan 18, Rahul Chaudhary 4/13, Yash 2/21)

Venkateswara College: 125/1 (Anmol katyal 66*, Abhimanyu Budhraja 46*)

Tournament : Milan Corporate 2015-16, Venue : Western Railway, Cross Maidan

Match between : Idea vs GEP

No one would have expected the start of the corporate cricket scene in Milan Corporate cup, Mumbai would be a last over thriller. Having won the toss GEP chose to bat first and put up a decent total of 134 in the allotted 20 overs.  Opener Shriyank scored 39 off 38 balls. The real push was provided by Chetan in the dying overs of the inning with a quickfire 30 off just 18 balls. For Idea, Adya Thakur and Javed Gajwani not only bowled economically but also picked up 2 wickets each.

Idea started the chase well mainly due to their opening batsman Samir Vedak. One would have thought they would easily clinch the win. But a few run outs and some tight bowling in the middle overs by GEP took the match to the last over. Rajesh Roy put up a quick fire 25 in 18 balls. Number of extras really hurt GEP in the end. But an excellent start to the corporate cricket scene in Mumbai with such a t20 thriller.

Samir Vedak was declared Man Of the Match.
