In a match played between Manthan Cricket Academy and L.K Cricket Academy, the former prevailed over the latter by a 30 run margin thanks to a superb all round show by Shivam Dhyani (41 runs, 3/26) who helped his team secure am emphatic victory.

Ghai Memorial Tournament
Riding on a superb innings of 85 runs (70 balls) by Ayushman, Happy Model School defeated MHGS Trust Foundation by a whopping margin of 107 runs in the inaugural match of Ghai Memorial Cricket Tournament, organized by Happy Model School.
Happy Model School won the toss and elected to bat first. Proving the decision spot on, Ashutosh (85) dominated the opposition bowlers and hammered them all round the park. Ayush Sharma contributed 28 runs from 30 balls. Happy School eventually scored 188/3 in 25 overs.

In reply, MHGS Foundation faultered at the very beginning and could not stay in the match for long as they were bundled out for mere 81 runs in 12 overs thereby losing by 107 runs. Sunny managed 15 runs which was the highest in their innings.

Match : Maskati Cricket Club vs Jolly Gymkhana
Jolly Gymkhana in their encounter against Maskati club could manage only 157 runs. Sawant from Maskati was the chief tormentor having taken 6 crucial wickets in less than 40 runs. Only Chetan Jaiswal from Jolly batting lower down the order offered some resistance with a brilliant 64 runs.
Chasing a tricky target of 157 for a first innings lead, Maskati lost a few wickets but some sensible batting by Bhise saw them surpass opponents total with 4 wickets to spare. With this lead they got important bonus points.

Tournament : Kanga League 2015-16 Group A, Venue : New Hind CC, Matunga
Match : New Hind Cricket Club vs Cricket Club of India (CCI)

Having put in to bat by New Hind CC, CCI lost few early wickets courtesy some tight line

and length bowling by opener bowler Vaibhav Singh. But 2-down bat Sujit Nayak not only controlled the downward fall of his team but also compiled a well composed century in the process. His efforts were well supported by Rohan Punjwani, who scored a brilliant half century. CCI declared their first innings at 250 for the loss of 7 wickets.
In response New Hind CC scored 71 runs for the loss of 2 wickets. The match was drawn and points were equally shared by the 2 teams.

Tournament : DSO, Mumbai
Match : Rizvi college vs R.D. National
Rizvi played against R.D.National college both from bandra where R.D.National college won the toss and elected to bat first. After playing full 15 overs R.D.National college were able to put 91 on the board after loosing 9 wickets. Only noticeable performance from National college was from Aakash who scored quick fire 35 of just 13 balls. Hashir Dafedar the skipper and Tanvish both got 3 wickets each in their 3 overs for Rizvi college.
In response, Atharva Chavan of Rizvi college played a beautiful knock of 50* and helped his team to chase the total easily in just 12 overs. Rizvi will be playing R.J.Jhunjhunwala in the finals of DSO suburbs side.
Two strong teams who are dominating college cricket from ages. Now we have to see who is going to make it to the mega final to play against Khalsa college in this year’s DSO cricket tournament(junior college).

Tournament : MCA – Kanga 2015-16
Match : DY Patil SA vs parkophene CC
It is not often that in a local cricket tournament one gets to play against quality international spin bowling but that was not the case for Parkophene CC when they played against DY Patil Sports Academy in their Sunday encounter in Kanga League A division.
Having won the toss, D Y Patil invited Parkophene to bat first to deal with spin duo of Iqbal and Pravin, both IPL stars. Iqbal and Pravin did not disappoint and shared 9 wickets between them. Iqbal taking 6 while Pravin 3 and thus bundling out Parkophene for just 98 in 36 overs. Only note worthy performance with bat was that of Swapnil Salvi who made 31.
DY Patil easily surpassed their opponents score and declared innings at 103 for 2 in the 18th over. In the second innings, young batting sensation Prithvi Shaw scored a half century for Parkophene while Pravin Tambe again took 2 wickets. The match ended in a draw but DY Patil got points based on first innings lead.

A superb all round show by the bowlers led by Rohan Gupta (3/39) and a run a ball knock of 93 runs by Prashant Bhati enabled Hindu College defeat SGGS College by 6 wickets in their group Q-F encounter of DU Inter College Tournament, played at NSIT Dwarka.
Batting first, SGGS were all out for 168 runs. Opener Sanchit Batra top scored with 41 runs. For Hindu, Rohan captured 3 while Pragam and Aman scalped 2 wickets.
Hindu College reply was led solely by Prashant Bhati who made a flawless 93 runs (93 balls, 13×4, 2×6). He was well supported by Aman Gurnani (43 runs). Aman remained unbeaten to see his team through.

Riding on a superb century by opener Ashish Tokas (100), Kshitij (48) and an inspired bowling performance by Tanuj Panwar (4/42), Venkat Shivam (3/39) and Harsh Rathore (3/28), DCAC defeated a strong SGTB Khalsa College by 33 runs in their group Q-F encounter and survived to fight another day in the tournament.
For Khalsa, the only bright spot was their skipper Arjun Arora’s excellent innings of 75 runs.
