Riding on a scintillating knock of 67 in just 29 deliveries by Sanjeev Deshmukh, EHV (O&N) circle Panvel beat SLDC Kalwa by 30 runs in the first semifinal of the MAHATRANSCO Inter Circle Tournament.
Batting first EHV Panvel scored 149 for the loss of 4 wickets in allotted 15 overs. Sanjeev was the rock star. B.L. Munde picked up 2 wickets.
Chasing 10 runs an over was always a challenging task that too in a semifinal but SLDC Kalwa showed lot of courage as Mukesh Kuswah scored 44 in 30 balls but some excellent bowling by Nitin Badrike who took 3 wickets for just 7 runs saw Kalwa fell short of the target by 30 runs.
Sanjeev was declared MoM.
Second semifinal will be played at 8:45 AM on Wednesday 30 th December while finale will be played at 1:30 PM on the same day.
Nekh, the lefti spinner was at his bowling best once again, picking up 4 crucial wickets of Lilavati Poddar, Santa Cruz in the second round of the Harris shield trophy. He got brilliant support from right arm spin bowler, Kunal Naik, who too captured 4 wickets.
This spin duo helped Fatima defend modest total of 143 runs. Lilavati were bowled out for 123 runs thus giving a 19 run victory to Fatima High school. Nekh was declared Man of the Match.
The Harris Shield match between Fazlani International school and Anjuman Islam Urdu CST saw a bowling star emerge from Anjuman Islam school.
Aman’s bowling spell read following figures : 4.5 overs, 3 maidens, 6 runs and 9 wickets. Yes that s right, he took whopping 9 wickets of the opposition. He could have got all 10 wickets but unfortunately one of them was RUN OUT. Aman’s bowling was so deadly that 6 of the Fazlani batsman were out for duck. Fazlani were bowled out for minuscule 23 runs in 14 overs and Anjuman reached target without any damage.
Aman’s performance would be remembered for days to come. Way to go Aman!



The venue was RBI pitch Azad maidan for the Harris shield game between Digambar Patkar Vidyalay School dadar and Yashodham school Goregaon.
Yoshodham won the toss and elected to bat and what a batting performance Ryan Thomas gave. He took just 126 balls to finish on 119 unbeaten, hitting ball to all parts of the ground. Yashodham compiled 216 for 6 in allotted 45 overs.
Unfortunately it wasn’t Ryan’s day as his team got beaten by team efforts of Digambar Patkar school. Patkar schools innings started on top gear and they achieved their target in 35th over. Atharv Dakway scored 47 while Harsh Raut hit 60 runs enabling Patkar Vidyalaya win by 7 wickets.


Bhooshan Kastur and Shreyas Pathak bowled very well in tandem steam rolling the opponents Anthony D’Silva school for mere 59 runs. Bhooshan took 3 wickets while Shreyas accounted for 2.
Balmohan top order took just 8 overs to achieve the target giving a huge win to Balmohan Vidyamandir Marathi school. Shreyas and Bhooshan showed their all round capabilities scoring 27 and 26 respectively.


Samruddha Bharat Sangh / SBS corporate cricket tournament came to a grand finish on 27 Dec 2015, Sunday at Purandare stadium, Parel. Final match witnessed two competitive teams Hindustan Times against Sodexo battle it out for the coveted trophy. Sodexo won the toss and elected to bat first in the all important finale.
However the pressure of the final match was handled much better by Hindustan Times bowlers who restricted the target to 101 in 18 overs. HT skipper Kawaldeep bowled his heart out at the end of the innings and finished with 3 overs , 21 runs and picked up 3 wickets. More notable performance was the accurate leg spin bowling display by Manan .K who bowled 4 overs allowing 20 runs and scalping 2 important wickets. Manan is that rare breed of leggies who also bowled a maiden over in a T-20 match.
When the going gets tough, tough gets going and rightly so HT batsmen made this small target seem like a mammoth task. HT lost quick wickets at regular intervals and were struggling at 74-5 at one stage. Opener batsman Yogesh anchored the innings by scoring 34 runs in 19 balls and was supported by Manan K by scoring a valiant 31 runs. Finally HT achieved the target of 101 in 17.2 overs and lost 7 wickets in the chase. HT was crowned the winners of SBS Corporate cricket league and Manan the man of the match.

Winners – Hindustan Times Cricket Team
Coming into bat when his team was in trouble at 38 for 2 in the 8th over, Infan Lakhani not only got the team out of trouble but also scored at more than decent pace.
Thanks to Irfan’s brilliant knock of 83 off 48 balls (7 boundaries and 2 sixes) Avengers posted score of 164 for 5. The day belonged to Irfan as he took 2 wickets of SSA Strikers restricting them to 141 runs thus winning by 13 runs. Orange cap holder Hitesh Gujar’s innings of 65 went in vain.
Irfan was chosen Man of the Match for all round show!
Edifice Consultants played two back to back matches as part of the super 8 leagues last weekend.
Edifice won both their matches and their star player Mahesh Hirapara played a major hand in both the matches. In the first match against Sankalpan, Sankalpan chose to bat against Edifice. Antapurkar scored run a ball 49 runs. Sankalpan had lot of hopes on their star batsman Nakhwa who unfortunately was run out for 12 off 7 balls. Mahesh Hirpara took 3 wickets for just 14 runs. He was well supported by Jadhav who also took 3 wickets. Sankalpan innings folded for 141 runs 5 deliveries short of quota of 20 overs.
The chase was a breeze for Edifice as both their openers, Mahesh Hirpara and Koli scored brisk half centuries. The target was achieved in the 16th over. Mahesh was declared MoM.
The second match the next day was no different for Edifice. Different opponent but the same star who won the match for them.
Arch Mavericks won the toss and chose to bat. They posted score of 152 with opener Chondhe top scored with 42 while Khushru Irani scored 36. Thomas and Sarangan took 2 wickets each.
In the chase, Mahesh Hirpara was at his brutal best hitting 11 boundaries and 7 sixes in 53 balls 98 and he remained unbeaten. The target was achieved for second time in row in the 16th over. Mahesh won MoM award once again.
In the 6th match of OMTEX CUP 2015-16 Team PD Fashion won comfortably by 4 wickets against Team KCD group. Winning the toss and choosing to bat first Team KCD were reduced to 45/4 inside 11 overs due to excellent 3 over spell by Raja Oza (3-0-14-3). Rohit Patel failed to capitalise on the promising start & captain Hemang shah who scored 74 runs in the last match failed too , but patient knocks by two experienced players , Classy innings by Bhavin Shah 81 runs and steady 46 runs by Naynesh Parikh gave respectability to total and TEAM KCD reached 211 in 40 overs.
In reply chasing 212 Team PDF didn’t start well as they lost two wickets in quick succession of the bowling of Krunal Sheth, but for Team PDF it was all rounders day; After the set back the two left handers steadied the ship and stopped further collapse. Mayur Shah & Himanshu Baranwal gave good platform and stage was set for the today’s MoM Naynesh Shetty – who sting like a bee & played a responsible innings of 73 not out and was engaged in two crucial partnership with his fellow all rounders Himanshu & Maulik Doshi and reached the target in 33 overs & Team PDF lead by Nilesh Shah recorded the first victory and opened their account with 4 points In Omtex Cup 2015 2016 ..




Riding on an unbeaten 93 from his last match against Karnataka sports club, Vinit Indulkar demonstrated his prowess yet again by scoring massive 194 against Parel club.
Winning the toss CCI skipper Paul decided to bat first but soon lost 2 quick wickets. Scoreboard read 9 runs for the loss of 2 wickets. Parel Club joy was short lived since from that point onwards the entire show was managed by two CCI batsmen – Nikhil Patil – 133 (138) and Vinit Indulkar 194 (190 ). Vinit Indulkars innings were decorated with 24 fours and 2 sixes.
Together they stitched a partnership of 250 plus. Stage was then set for late hitting by Sujit Nayak who scored a blistering 95 off 67 balls.
CCI Posted a huge score of 473 runs in 70 overs!
CCI will now face DY Patil this weekend in the ongoing Purushottam shield tournament.
