The much awaited Shiraz-E-Hind Trophy 2016 got off  to a great start with match between two good teams, Syntel and Omni Marines at the Parsi cyclist pitch in Mumbai.

Kunal Dhake, opening the batting for Syntel, scored patient 43 runs off 78 balls hitting 7 boundaries. Syntel deciding to bat first could muster only 161 runs off 33 overs. Extras played an important role as they were third highest runs in Syntel’s line up. Syntel’s middle order completely collapsed against some accurate bowling by Amey Parab (4 wickets) and Sachin Chaudhary (3 wickets). It was some good pinch hitting lower down the order by Ashutosh Shukla that propelled Syntel to some decent score. Ashutosh hit 39 runs off 42 balls that included 4 boundaries and a six.

Omni Marines did not get off to a good start in a tricky chase and lost quick wickets. When Omkar Maldikar was there at the crease, Omni were in with a decent chance. Introduction of Kunal in the bowling changed the course of the game completely. Kunal Dhake, carried his confidence from batting into his bowling. He claimed an incredible 6 wickets. His spell read 8 overs 13 runs and 6 wickets. Omni scumbbled to Kunals impeccable line falling short of the target by 30 runs.

Winner of the day was Syntel – Consider IT done!
