Pedhmala faced Rintoda on 24th Jan at RBI, Azad Maidan in the on-going TMBB Cup 2016 tournament. Pedhmala won the toss and elected to bat first. Pedhmala thrived on this opportunity and scored a handsome 246-5 in their full quota of 35 overs. It was a splendid batting display as three of their players scored half centuries; Nismid (50), Yagnesh (51) and Manish (52). A cameo from Daksesh (42 runs off 23 balls) took his team post the 200-run mark. Mukesh picked up 2-47 in his seven overs and was the best bowler for Rintoda.
In reply, Rintoda were restricted to 196-5 in 35 overs, thereby losing the match by a big margin of 50 runs. Urvish (43) top-scored for his side but failed to take his team home. First with the bat and then with the ball, Manish contributed to Pedhmala’s win. He picked up 3-40 in his seven overs. He was awarded with the Man of the Match prize for his all-round performance (52 runs and 3 wickets).
HUS Films Pvt. Ltd. locked horns against Omni Marine Engineering on 24th Jan at Prabhu Jolly Young Cricketers Club, Mumbai in the on-going Shiraz-e-Hind tournament match organized by Mariya Sports. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Omni were bundled out for 73 in 25.2 overs, courtesy the wonderful bowling efforts of Azeem Dayatar (3-11) and Hamid Raza (3-4). Opening batsman Aakash Patil (20) top-scored for Omni receiving no support whatsoever from rest of the batting line-up.
Chasoing a modest target of 74 runs was always going to be a cake walk for HUS Films. They finished off the match in just 10.2 overs, keeping nine wickets in hand. The openers Rehan Khan (21) and Suresh Kamble (30*) gave a solid start and in the end Irfan Ansari (20*) also contributed to take his team through. Azeem Dayatar was bestowed with the Man of the Match award for his splendid bowling efforts.
Ontrack took on VFCL on 24th Jan at Yashwant Nagar ground in the on-going Friends Premier League. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Ontrack posted 126 on board, courtesy Ashish Joshi (33) and Aditya Salaskar (21). Praful Tambe was the pick of the bowlers for VFCL as he finished with figures of 4-18 in his four overs.
Chasing 127 runs was never going to be a worry for VFCL. Arsalan Shaikh made the chase look easy as he raced to a blistering 70 off just 44 balls, hitting 10 boundaries. He received good support from Mitul Barot (24) and Praful Tambe (24). Niketan Pandey and Sanath Patel of Ontrack bagged a couple of wickets apiece. VFCL chased down the target in just 17.3 overs, keeping five wickets in hand. Arsalan Shaikh was honoured with the Man of the Match prize for his match winning knock.
HMV Sports locked horns against Pyramids XI in the on-going 5th Corporate Cricket League, which is being organized by Smashtrees and is played in Delhi. Pyramids XI won the toss and put HMV Sports to bat. Batting first, HMV Sports posted 132-8 in their full quota of 20 overs. Bobby top-scored for his team with 53 runs off just 40 balls and remained unbeaten at the end of the innings. Amit Tomar (36) also contributed with the bat. Shekhar was the pick of the bowlers for Pyramids as he finished off with 3-14 in his three overs.
Chasing 133 runs should not have been a daunting task for Pyramids. However they were restricted for a paltry 93 runs in 20 overs. Mohit (29) and Varun (18) got off to good starts but failed to capitalize on the same. After shining with the bat, Amit Tomar swinged his arm and picked up 3-12 in his four overs. HMV Sports won the match by 39 runs and Amit Tomar was adjudged as the Man of the Match for his all-round performance.
Central Zone faced South Zone at JSCA International Stadium Complex, Ranchi in the on-going women’s U-19 inter-zonal two day tournament. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Central Zone declared their innings for 248-9 in 111.5 overs. Disha Kasat played a brilliant knock of 116 runs and was the star performer for Central Zone. Challa Jhansi Lakshmi (2-63) and Challuru Prathyusha (2-40) were the pick of the bowlers for South Zone.
In response, South Zone posted 199-9 in 83 overs. Neeragattu Anusha’s half century (59) steadied South Zone’s innings. Poonam Soni picked up 4-39 and was well-supported by Tanu Kala (3-45) from the other end.
The match ended in a draw with both the teams securing 1 point each.

West Zone and North Zone locked horns against each other at Ranchi in the on-going women’sU-19 inter-zonal two day tournament. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, West Zone was bundled out for a paltry 149 in 59.5 overs. Renuka Chaudhari (53) and Tejal Hasabnis (54) were the only two batswomen to have scored majority of the runs. Harleen Deol rattled the West Zone batting line-up with a five wicket haul and received good backing from Vandana Chaturvedi (3-38) and Komalpreet Kour (2-11).
In response, North Zone scored 210 in 76.3 overs, taking the first innings lead of 61 runs. After shining with the ball, Harleen Deol (47) came out strong with the bat, as she top scored for her team. Tejal Hasabnis swinged her arm to pick up 4-36 in 25.3 overs.
In the second innings, when West Zone trailed by 61 runs, it was important for them to not lose wickets. Yastika Bhatia (43*) and Jemimah Rodrigues (45) just did what the doctor had ordered for and provided West Zone with a solid start. The two-day play ended with West Zone scoring 101-1 in 39 overs in their second innings. North Zone grabbed 3 points, thanks to their first innings lead and West Zone had to settle with 1 point.

SS Travels faced Kotak Mahindra Bank on 23rd Jan, in the on-going Milan T20 Mega Corporate Cricket League, organized by Mr. Niranjan Jana and is being played in Mumbai. Kotak Mahindra won the toss and elected to bat first. They went off to a flyer as the openers Nishikant (46 runs off 31 balls) and Rugved (71 runs off 40 balls) played brilliantly and gave a great start to the team. Kotak Mahindra scored a massive 218-5 in their full quota of 20 overs.
In response, SS Travels were done and dusted for 121 runs in 18.2 overs, thus losing the match by 97 runs. Sameer Rane (25 runs off 30 balls) fought hard, but had no backing from rest of the batting line-up. Vikki was the pick of the bowlers for Kotak, finishing with 3-27 in his four overs. Rugved was adjudges as the Man of the Match for his match winning knock of 71 runs.
Naaptol and HDFC Life had an encounter on 23rd Jan in a T20 match of the on-going Milan T20 Mega Corporate Cricket League, organized by Mr. Niranjan Jana and is being played in Mumbai. Naaptol won the toss and elected to field first. HDFC Life, who was put in to bat, scored a defendable 158-10 in 19.3 overs. Thomson (32 runs off 18 balls) was the highest run-getter for HDFC and was well-supported by cameos from Sachin (26 runs off 24 balls) and Mateen (26 runs off 15 balls). Pravin was the best bowler for Naptool bagging 3-24.
In reply, Naptool played well for their 149, however fell short by just nine runs. Half century by Moeez Khan (50 runs off 43 balls) went in vain as he didn’t receive much support from rest of the batsmen. Shrikant bowled well and ended with figures of 4-21 in his full quota of four overs. His splendid bowling effort was awarded with the Man of the Match prize.
ZA Cricket Academy locked horns against Notorious on 23rd Jan, in a T20 match of the 5th Corporate Cricket League in Delhi, organized by Smashtrees. Winning the toss and putting ZA Cricket Academy to bat first, a formidable total of 232-5 was posted on board in 20 overs. The ZA Academy batsmen had a wonderful day at awesome, especially Lalit who scored a quick fire 70 off just 40 balls. Shadab (51*) and Mukun (36) also contributed with the bat. There was not much for Notorious bowlers as they were hammered all-round the park. Saurav was the pick of the bowlers accounting for two wickets.
Chasing a daunting target of 233 was always going to be tough. Notorious failed to put up a good show and were bundles out for a paltry 103 in 13.2 overs, losing the match by a mammoth margin of 129 runs. Gaurav (20) and Madhav (19) got the required starts, but failed to capitalize on the same. Picking up 3-20 in his three overs, Rahul was the best bowler for ZA Cricket Academy. Lalit was bestowed with the Man of the Match award for his brilliant knock of 70 runs.
CEX and HUL faced off against each other on 23rd Jan in Mumbai in the on-going Dreamz Trophy T20 cricket tournament. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, CEX posted run a ball total of 120 runs in their full quota of 20 overs. Nikhil Tanna was the star performer for CEX scoring 33 runs and received good support from Zulkarnain Shaikh (24). Jatin Khurana picked up 2-12 in his four overs, thereby restricting CEX for 120 runs.
Chasing a modest target of 121 runs, HUL tumbled down for 98 in 18.1 overs, thus losing the match by 22 runs. Rajesh Powar (26) was the lone fighter in HUL’s innings. After playing his role with the bat, Nikhil Tanna shined with the ball as he picked up 3-18 in his four overs. Zulkarnain Shaikh and Deep Shah also accounted for two wickets apiece. At the end of the play, Nikhil Tanna was honoured with the Man of the Match award for his all-round performance.
