
Nikunj and Akshay of Rowdy Routers single handedly chased down the target of 83 runs set by Virtela XI at Air India ground, Mumbai in the on-going Netmagic Premier League. Early in the day, Virtela posted 82-5 in 10 overs, thanks to a wonderful batting display from opening bat Chetan (36 runs off 26 balls). He was aggressive and was looking good to make a big score but his innings was put to an end by Suraj who clean bowled him. Suraj was the wrecker in chief as he picked up 2-9 in his one over.
Chasing over 8 runs in an over would have been tough, but the opening pair of Nikunj and Akshay set the stage on fire as they helped Rowdy Routers achieve the target in just 7.1 overs, keeping all ten wickets in hand. Nikunj (42 not out off 25 balls) was attacking right from the word go and was well-complimented by Akshay (28 not out off 17 balls), who tried to match Nikunj for his every shot.

The Twenty20 invitational tournament is in the memory of its former employee, Ankur Joglekar, who had introduced and avidly promoted the game in the company few years from when it started its operations in the city.
Pune’s 16 best corporate teams from IT companies are participating in the tournament this year. The top eight teams from the league matches will proceed to compete in the quarter-finals. The matches will be played over the weekends and follow international rules and regulations of the Twenty20 format.

This company was started 9 month back in 2015 by 3 friends however like most of the start ups, some of the founder members backed off and the core founder, Suzaan Sanghvi had to carry the entire show single handedly.
This year in 2016, the Halfway Hangover is organizing T15 Leather ball cricket tournaments for a specific community at Wilson Gymkhana, Mumbai.
The 8 participating teams are DHANERA,SUPER KINGS,RISING STAR, BHINMAL XI, SUPER STRIKERS, KINGHT RIDERS, CHINTAMANI XI and STAR BOYS.

Riding on Sagar Shah’s impeccable batting performance Marico chased down the formidable target of 163 runs against Deutsche Bank on 20th Feb at National Cricket Club, Mumbai during the Dreamz T20 tournament. Batting first Deutsche posted a challenging total of 162-4 in 20 overs. Dhruv top scored with 46 runs off 42 balls and received good support from Ashish (28). Aditya was the pick of the bowlers for Marico as he grabbed 2-29 in his four overs.
Chasing 163 runs was going to be tough, and it did them no good when Marico lost the opener Avik cheaply for just 4 runs. Since then there was no looking back as Sagar (71), Akhil (43) and Aditya (25) ensured that their team was safe. Sagar played one of his best innings as he scored a quick 71 off mere 49 balls. Even after scoring a half century, he did not let loose. He remained unbeaten and saw his team through. Marico achieved the target in 19.2 overs, keeping seven wickets in hand.
For his outstanding batting display, Sagar Shah was declared as the Man of the Match.
Vishal Dadgaonkar’s blistering knock of 82 balls off just 66 balls was the standout performance of the day during the match between Route SMS and Syntel in Shiraz-e-Hind tournament on 20th Feb in Mumbai. Vishal helped Route SMS post a formidable 254-8 in 38 overs. He had an amazing day with the bat as he smacked the Syntel bowlers all-round the park. He pierced the gaps at regular intervals and hit the odd boundaries at his will. Pranay (42) and Rishkesh (46) chipped in as well. Ganesh Pawar was the pick of the bowlers for Syntel as he picked up 3-36 in seven overs.
In reply, Syntel was bundled out for a paltry 130 in just 26.3 overs. Bhushan Tandel rattled the Syntel batting line-up grabbing 3-28 in eight overs. Bhavik Patil and Vishal Dadgaonar were among wickets, accounting for two wickets apiece. Opening bat Ashish Gupta top scored with 34 runs but received no support from the other end. Route SMS registered a comprehensive victory as they defeated Syntel by 124 runs.
Vishal Dadgaonkar was awarded with the Man of the Match prize for his fantastic all-round performance (82 runs and 2-23 in 3.3 overs).
Royal Scotts locked horns against Sultan Sports in the all important final match of the Inter-Zonal T20 Tournament organized by Delhi Cricket League in Delhi. Batting first, Royal Scott put up a decent batting performance scoring 135-9 in 20 overs. The target was not too steep but was enough to keep Sultan Sports in control. Puneet Yadav top scored with 46 runs and was well-supported by Ajay Chouhan (38) and Rahul (24). All the three players played some fantastic cricketing shots and helped their team to cross the crucial 120-run mark. Ovesh Saifi was simply brilliant with the ball as he grabbed 4-10 in his four overs. Ubed Khan and Brij Bhushan were the other bowlers among wickets, picking up two apiece.
Chasing 136 runs in a final can always be tricky. Sultan Sports played well but fell short of 20 runs as they were restricted at 115-9 in 20 overs. Had they calmed their nerves, the trophy would have been theirs. Vimal was at his very best as he scored 39 runs, but failed to capitalize. Nishant Singh was the pick of the bowlers as he finished off with 3-17 in four overs. After his batting heroics, Ajay Chouhan accounted for two wickets and so did Hitesh Kumar.
It was an emphatic victory for Royal Scott as they clinched the Inter-Zonal T20 Trophy organized by Delhi Cricket League. Ajay Chouhan was declared as the Man of the Match for his match winning all-round performance (38 runs and 2-19 in 4 overs). Some of the other awards that were announced were; Man of the Series Ovesh Saifi (4 matches, 12 wickets and 65 runs), Best Bowler Nishant Singh (5 matches, 9 wickets), Best Batsman Ajay Chauhan (5 matches, 125 runs), Best Wicket-Keeper Puneet Yadav (5 matches, 7 dismissals), Best Fielder Ubed Khan (4 matches, 2 amazing catches), Best Emerging Player Anil Sharma (6 wickets in 1 match), Best Fair play award Brij Bhushan and Best Six award Kartik Kain.









It a season for big hitting, big scores and breaking of records. In the ongoing Thosar Tournament played at Central Maidan, Thane, between Prime Group CC against Royal CC Thane, it was another huge total put by the side batting first.
Prime Group CC batting first, posted 306 runs in 45 overs. The right handed batsman , Premchand Rajbhar who came down at the 5th position to bat scored 106* . He came in at a stage when the left handed spinner from Royal CC was bowling really well and already picked up 4 wickets. Prem watchfully played his over resulting in a maiden however that was only before Prem let himself loose.
Prem hit 7 fours and 7 sixes to reach 106 in 66 balls!
Prem was recently awarded the Man of the Series in Inter College Thane District Tournament , where he scored 176 runs and picked up 6 wickets in 3 matches. Prem coaches under Ajay kadam, the head coach of Mulund Gymkhana.
Prime Group CC easily won the match by getting the opponent all out for paltry 90 runs.
With this win, Prime Group CC moves on to the next level of Thosar Tournament .

Shankar Natekar of Sanofi had an amazing outing against HAV Solutions on 20th Feb at Cross Maidan in the on-going Milan Mega Corporate T20 tournament. Batting first, Sanofi put on board a defendable 145-6 in 20 overs, courtesy an unbeaten knock of 48 runs off 47 balls from Mihir Angne. Coming in at no.3 Mihir played a patient knock considering the T20 standard. He read the bowling well and punished the bad balls, scoring seven boundaries in his innings. Harmeet was the best bowler as he finished off with the figures of 3-16 in his four overs.
In response, HAV Solutions were restricted at 135-9 in 20 overs, thanks to a brilliant bowling performance from Shankar Natekar (4-21 in 4 overs). He was accurate and bowled a disciplined line and length, not allowing the HAV Solutions’ batsmen to go after him. Sushant Satam was the other bowler who made the life of HAV batsmen difficult as he picked up 3-32 in his four overs.
For his match winning bowling effort, Shankar Natekar of Sanofi was awarded with the Man of the Match prize.

Airtel One locked horns against Global Connect on 20th Feb at Cross Maidan during the Milan Mega Corporate T20 tournament. Global Connect perhaps made a blunder when they put Airtel One to bat first. Mayur More was at his very best when he scored a wonderful 78 off just 37 balls, striking at a blistering rate of over 200. Top three batsmen of Airtel One scored half centuries and smacked the Global Connect bowlers all-round the park. Airtel One posted a daunting 220-1 in 20 overs. Bharat Rathod was the lone wicket-taker for Global Connect.
Chasing a mammoth target of 221 runs was always going to be a Herculean task and it did them no good when the batting collapsed like a pack of cards. Varun Chopra top scored with 30 runs but failed to take his team home. After shining with the bat, Mayur More rolled his arm to pick a couple of wickets and had Prakash Aswani for company, who also grabbed two wickets. Gobal Connect was restricted at 137-8 in 20 overs, thus losing the match by a big margin of 83 runs.
Mayur More was honoured with the Man of the Match award for his fabulous all-round performance (78 not out and 2-10 in 2 overs).
HUS easily beat World Sports XI on 20th Feb at Prabhu Jolly Young Cricket ground, Mumbai, during Shiraz-e-Hind tournament match, courtesy Irfan Ansari’s brilliant bowling performance of 4-18 in his four overs. He was accurate and almost unplayable as he rattled the World Sports’ top order. World Sports was restricted to 112-8 in 20 overs, with middle order bat Pravin Singh top scoring with 32 runs.
In reply, it was a cake walk chase for HUS as they accomplished the target in 15.2 overs, keeping five wickets in hand. Arjun (31) and Suyog (29) anchored the HUS innings well and ensured that their team was safe. Varun was the pick of the bowlers for World Sports as he finished off with the figures of 2-20 in his two overs.
Irfan Ansari of HUS was announced as the Man of the Match for his fantastic bowling figures of 4-18 in 4 overs.
