CEX had a disappointing day with the bat against Citi bank at Azad Maidan, Mumbai on 2nd April during the Dreamz T20 Cricket Tournament. Batting first, CEX managed to post a modest 117 in their full quota of 20 overs. Nikhil Tanna top scored with 29 runs off 32 balls and received good support from Sumeet (21 runs off 16 balls). Apart from these two, rest of the CEX batting looked rusty. Alok Shastri was the star performer with the ball as he picked up a five wicket haul. Shastri finished off his miserly four-over spell with envious figures of 5-11. He bowled consistent line and lengths, not allowing the batsmen to score freely off him.

Chasing 118 runs was not a daunting challenge for a power-packed Citi batting line-up. The openers Rajeev (29 runs off 20 balls) and Hasnain (41 runs off 25 balls) provided the best possible start to their team and ensured that the run chase was a smooth one. Viraj chipped in with 26 runs off 22 balls to see his team home. Citi achieved the target in 14 overs, winning the match by six wickets. Pranav was the pick of the bowlers for CEX picking up 2-23 in his four overs.

Alok Shastri (5-11 in 4 overs) was declared as the Man of the Match for his brilliant bowling efforts.

It was a pretty one-sided contest at M.B.Union ground, Mumbai on 2nd April when Airtel took on Seaspan in Dreamz T20 Cricket Tournament match. Batting first, Airtel posted a mammoth 201-4 in 20 overs, thanks to some excellent batting at the top of the order from Jitesh Purabia (48 runs off 33 balls) and Daiwat (46 runs off 40 balls). These two provided a wonderful start and were a treat to watch. Both of them not only played attacking shots but also ran well between the wickets. In the middle order, Mayank contributed with a quick-fire 38 off 22 cherries to help his team go past the 200-run mark. Sumit and Chetan were the wicket-takers picking up couple each.

Seaspan could not match Airtel in the run chase as they were bundled out for a paltry 100 in 18.5 overs, thus losing the match by a big margin of 101 runs. Sumit top scored with 23 runs off 19 balls, but was not enough to see his team through. Shantanu was fantastic with the ball as he grabbed 3-15 in his four overs.

Jitesh Purabia (48 runs off 33 balls) was announced as the Man of the Match for his wonderful knock.

Batting first, Automotive posted a daunting 208-5 in their full quota of 20 overs. The openers Aamir Tase (63 runs off 35 balls) and Dipesh Golam (72 runs off 51 balls) provided the best possible start to their team and were a treat to watch. Golam was outstanding with the bat as he found gaps at regular intervals and peppered the boundary rope 11 times, including one six. He made a mockery of a relatively decent Nomura bowling attack. Deepak Nayak was the pick of the bowlers picking up 2-23 in his two overs.

In reply, Nomura made a mess of the run chase as they were restricted to a humble 130-9 in 20 overs, thus losing the match by a huge margin of 78 runs. Coming in at no.3 Anshul Garz played brilliantly for his 85 which came off just 58 balls, but his efforts went in vain as none of his team-mates could step up. Batting first, Zycus posted a dismal 109 runs on board. Saumya top scored with 33 runs off 15 balls and received good support from Reetam who made 22 off 23 balls. Sanhil was exceptional with the ball as he picked up 3-17 in his three overs. Karthik too, was handy with the ball grabbing 2-19 in his three overs.

Chasing 110 runs in 20 overs was not going to be that difficult. Add to this the solid start provided by the openers Nirmith (22 not out off 41 balls) and Sachin (51 runs off 44 balls) which made the chase look very easy. Sachin played some outstanding cricket and single-handedly took his team to a comprehensive victory. He had the perfect mix of defence and aggression in his entertaining knock. HUL chased down the target in 17 overs, winning the match by nine wickets.

Sachin Kawade (51 runs off 44 balls) was declared as the Man of the Match for his fantastic fifty.

Parajiya Soni put up a strong total of 162 runs on board in its full quota of 20 overs against KSG Superiors on 2nd April at Payyade Ground, Kandivali, Mumbai during the first semi-final of Kapol Premiere League. Gaurang Parekh was the star performer with the ball as he picked up a five wicket haul. Parekh finished off with the excellent figures of 5-24 in his four overs. He was consistent with his line and length and was duly rewarded for his brilliant bowling display.

In the Milan Mega Corporate T20 Tournament semi-final match that was played between National System (Dimension Data) and Akumenties on 26th March at Oval Maidan, Mumbai, National System posted a humble 136 in 20 overs. Though the openers Akshay Nagvekar (28 runs off 34 balls) and Sourabh Kadam (30 runs off 30 balls) provided a solid start to their team, the middle and lower middle order failed to capitalize on it. Pratik (31 runs off 26 balls) and Sunil (19 runs off 13 balls) played well but could not go a long way ahead. The Akumentis bowlers deserve credit as they held on together firmly, not allowing the National System batsmen to score freely. Aditya, Raju and Narayan picked up couple of wickets apiece.

Perhaps an easy chase, but Akumentis made a mess of it as they were bundled out for 118 in 19 overs. It was a close match, but in the end Akumentis fell short of mere 18 runs. Ravi Tiwari was the wrecker-in-chief as he grabbed 4-14 in his four overs. Ravi was consistent with his line and length and was right on the money from the very start. He was a treat to watch. Ankit also contributed with the ball, picking up 2-20 in his four overs. Raju top scored with 27 runs off 20 balls, but received no support whatsoever from his fellow team-mates.

Ravi Tiwari (4-14 in 4 overs) was bestowed with the Man of the Match award for his brilliant bowling display.
