Batting first, HAV Solutions was restricted to a paltry 117-6 in 20 overs against MET Sports Club on 9th April at Cross Maidan, Mumbai during the semi-final of Milan Mega Corporate T20 Tournament. Middle order bat Vijay Eddandi (50 not out off 46 balls) was the lone fighter for HAV as he could not find any able ally in his team. His efforts went in vain as the rest of the batting failed to click. Vinit was brilliant with the ball picking up 2-21 in his four overs.
Coming in at no.3, Prathamesh Mahadik (40 not out off 47 balls) single-handedly chased down the target for MET. Mahadik partnered well with opening bat Jayant (23 runs off 15 balls) and then with Aniket (20 runs off 17 balls) and Dipesh (21 runs off 19 balls). Prathamesh played some good cricketing shots in his innings and was a treat to watch. Harmeet Singh grabbed 2-20 in his four overs. MET chased down the target 18.2 overs, winning the match by six wickets.
Prathamesh Mahadik (40 not out off 47 balls) was announced as the Man of the Match for his match-winning unbeaten knock.

Winning the toss and electing to bat first, CGI posted a modest 130-6 in 20 overs against Liberty Videocon 9th April at MB Union Ground, Mumbai, during the Dreamz T20 Cricket Tournament match. Rohit (39 runs off 41 balls) and Debdeep (39 not out off 30 balls) were the top scorers for CGI, but they failed to capitalize on their starts. The credit needs to be given to Liberty Videocon bowling for restricting CGI to a below par score. Amol Pawar was the pick of the bowlers for Liberty, picking up 3-18 in his economical four-over spell. Pawar bowled in right areas throughout his spell, not allowing the batsmen to score freely off him.
Chasing 131 runs was not going to be that challenging a task. However CGI bowled well to grab seven wickets of Liberty. Opener Chetan departed cheaply for 2 runs off 6 balls, which meant that the middle order had to shoulder the responsibility. Navnath and Rohit accounted for two scalps each. In the middle overs, Abhay (25 runs off 14 balls) and Amol (35 runs off 24 balls) stitched a wonderful partnership and ensured that their team was safe. Liberty Videocon chased down the target in 16.5 overs, keeping three wickets in hand. Amol shined with both, bat and ball and played a pivotal role in his team’s win.
Amol Pawar (3-18 in 4 overs and 35 runs off 24 balls) was declared as the Man of the Match for his fantastic all-round efforts.
Blazewell locked horns against Praxis on 15th April at Gurgaon during the 1st Manager Cup 40-over Cricket Tournament. Batting first, Praxis posted a strong total of 281-6 in 40 overs. Apart from the opening bat Sandeep, who departed without troubling the scorers, rest of the Praxis batting line-up chipped in with useful contributions. Chandrapratap (51 runs off 63 balls) and Gulshan (53 not out off 22 balls) scored wonderful half centuries, with Usman making a patient 48 off 57 balls. Gulshan and Anwar (20 not out off 10 balls) accelerated towards the end of the innings to help their team to put up a respectable total on board. Akash was the pick of the bowlers picking up 2-47 in his eight overs.
Though Blazewell did not get off to the best of starts, the middle order batting that was led from the front by Kapil Mehta (163 not out off 110 balls) won the match for them. Kapil was simply exceptional with the bat as he smacked the Praxis bowlers all-round the park. Even after reaching to the century milestone, Mehta did not let loose and ensured that his team was home safe. He scored at an aggressive strike rate of close to 150. Ashutosh (25 runs off 23 balls), Nitin (22 runs off 24 balls), Ashwini (17 runs off 23 balls) and Karan (21 not out off 15 balls) chipped in with useful contributions. Blazewell acheieved the target in 36 overs, winning the match by four wickets. Anjeev and Shahid grabbed couple of wickets apiece.
Kapil Mehta (1-38 in 8 overs and 163 not out off 110 balls) was honoured with the Man of the Match award for his scintillating knock.

Eclerx was restricted to a humble 126-8 in 20 overs against Airtel on 9th April at Oval, Mumbai during the Dreamz T20 Cricket Tournament match. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Eclerx would have liked to post a better total on board but the Airtel bowlers were too good to handle for them. Ravi, Sanjeev and Daiwat picked up couple of wickets apiece and bowled economical spells, not allowing the batsmen to score freely off them. Siddesh top scored with an unbeaten knock of 30 runs coming off just 26 balls.
In reply, the opening pair of Jitesh Purabia (89 not out off 48 balls) and Daiwat (32 not out off 39 balls) played exceedingly well to take Airtel home. They chased down the target in just 14.2 overs, winning the match comprehensively by 10 wickets. Purabia was the major contributor in the partnership scoring at a brisk rate of over 150. He attacked the ball right from the word go and was in no mood to let loose until the target was achieved. Daiwat also contributed quietly to the partnership and ran well between the wickets with Jitesh. The Eclerx bowlers were smacked all-round the park and went wicket-less.
Jitesh Purabia (89 not out off 48 balls) was bestowed with the Man of the Match award for his match winning batting knock.
Batting first, HUS Films was done and dusted for a modest 123 in 19.5 overs against World Sports Event Management on 9th April at Azad Maidan, Mumbai during the Chanawala Challenger T20 match. Avdhesh Rajbhar top scored with 26 runs off 27 balls, hitting a couple of boundaries. Akshay Kamat was lethal with the ball as he accounted for 4-13 in his 3.5 overs. He bowled a disciplined line and length throughout the spell.
Though the opening bat Anand Bisht was out without troubling the scorers, Asgar Hassan (23 runs off 19 balls) and Vikram Mane (27 runs off 27 balls) consolidated the innings. Chetan Jaiswal (46 not out 31 balls) and Nilesh Tikole (17 not out off 20 balls) stitched a wonderful partnership in the middle order and helped their team achieve the target in 17.1 overs, keeping seven wickets in hand. Jaiswal was the aggressor in World Sports’ innings as he scored at a brisk strike rate of over 150. He smacked seven boundaries in his fantastic knock. Hitesh Singh picked up 2-28 in his four overs.
Chetan Jaiswal (46 not out 31 balls) was declared as the Man of the Match for his brilliant batting efforts.
Rizvi Springfield clashed against Don Bosco High School, Matunga in the semi-final of Harris Shield starting 12th April at Azad Maidan, Mumbai. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Don Bosco was bundled out for 175 runs in 72.4 overs. Yashasvi Jaiswal was the wrecker-in-chief as he bowled a magical spell grabbing 5-37. Jaiswal bowled in right areas all-throughout his spell and left the batsmen clueless. With every wicket, there was a boost in his confidence and so was his hunger for taking more and more wickets rising. Shreeraj Gharat (51 runs off 75 balls) and Divyaansh Saxena (41 runs off 47 balls) played well but could not capitalize on the strong starts they got. Rizvi ended the day one at 38 for no loss off nine overs.
Rizvi posted a mammoth 440-9 in 89 overs, thanks to Ranveer Yadav who struck an unbeaten 133 off 143 balls, hitting 15 boundaries and three sixes. He played a pivotal role in Rizvi’s batting. Suraj Pandey (42 runs off 115 balls), Harsh Tripathi (47 runs off 65 balls), Shoaib Siddiqui (49 runs off 42 balls) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (44 runs off 25 balls) also chipped in and made some useful contributions with the bat. Shreeraj Gharat was the pick of the bowlers for Don Bosco as he accounted for 6-121.
With the consent of both the captains, Rizvi was announced as the winner of the match on 1st innings lead.
Yashasvi Jaiswal (5-37 and 44 runs off 25 balls) was declared as the Man of the Match for his excellent all-round efforts.

It was quite a disappointing batting performance from Montage Entertainment when they faced Sodexo on 8th April at Elphinstone Cricket Ground, Mumbai during the JD Sports Club Corporate T20 Challenge. Jitendra Deshmukh, who was a player first, then coach and umpire is the man behind this tournament. He has different feathers to his cricketing cap.
Batting first, Montage posted a modest 107-8 in 20 overs. Aman top scored with 24 runs off 18 balls and had Ajay for company who made 20 runs off 21 cherries. Machindra Arote shined with the ball as he picked up 3-20 in his four overs.
In reply, opening bat Vishal Pendurkar single-handedly won the game for Sodexo as he cruised to a blistering unbeaten knock of 74 runs coming off just 43 balls. He smacked nine boundaries and two sixes in his entertaining knock. Vishal was the spectators’ delight. Sodexo chased down the target in 15 overs, winning the match by eight wickets. Shubham and Aman picked up one wicket each.
Vishal Pendurkar (74 not out off 43 balls) was declared as the Man of the Match for his brilliant batting efforts.
