Batting first, Automotive posted a daunting 177-6 in 20 overs against Naaptol on 7th May at Karnataka Cricket Club, Mumbai, during the Milan Mega T20 Cricket Tournament. Chetan Jaiswal top scored with an unbeaten knock of 55 runs off 37 balls smashing four boundaries and a six. Lokesh Yadav chipped in with a quick-fire 35 off 25 balls, hitting four boundaries. Avinesh and Pritam bowled well to pick up couple of wickets apiece.

Naaptol had a challenging score to chase but their batting looked off-colour. Apart from Ashish (36 runs off 34 balls), rest of the batting line-up could not contribute much with the bat. Lokesh Yadav was fantastic with the ball grabbing 3-1 in 0.5 overs. Yadav looked confident in his very first over and provided the necessary breakthroughs. Naaptol was bundled out for 111 in 17.5 overs, falling short of 66 runs.

Lokesh Yadav (35 runs off 25 balls and 3-1 in 0.5 overs) was declared as the Man of the Match for his excellent all-round efforts.

Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Wipro posted a challenging 152 in 18.4 overs against Indus Towers on 7th May at Azad Maidan, Mumbai during the Dreamz T20 Cricket Tournament. Opening bat Saurabh top scored with 31 runs off 22 balls and received good support from his partner Amit who made 30 runs off 21 cherries. Saurabh played some delightful looking shots and provided a solid start to his team. John was the pick of the bowlers picking up 3-24 in his four overs.

Though Yogesh (16 runs off 11 balls) played well at the start, Indus Towers could not put up a decent show with the bat. Saurabh who had earlier shined with the bat, rolled his arm over to pick up 4-27 in his four overs. He bowled disciplined line and length and was duly rewarded for his consistency. Navin grabbed couple of wickets as well. Indus Towers was bundled out for 89 in 13.4 overs, losing the match by 63 runs.

Saurabh (31 runs off 22 balls and 4-27 in 4 overs) was announced as the Man of the Match for his fantastic all-round efforts.

Reliance posted a respectable 140 in 19.5 overs against Airtel on 7th May in the Champions A quarter-final of Dreamz T20 Cricket Tournament. Middle order bat Yogesh top scored with 46 runs off 34 balls helping his team to put up a challenging total on board. Arif and Kalpesh were the star bowlers accounting for three wickets apiece.

In reply, Airtel chased down the target in 19.5 overs, winning the match by four wickets. Opening pair of Jitesh (23 runs off 24 balls) and Daiwat (27 runs off 33 balls) provided a solid start to their team and then it was Prakash (43 not out off 23 balls) who played a gem of an innings to see his team home. Prakash attacked the bowlers right from the word GO and was striking at a rate of close to 200. He smacked the bowlers all-round the park and was a treat to watch. Vijay was the best bowler for Reliance picking up 2-20 in his four overs.

Prakash (43 runs off 23 balls) was declared as the Man of the Match for his wonderful batting knock.

Winning the toss and electing to bat first, L’Oreal managed to put up a humble 116 in 19.2 overs against Trafigura in the Plate B quarter final of Dreamz T20 Cricket Tournament that was played in Mumbai on 7th May. Rishi (25 runs off 25 balls) and Malay (27 runs off 17 balls) played well together but failed to take their team to a challenging total as they received no support from rest of the batting line up. Samrat, Bakul and Anil picked up couple of wickets apiece. Samrat was electrifying on the field as he was responsible for two run outs as well.

117 runs did not seem to be a daunting task and the Trafigura batsmen achieved the target easily in 13.4 overs, winning the match by six wickets. Opening bat Samrat (72 runs off 44 balls) was the best batsman and played a pivotal role in his team’s victory.  He read the bowlers well and played some good looking cricketing shots in his innings. Among the L’Oreal bowlers, Sandeep was the pick of them grabbing two scalps.

Samrat (2-11 in 3.2 overs and 72 runs off 44 balls) was awarded with the Man of the Match for his match winning all-round performance.

It was a one sided affair at Azad Maidan, Mumbai on 7th May, when Insta took on Afternoon DC in the Dreamz T20 Cricket Tournament. Batting first, Insta posted a mammoth 216-4 in 20 overs, thanks to a brilliant batting performance from Aniket Juvekar (92 not out off 52 balls). Aniket was brutal on the bowlers and was a treat to watch. The southpaw was aggressive right from the start and was striking at a strike rate of close to 200. Vishal and Darshan picked up two wickets each.

Afternoon DC had one of the worst days with the bat as they were bundled out for a miserly 38 in 14.2 overs, losing the match by a huge margin of 178 runs. Devraj was the wrecker-in-chief picking up 4-8 in his economical spell of 3.3 overs. He received good support from Ronit and Kalpesh who accounted for three and two scalps respectively. Apart from Vishal (12 runs off 19 balls), none of the other batsmen could score a double digit figure.

Aniket Juvekar (92 not out off 52 balls) was bestowed with the Man of the Match award for his splendid innings.

Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Kipril posted a daunting 181 in 20 overs against MSCI on 8th May at Venus Sports Academy, Mumbai, during the Woods T20 Bowled Out Cricket Tournament. Coming lower down the order Chaitanya struck a wonderful 55 off just 29 balls, striking at a strike rate of over 200. He smacked eight boundaries and a six in his delightful innings. Sushant was the wrecker-in-chief picking up 5-28 in his four overs.

In response MSCI was done and dusted for 104 in 15.2 overs, losing the match by a big margin of 77 runs. Opening bat Siddhesh top scored with 48 runs off 28 balls but he failed to capitalize on the start and could not take his team home. Brijesh, Parshwa and Anand were exceptional with the ball accounting for two victims apiece.

Chaitanya (55 runs off 29 balls) was announced as the Man of the Match for his excellent batting.

DBS had a disappointing day with the bat against Indusind Bank on 7th May in Mumbai during the Woods T20 Bowled Out Cricket Tournament match. Batting first, DBS managed to put up a paltry 96 on board. Sagar, Kailash and Jitendra bowled well together and grabbed two scalps each. They bowled a disciplined line and length, not allowing the DBS batsmen to score freely. Coming in at no.3 Rajeev looked in good touch but was out for 22 off 23 balls against the run of play.

Indusind chased down the target in 14 overs, winning the match by four wickets. It was an easy chase for Indusind and the opening partnership between Jay (43 runs off 21 balls) and Kailash (26 runs off 31 balls) was the cherry on the cake. Both these batsmen ran well between the wickets and hit the odd boundary to keep the pressure off them. Kailash was the star performer as he contributed with both, bat and ball. Anurag managed to pick up 2-19 in his four overs.

Kailash (2-18 in 4 overs and 26 runs off 31 balls) was declared as the Man of the Match for his brilliant all-round performance.

Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Aditya Birla posted a challenging 155-5 in 20 overs against Rave Technology on 8th May at Venus Sports Academy, Mumbai, during the Woods T20 Bowled Out Corporate Cricket Tournament. Middle order bat Kedar top scored with an unbeaten knock of 49 runs coming off just 31 balls. He hit seven boundaries in his innings and received good support from Denil (31 runs off 22 balls) and Ali (24 not out off 12 balls). Akshay was the pick of the bowlers picking up 2-23 in his four overs.

In reply, Rave Technology was bundled out for 120 in 19.2 overs, losing the match by 35 runs. Denil (3-20 in 4 overs) and Adit (3-13 in 3 overs) bowled well in tandem helping their team to defend the total. Akshay played well for his 63 off 46 balls but his efforts went in vain as rest of his team-mates failed to deliver.

Kedar (49 not out off 31 balls and 1-1 in 0.2 overs) was awarded with the Man of the Match prize for his outstanding efforts.

Shivaji Park Warriors amassed a mammoth 206-6 in 20 overs against Ghatkopar Jets on 11th May at Police Gymkhana during the Mitsui Shoji T20 tournament. Akhil Rajput (38 runs off 22 balls) and Shashank Singh (46 runs off 21 balls) provided a solid start to their team’s batting and their opening partnership was instrumental in taking the Warriors to a daunting total. Singh was aggressive right from the start and was striking at a strike rate of over 200. He smacked seven boundaries and a couple of maximums in his wonderful knock. Karan Nande bowled well for his 2-23 in four overs.

Though Karan Nande (44 runs off 30 balls) started off nicely for Ghatkopar Jets, the middle order failed to capitalize on the solid start. Apart from Ashish More (61 not out off 42 balls), rest of the batting order looked listless.  The Jets were restricted to 159-8, losing the match by 47 runs. Sagar Mishra, Dhrumil Matkar and Shashank Singh finished off with two wickets each. Shashank Singh (46 runs off 21 balls and 2-34 in 4 overs) was exceptional with both bat and ball and deservingly won the Man of the Match award.

 

Batting first, Thane Marathas posted a daunting 182-9 against Bandra Heroes in Mitsui Shoji T20 League match that was played on 11th May at Police Gymkhana, Mumbai.  Mayur Rasula scored a quick-fire 36 off 16 balls, lower down the order, helping his team to put up a challenging score on board. Nishant Williams was the pick of the bowlers with 2-15 in his three overs.

In reply, Bandra Heroes came out all guns blazing and they finished off the game in style. They chased down the target in just 14.1 overs, winning the match by six wickets. Opening bat Salman Ahmad was spectacular with the bat as he hammered 109 runs in mere 46 balls, smacking 12 sixes and four boundaries. Salman was brutal on the bowlers and smacked them all-round the park. He played a magical knock to see his team through. Sujeet, Abhishek and Jitendra accounted for one scalp each.
