Fort Youngsters faced Sainath Sports Club in the Inaugural MCA Women’s League 2022-23. Batting first, Fort Youngsters scored a competitive total of 152 on board losing 5 wickets in the process. Leading the charge, Janhvi Kate smashed a 45-ball 55 as she opened the innings. She hit 8 fours and 1 six in a match-winning knock. Amisha Mhatre bowled an impressive spell of 2/5 in just 4 overs including a maiden to her name.
Sainath SC set out to chase but could manage only 85 as tight lines by the Fort Youngster bowler’s restricted the runflow. Zeal claimed 2 wickets as Kate managed to pick 1 wicket as well. A dominant performance by the Youngsters resulted in a 67-run victory.
In the Friendship Trophy 2023, Shiv Shakti CC locked horns with Rangers CC in an enticing game of cricket. Shiv Shakti CC managed to score just 152 in 20 overs for the loss of 8 wickets. Swapnil Chaudhari scored 37 off 25 for his team, forming minor partnerships along the way. Jayesh Sharma from Rangers claimed 4 wickets in 3 overs conceding just 23 runs in the process.
With a chaseable target, Rangers CC set out to chase but the Shiv Shakti bowler’s challenged the batter to the limit. Skipper Sarvesh Jain started off the innings with a 37-ball 39 as Krunal and Parikshit chipped in handy runs. Despite the runs, Rangers kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Prasad Bhosle entered the field with half of the team down for 109 in the 14th over. With anyone’s game at this point, Prasad played a crucial knock of 31 off just 22. Ultimately he was unbeaten at the end of the innings as Rangers CC managed to edge out with just 2 wickets in hand at the end of the 19th over.
For his bowling performance, Jayesh Sharma was named the Man of the Match.
In the Friendship Trophy 2023, Indiafirst Life convincingly won against FCC Mavericks by 86 runs. Indiafirst Life hammered 218 in 20 overs. Opener Vaibhav Sethi scored 42 off 35 to set the tone. Wicketkeeper Anil Ronanki smashed a 45-ball 75 through the middle stages of the game with 8 fours and 3 sixes. After him, Amit Singh Rathore finished off the innings with and unbeaten 79 off just 28 balls, With a strike rate of 282, Rathore hit 9 fours and 5 sixes. Despite the high score, Devendra Rane managed to bowl an impressive spell of 1/23 in 4 overs, claiming 1 of the 3 wickets.
Mavericks had a dismal start, losing a wicket in the first over itself but the misery didn’t end there as they were bowled out for just 132. NIkhil P scored 34 down the order but his effort came at the fag end of the innings. Dharmendra Gupta and Seshagiri Rao claimed 3 wickets each as Aman SHah’s 4/21 dismantled the Mavericks line up.

In the ongoing Friendship Trophy 2023, Rangers CC dominated against the FCC Smashers as they won the game by 45 runs. Rangers posted a total of 185 runs onboard losing 9 wickets in the process. Skipper Sarvesh Jain started off the innings by scoring 34 and forming a brief partnership with Parikshit Tripathi who went on to score 66 off just 26 balls with 6 fours and 6 sixes. On the bowling side, Sagar Nehete claimed 2 wickets along with Saurabh Solanki.
With an intimidating total onboard, FCC’s captain Nimish Tandel hammered q quick-fire 32 but they kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were ultimately restricted to just 140. Shakir Sheikh bowled 4 overs claiming 4 wickets with an economy rate of just 4 runs an over. Apart from him, Pratik Koli was also in the wickets, claiming 3 for himself.
Parikshit Tripathi was named the Man of the Match for his stellar batting performance.
In the ongoing Friendship Trophy 2023, FCC Mavericks faced the Cricket Club of Dombivli as the latter prevailed in a dominant fashion. Mavericks scored 155 in 20 overs for the loss of 9 wickets. Manoj scored a crucial 37 after losing 3 quick wickets. After him, it was skipper Hiren Lakhmani’s opportunity to contribute an unbeaten 59 of just 37 balls with 5 fours and 4 sixes. The Mavericks batting was rattled by one man, Shrikant Balwan who claimed 7 wickets. In his 4 overs, he gave away just 24 runs.
With a competitive target onboard, CCD lost an initial wicket but what followed was an onslaught by the CCD. Deepak Acharya hammered 43 off just 23 with 7 fours and 1 six to his name. After his dismissal, Arvind Iyer and Aniket Desai finished off the innings quickly. Rishi slammed 45 off 67 balls to help his team reach a respectable total. Apart from him, Vinayak Chougule score an unbeaten 45 down the order. Rishi bowled his heart out as well by claiming 6 wickets in 9 overs but as his overs ran out, Islam Gymkhana chased down the target with 2 wickets in hand. Skipper Samarth Seth had a tremendous outing for DDCA President XI against the Mayank Goswami CA (Jammu) in a T20 game. After electing to bat first, Mayank Goswami CA managed to pose a total of 148 in the first innings. Arya Suvansh playing an incredible knock of 67* off just 40 deliveries. Bhagwan Singh was the pick of the bowlers picking 2 wickets in his 4-over-spell for just 22 runs. Bhagwan Singh and Daurav Dagar claimed 2 wickets as well.
As the runchase began, Samarth lit the innings. Facing 56, the southpaw hammered an unbeaten 91 with a bombarding strike rate of 162.50. His comprised of 8 fours and 5 sixes. Seth played a captain’s knock by chasing down the target in the 19th over of the game.
Mumbai, March 30: Sports Promotion Group bowlers were a determined lot and confidently rose to the challenge to defend a low target. They picked up crucial wickets to snatch a tight 5-run win against Navaroz Cricket Club in a third round Group-B match of the 1st MCA Women’s Cricket League, played at the MCA BKC ground on Wednesday.
Sent in to bat, Sports Promotion’s innings was restricted to a meager 115 runs for four wickets from their stipulated 20 overs. The top run scorer was opener Rashi Trivedi who made 25 runs, while Navaroz CC’s medium pacer Ruhee Pandekar took 2 wickets for 22 runs.
Later, a tremendous collective performance from the Sports Promotion bowlers triggered the collapse of the Navaroz batting which finished five runs short, as they were dismissed for 110 runs in 20 overs. Medium pacers Aarnavi Krishnan (3/21), Janhavi Murthy (2/15) and Vidisha Naik (2/21) and left-spinner Ruksha Patel (2/27) were responsible to ensure Sports Promotion clinched a narrow victory.
In a totally one-sided encounter, Dashing Sports Club inspired by the mesmerizing bowling spells from off-spinner Neelakshi Talati who claimed 5 wickets without conceding a run and left-arm medium pacer Vedhasi Patil who picked 4 wickets for just 8 runs defeated Vijay Cricket Club by 10 wickets.
Batting first, Vijay CC were bowled out for a measly 25 runs and Dashing SC quickly scored 29 runs without losing a wicket to complete the win.
Meanwhile, in an interesting match, Sporting Union Club prevailed over Shivaji Park Youngsters SC by a comfortable 40 runs. Sporting Union Club scored 135 for 7 wickets in 20 overs. Juili Bhekare 30 runs, Vaibhavi Jadhav 24 runs and Rishita Chaugule 20 runs contributed to the total, while Shivaji Park bowler Manasvi Ajgaonkar claimed 4 wickets for 26 runs. Later, Shivaji Park Youngsters SC were bundled out for 95 runs in 20 overs. Vaidai Tanavade 34 top-scored with 34 runs while Riya Patel took 2 wickets for 8 runs to help Sporting Union finishing on a winning note.

Mumbai, March 29: A solid century knock from Riya Chaudhari, who scored an unbeaten 113 runs, and the testing medium pace bowling effort from Swarali Kudtarkar, who picked 6 wickets for 16 runs inspired Fort Youngsters to register a massive 251-run victory against Shantibhai Sheth Memorial CC in the third round Group-A match of the 1st MCA Women’s Cricket League, played at the MCA BKC ground on Wednesday.
Choosing to bat first, Fort Youngsters batted aggressively and piled up a mammoth total of 274 for 1 wicket from their 20 overs. Besides Riya’s stupendous innings, Mansi Patil struck and unbeaten 75 runs after Janhvi Kate was dismissed for 51 runs. Later, Shantibhai Sheth batswomen were unable to negotiate the disciplined bowling of Swarali and were dismissed cheaply for a measly 23 runs in just 10 overs.
