It was a competition between two strong sides and a healthy encounter was bound to happen in Rajkot (where the match took place). Mumbai who has a strong batting line up elected to bat first after winning the toss so that they can capitalize on the situation & post a good score on the board.
While the openers Shubham & Bhargav scored 0 & 1 respectively with Mumbai feeling the early jitters it was their talented Musheer Khan who again came to the rescue & scored a wonderful 75 off just 122 balls followed by their star batsman Suryansh Shedge scoring once again an aggressive 42 ball 54. However, it was their no.7 batsman Ayush Zimare who was the pick of the batsman scoring a brilliant 81* off 149 balls. Ayush anchored the innings coming down the order and took his team total to 312/9 in 90 overs. Mumbai definitely managed to cross the 300 run mark because of some great batting displayed by Ayush. Zimare who came in at no.7 displayed rock solid resilience at the crease and he smashed 10 classy boundaries in his knock.
Maharashtra in reply scored 165 and 96 runs and they were not able to cross the 1st innings trail of 312 runs. It was great bowling by the Mumbai bowlers who restricted Maharashtra to low scores in both the innings. Ayush Zimare who scored 81 with the bat also took 6 wickets with his left arm spin was rightly adjudged ‘player of the match’ for his all-round brilliance.
Mumbai who won the match by an innings & 51 runs will certainly move ahead In the tournament with a lot of confidence for sure.

It was the all important 2nd qualifier match for NL Dalmia vs Somaiya Institute at Oval Maidan in Mumbai. It was very important to win the match as the winner of this match would advance into the finals of the tournament. Winning the toss, Somaiya elected to field first in order to restrict Dalmia to a low total.
Somaiya succeeded in restricting them to just 122/9 in 20 overs and it was certainly a good performance by the Somaiya bowlers. Prerak was the pick of the bowlers for Somaiya as he took 3/27 in 4 overs. Dalmia were struggling at one point and were not looking good for even 120, but it was their skipper Mangesh Palav who came and changed the game for his side. Coming in at no.3, Mangesh Palav kept on scoring runs freely though wickets were tumbling from the other side. Mangesh scored a brilliant 48 ball 61 which included 6 boundaries. He also did a lot of running between the wickets and kept the scoreboard ticking.
Somaiya who succeeded in restricting Dalmia to a low total however did not succeeded with their batting as they lost the match by 4 runs. It was a nail biting encounter which remained exciting till the last over and the last ball of the game. Right arm pacer Chintan Pandya(2/21 in 4) bowled a superb last over where he conceded only 5 out of 10 runs. Deepak Jaju also bowled well for his 2/20 in 4 overs. Eventually NL Dalmia won the match by 4 runs and it was a wonderful team performance by the Dalmia boys.
Looking at the tough fight given by the NL Dalmia team in the qualifiers, they will certainly be a tough team to crack in the finals of the tournament.

It was the crucial semi-final match between two exciting teams who have played wonderfully well to reach the twilight stage of the tournament. Winning the toss, KSG Warriors won the toss and elected to field first as they have a solid batting line up in their arsenal.
KSG Thunders partially did a good job with the bat posting 220/12 in 40 overs. It was Saumil Vora at the top of the order scoring a crucial 83 and Mihir Parekh who scored a 28 ball blazing 57 which took their team total to a defendable one. Advait Chitalia(3/37) and Jwalant Dalal(4/54) were the pick of the bowlers for warriors. They broke partnerships time and again or else Thunders could have made even a bigger score than this. Chasing 221, KSG Warriors whitewashed thunders in an astounding & comfortable victory by 8.2 overs and 7 wickets. It was their aggressive and solid opener Bhavin Sanghavi who did the business for Warriors.
Right handed Bhavin Sanghavi scored a magnificent 71 ball 92 & almost played till the end. Bhavin did good running between the wickets and also smashed boundaries whenever loose balls arrived. He smashed 13 glorious fours in his 71 ball stay at the crease. Kalpesh Vora also played a fine knock of 60* off 75 balls.
The Payyade Cricket Ground in Kandivali witnessed an entertaining semi-final & Bhavin Sanghavi was adjudged ‘man of the match’ for his 92. Looking at the form Bhavin is in, he will certainly be a player to look out for in the finals.
This match was like India vs Pakistan or Pakistan vs Bangladesh as two neighbouring teams (SVIS Kandivali vs SVIS Borivali) of the same parent clashed against each other in the semi finals of the Khichadia khar tournament(at Khar gymkhana ground).
Winning the toss, SVIS kandivali elected to field first as they preferred chasing the score on a decent batting track. SVIS Borivali were off to a decent start with their first 3 batsman giving starts. However, the player who changed the game was their no.4 left handed batsman Gautam Waghela. The talented southpaw smashed 13 glorious boundaries and 4 big sixes and proved his worth with the bat. Gautam also created a good partnership with Siddhesh Jadhav who scored a crucial 40. SVIS kandivali scored 272/7 in 45 overs with the help of Gautam Waghela’s heroic innings.

SVIS Borivali won the semi finals and Gautam Waghela was adjudged ‘man of the match’ for his lustrous performance.
SVIS Borivali will certainly have positive momentum by their side when they play their finals of the tournament.
It was the second league match for Johnson & Johnson vs Prince Marine Transport at Vengsarkar Academy in Mahul. The match was crucial for both the teams to win as it would help them advance in the tournament. Winning the toss, Prince Marine elected to bat first with an aim of making a big target to pressurize the opposition
However, things hardly went in their favor as they lost as many as 8 wickets under 60 runs. It was only until Arman at no.9 played a crucial cameo with his unbeaten 32 ball 40* which took their team total to 116/9 in 20 overs. The chief destroyer of Prince Marine batting line up was right arm medium pacer Omkar Jadhav who took 5/18 in 4 overs. It was a spellbinding spell which completely broke the entire batting line up of Prince Marine. He took 5 wickets out of which his inswinger which clean bowled the opener (Imtiyaz) was his personal favorite.
Chasing 117, Johnson and Johnson sailed smoothly until they lost a few wickets in the middle. Once again, Omkar Jadhav came in at no.6 and played the role of a finisher too with his 30* off 22 balls. Omkar whose favorite player is Hardik Pandya is surely following his footsteps for sure. Johnson & Johnson won the match by 5 wickets and 1.4 overs to spare & Omkar Jadhav was rightly adjudged ‘man of the match” for his all round performance.
Looking at the form he is currently in, Omkar will certainly be a player to look out for in the coming matches of the tournament.

It was the first match of the tournament between Anjuman Islam and Narayan Jr. College at MB union, Cross Maidan in Mumbai. Anjuman Islam skipper won the toss and elected to bat first after winning the toss. The match was reduced to 35 overs from 37 due to penalty of slow over rate.

Anjuman Islam batted well as they posted a target of 280 runs for Narayan Jr.College. Right handed Anjuman skipper Mihir Agarwal smashed an aggressive 133* which was the highlight of the Anjuman’s innings. Mihir was not only the pick of the batsman but he also played with controlled aggression. Mihir kept on rotating the strike nicely and also smashed boundaries whenever it was needed. The skipper almost scored half of the team runs where he smashed most of the boundaries through the covers (which was his favorite area). Agarwal surely played the captain’s role to perfection.
Chasing 280 against a strong bowling line up of Anjuman is always tough. Narayan Jr.college was restricted to a very low total of 41 and Anjuman won their 1st match of the tournament by a big margin. Right arm off-spinner Mohamad Salman yielded magic with the ball with wonderful bowling figures of 7/14(6) which also played a huge role in destroying the whole batting line-up of the opposition team.
Skipper Mihir Agarwal was adjudged “man of the match” for his splendid knock of 133* and it was really good to see him dedicate his innings to coach Umesh Patwal sir who helped him change his technique in just a month (since he took him under his wings) We certainly wish Skipper Mihir and his whole team continue their good form in the coming matches of the tournament.

It was a very important quarter final match between JSW XI and Viacom 18 at Vengsarkar Academy in Mahul. JSW won the toss and elected to bowl first as they had a good batting line-up to chase the score.
Viacom 18 were off to a good start with Aditya and Amol giving good starts but none of the batsman after them fired. It was because of that reason Viacom 18 were left to only 123/10 in 20 overs. Right arm off break bowler Ishaque Shaikh bowled an excellent spell of 4/20 in 4 overs which played a huge role in restricting them to 123. Ishaque also consistently broke partnerships which further dented their aim of making a big score.
Chasing 124, JSW steel won the match in style by 8 wickets and 3.4 overs to spare. Once again left handed Ishaque Shaikh scored 45* off 56 (6 fours) balls and stayed till the end to chase the score in style for JSW. M Shetty also gave good support scoring a 34 ball 46*(5 fours). JSW won the match and Ishaque Shaikh was adjudged ‘man of the match” for his brilliant all-round performance.

It was the all important final match of the PKSA winer T10 league cricket tournament 2017 between Pillai’s XI vs Kurla Cricket Club. Both the teams had fought hard in their previous two encounters to reach this all important final match of the tournament.
Kurla Cricket Club won the toss and elected to bat first in order to make a big score and put the opposition team under pressure. Kurla succeeded in their quest as they were able to manage 113/2 in 10 overs which was a very good score to defend. Sohail Shemle was the pick of the batsman for Kurla as he scored a stroke laden 33 ball 68 to take his team total to a respectable position. Chasing at 11.4 runs per over, Pillai’s team were not off to a good start as they were 18/2 at one stage and the chase looked tough at one time. However, things took a complete u-turn when Raju entered the crease and smashed a brilliant cameo of 45* off just 20 balls. The right hander displayed Maxwell type fireworks at the crease and once again raised the hopes of winning. Eventually, Pillai won the final match and Raju remained unbeaten till the end on 45* along with Vivek who gave him good support with his 30*.

A big thanks must also go to the organizers of the tournament right from PK Sports Academy, Vasudev Patil, Sagar Khandagale and Atther sheikh without whom the tournament could not have been a success.

It was very crucial for Royals from NIL Yog to defeat KSG strikers who has already qualified for the semis. The Payyade ground (kandivali) had a wet outfield & KSG elected to field first to make the most of the pitch conditions and restrict them to the lowest total possible.
Royals played fairly decent cricket as they posted a healthy score of 279/12 in 40 overs. Amar Bhuta (81) and Ripal Mehta (50) were the pick of the batsman for Royals. KSG bowlers also did a collectively good performance as 5 bowlers from their side took 2 wickets each to restrict the opposition. Chasing 280 is not the easiest of targets but opener Rajesh Mehta (71) and no.3 batsman Kunal Mehta (38) stitched a good partnership at the top of the order. The positive momentum was continued by their wicketkeeper batsman Dhaval Goradia who smashed a match winning knock of 85* coming off just 54 balls. Dhaval counter attacked the bowlers at will and smashed 10 fours and 2 big sixes to complete the chase in style for his side. Dhaval actually played the finisher’s role to perfection for KSG strikers.
KSG Strikers gave chance to all those players who did not get a chance earlier as they have qualified for the semi finals & most of them performed nicely. KSG Strikers won the match with the loss of just 4 wkts and 4 overs to spare and Dhaval Goradia was adjudged ‘man of the match’ for his great performance. We wish Dhaval and the whole team continue their good form in the semi finals.
