It was the all important finals of the Masters Cup which all the teams of the tournament were waiting for at Elf Vengsarkar Academy, Oval, Mumbai. RIKA GLOBAL & RAVE technology, both the teams had fought hard to reach at this juncture & it was a do or die finals for both the teams. Rave Technology won the toss & elected to bat first & put RIKA under pressure by restricting them to a low score.

Batting first, Prakash Patil & Aakash Patil gave a decent start to the innings. Prakash was out for 22 off just 11 balls but the other Patil remained solid at the other end and went on to score a 57 ball 72 for his team. Right-handed opener Aakash Patil came up with a perfect knock when it was needed from him at the right time as he scored his 72 runs at a strike rate of 126. Aakash smashed 9 glorious boundaries and a big six and kept the scorecard ticking. The rest of the batsman could not convert their 10’s & 20”s like Aakash & eventually Rika managed to reach a respectable & competitive score of 170/7 in 20 overs. Mihir was the pick of the bowlers with bowling figures of 3/37 in 4 overs followed by a wicket each for Paras, Anoop, R Jain & R Priyank.

Chasing 174 at almost 8 runs per over, Rave Technologies succumbed to the good bowling and pressure of chasing in the finals as they were all out for 123/10 in 19.2 overs. R Aaraf was the pick of the bowlers taking 3/8 in his 3 overs and get best bowler of the tournament followed by 3/31 by T Shubham. Aakash Patil who scored 72 also took a wicket to make it a complete all-round performance.

RIKA GLOBAL won the finals by 47 runs & Aakash Patil was rightly adjudged ‘man of the match’ for his 57 ball 72 & a wicket. Cricketgraph congratulates Aakash on his splendid performance & also wishes RIKA Global all the luck for a great future ahead.

It was the all important Quarter-finals between Kotak & HPE at Kamat Cricket Ground (Shivaji Park) Dadar, Mumbai.  Kotak who have a strong batting line up decided to make the most of the conditions and elected to field first & restrict them to a low score.

Their decision to bowl first did pay dividends as HPE managed to reach only 117/9 in 20 overs. The bowlers did a good job in containing the batsman & also kept on taking wickets at regular intervals. Left arm spinner Sagar Khatri was the pick of the bowlers taking 4/13 in his 4 overs followed by Vikram Shah who also bowled well with bowling figures of 3/17 in 4 overs. Both the bowlers were taking wickets in tandem & effectively played the role of ‘destroyers in chief’ for HPE team. Ravi was the only shining hope for HPE where he scored a 44 ball 40 and helped his team reach at least 117.

Chasing 118, Kotak won the match in the most fashionable way as they finished the chase in just 13.2 overs with a loss of just 1 wicket. Right handed opening batsman Rugved Chaudhary wrecked havoc over the opposition as he remained unbeaten in his 47 ball blazing knock of 81*. Rugved played at a strike rate of 180+ & smashed 14 glorious boundaries in it. It was for sure a perfect captain’s knock which handed over his team a win by 9 wkts.

It was a good quarter finals for Kotak where Sagar and Vikram bowled well while skipper Rugved finished the chase in style. Rugved Chaudhary was adjudged ‘man of the match’ too for his match winning knock. Considering the form Rugved and his whole team is in, they will certainly be a tough competition for the opposition in the semi-finals.

It was a crucial league encounter between New Hind Sports Club & ABIS Rizvi S.C at Navroze Cricket Ground, Mumbai. Both the teams are strong & an exciting competition was bound to happen. NHSC won the toss & elected to bowl first and make the most of the conditions.

Batting first, Rizvi were not off to the best starts as their 1st four batsman were out under 50 runs & it looked the decision of bowling first was correct by NHSC until the next two batsman Ali & Mohit Tanwar arrived at the crease. Both the batsman stitched a 100+ match winning partnership to rescue their team out of trouble. R Ali scored a fluent 66 while the dashing Mohit Tanwar scored a magnificent 69* coming off just 41 balls. Right-handed Mohit smacked 6 fours and 2 huge sixes in his counter attacking knock and remained unbeaten till the end. Infact It was because of his presence at the crease the team managed to reach 189/5 in 20 overs. Atharva was the pick of the bowlers taking 4/37 but he lacked support from the other bowlers which resulted in a big total.

Chasing 190, the opposition team NHSC were all out for a paltry 82 in 17.3 overs and handed over a big margin victory to ABIS Rizvi by 108 runs. Samad Shaikh was the pick of the bowlers taking 3 wkts and he got good support from the other bowlers too. JPV Reality & Hurricanes faced other for an important league encounter at Payyade Cricket Ground in Kandivali. Winning the toss, (KSG Stars) JPV Reality elected to bat first since the pitch was dry & particularly good to bat on which would help them post a decent target on the board & keep Hurricanes under pressure.

Batting first, JPV did a fairly good job scoring 162/11 in 20 overs.  Though opener Parashar was out for 1, it was their right handed opener Dushyant Doshi who scored a solid half century at the top of the order laying the foundation for JPV’s innings. Dushyant Doshi scored an aggressive 59 off just 48 balls & smashed 6 fours & a six at a strike rate of almost 123. Umang Shah scored a good 28 ball 33 but it was the late onslaught by Shitanshu Parekh who scored a 14 ball 36(4 fours and 2 sixes) which took his team’s total to 162 in 20 overs. Manan Mehta was bowling really & was the pick of the bowlers with bowling figures of 3/22 in 3 overs followed by 3/37 by Parth Mathuria and 2 wkts for Dhruv Doshi.

Chasing 163, Hurricanes for Acry Organics were not off to a great start with their openers Manan & Rakesh Mehta out for 19 & 0 respectively. However, it was their no.8 & no.9 batman Akash Bhuta and Karan Mehta who ignited some hopes for Hurricanes as both the players gave their best down the order stitching a great 60+ partnership & scoring 30*(20) & 27*(22) respectively. Umang Sheth was the pick of the bowlers taking 2/15 in 3 overs followed by a wicket each for Shitanshu, Nirav, krunal, Harshil & Vipul.

KSG Stars from JPV Reality won the match by 16 runs & Dushyant Doshi was adjudged ‘man of the match’ for his superb knock at the top of the order. Cricketgraph wishes Dushyant & his whole team all the luck for the matches to come.

Please don’t get surprised if Suryansh gets featured again & again in the news, the boy is on a roll & has been performing exceedingly well since a very long time & it is certainly a indicator that Suryansh as well as this boy Aayush (not the 1st time for Ayush too) are made for bigger things in the world of cricket & they have a long way to go & they certainly have a bright future ahead.

It was the league match between Sanjeevani Cricket Academy & Suresh XI played at Navroz, Azad Maidan, Mumbai. Winning the toss, Sanjeevani Cricket Academy elected to bat first since their batting line-up is fairly strong on any given day. Their frontline opener Ayush Zimare scored a scintillating knock of 78 coming off just 64 balls. Ayush kept the run rate as well as the scorecard ticking and hardly wasted any time at the crease. Their no.3 star batsman Suryansh once again showed the world that he is made of & time and again proves that he is made for the bigger things in cricket by scoring an aggressive 97 coming of just 45 balls. Right-handed Suryansh dismantled the bowlers confidence & was scoring at will in all parts of the ground. Sanjeevani Cricket Academy managed to make a big total of 225/5 thus putting the opposition under pressure.

Chasing such a big target, the pressure was quite evident on Suresh’s XI as they were faltered out for just 65 runs. They were all out for 65 and handed over a big victory of 160 runs to the opposition. Left-arm spinner Aayush Zimare also took a wicket while Shubham was the pick of the bowlers taking 4/6 in his 5 overs.

Sanjeevani Cricket Academy won the match comfortably & all-rounder Aayush Zimare and Suryansh Shedge were adjudged ‘man of the match’ for their brilliant individual performances. It was the crucial league match between KSG Strikers & Super Kings at the Payyade Cricket Ground in Kandivali. Super Kings who won the toss thought of making the most of the pitch conditions and put KSG to bat first & restrict them to a low score and put the under pressure.

Batting first KSG strikers were off to a fine start with both their openers Deepak Valia & Rakesh Mehta giving a good start to the team. While Rakesh made a 23ball 33, it was the left handed Deepak Valia who scored a thoughtful half-century for his side. Deepak Valia scored 51 off 48 balls & smashed 5 fours in it. Valia also did good running between the wickets and kept the scorecard ticking. No.3 batsman Rippal Mehta brought up another half century for his side coming off just 36 balls. Rippal’s knock of 56 came of just 36 balls at a strike rate of 150 & included 3 big sixes in it. Eventually, KSG strikers managed to reach a defendable total of 170/5 in 20 overs which is good enough on any day to give a tough

fight. Bhavin bhuta was the pick of the bowlers for Super Kings taking 2/16 in 2 overs for Super Kings.

Chasing 171 in 20 overs, Super Kings gave a tough fight but eventually fell short of 21runs, Only three batsman from their side were able to cross their scores in 2 digits with Rakesh Mehta being the leading scorer for them scoring a well fought 44 off 29balls*(8fours).  Manoj Mehta & Jitesh Parekh chipped in with 2 wickets each but it was their opening batsman Deepak Valia who finished this game with an all-round show. left arm bowler Deepak Valia was the pick of the bowlers taking 3/23 in 3 overs.

KSG Strikers won the match by 21 runs and Deepak Valia was adjudged ‘man of the match’ for his great batting and bowling. Cricketgraph wishes the whole team luck as well as wishes Deepak Valia to keep playing such fantastic cricket in the coming matches & help his team win the tournament. 

Semi-final matches are always exciting to watch and such was the game between Intelenet Global & BMC Krida Bhavan at Bharat CC Maidan, Shivaji Park in Dadar. BMC won the toss and elected to field first with an aim of restricting them to a low score in a big ground like Bharat CC Ground Shivaji Park Dadar, Mumbai.

However, Intelenet had a string of big time players who did the job for their side. Opener Rupesh was out for 6 but their star batsman Priyank (who has also played Ranji for Gujarat) remained unbeaten till the end of the innings. Priyank scored an unbeaten 110* off just 110 balls (6 fours) and played the anchors role to perfection. He was also given great support by Kalpesh Sawant who scored a brisk 57 off 53 balls (6 fours). Both the players stitched a match winning partnership of almost 130 runs which laid the foundation of their innings. But the Patel power was not completed yet as no.4 batsman Sunny Patel (Played Ranji Trophy for Gujarat in 2008) came in & scored a blitzkrieg 65* coming off just 25 balls(6 fours) & remained unbeaten with Priyank before they reached a team total of 245/2 in 35 overs.  While Priyank’s knock was all class and sublime, Kalpesh played the supporting role & Sunny came in as a special ‘heroic’ cameo (like in films) & did his job wonderfully well.

Chasing 246, BMC succumbed to the tight bowling of Intelenet & managed to reach only 165/8 in 35 overs. All the bowlers did a good job right from leg spinner Ajit Gopalakrishnan taking 3/24(7) followed by Sunny Patel who also scalped 2 wickets (2/25 in 5 overs) with his leg spin making it a complete all-round performance. Maninder Singh also bowled well taking 2/29 in his 4 overs.

Intelenet won the semi-final match by 80 runs and the ‘Patel Boys’ dominated the match outright to help their team win the match. Priyank & Sunny were collectively adjudged ‘man of the match’ & Cricketgraph wishes both the players to keep shining. Cricketgraph also wishes the whole team to go & win the finals too.

It was the all important semi-final match of the tournament at the Bharat CC Ground, Shivaji Park and an exciting competition was bound to happen as both Reliance & Route SC are strong teams & have fought their way hard to reach the semi-finals of the tournament. Route SC won the toss & elected to bat first and put Reliance group under pressure by posting a healthy total on the board.

Opener Pranay Patil was out for 1 but Arun Yadav & no.3 batsman Vishal Dagaonkar played good cricket to stabilize the Route’s innings. Arun Yadav 48(47) & Vishal 54(42) stitched a magnificent partnership & also kept the scorecard ticking as both the players smashed around 11 boundaries and a six collectively together. Siddarth and Sumit at the middle order also chipped in with a quick 32 & 25 respectively which helped their team total reach a respectable 231/10 in 35 overs.  Right arm off-spinner Prathamesh Pawar was the pick of the bowlers taking 3/53 in 7 overs. Pawar did a great job with the ball followed by 2 wkts each for Mangesh Jadhav, Omkar Jadhav & Rohit Bhalla.

Chasing 232 in 35 overs, Reliance group were off to a good start with their opener Rohit Kher scoring 58 off 51 balls & no.3 batsman Sanket Jadhav scoring a fluent 44. That was not all as their all-rounder Prathamesh Pawar scored a scored a magnificent 91* off just 77 balls(5 fours). Prathamesh who had taken 3 wickets was also the star batsman for Reliance. The rest of the batmen were not able to give much of a support but Prathamesh kept on fighting till the end. In fact 13 runs were needed of the last over & Reliance lost the match falling short of just 6runs as they managed to reach 225/6 in 35 overs. Siddarth was the pick of the bowers taking 2/20 in 4 overs followed by their left arm spinner Hitesh Parmar who took 2/33 in 7 overs. 

It was a well-fought match and both the teams gave their best. Infact this is how semi final matches should be! Prathamesh Pawar who scored 91* and took 3 wkts was adjudged ‘man of the match’. Cricketgraph wishes him luck and also wishes Route SC to keep playing such good brand of cricket in the finals and win the tournament.

GBSC & Raheja Sports Club faced each other for a crucial league encounter at Aarey Bhaskar Ground, Goregaon East, Mumbai. Raheja Sports club who have a good batting line up elected to bat first after winning the toss & make the most of the conditions to put GBSC under pressure.

Batting first, Raheja Sports club were not off to the best starts as both their openers Gaurav & Ashish did not trouble much with their scores.  No.3 Ravishankar & Vikas Chandak did infuse some life back to their innings as both scored 58 off 44 & 33 off 24 respectively. They made a decent partnership and upped the run rate for their team. No.9 Ganesh Gore also chipped in late with a 16 ball 26* pushing their team’s total to 142/7 in 20 overs. Right-arm spinner Vishal Pendurkar was the destroyer in chief with bowling figures of 4/28 in 4 overs. Vishal bowled exceedingly well and kept on giving important breakthroughs which did not allow the opposition to cross even the 150 run mark in 20 overs.

Chasing 143 in 20overs is not the toughest task & GBSC finished off the chase at 146/4 in just 16.2 overs with 3.4 overs & 6 wkts to spare. Vishal Pendurkar was not done yet as he also played one of the blazing knocks of the tournament remaining unbeaten on 89*. The right handed all-rounder scored 59 off just 54 balls & smashed 16 fours and a big six to enthrall his team & the spectators & helping his side win the match by 5 wkts.

All in all it was a great day in the office for Vishal Pendurkar and his team & Cricketgraph wishes that Vishal’s good form stays for a long long time & so does his team’s performance.

Abis XI and MIG Academy faced each other for a crucial league match at the Navroz Cricket Ground, Azad Maidan, Mumbai. Team Abis who have a fairly strong batting line up elected to bat first after winning the toss & make the most of the conditions to put the opposition under pressure.

Batting first, it was not the best of the starts with openers losing their wickets early & one of the openers Samad being out for a duck. However, right-handed Abhinav singh came to the rescue and scored a splendid 64 runs to take his team out of the trouble. Singh’s 64 came off just 52 balls and he scored runs freely in all the parts of the ground. Yes he is the same Abhinav who had scored a fast double hundred (204 off 183) in the Giles Shield Tournament in December 2016. The rest of the batsman also played well chipping in with 30”s and 20’s which eventually helped them reach a total of 194/7 in 25 overs. From the bowling department, Atharva was the pick of the bowler taking 2/24 in 5 overs.

Chasing 195, MIG team were all out for just 105 runs with their no.3 batsman More who was the only one who looked good for his 41. The bowlers did a good job with the ball where Arun Gupta bowled well taking 2/13 in 4 overs.

Abis XI won the match by 90 runs and Abhinav Singh was adjudged ‘man of the match’ for his wonderful knock which helped his team post a good total to defend on the board. Cricketgraph wishes Abhinav & his whole team for a great journey ahead in the future.
