Amit Patade who scored 42 was looking set but Akash took his wicket too to break their momentum & shift it in their favor. Out of the 3 wkts aakash took, 2 were clean bowled & that speaks a lot about his effectiveness with the ball.
KCA won the match against SMCA by 11 runs & Aakash was adjudged ‘man of the match’ for his all-round contribution. Cricketgraph also congratulates Akash & the whole team for their commendable win.
It was yet another crucial semi-finals on 14th march between Central Railways & Mumbai Customs at RCF Ground, Chembur. Mumbai Customs won the toss & elected to field first to restrict Central Railways to a low total.
Batting first Central Railways did a commendable job even though the openers were not able to give a solid start. No.3, 4 & 5 batsman did a fine job with the bat as all of them chipped in with 30’s and 40’s. While Amit & Harshad scored quick 30’s it was Vinit Daka at no.5 who changed the game with his batting onslaught. Batting first, it wasn’t the best of the days for FSCA as they lost as many as 7 wkts in the first half of their innings under 40 runs. It was Rohit at no.8 who was the highest scorer for their team with a quick 23 down the order which took their team total to 90 in 18.3 overs. Left-arm pacer Vishweshwar Singh was the pick of the bowlers with bowling figures of 3/19 in 3 overs. Vishweshwar was able to touch 140 k’s per hour & that was quite commendable. Singh was completely successful in upsetting the batsman with his line, length & pace which also helped him take a hat-trick in the finals. Left arm pacers are itself a rarity & Vishweshwar certainly gave us the vibes of Mitchell Starc when he was bowling in full flow.
Chasing 91 in 20 overs, Arbuda won the match by 9 wkts & 10.1 overs to spare. Opener Dinesh meant business right from the 1st ball as he remained unbeaten on 61*(9 fours, 2 sixes) & played the role of a finisher to perfection.

It was the all important semi-final match between two strong sides namely Fort Vijay & M.I.G Cricket Club in Mumbai. Fort Vijay who have a good batting line-up elected to bat first and post a big total on the board to put the opposition under pressure.

Batting first, Fort Vijay could have batted more nicely considering their strong batting line up but eventually they were all out for 237/10 in 67.2 overs. Pankaj jaiswal was the pick of the batsman scoring a solid century for Fort Vijay. It was surely a match-winning knock which pushed their team total to 247 or they would have been all-out for a much lesser total. Pankaj was the leading scorer with 107 followed by 46 & 30 by Rahul Lad & Sanket Bhaye. The bowlers did a fairly good job with the ball by restricting them below 250 which is a good score to chase. Nikhil Date was the pick of the bowlers for M.I.G with bowling figures of 3/54.
M.I.G Cricket club bowled well but it was not the same case when it came to their batting as they were bundled out for just 107 runs. Once again the spin duo of Farhan Kazi and Sagar Udeshi did the job for their team. Both these bowlers together have almost become a pair like Harbhajan-kumble or Jadeja-Ashwin bowling together in tandem for their team. Left-arm leg-spinner Sagar Udeshi took 4/37 followed by 3/35 by Farhan Kazi which completely cleaned up the MIG batting line up.
Fort Vijay CC won the semi-finals by 130 runs & Cricketgraph congratulates the whole team & especially Pankaj, Sagar & Farhan for their exceptional performance. We also wish that they continue their good form & go on to win the tournament.

D.Y Patil won the toss and elected to bat first since they have a very strong depth in their batting to make a big 1st innings score.
The powerful batting line-up of D.Y Patil lived up to their expectations and managed to score 350/10 in 60.2 overs. Their star batsman Shreyas Iyer once again showed his class & mettle as he fell just 4 runs short of a wonderful double century. Right-handed Shreyas Iyer scored a mammoth 196 which was nothing short of flawless & full of class. Iyer kept on piling runs from the other end though wickets were tumbling from the other side. He smashed bowlers at will and hardly looked deterred by any bowlers. Anand Bias & Subramaniam also contributed nicely with the bat scoring 66 & 44 respectively. The bowlers could have done a better job but it was particularly good bowling by Deepak Shetty & Vishal Dabholkar who picked up 4/66 & 4/129 respectively.
Chasing 351 against a big team like D.Y in semi-finals is always tough & Parkophene Cricketers did appear to succumb to that pressure as they were all out for just 238 runs in 60.4 overs. Prasad Pawar (57) , Onkar Khanvilkar (45) and Sufiyan (33) batted well but there was no support from the other end. Both these batsman looked confident & were hardly deterred by the pressure of the finals. The OCC (Ours cricket club) did a fairly good job with the ball & succeeded in containing them to a low total.
Chasing 186 is not the toughest but Rizvi is a string team which has an equally good bowling line-up. Rizvi bowlers did a fantastic job with the ball & bundled out the opposition for just 78 runs in 25.3 overs. Ayush Vartak was the only one with a respectable score of 38. The rizvi spinners did a great job with the ball as the off-break trio of Varun, Umar Khan & Mohit Tanwar picket up 5 wkts together with 2 wkts each for Umar and Varun.

Left-handed Sumeet Sharma & Gangadhar Ingole were the only two who looked good against the Automotive bowlers. Automotive bowlers did a good job with the ball & managed to take wickets & break partnerships consistently. They also hardly leaked away runs which proved to be beneficial for them.
Chasing 179, Automotive did not displayed the best of batting as much as they did with the ball. Team Automotive was all out for 175 falling short of just 3 runs. DTDC fought back well & did an excellent job with the ball especially their leg-spinner Virendra Yadav who bowled a mesmerizing spell of 5/23 to dismantle the opposition.
