It was a match where the skipper played his role to perfection while their wicket-keeper did his job with aplomb. It was an exciting encounter between ICICI securities & Bajaj Alliance Life Insurance at the Western Railways Cricket Ground in Mumbai. ICICI securities won the toss & elected to bat first since they have a good batting line up & the pitch was also looking decent enough to bat on.
It was a good perfomance by the ICICI players as they managed to score 158/5 in 20 overs. A 150+ score is always defendable & ICICI managed to cross that 150+ mark. Opener Javeed Siddiqui scored a solid 49ball 64 at the top of the order which largely created a positive momentum for the team. Javeed who is looking in good form & fresh from a half century from the Masters Cup looked confident & solid at the crease. Javeed smashed 5fours & a six and also did good running between the wickets. Wicket-keeper batsman Amod Bagwe also scored a gutsy half-century at the middle order & remained unbeaten till the end helping his team total to cross the crucial 150 run mark. Amod scored 54* off just 41 ball & smashed 6fours & a six in it. All the bowlers chipped in but it was Aman who was the pick of the bowlers taking 2/22 in his 3 overs.
Chasing 159, it was a tough fight given by Bajaj Alliance as they managed to score 151/6 in 20 overs. They lost by a mere 8 runs and the match remained exciting till the very end. Overall it was a good fightback from the ICICI bowlers where they eventually defended their target. Riyaz was the pick of the bowlers & was quite effective as he came up with bowling figures of 3/25 in 4 overs. Javeed also chipped in with the ball & took a wicket to make it an all-round perfomance. Amod Bagwe was the perfect wicket-keeper as he also did 3 stumpings & proved to be an asset for his side.
ICICI won the match by 9 runs & Javeed and Amod’s perfomance were the highlights of the match. It was also good to see skipper Javeed sharing his ‘man of the match award’ with Amod in good spirits. Cricketgraph congratulates the ICICI team on their win & wishes them all the luck for their upcoming matches.

The BPCL Gymkhana ground witnessed an exciting and tough finals between L&T & Air India on 6th April 2017. It was a pitch which was slightly tilted towards the bowlers but Air India won the toss & elected to bat first to make a big total on the board.
Batting first, the good bowling by L&t restricted Air India to only 109/6 in 20 overs. Akshay sawant & Sandesh Kawale were the pick of the batsman scoring 20 off 25 & 20 off 28 respectively. B.M mudaliar later chipped in with a 11ball 14 to push the Air India total to 109/6 in 20 overs. Pace spearhead Shashank Tomar of L&T bowled exceptionally well and returned with bowling figures of 4-0-14-2 including a big wicket in the first over itself. Bhagwan Sanap 4-0-18-1 and Abhimanyu Singh 4-0-21-1 kept a check on their run scoring on a wicket which was difficult to bat on due to its variable pace and bounce.
A target of 110 runs in a modern T20 format sounds easy but the underprepared wicket made it difficult. Abhimanyu Singh gave L&T a flying start in a low scoring run chase by scoring a quickfire 20 off just 15 balls which included 4 boundaries. Teamscore was at a healthy 24/0 in 3 overs at one stage but two quick wickets put L&T on the back foot. L&T then played cautiously and most crucial partnership of 51 runs between Ajith Nair(18 of 15 balls) and Ajinkya Parte (45 of 51 balls) was established which ensured the path towards victory. Quick wickets in the later part of the innings created some worries but L&T crossed the victory line by 4 wickets and 7 balls to spare.
From Air india medium fast bowler Abhishek patil was the wrecker in chief who returned with bowling figures of 3.5-0-26-3
Highlight of the match from L&T was Ajinkya Parte’s match winning innings and Shashank Tomar’s bowling. Ajinkya Parte was awarded with the Man of Match trophy and Jagdish Sorkhade (Captain) was awarded with Man of the Series Trophy. Cricketgraph congratulates the whole team for their finals victory & wishes them all the luck for a great future ahead.

Legspin is itself an art and not everybody can excel at it but right arm legspinner Abhimanyu Vaishist made his presence felt right on his very 1st match against Combwed CC in the 68th Salar Jung Tournament. At Parsee Gymkhana Ground, Parsee Gymkhana & Combwed CC faced each other for a crucial encounter where Combwed CC won the toss & elected to bat first with an aim of making a big one.
However, it was’nt the best of the days in the office as Combwed CC got bundled out for a mere 71runs in 13.3 overs. Hardly any batsman fired from Combwed apart from their middle order batsman Ankit Kanadia who scored a fighting 31 off 34balls. Had he not scored that 31, the team would have not crossed even 50 runs. As their skipper Raunak Sharma shared with cricketgraph ‘
was on his debut & it was simply amazing to see him bowl genuine legspin & confuse the batsman, it was quite a commendable perfomance for a 17yr old debutant ’ Abhimanyu came up with bowling figures of 4/27 in 3.3 overs followed by a maiden over & 2wkts for Ankit Bevandkar.
Chasing 76 was a mere cakewalk for the opposition as Parsee Gymkhana won the match by 7wkts & 9.3 overs to spare. Arjun Shetty remained unbeaten with his 24ball 32* while skipper Raunak 10*off3balls) finished the game with a 4 & a six to complete the chase in style

It was the all important match between Worli Sports Club & Muslim united C.C of the Salar Jung Tournament. Muslim United CC won the toss & elected to field first with an aim of putting the opposition under pressure.
It was a shaky start as their opener Sandesh was out for 6 but their other opener Viraj Gamare scored a brutal 74 off just 35 balls. Viraj smashed the bowlers like a man on mission and hardly spared any bowlers who came in his way. Viraj played with complete authority as he smashed as many as 9fours & 4 big sixes to enthrall his team mates and the spectators alike. Manoj Yadav at the middle order also chipped in with a quick 32 which pushed the team total to 210/8 in 20overs. Almost every bowler got smashed but Sajid Pathan was the pick of the bowlers taking 3/22 in 3 overs.

They managed to reach as much as 199 in the 2nd innings & the match remained exciting till the very end. It was the all-important nail biting finals between two powerful teams namely Datamatics & C.M.I (Common Man India) at the Fort Vijay ground in Mumbai. CMI won the toss & elected to field first with an aim of restricting Datamatics to a low score and chase it down.
Batting first, it was a decent perfomance by the Datamatics batsman as they managed to score 155/6 in 20overs. Opener Nikhil was out for a low score but Malang Aras tried giving a good start chipping with 29 off just 31balls. Prem Rajbhar & Dhruvin Dharmasey gave crucial contributions at the middle scoring 32 off 20 & 22 off 21respectively. Skipper Rohidas Koyande chipped in with a 4ball 12* to push his team total to 150+(155/6) in 20 overs. C.M.I bowlers did a good job but could have been a little more tight considering it was finals to try & restrict them under 130-140.
Chasing 156, the pressure of chasing rubbed on to the C.M.I team as they were all out for mere 91runs in 17.3 overs. Pace bowler Rohidas Koyande was the pick of the bowlers taking 3/13 in his 4 overs followed by a wicket each for Kuldeep, Vinayak, Ritesh & Dhruvin.
As shared with Cricketgraph “solid knocks by Malang Aras (opening the batting for Datamatics) while power hitting by Pratik Chaudhary and Prem Rajbhar were the fundamental blocks of the Datamatics win”. It was also a great all-round show by their skipper Rohidas Koyande. It was the nerve jangling & intense finals after a string of hard fought matches for Bernard Shipping Ltd & LTOSA at Fort Vijay Ground in Mumbai. It was a turning track which was quite helpful for spinners but surprisingly Bernard Shipping took the decision to bat first & to make a huge total on the board.
However, the turning track showed its colors as their opener Rahul was out on the very 1st ball. Eventually they came back & stitched up a good start in the first 7 overs until the spinners came & changed the game. Right-arm leg break bowler Abhimanyu Singh took 2wkts in his very 1st over of the spell & went on to bowl a very economical spell of 2/14 in 4 overs. Left-arm spinner Shiva Yadav also bowled well taking 2/21. The pitch was supporting the bowlers & especially the spinners and the bowlers made the full use of it as Bernard Shipping managed to score only 117/6 in 20 overs.
But the toughness of the pitch was felt by LTOSA too as it was not easy for them chasing against the good bowlers of Bernard. In fact Bernard bowlers fought well till their last breath as LTOSA won by only 2wkts & just 3balls to spare. It was a match despite being low scoring remained exciting till the end. Opener Abhimanyu singh scored a solid 39 off 42 but his team lost wickets in the middle. However, Sagar’s 16ball 22 at no.7 proved to be a turning point in the game which helped them chase the target & lift the Dreamz Trophy.
Cricketgraph first of all appreciates the hard work and tough fight given by Bernard Shipping while also congratulates ‘man of the match’ Abhimanyu & the whole LTOSA team for winning the tournament finals. Shiva Yadav was declared the ‘man of the series’ with 115 runs & 8wkts in the tournament while Abhimanyu Singh with 138runs & 6wkts was declared the ‘best batsman’ of the series. Cricketgraph wishes all the players luck for a great future ahead.
It was a tight yet low scoring match between ICICI securities & Trafigura Global at the Air India Sports Club, Kalina at Santa Cruz. Trafigura Global won the toss & elected to bat first & put ICICI under the pressure of chasing a big score on the board.
However, things did not go in their favor as much as they would have expected because Trafigura Global got all-out for just 130/10 in 19.3 overs which is not the biggest of scores in T20 games. B Richardson was the only player who looked confident & aggressive against the ICICI bowlers as he scored a 19ball 34 which included 3 sixes. The bowlers did an excellent job of restricting the batsman & not allowing them to open their hands while also taking wickets at regular intervals. Opening fast bowlers Kuldeep (3/16) & Niraj (3/18) were the pick of the bowlers taking 6 wkts & giving away only 34 runs in their 8 overs collectively which played a huge role in restricting them to 130. Arjun also took 2 wickets though he was on the expensive side as he gave 37runs in 4 overs.
Chasing 131, ICICI securities played till the end with just 3 balls to spare but eventually won the match comfortably by 7wkts. Openers Chetan & Javeed Siddiqui had almost finished the game single handedly. Chetan scored a 32ball 41 while right-handed Javeed scored a match-winning 49ball 51 to steer his team to a victory.
ICICI securities won the match & opener Javeed was declared ‘man of the match’ for his half century. Cricketgraph congratulates Javeed & the whole team and wishes them all the luck for their upcoming matches too.
Khar Gymkhana & Yogi C.C clashed with each other for a crucial semi-final of the Govardhandas Shield tournament at Fort Vijay Ground in Mumbai. It was a do or die, hit out or get out kind of match as the one who losses does not reach the finals. Yogi C.C won the toss & smartly elected to field first to make the most of the pitch conditions and chase down a low score.
The whole team crumbled & the decision to bowl first did reap rewards as Khar Gymkhana managed to score only 132/7 in 20 overs. Apart from opener Priyam Shetty & Rohan randery, no one was able to cross the 20 run mark. Priyank shetty was excellent & was the leading scorer with his fighting knock of 74 off just 61 balls. Priyank smashed 5 fours & 2sixes & played the anchor’s role. Had he not scored 74, the team could have been all-out under 100 runs for sure. Right-arm fast bowler Chirag jain was the pick of the bowlers taking 3/13 in his 2overs followed by 2wkts each for Rahul samant & Vaibhav lambe.
Chasing 133, Yogi C.C chased down the score in 18.4 overs with the loss of 6wkts. Yogi C.C won the semi-finals by 4wkts and thanks to their solid no.3 batsman Ravindra Vishwakarma who scored a stunning 53ball 72(11fours) to lead his team towards the victory. They lost a few wickets in the middle but eventually they won the match comfortably as right-handed Ravindra had done almost more than half of the job done for his side.
Cricketgraph congratulates the whole team for their semi-finals win as well as Ravi for his wonderful knock. Cricketgraph also appreciates Priyank’s 74 while wishes Yogi C.C all the luck for a great finals!
Leading into the final stages of the prestigious Salar Jung Tournament, Souvenir CC & P.J Hinduja Gymkhana faced each other for the crucial pre-quarter face-offs at the P.J Hindu Gymkhana Ground in Mumbai. On a good batting track, Souvenir C.C who has a healthy batting line up did not think twice before batting first to put the opposition under tenterhooks.
It was a wonderful day for Souvenir C.C as every batsman who entered the crease made his presence felt. Right from their openers Shoaib Shaikh & Rohan Kalbhor giving a magnificent start at the top of the order scoring 46 off 22 & 48 off 28 respectively. It was a complete mayhem and destruction by the openers where they stitched a 90+ runs partnership within the 1st nine over. What’s more the entertainment quotient was also properly taken care of as both the openers smashed 8 sixes together which was a sight to behold. Azhar Querishi who walked in at no.3 scored a solid 40 off just 23balls & even he smashed 3 sixes. Sayeed Shaikh scored a 25 ball33*(1six) while Yusuf chipped in with a 9ball 23(2sixes) followed by a 3 ball 9*(1six) by Ronak Shinde. It was a match where all the batsman dominated the bowlers which helped them reach 203/4 in 20 overs. Sovenir CC innings included 15 sixes in total & we can imagine the stress the opposition bowlers must have gone through!
Chasing a 200+ score is most of the times a daunting task & is always full of pressure. The pressure of chasing a big score in such a crucial match was visible on the P.J Hindu Gymkhana Boys as they were all out for 150/10 in 18.2 overs. Spin duo of left-arm spinner Asif Shaikh & Sarfaraz Shaikh wrecked havoc on the batsman as they scalped 4/24 & 3/28 respectively in their 4overs followed by a wicket each for Ronak Shinde & Azhar Querishi.
It was a commendable win for Souvenir C.C boys as they win the pre-quarter finals of the tournament. Looking at the current form of Souvenir C.C players, they will surely be the opponents to look out for in the coming matches of the tournament.
It was an exciting encounter between two competitive teams namely Tech Mahindra Business Services & Tech Mahindra ‘B’ at the Parsee Cyclists Ground in Mumbai. Tech Mahindra Business Services won the toss & elected to bat first and make the most of the batting conditions to post a big total on the board.
Batting first, it was a decent job by Tech Mahindra Business Services as they managed to score 140/4 in 20 overs. Though they could have scored 160+ considering they had wickets in hand but it was also some tight bowling by the opposition which made things even. Hardly any batsman fired from Tech Mahindra B.S apart Javed Sheikh & Akshay Bhattacharya who played crucial knocks at the middle order. In fact more than 60% of the runs were scored alone by these two batsman as Javed scored a 44 ball 48 while Akshay chipped in with a 28ball 40 to push their team total to a respectable one. Almost every bowler did a good job right from fast bowler Narendra Vishwakarma who took 2/24 in 3 overs followed by an economical spell of Sujith Matthews who gave away only 18runs in 4 overs while Achleshwar & Yash taking a wkt each. Sandeep Mundaye & Anushesh Sinha were also quite economical as they gave only 35runs in their collective 6overs.
Chasing 141, Tech Mahindra ‘B’ chased the score in style as they won the match by 6wkts & 3.4 overs to spare. Right-handed opener Marzooq Sayed was the leading scorer with his flawless 46ball 51 which helped his team clinch a win. Marzooq smashed 8 boundaries & was looking really confident at the crease while Mitesh Dhinoja chased down the score & finished the match with his unbeaten 38* off just 16balls(5fours, 1six).
Tech Mahindra ‘B’ won the match while opener Marzooq was declared ‘man of the match’ Looking at the current form of Marzooq, Mitesh & the whole team, they certainly look like a tough nut to crack in the coming matches of the tournament.
