We at cricketgraph feel so proud when we go through our data sheet of performances in Mumbai & more than half of them are players under-18 scoring wonderful hundreds & coming up with excellent bowling spells. It just shows India has a great future & does not need to worry as it has a great stock of cricketing talents who will serve India in the coming future.
Thane Friends Union won the toss & elected to bat first even though the pitch was a little difficult to bat on as Central Maidan is usually a bowling wicket. Batting first, openers Digvijaya Singh & Dishan Rane made a 200+ run partnership which almost sealed the game at that stage itself. Left-handed Digvijaya singh scored a quick 95 off 105balls smashing 13fours & a six while it was this talented 16yr-old Dishan Rane who scored a fantastic 102 off 128balls stamping his class in every corner of the ground. Right-handed Dishan smashed 10 fours & equally toiled hard between the wickets to complete a hard-working century. Ranjit (37* off 28) & Swapnil Mhatre (30* off 9) also chipped in with quick 30’s to further boost the team total. Thane Friends union managed to score 305/2 in 45 overs which is a good score to defend at any part of the day.
Chasing 306 at more than 7runs per over, Thane City police were all-out for just 204/10 in 33.2 overs. Had they batted for the full quota of 45 overs, things could have been a little different. Right-arm off-spinner Atharva Kulkarni bowled a mesmerizing spell of 5/29 in his 4.2overs followed by 2wkts each for Ranjit & Digvijay. Spinner Atharva Kulkarni was particularly effective with the ball & completely puzzled the batsman with his spin.

Singhania Tournament has so far introduced a lot of talents & is certainly proving to be a breeding ground for the aspiring youngsters. One such recent example is Herambh Karbhari who displayed a fine all-round perfomance against New Horizon to help his team IES Mulund win the match. Played at the Raymond’s cricket ground in Mumbai, IES Mulund won the toss & elected to bat first on a good batting track like Raymonds.
Batting first, it wasn’t the best of the perfomance from the IES boys as they managed to score only 126/7 in 20 overs though they are capable to make much more than that. The top order literally broke down like a pile of cards until Herambh Karbhari who came in at no.5 resurrected the innings like a surgeon. Right-handed Herambh scored 40 off 37balls (5fours) to bring his team back into the game & help them post atleast a respectable score of 126 to defend. Amog Valsangkar also gave nice support to Herambh down the order scoring a 29ball 22. From the bowling department, Viraj Vidyadharan was the pick of the bowlers taking 3/24 in his 5 overs. The rest of the bowlers also did a god job with 4other bowlers picking up a wicket each to make it a collective bowling perfmance.
However, New Horizon School could not live up to their batting as much as they did well with the ball as they were all out for just 90 runs in 19 overs. The batting could have been better by the New Horizon boys but they failed to fire. Hemabh Karbhari who was the star batsman in this match also came up with great bowling figures of 3/20 in his 4 overs to trouble the opposition. The rest of the bowlers also supported well to restrict New Horizon to just 90 & win the match by 36runs.

When two competitive teams clash for a final encounter, it’s bound to be a great one. Datamatics & FCC Smashers performed so well in the tournament to reach the finals of the tournament at the Asahi Glass ltd. at Taloja. Datamatics won the toss & elected to bat first in order to post a decent total on the board.
However, the pitch was turned out to be a suspense as it turned out to be a low scoring encounter between both the teams. Batting first, Datamatics were all-out for just 81 runs in 18.5 overs with only their skipper Rohidas koyande (22) & Nikhil Patil (14) managing to score in two digits. Left-arm fast bowler Sagar Nehete continued his fine form with the ball as he scalped 4/25 in his 4overs along with a maiden. Sagar has certainly been a revelation in this tournament & has bowling has been quite effective. On the other end left-arm spinner Ajay mishra bowled one of the most economical spells in a T20 game as he conceded only 2 runs in his 4 overs along with 2 maidens & 3wkts which played a huge role in restricting Datamatics to a low total. Datamatics batsman were just not able to figure out Ajay’s bowling. Ashish dadhas also chipped in with a wicket in his 4overs.
Chasing 82 should have been a cakewalk for FCC boys but Datamatics gave a tough fight as they made them play till 17.3 overs & took 6wkts of theirs before they won the finals by 4wkts. Amey Adkar was the highest scorer from FCC smashers scoring a 40ball 26 while Nehal Katakdhond from Datamatics was the pick of the bowlers taking 3/6 in 4 overs.
FCC Smashers won the finals of the Samata Friendship Trophy by 4wkts & Ajay Mishra’s brilliant bowling spell made him earn ‘man of the match’ while Ram Singh(with around 190runs in the tournament from Pravin Tambe Academy) was declared the best batsman of the tournament, Sagar Nehete(12wkts in the tournament) was declared the best bowler of the tournament & Ashish Dadahas with over 100+ runs & 10wkts was declared ‘man of the series’

It was the all-important finals of the Palghar District Premier League where two powerful teams comprising of big names clashed with each other at the P.D.T.S.A. Ground Boisar . On a good batting track where a good total can be made, Azad Strikers elected to bat first and put Nandgaon boys under pressure.
Batting first, Azad Strikers were off to a mixed start with their opener Kaustub Pawar smashing a quikfire 35 off 22 while Swapnil & Karan More on the other hand lost their wickets quickly. However, the middle order boys did the job as left-handed Shams Maulani & Sumit Meher stitched a crucial partnership. Shams Maulani scored a solid yet aggressive 40 off just 31balls smashing 5fours while Sumit on the other hand chipped in with a 28ball 33 followed by a quick 12ball 21 by Shashikant Kadam pushing their team total to 164/7 in 20 overs which is a very competitive total to defend. Musavir Khote was the pick of the bowlers taking 3/36 in his 4 overs followed by 2/13 & 2/17 in 4overs each by Brijesh & Siddarth who proved to be quite economical.
Chasing 165 in a finals of a T20 is always a task full of pressure, however Nandgaon Lions almost nailed it as they managed to reach as close as 162/8 in 20 overs giving a very tough fight to the Azad Striker boys & this is how the finals should be. Opener Arjun Tendulkar gave a decent start with his 23ball 26 but they lost quick wickets in between. Virat Singh & Sujit Nayak infused some life back into the chase as they scored 28(23) & 33(21) respectively. Musvair Khote at no.8 scored a valiant 37* off just 21balls almost taking his team to the victory line. Tushar Gharat was the pick of the bowlers taking 2/30 in his 4 overs followed by a wicket each for Shams, Kastub, Shashikant & Aqueeb making it a collective team perfomance.
Azad Strikers won the finals of the Palghar Premier League by 2runs & Shams Maulani was declared ‘man of the match’ for his all-round contribution while Musavir’s perfomance was also appreciation worthy though it went for a losing cause. On the other hand Sairaj Patil was declared ‘man of the series’ for his 194 runs(2 fifties) & 6wkts in the tournament.

Jaycool’s father Dr.Gokulsing Girase entertained us as a commentator through the All-India Radio Station in the 2011 World Cup Finals & now it was the turn of his kid Jaycool to do something special in cricket. Two talented & promising teams namely Boys Cricket Club & KC Gandhi School clashed for a crucial encounter at the Union Cricket Academy Ground at Kalyan in Mumbai. KC Gandhi School won the toss & elected to bat first with an aim of posting a big total on the board and put the Boys CC players under pressure.
Their decision to bat first was spot on as they managed to score a mammoth 192/1 in 20 overs which is a good score to defend on any part of the day. KC Gandhi skipper Jaycool Girase stamped his class as he went on to score a match winning knock of 99* off just 67balls. In fact such was the partnership developed by the openers, KC Gandhi school were almost wicketless in their 20 overs as Jaycool’s partner Gautam was unfortunately run out on the 2nd last ball of the innings after scoring a superlative half century(55) supporting his skipper till the end. Right-handed Jaycool smashed 14fours & did equally good running between the wickets in his 67ball knock which took their team total to a very competitive score of 192/1 in 20 overs.
Chasing at almost 10runs per over, Boys Cricket Club almost to the pressure of chasing as they were bundled out for just 88 runs. KC Gandhi School won the match by a big margin of 104 runs as they also did equally bowling to trouble the opposition. Leg-spinner Parth Darange was the pick of the bowlers scalping 3 wkts followed by 2wkts for off-spinner Sahil Gupta. Skipper Jaycool also chipped in with 2wkts with his medium pace to make it a complete all-round perfomance. Left-Arm spinner Hemaksh & medium pacer Aditya also took a wicket each making it a collective bowling effort from KC Boys.
KC Gandhi won the match & skipper Jaycool who played the captain’s role to perfection was declared ‘man of the match’. It was a great team perfomance where all the boys worked hard & cricketgraph congratulates KC Gandhi team for their commendable win and also wishes them all the luck for a great future ahead.
Perfomances like these time & again show that India has a pool of cricketing talents which no other world has. In every nook & corner of India are unexplored talents who are just too good in cricket. One recent example about talented kids in India are Jay Dhatrak & Nirek Gavant While Jay is not only a promising batsman but is also a spin wizard who can bowl with both the hands while Nirek showed exemplary display of leg spin.
It was a match between Singhania School & Dnyanganga school at the Raymonds Cricket Ground in Mumbai. Singhania school won the toss & elected to bat first in order to post a big total on the board. Right-handed opening batsman Jay Dhatrak scored a splendid hundred to steer his team to a big total. Jay Dhatrak scored an unbeaten 115* & played the anchors role till the end. Jay scored 115* off just 81 balls and kept the scoreboard ticking. Jay smashed 10 boundaries in his 81 ball stay and also did equally good running between the wickets. What’s more this boy is showing his class, as this is his 9th hundred in the past 6months which is not a small achievement for his age. Apart from him the in-form Jay Jain scored a gutsy 39ball 43 along with 32* and 32 by Viraj & Ashar pushing their team total to 285/3 in 35 overs.
Chasing 286 in 35 overs is literally tough & especially when the opposition has a good bowling attack. Left-arm spinner Nirek Gavand literally bamboozled the batsman with his effective spin scalping 6/14 in 4 overs. Nirek was so bowling so nicely, he will certainly be nominated for the Cricketgraph bowler’s rankings for the month of April. Apart from him, Jay Dhatrak was also not done yet even after scoring a wonderful century Jay came up with a hat-trick to add icing on the cake. Dnyanganga school was eventually all-out for 93runs in 19overs & Singhania school won the match by 193runs.
Jay Dhatrak has been a big asset & certainly has a promising future ahead, his statistics in the last 12 months are a testimony towards that fact-

Ltosa & Igate clashed with each other for a crucial face off at Western Railways cricket ground. On a track (plot no.5) which was slightly tilted towards the bowlers, Ltosa elected to field first and put the opposition under pressure by restricting them to a low total.
Batting first, igate managed to put a really good total on the board of 191/8 in 20 overs. The bowlers could have been a little more tight and effective as they leaked as many as 43 runs or they could have been easily restricted to just 150-160 on the board. Kaustub Vechare, Akshay Yadav & no.4 batsman Singh were the top scorers with 29, 24 & 32 respectively. Deepak Kathiyal & Looman Vanu were the pick of the bowlers taking 2/35 & 2/16 respectively. Ajinkya Parte also chipped in with a wicket in his quota of 3 overs.
Chasing 192 in 20 overs is always tough in a T20 format but Ltosa team won the match by 7wkts and chased down the score in 19.5 overs. The batsman did a fantastic job & it was a good start by the openers which laid the foundation for their innings. All the batsman did a great job but the highlight of the innings was Ajinkya Parte who scored a match-winning 55 off just 31balls. Ajinkya completely dominated the bowlers & did not spare any corner of the ground to help his team wincomfortably by a big margin of 7wkts.

Hit out or get-out, give your best or rest are certain terms related to semi-finals because semis are always full of pressure where both the teams have to give their best and the one who loses goes out of the tournament. One such match was between Parsee Gymkhana & Islam Gymkhana at the Islam Gymkhana Ground in Mumbai. Islam Gymkhana won the toss & elected to field first as the pitch was tilted slightly towards the bowlers.
Batting first, their right-handed opener Aakarshit Gomel who is in good touch once again scored a quickfire 73* off just 55balls to steer Parsee Gymkhana to a respectable total of 167/5 in 20 overs. Gomel played the anchor’s role playing at a decent strike of 135+ smashing 7boundaries & a six and remaining unbeaten till the end. Apart from him hardly any batsman was able to make much of a difference as Raunaq Sharma with a 17ball 24 was the 2nd highest scorer. From Islam Gymkhana, Jay Dave was the pick of the bowlers taking 2/22 in his 4overs followed by a wicket each for Salman, Harsh & Hitesh kadam.
Chasing 168 at more than 8runs per over, Islam Gymkhana felt the pressure of chasing as they were all out for 130/10 in 19.5 overs. Even though their openers Abdul Aziz (32 off 32) & Mehboob Shaikh(25 off 16) gave a good start but the rest of the batsmen below them could not capitalize . Right-arm leg spinner Khizar Dafedar was the pick of the bowlers with enviable bowling figures of 3/11 in 3 overs followed by a stunning bowling spell of 2/8 in 4 overs by Abhimanyu Vaishistha. Abhimanyu certainly bowled one of the most economical spells of the tournament.

Last month cricketgraph had announced its association with a promising sports brand Zeven to sponsor the best batsman and best all rounder from Mumbai cricket circle. The winners were to be selected from the best of the best performances in Mumbai. Cricketgraph team maintained a close track of the performances in the month of March to select the 2 winners.
The shortlisted candidates for the Zeven best batsman award were Kaustubh Pawar, Ashish Fauzdar, Vishal pandey, Manish Ambavane, Akash Patil, Aditya Dhumal and Mangesh Palav.
Aditya Dhumal’s performance stood out from the entire shortlisted players for his knock of 80 runs of 42 balls.
Cricketgraph team awarded Aditya Zeven’s running shoes for his stunning knock for his team TATA Power in the TATA inter-corporate cricket tournament. Aditya Dhumal’s performance was such that, had he played alone he would have still won the match for his side. Aditya’s knock was decorated with 5 fours and 4 sixes. One of the main reasons for selecting Aditya Dhumal over other players was of his innings during the final match and at a crucial time when his team had lost wickets in quick succession.
The shortlisted candidate for the Zeven best all rounder award were Rohan Raje, Sujit Harvai, Shivam Dubey, Badre Alam and Hemant Buchade.
Shivam Dubey ‘s performance in the Young Comrades Final match for D.Y.Patil Sports Academy, shone above all other performance. In the finals of Young Comrades, Shivam Dubey picked up 4 key wickets of Fort Vijay cricket club. He also contributed with bat scoring 61* at an aggressive rate. Finals of any cricket tournament are always high on stress and this match was no exception.

Semi-finals are always nail biting and full of pressure, you have to give your best or else you are out of the game & one such match was between two experienced teams namely Payyade Sports Club & Souvenir Cricket Club at the Islam Gymkhana Ground in Mumbai. Souvenir CC won the toss & elected to bat first as the pitch was good to bat on.
Batting first, their openers Shoaib Shaikh(16 off 22) who has been in a good touch along with Rohan Kalbhor (0 off 1) failed to give a blazing start but right-handed batsman Aman Khan made his presence felt & fired at the right time when his team needed the most as he scored a solid half century to stabilize the innings. Aman scored 57 off just 45 balls & smashed 7 fours & a six to keep the scoreboard ticking. Rugved & Azhar also fell early but it was Ronak who scored a run a ball 27 to create a crucial partnership & help their team reach 145/7 in 20 overs. Royston Dias & Parag Khanapurkar were the pick of the bowlers taking 3/35 & 2/25 for Payyade.
Chasing 146 is not the toughest of tasks but it isn’t the easiest either. Add to it the good bowling by the Souvenir Boys made things all the more difficult for Payyade boys as they were all out for 136/10 in 19.3 overs. Off-spinner Sarfaraz Imtiyaz was the pick of the bowlers taking 2/21 in his 4 followed by 2/22 by Mohmd. Azeem & 2/29 by left-armer Asif sheikh. Aman Khan also made it an all-round perfomance as he also took a wicket in his 3.3 overs.
Souvenir CC won the semi-finals of the tournament by 9 runs & the highlight of the match was Aman’s half century which stabilized the innings. Cricketgraph congratulates the whole team for putting up a great show & wishes them all the luck for the finals.
