Batting first, it was not the best of the performances with the bat as Piramal Healthcare were all out for 116/5 in 20 overs. The pitch was a little tricky and slightly favoring the bowlers more. Almost every batsman gave a start in 10’s and 20’s but none of the batsman could convert it into a big score. It was a tight match between two competitive teams namely L&T Infotech & Reliance at the Sachivalaya Ground in Mumbai. Reliance won the toss & elected to field first since the wicket appeared good to bowl first and restrict them to a low total to put L&T under pressure.

Their decision to bowl first was quite spot on as L&T managed to score only 133/7 in 20 overs which is chaseable for any team in a T20 game. Opener Nisadh Mutalik & Shiva Yadav batted really well scoring 49 & 42 respectively. In fact they were looking good enough to reach 150+ score but the rest of the batsman below them could not convert their starts or make much of a difference. Ramesh S was the pick of the bowlers taking 2/15 in his 4 overs followed by 2/37 by Bharat & 1 for Ajinkya.

Chasing 134, Reliance chased down the score in style in 17.1 overs and won the match by 8wkts. Opener Sandesh Amrute scored a solid 42ball 56 to steer his team towards victory. Laced with 9 boundaries, Sandesh smashed the bowlers at will and gave a good start while Bharat finished off the remaining chase with his quikfire 44* off just 29balls.

Mahul Center and Kalyan Center faced each other for a crucial face off in the Kalpesh Koli Tournament where in Mahul center won the toss & elected to bat first with an aim of making a big score in the 1st innings to put Kalyan Boys under pressure.

Batting first, Mahul Center were all out for 143/10 in 53.1 overs and their decision to bat first did seem to go a little against them. Ayaz Khan & Vaibhav Kamble scored 35 & 33 respectively but it was Sahil Shetty from Kalyan who bowled one of the finest spells of the tournament scalping as many as 7wkts with his left-arm spin. Sahil made batsman completely clueless with his effective left-arm spin and he kept on taking wickets at the right time.

In reply, Kalyan Center got declared at 208/9 in 99 overs which was enough for them to earn a victory on 1st innings. Right-handed batsman Rugved More reminded us of the legendary Drvaid and Laxman as he toiled hard facing 210 balls to score 87runs(14fours). Rugved batted for two and a half sessions and his patience & resilience at the crease was certainly noteworthy. Nowadays everyone wants to play aggressive cricket but pure test cricketing knocks and skills have certainly been on a downfall. So innings like these are always a welcome! Mayur Jadhav also scored a solid 40 while Vaibhav kamble was the pick of the bowlers taking 4/42. In 2nd Innings, Mahul declared at 104/3 before the end of 2nd day’s play and Kalyan won the match by 1st innings.

Cricketgraph certainly feels proud of these talented kids and the highlight of the match were certainly Rugved(87 off 210b & 2catches) and Sahil(7/43) who played at their level best to trouble the opposition. Cricketgraph congratulates the winning team while also wishes luck to all the players for a great future ahead.
