Held at the Skyline Cricket Ground in Gurgaon, Haryana, Delhi Royal Strikers & Empire Cricket Club faced each other where in DRS won the toss & elected to field first as the wicket looked really good to bowl first.

However, Empire Cricket Club was hardly affected batting first as they scored a very competitive total of 163/7 in 20 overs. Manoj at no.4 scored a 32ball 40 but it was Amanpreet at no.7 who changed the script of the game with one of the fastest fifties of the tournament scoring 53* off just 22balls. Amanpreet smashed 5fours and 3sixes at a strike rate of 240 which helped his team reach a very respectable total of 163.

Chasing 164 in a T20 game is always a tricky situation & DRS felt the pressure of chasing as they were all- out for 103/10 in 18.4 overs. The bowler who took everyone by surprise was right arm off spinner Amit Dalal who bamboozled the batsman with envious bowling figures of 5/5 in 2.4 overs. Amit’s bowling almost single handedly completed the game for Empire CC. Empire CC won the match by 60 runs & Amit Dalal was declared ‘man of the match’. Held at the Police Gymkhana Ground at Marine Lines in Mumbai, two experienced teams of Mumbai namely Mumbai Police Gymkhana & Muslim United clashed for a crucial encounter where in Muslim United SC won the toss & bravely elected to bowl first.

Batting first, openers Rajesh & Swapnil failed to provide any impact but it was Agni Chopra at no.3 who scored a valiant 65 off 101balls. Agni’s knock was full of composure, patience and well timed boundaries which included 8 fours at a strike rate of 64.36. In fact, it was his solid 65 which pushed the team to score a total of 170/10 in 51.4 overs. Slow-left arm orthodox bowler Salil Agharkar impressed one and all with envious bowling figures of 5/32 in 19 overs.

In reply, Muslim United scored 60/7 in 27 overs before the end of the day’s play where the match was declared drawn. It was a good bowling perfomance by M.P.G boys as Yogesh Jagtap, Vaibhav Singh & Som took 2wkts each. It was a match between two promising teams namely Delhi Royal Strikers & Cricket Maniacs at the Cricket Adda Sportsground in Haryana at Gurgaon. DRS won the toss & elected to bat first as the Cricket Adda Ground is usually good to bat on.

Batting first, DRS (Delhi Royal Strikers) made 131/10 in 19.5 over which is definitely not the best of the scores to defend in a batting friendly T20 game. Even though the top order failed to fire, Mohan & Nimit chipped in with 25 & 23 respectively to take their score to atleast 131. From the bowling side, Shankar was the pick of the bowlers taking 3/25 while Abid, Kapil & Gaurav taking 2wkts each.

However, DRS covered up their poor batting with a promising bowling perfomance as they bundled out Cricket Maniacs for just 63/all out in 13.2 overs. Abhishek came up with stunning bowling figures of 4/5 in 2 overs completely changing the game with his tight bowling. The rest of the bowlers also did a good job chipping in with wickets.

Played at the PJ Hindu Gymkhana ground in Mumbai, two experienced teams namely PJ Hindu Gymkhana & Cricket Club of India clashed for a crucial encounter where in PJ Hindu Gymkhana won the toss & elected to bat first.

Batting first, Hindu Gymkhana boys managed to put only 169 runs on the board where in Sujit & Sumeet Wagh were the pick of the batsman with 40 & 32 respectively. From the bowling side, Krutik Hangewadi was the pick of the bowlers with 3/13 followed by 3wkts for left arm spinner Hitesh Kadam & 3 for Aniket Redkar.

In reply, Cricket Club of India gave a strong perfomance as they scored 200/6 declare before the end of the day’s play. Right-handed Karan Nandey who is known for his attacking batting was the leading scorer with a sublime run a ball 78 which covered boundaries in every corner of the ground while Sachin Yadav fell just 2 runs short of a solid half century.  CCI won the match on 1st innings and it was a good perfomance overall by the CCI Boys. SSCC & Amazing shots clashed with each other for a crucial encounter at the Cricket Adda Sports Ground at Gurgaon, Haryana. On a good batting track, SSCC won the toss and rightly elected to bat first.

Batting first, SSCC made a mammoth 217/5 in 20 overs which is a very competitive total to defend. Skipper as well as opener Digvijay Bhandari scored a sublime 53 off just 36balls which included 6fours & 2sixes. Aditya Dharolia at no.3 changed the script of the game as he scored an aggressive 73 off mere 37balls. Playing at a strike rate of almost 200, Aditya smashed 10fours & 2sixes before he was unfortunately run out. Umesh Sharma also chipped in with a quick 41 to help their team total reach 217/5 in 20 overs.

Chasing 218 at 11 runs per over, Team Amazing Shots felt the pressure of chasing as they were all out for 109runs in 20overs. Opener Ajay with a 17ball 29 was the highest scorer followed by an unbeaten 22* by Ashish Rawat while the rest of the batsman were not able to fire. SSCC bowlers also did a good job of restricting the batsman and not allowing them to score freely.

Played at the Cricket Adda Sports Ground, Bailywas in Gurgaon, it was a match between two promising teams namely Passion for Cricket & Brave Hearts. Brave Hearts won the toss & elected to bat first with an aim of posting a big total on the board.

However, Brave Hearts could not capitalize on their decision to bat first as they were bundled out for just 102/10 in 20 overs. The top order failed to fire and it was their middle order players Ashish, Arun & Aman who chipped in with 20’s to atleast help their team cross the 100 run mark. Pick of the bowler Samarth Saxena took 3/15 while Dilip Dhunna took 2/33 while Jatin, Pankaj and Praveen chipped in with a wicket each.

Chasing 103 at just 5 runs per over in a T20 match is a mere formality nowadays as P4C chased down the score in just 14.4 overs with the loss of 3wkts. Jaladh Day scored a 25 ball 36* while all-rounder Jatin Kukreja scored an unbeaten 19ball 33*(2 sixes).

Played at National CC, Cross Maidan on August 6, experienced sides MIG & National CC clashed for a crucial encounter where in National CC won the toss & elected to bat first.

Batting first, National CC notched up 199 runs for the loss of 9wkts before they declared their innings in 58.2 overs. Openers Dinar & Omkar chipped in with 30 & 31 respectively though Omkar’s 31 came off 94balls taking some time to settle at the crease. Ajinkya Belose & Sumit Dhekale at no.6 & 7 chipped in with 39 & a quick 27ball 46 to take their team total to a respectable one. All-rounder Kevin Almeida picked up 3wkts followed by 2wkts each for Vinit Dhulap & Gaurav Jathar.

In reply, M.I.G CC scored 87/1 before the end of the game’s play and the match was ended in a draw. Opener Swapnil Pradhan & left-handed Kevin Almeida at no.3 remained unbeaten on 32 & 57 respectively. Kevin in particular looked very confident playing his natural game en-route his 37ball 52* which included 4fours & 3sixes.

The match ended in a draw and Kevin’s all-round perfomance was certainly highlight of the match.

It was a match between two experienced teams namely Karnatak Sporting Association & Fort Vijay at Cross Maidan in Mumbai. Karnatak Sport Association won the toss & elected to bat first as the wicket looked favorable to post a good score.

Batting first, Karnatak SA declared their innings at 158/8 and it right handed opener Rudra Dhandey was the sole shining spot in the strong batting line up of Karnatak. Had Rudra not scored a century, the team could have been all-out for a very low total. Opener Rudra who is usually known for his aggressive batting & even recently came into the news for his fastest double century in a T20 Game showed his other side with the bat as he showed he can patiently too in the longer formats. Rudra scored an unbeaten 100* off 145balls (3fours, 2sixes) and worked hard between the wickets to get his three figures. Left-arm spinner Farhan Kazi once again showed his capabilities with the ball as he scalped 5/54 in his 24overs being the pick of the bowlers.

In reply, Fort Vijay CC managed to score 57/4 before the match got ended in a draw. Right-handed Rahul Lad remained unbeaten on 20* while Prathamesh Dake took 2wkts. Overall, it was a good perfomance by the boys & especially Farhan and Rudra. Played at the LIC cross maidan on 6th of August between two promising teams namely Young Friends CC & Juhu Vile Parle Gymkhana, it was Juhu who won the toss and bravely elected to bowl first to restrict the opposition to a low total.

Batting first, Young Friends CC which is relatively a more experienced team were bundled out for 89/10 in 36.4 overs. Left-arm spinner Ankit Mithawala impressed one and all with his bowling efforts as he came up with envious bowler figures of 5/23 in 9.4 overs. In reply, Juhu Vile Parle boys declared their 1st innings at 103/2 with Chintan Shah & Amar Patil remaining unbeaten on 37* & 26* respectively. Young Friends C.C were 75/3 in their 2nd innings before the end of the day’s play where in Juhu VP Gymkhana won on 1st innings. It was again Ankit who scalped all the 3 victims in the second innings.

India has heaps of talent in cricket in remote corners of India as every now and then you come across a gem of a player who is nothing but talented. One such performance was displayed by this aggressive opener called Inderjeet Yadav who scored a fantastic century on 05.08.17 at the Skyline Cricket Ground. It was a match between two promising teams namely Lion Warriors & Street Ninjas where in Lion Warriors won the toss & elected to bat first as the Skyline ground is always good to bat on.

Batting first, Lion Warriors smashed a record 236/7 in 20 overs which is amongst the highest totals of the tournament.  Right-handed opener Inderjeet Yadav who is also popularly called as Inder smashed one of the most ruthless & entertaining knock of 118 off just 46balls. Inder attacked the bowlers from the word ‘go’ as he smacked 11 fours & 11 big sixes to take the game away from the opposition. The middle order also chipped in with Bhuru Yadav scoring a 33ball 44 followed by 31 & 29 by Bantu & Gullad Talan. Pradeeep though expensive picked up 3 in his 4 followed by 2/47 by Wagish Kumar.

Chasing 264 at above 13 runs per over, Street Ninjas succumbed to the pressure of chasing as they were all out for just 134/11 in 18 overs.  All-rounder Bhuru Yadav was the pick of the bowlers with 3/21 in his 3 followed by 3/31 & 2/14 by Nitin Yadav & Himanshu Bharadwaj.
