Played at the M.B Union Cross Maidan, MB union CC won the toss and elected to bowl first on a wet track which gives a lot of traction to the bowlers to restrict Amrit CC to a low total.

However, Amrit CC batted really well and thanks to their openers Aarya Satpute and Jitendra Gupta who gave a great start at the top of the order. Young gun Aarya who scored 40 in the last match scored another well timed 46 off 134balls (not a single boundary) displaying a lot of maturity and grit for his age. On the other hand was the experienced Jitendra Gupta- right handed Jeetendra went on to score 90 off 142balls (10fours) which set the tone for the innings. While Aarya showed patience and resilience with the bat, Jitendra on the other hand kept the scorecard ticking with boundaries. New Amrit CC declared their innings at 179/6 in 54.1 overs where in Hitesh Chorghe was the pick of the bowlers taking 4/36 in 14.1 overs.

In reply, MB Union CC were all out for 97/10 in 27.3 overs thus giving a 1st innings lead of 82runs to Amrit CC. Right-arm leg spinner Shubham Taldeokar extracted the best from the wicket as he took 5/40 in 6.3 overs. Shubham made the batsman struggle with his consistent spin and his bowling definitely reaped rewards. New Amrit CC lost a wicket in 4 overs before the end of the game’s play where they won the match on 1st innings. It was a great team perfomance and especially Amrit CC openers and Shubham with the ball. Cricketgraph congratulates the winning team while wishes all the players luck for their upcoming matches.

Played at the Oval Maidan Ground, it was a match between two young teams namely Shiv Samarth and VVHS where in VVHS won the toss and elected to bat first as the wicket was looking good to bat first.

Batting first, VVHS made a very competitive score of 156/2 in 12 overs. It was a great display of batting as they scored at a rate 13runs per over. Young and talented Tejas Desmukh’s batting was simply beautiful to watch as he scored an aggressive 62 off 27balls while he got good support from Sahil Ghode and Yash Sheikh who also chipped in with 34 and 22 respectively.

Chasing 157 in 12 overs is a daunting task and fast bowler Amogh Karthik mesmerized everyone with his pace bowling as he took 8/2 in 2.4 overs which are by far the best bowling figures ever heard in the Mumbai cricketing circles. What’s more this talented 16year old prodigy not only took a 8wkt haul but took 2wkts in 2balls twice which reduced the opposition to just 3runs/all out. Amogh took 8wkts in 16balls (3wkts in 3consecutive balls, though a gap of an over in between) and surely displayed the vast amount of talent which he possesses with the ball.  Amogh’s line, length, pace and discipline coupled with consistency was really commendable for his age and it’s definitely an indication of a great career in cricket if he continues playing like this. VVHS won the match in a dominating style and Amogh was definitely the player of the match. Cricketgraph congratulates Amogh, Tejas and all his mates while wishes luck to both the teams for their upcoming matches.

Played on 01.10.17 at Police Gymkhana, it was a match between two strong teams of B Div namely PJ Hindu Gymkhana & Worli SC where in Worli Sports Club won the toss and elected to field first which most of the teams have been doing this season.

Harsha Bhogle once said that scoring 30 or even 40 runs is equivalent to 70 and 80runs in the Kanga League and a century scored in a Kanga is definitely commendable. You need to be special to score a century under tough conditions. Batting first, PJ Hindu Gymkhana scored 219/6 in 44.1 overs. Even though the openers fell early, but it was right handed Sachin Katkar at no.3 who went on to score a solid 106* off 114balls. This season has witnessed very very few centuries and Sachin’s 106* is amongst them. Sachin smashed 8fours and 5sixes at a healthy strike rate of 92.56 to steer his team to a good total.

In reply, Worli SC scored 152/5 in 32overs before the end of the game’s play. All-rounder Viraj Gamare at no.5 once again proved his mettle as he scored a quickfire 65 off just 51balls (6fours, 3sixes). Viraj as always believed in counter-attack and looked good for his 51ball stay at the crease. Viraj was in the end dismissed by Sachin Katkar making it an all-round perfomance. The match was drawn but it was definitely Sachin’s scintillating knock and Viraj’s counter attack which remained the highlight performances of the match. Cricketgraph congratulates both the players while wishes both the teams luck for their future matches.

Held at the Brihan Mumbai Municipal SC, Shivaji park Dadar, it was a match where we got to see a great display of genuine spin bowling from this slow left arm spinner called Deven Dhruv. Just like Kuldeep, Jadeja and many more left handed spinners who are creating a mystery about themselves, Deven’s bowling was in the same league when his team Achievers SC faced Young Muslim SC where Young Muslim SC boys elected to field first after winning the toss.

Batting first, Achievers SC were all out for 98/10 in 38.3 overs in which opener Gaurav Kurkute was the lone fighter scoring a valiant 40 off 52balls. From the bowling side, Daulat Meher was the pick of the bowlers with 4/39 in 11.3 overs. However, Achievers SC gave a terrific comeback with the ball as they reduced Young Muslim SC to just 76/10 all out in 31.5 overs. The bowler who stunned the spectators and confused the batsman was this left arm spinner Deven Dhruv as he came up with magnificent bowling figures of 7/19 in 11overs(3maidens). Deven kept on bowling in the right areas and stumped the batsman with his confusing display of spin.

In the 2nd innings, Young Muslim SC made 15/3 in 5 overs before the end of the game’s play. Deven took another 2wkts in the 2nd innings making his bowling figures of 9/28 which are nothing but stunning. Cricketgraph congratulates Deven and the winning team while wishes luck to all the players for a great cricketing year ahead.

Siddhesh Lad has been one of the promising batsman to come out of Mumbai cricketing circles in the last few years and he once again proved his credentials by scoring a ton on a wicket which skids/spins and even bounces supporting the bowlers more than the batsman in the Kanga League.

Played at Shivaji Park, Dadar, It was a match between two strong ‘A’ Div teams namely Payyade SC and Shivaji Park Gymkhana where in Shivaji Park Gymkhana won the toss and decided to field first. Even though the top 3 failed to create any impact, it was right-handed Siddhesh Lad at no.4 who went on to score a solid unbeaten century on a wicket where the average team score has been 150 to 200. Coming at no.4 Siddhesh scored 100* off 135balls at a healthy strike rate of 74 which included 8fours and 2sixes. In reply, Shivaji Park Gymkhana also batted strongly as they scored 137/3d in 29 overs before the end of the day’s play with 88overs bowled. It’s not necassarily true that only A & B Division have the finest players playing in the Kanga, we have observed that even G, E and F Divisions have class apart players who usually go unnoticed by the masses. One such example was this talented lot of bowlers from Achievers SC and Young Star Marine Drive- Rohan Talreha and Rohan Sadarjoshi.

Played at the Bombay High Court Ground, Oval Maidan, Youngstars Marine Drive won the toss and elected to field first. Supertstar SC batting first were all-out for 130/10 in 48.1 overs. Not a single batsman managed to create any impact apart from their no.3 Sudhakar Sidul who scored a fighting 60 off 116balls. Pradnesh Lad also looked good for his 48ball 29. The bowler who ran through the entire batting line up of Superstar SC was this right arm fast pacer Rohan Sadarjoshi who took 7/34 in 22 overs. Rohan’s envious bowling figures also included 8 maidens as he consistently made the batsman trouble with his good line and length.

However, Superstar SC bowlers gave a fitting reply with the ball as they reduced Youngstars Marine Drive to a meagre 24/10 all out in 14.3 overs. If Rohan’s pace bowling from the opposition was not enough to trouble the batsman, it was fast bowler Rohit Talreja who single handedly cleaned up the entire batting line up of the Youngstars scalping a record 8/14 in 7.3overs(4maidens) which are definitely one of the best bowling figures of this year’s Kanga League. Superstar SC made 52/3 in 15overs before the end of the game’s play where they won the match on 1st innings. Even though it was a well fought match but it was these two bowlers Rohan and Rohit who took everyone’s attention with their exceptional bowling. We could just imagine had they been in the same team, what would have happened to the opposition!? Cricketgraph congratulates the winning team while wishes all the players luck for their upcoming matches.

Vinayak bowled in the right areas and hardly gave any room for the opposition to score runs freely.

The G Division of the Kanga League are also filled with hidden gems and one of them is this pace bowler Kaiwalya Patil who bowled an impressive spell of fast bowling. Played at the L.I.C Cross maidan in Mumbai, Maharastra YC won the toss and elected to field first due to bowler friendly pitch and weather conditions.

Their decision to bowl first was quite spot on as they restricted Sportsman CC to 125/all out in 39.1 overs. Hardly any batsman managed to create any impact apart from their one down batsman Ajit Singh who scored a valiant 38 off 93balls. Slow left arm spinner Sushilkumar Kamble was the pick of the bowlers with 4/34 in 13.1 overs.

In reply, Sportsman CC Vasai almost made the Mahrastrian YC batsman all out and were nearing to a win on 1st innings before the match ended at Maharashtra boys ending their innings on 93/8 in 29overs. The bowler who almost took his team towards the victory line and bowled a stunning spell of fast bowling was this right arm fast bowler Kaiwalya who came up with envious bowling figures of 6/19 in 11 overs(4 maidens). Kaiwalya bowled tight and in the right areas which troubled the batsman till the end. The match ended in a draw but it was definitely Kaiwalya who impressed one and all with his perfomance. Vishal Chaturvedi at no.8 played a match saving rather match winning knock of 63 off just 76balls (3 fours, 4 sixes) to steer his team to atleast 145 or else they would have been all out in two digit figures. The bowler who did the maximum damage and proved to be potent for Northbrook was right arm fast bowler Nilesh Dhuru who took 6/49 in 14.3 overs (2maidens). Nilesh bowled consistently well at a good pace which made most of the batsman trouble facing him.

In reply, Northbrook bowlers did a terrific comeback with the ball and especially their fast bowler Nikhil Sawant who took 5/36 in 14.4 overs(6maidens) to restrict Vijay CC to 72/10 in 28.4 overs.
