Souvenir gave an excellent comeback with the ball and more importantly it was their left-arm spinner Aliasgar who proved to be a major dent in Kamath’s batting line up. Kamath Memorial boys were all out for just 70 in 29.3 overs and a major reason for that fall was Aliasgar who came up with stunning bowling figures of 6/7 in 6.3 overs (3maidens). Ali extracted the best out of the pitch as he castled the batsman consistently. Souvenir CC made another 77/5 in the 2nd innings before the end of the game’s play. Scoring a hundred on difficult, uneven, wet and unpredictable pitches during Kanga season is extremely tough. In fact out of hundreds of matches which happens during the Kanga League, there are only a few batsman who can register hundreds which itself is a testimony to the fact that how tough it is to score runs when the average team score is itself between 160 to 200. However, Mangesh Vaity became amongst the very few batsman this season to score a magnificent hundred which displayed his batting talent.

Played at the Sachivalaya Gymkhana, Oval Maidan, it was a D Div match between Koli Combined XI and United Friends SC where in United Friends won the toss and elected to field first. Even though the top 3 failed, but it was right-handed Mangesh Vaity at no.4 who scored a classy hundred. Mangesh scored 106* off 122 balls which included 6fours and 2sixes. Koli Combined XI scored 173/4d in 46.3 overs more than half of the runs were scored by Vaity himself.

The match did not extract any results but Mangesh’s 106 was definitely one of the most graceful and impressive knocks in this season of Kanga League. Cricketgraph congratulates Mangesh while wishes all the players luck for their upcoming matches.

Over the years, spinners with roots from Punjab like Bishan Singh Bedi (IND), Harbhajan Singh (IND) and Monty Panesar (ENG) have won our hearts with their spin bowling, it’s always fun to be around them plus their passion for the game along with their presence on the ground is always unique and this time it was Oninder Singh Gill from Bhatnagar team who gave us the same dose of spin which bhajji used to give back then for India!

Played at the Dadar Parsi Colony SC, Dadkar Maidan, it was a match between Bhatnagar S CF and DPC sports club where in Bhatnagar elected to field first after winning the toss considering the bowler friendly conditions. Right-arm off-spinner Oninder Singh Gill was the destroyer in chief of the DPC’s batting line up as he went on to take as many as 7wkts in his short spell of just 10.1 overs while giving away just 51runs. Oninder turned the ball nicely and certainly gave us a déjà vu of Harbhajan’s playing days.

In reply, Bhatnagar S & CF scored 120/4 in 36overs before the end of the game’s play. Left-handed opener Abhishek Srivastav looked really good for his almost run a ball 63 off 64balls (3fours,4sixes).
