There are some pairs who do wonders together, Sachin-Sehwag for India in international cricket, bhupathi-paes in tennis, abbas-mastan in movies, similarly this two kids together in the same team are proving to be a deadly combo as they are giving exceptional individual performances over the time in Mumbai Local Cricket. Ayush Zimare and Vedprakash are already now a proven name in the cricketing circles and they are raising their bar high with such performances.

Played at the Sassanian Cricket Ground in Mumbai, IES VN Sule won the toss and elected to bat first considering their good batting line up.  Right-handed opener Vedprakash jaiswal who needs no introduction by now smashed a yet another ton taking on the bowlers with pure dominance. Ved is scoring runs like how Kohli is doing it at the international level and that is completely spellbinding! Vedprakash brought up his aggressive ton in just 81balls and smashed 9fours along with 3sixes. Skipper Ayush Zimare at no.3 gave good support to Ved as he was the 2nd highest scored with a gutsy 44 off 59balls. IES VN sule posted a very competitive total of 243/8 in 45 overs while the Antonio de Silva bowlers bowled fairly well but could have restricted them to a score of around 180-200 to stay in the game.

IES VN Sule showed their might with the bat as well as with the ball as they bundled out Antonio boys for just 83runs all out. Skipper Ayush played the role of a captain to perfection as he scalped a 5wkt haul to dismantle the opposition. Ayush’s form both with the ball as well as with the bat has been impressive this year and he certainly looks poised to progress in cricket. IES VN Sule won the match by a big margin of 160runs and it was once again Ayush and Ved who remained the standout performers in the match.

Played at the Payyade Cricket Ground in Mumbai, it was a match between two talented young teams namely Dilip Vengsarkar XI and Sunil Gavaskar XI where in Dilip Vengsarkar XI won the toss and elected to bat first in order to put the opposition under pressure.

Batting first, Dilip Vengsarkar boys did more than decent job with the bat as they notched up 306 runs on the board in 92.4 overs. Akshat Jain scored a fantastic 106 which was definitely impressive to say the least. Rugved More and Sahil Jadhav also chipped in with 40 & 33 respectively. In reply, Sunil Gavaskar XI gave a strong reply with the bat as they surpassed the score of the opposition and declared their innings at a comfortable score of 341/4 in 94.5 overs. Left-handed skipper continued his good form from the 1st match as this time he scored big. Pragnesh smashed a well timed 160 off just 218balls which included 19fours and 5sixes. As shared with Cricketgraph, Pragnesh said ‘ the pitch was good to bat on after we spent some time at the crease, the ball was turning but we somehow managed to chase down the score’. Pragnesh displayed rock solid resilience and class in his 160 while Arya Pol was the pick of the bowlers taking 4/59.

 Sahil Jadhav back to back tons

In the 2nd innings, Dilip Vengsarkar boys declared their innings at 252/8 dec. in 55 overs. Even though most of the batsman failed to create any impact, Sahil Jadhav who had scored a swashbuckling ton in the 1st match continued his dominance with the bat in the 2nd match too as he scored 123 off just 130 balls to keep some hopes alive for his team. Sahil smashed 13fours and 2sixes and with 2back to back tons, he  surelylooks in terrific form. Right arm leg break bowler Satyam Chaudhary took 6wkts in the match (2wkts in the 1st and 4wkts in the 2nd innings) and kept on troubling the batsman with his consistent spin. Satyam has taken a lot of wickets this year and looks set for bigger things in his career. Sunil Gavaskar XI were 31/1 in their 2nd innings before the end of the game’s play where they won the match on 1st innings lead. It was a match full of terrific performances which included 3 centuries by Pragnesh, Akshat and Sahil while Satyam and Arya’s bowling was also equally impressive. Even though it wasn’t the best of the days for his team in this particular match but Ankit Mithawala certainly has impressed the cricketing circles as he is consistently bowling well and is able to take wickets at the right time. In this particular match, it was between Juhu Vile Parle Gymkhana vs Yogi Cricket Club at RTO ground, Azad Maidan where in Yogi CC won the toss and elected to bowl first.

Batting first, Juhe Vile Parle Gymkhana was all out for 92runs in 28.3 overs with Fazil Mukadam at the lower middle order top scoring with 33 while fast bowler Rohit Virondkar bowled a venomous spell attacking the batsman with his aggressive fast bowling. Rohit came up with an impressive bowling spell as his bowling figures read 4/10 in 5 overs. However, in reply Yogi CC batted comparatively well as they declared their innings at 115/7 in 25.4 overs taking a 1st innings lead of 23runs. Slow left arm spinner Ankit Mithawala was the most impressive of the lot taking his 2nd 5wkt haul in this year’s Kanga. Ankit bowled really well once again proving his mettle with the ball as he came up 5/45 in 9.4 overs.

JVP Gymkhana scored 88/6 in their 2nd innings and batted for another 23overs before the end of the game’s play. Yogi CC won the match on 1st innings lead and pacer Rohit was the standout performer from Yogi CC with 5wkts while Ankit continued his effectiveness with the ball taking his tally of wickets to 14 in 3 Kanga matches he has played this season.

Held at the Shivaji Park Gymkhana in Dadar, it was a match between two promising teams namely Diamond Star CC and Navroz Cricket Club where in Diamond Star CC won the toss and elected to field first in order to restrict Navroz to a low total.

Batting first, Navroz CC declared their innings on 178/9 in 45overs where in openers Karan Patel & Ashish top scored with 33 & 39 respectively. The openers gave a good start but the batsman below them could not convert it into a big total. Vikas Repale with 4/68 was the pick of the bowlers while the rest of the bowlers also did a decent job. Diamond Star in reply were all out for just 131runs in 35.4 overs where in Shekhar Dalvi top scored with 47. Left-arm spinner and also the captain of Navroz CC, Saurabh Huddedar took the onus of troubling the opposition on his shoulders as he came up with a yet another 5wkt haul taking 6/48 in 13 overs(4maidens). Saurabh did the skipper’s job to perfection as he took the responsibility on his shoulders.

Navroz CC won the match on 1st innings lead and it was definitely skipper Saurabh whose bowling remain the highlight perfomance of the match. What’s more with 2 five wkt hauls along with 21 wkts in 5matches also makes him his team’s leading bowler while also takes him to the list of the top 10 bowlers in Kanga this season!

We have seen Kumble-Harbhajan, we have seen Zaheer and Nehra leading the pace attack, we have seen Javagal and Venkatesh doing the same, similarly it was Aryan Irani and Mayur Deolekar in this particular match who attacked the batsman in tandem together like a team to clean them up. Played at the Worli Sports Club, Parsee Cyclists won the toss and elected to bowl first since they have a in form and a strong bowling attack.

Their decision to bowl first was accurate as they restricted Taki CC to just 133/10 in 38.2 overs where in left-arm spinners Mayur Deolekar and Aryan Irani castled the batsman with their wily spin. In form pace bowlers Farhad and Ajit who have been stunning in this year’s kanga decided this time to let these two bowlers take the onus of troubling the batsman. Aryan Irani came up with stellar bowling figures of 5/19 in 7.3 overs while Mayur Deolekar was equally impressive with his 5/43 in his 13 overs. Both the spinners took 5wkt hauls and showed a great variety of spin and consistency in their bowling.

In reply, Parsee Cyclists declared their innings at 153/6 in 34.5 overs where in Bipin Waghela at no.4  took on the bowlers and gave a fair dose of entertainment as he scored 80 off mere 54balls(8fours, 4sixes) at a strike rate of almost 150. Experienced Bipin counter attacked the bowlers and took Parsee cyclists to a score where they could easily declare. Taki Team in their 2nd innings were again 12/5 in 6overs before the end of the game’s play where Parsee Cyclists won the match on 1st innings. It was a match dominated by Parsee Cyclists and Bipin’s counter attacking cricket along with Aryan and Mayur’s bowling remain the highlight perfomances of the match.

Played at the iconic wankhede stadium,  it was a match between two strong sides namely Sind Sports Club and Dadar Union where in Sind SC won the toss and elected to bat first with an aim of scoring a decent 1st innings total.

Their decision to bat first seemed to be correct as they made a very competitive total of 315/9 declare in 70 overs. Even though the top order failed to create any impact, it was left handed Alpesh Ramjani at no.5 who scored a terrific ton scoring 104 off 149 balls (6fours, 3sixes). Coming in at no.5, Alpesh resurrected the innings for Sind SC and brought his team back into the game. What’s more he also stitched a match winning partnership of 165runs with the aggressive Aditya Dhumal who also played a gem of a knock coming down the order at no.8 to score 92 off just 97balls(7fours, 1six). Aditya who played at a very healthy strike rate of 96 kept the scorecard ticking while it was their partnership which changed the script of the game. From the bowling side, fast bowler Siddarth Raut was the pick of the bowlers taking 4wkts for 72runs in his 21 overs.

In reply, Dadar Union were all out for 185/10 in 57.2 overs where in Rohit Rane and Siddarth Raut top scored with their respective 30’s down the order. Slow left arm spinner Aditya Dhumal also contributed with the ball as he was pick of the bowlers taking 4/30 in 16overs. Sind SC won the match on 1st innings but it was definitely Alpesh’s ton and Aditya’s all round show which remained the highlight perfomance of the match. Played at the Cricket Club of India (CCI) in Mumbai, the police shield tournament witnessed amazing performances right from its opening day and one of the best came out from this talented fast bowler Badrey Alam who rattled the opposition with his genuine fast bowling. Parkophene Cricekters won the toss and elected to bowl first in order to restrict CCI to a low total.

Their decision was spot on as they bundled out CCI boys in their own turf for just 51runs in 17.5 overs with only 2players managing to get in the two figure mark. The bowler who destroyed the batting line up single handedly was this right arm fast bowler Badrey Alam Khan who came up with exceptional bowling figures of 7/22 in 9overs. Badrey bowled consistently in the right areas with the right amount of pace which reaped excellent rewards for him. In fact over the years he has proved that he can lead the bowling attack as a reliable 1st seamer for any team he plays for. Badrey was also supported well by Sagar who took 3wkts.

In reply, Parkohpene Cricketers chased down the score comfortably as they made 55/1 in just 8.5 overs and won the match by 9wkts. Parkohpene Cricketers achieved a dominating win while Badrey’s terrific bowling was the standout perfomance of the match. Played at the Sainath Sports Club in Mumbai, it was the all important semi finals between two promising teams namely CPCC and Payyade SC where in CPCC won the toss and elected to bat first with an aim of making a big total and putting the opposition under pressure.

CPCC were unaware on the storm which was about to wreck them as they were bundled out for just 81runs in 28.2 overs. All-rounder Ayush jethwa was the pick of the bowlers once again impressing one and all with his off-spin taking 6/5 in 8overs which included 4 maidens. Those stunning bowling figures just prove how he is growing day by day as an out and out proper all-rounder. Vedant Gadia also chipped in with 2wkts with his left arm spin.

In reply, the strong batting line up of Payyade SC scored 309/9 and batted for 90overs before the end of the game’s play where they won the match on 1st innings lead. Opener Vedant continued his good form from the last match as he scored 50 along with his opening partner Malhar chipping in with 35. However, it was Ayush Jethwa at no.3 who once again smashed a rock solid ton scoring 119 off 170balls (15fours) at a healthy strike rate of 70. Left-handed Ayush is looking all set for bigger things in cricket and he is definately amongst the very few players this year in Mumbai who has scored a century as well as taken a 5wkt haul in the same match. Payyade SC win the semi-finals and it was Ayush’s rock solid batting and confusing spin which remained the highlight perfomance of the day! Played at the Bengal Club, Shivaji Park in Dadar, Bluestar took on Sportsmen CC Kalyan where in Sportsman CC won the toss and elected to bowl first in order to restrict the opposition to a low total.

Batting first, Bluestar CC declared their innings at 196/8 in 48.1 overs out of which right handed opener Tousif Peerzade scored almost half of the runs. Tousif who opened the innings scored a well crafted 92 off 132balls which included 12fours at a healthy strike rate of 70. Hardly any batsman fired apart from him with Yuvang Shah being the 2nd highest scorer with a score of 26. Had Tousif not played this knock of 92, Bluestar could have been all out for a very low score.

Sportsmen CC in reply scored 117/5 in 41.1 overs where in Nishant Mane top scored with 47 before the end of the game’s play where no 1st innings result could have been obtained.
