Played at the Dadar Union between DWS and IDBI, DWS won the toss and elected to field first expecting the pitch to support the bowlers more and restrict IDBI to a low total.
However, IDBI boys did a good job after made to bat first as they scored 184/9 in 20overs which is a very good score to defend in a T20. Openers Jitendra and Gaurav gave a good start but it was the in form Vicky Patil at no.3 who top scored with 58 off 35balls. Vicky who has been In good touch since the last few matches continued his good form as he smashed 4 fours and 2sixes en route his half century. From the bowling side, Shashi was the pick of the bowler taking 4/30 while Abu took 3/34.
Chasing 185 in a T20 game is always a task full of pressure and same was the case with DWS as they were all out for 118 in 17.3 overs. Vivek Patel was excellent with the ball as he scalped 4/21 in just 2.3 overs to trouble the batsman. Vivek bowled in the right areas which eventually reaped rewards for him and his team. IDBI federal won the match by 66runs and it was definitely these two boys- Vicky & Vivek who steered their team to a win!

Played at the Venus, Malad, it was a match between two young and promising teams namely Kurla SC and Apollo CC where in Apollo CC won the toss and elected to bowl first in order to restrict the opposition to a low total. Made to bat first, Kurla SC scored a healthy total of 248/all out in 83.2 overs. Omkar had contributed with the bat scoring 28 and while defending his team’s total, Omkar came up with excellent bowling figures of 6/41 in 19.2overs which restricted Apollo cc to just 122runs. Kurla SC won the match on 1st innings and Omkar definitely played a pivotal role in that win.
5. Aman Manihar- 8wkts and 25, Kalpesh Koli Tournament ’17 (Left-arm spinner)

Played at the Dadar Parsee Colony Ground in Mumbai, the all-important semi-finals of the Kalpesh Koli tournament between two promising teams Matunga center and Goregaon center was conducted. Goregaon Center won the toss & elected to field first. Matunga scored 209runs in the 1st innings where in Aman took 5/36 to defend his team’s total to restrict Goregaon SC to just 149runs. In the 2nd innings too he took 3wkts which eventually helped his team win the match on 1st innings lead. Also he had contributed with the bat too as he scored 25 in the first innings.
4. Musheer Khan- 5wkts and 40runs, Payyade Trophy ’17 (Left arm spinner and right hand bat)

Played at the Sachin Tendulkar Gymkhana in Mumbai, two teams full of young prodigies namely Sachin Tendulkar XI and Sunil Gavaskar XI clashed against each other where in Sunil Gavaskar XI won the toss and elected to bat first in order to make a big score and put the opposition under pressure.Musheer;s team Sunil Gavaskar XI were bundled for just 128 but little did they knew that Musheer will give a fitting reply with the ball as he took 5/15 with his left arm spin and restricted Sachin’s XI to just 98runs all out. In the 2nd innings Gavaskar XI batted well as they scored 246/7 where in Musheer contributed with the bat too as he scored a quick 40. Sachin XI failed to chase the target in the 2nd innings and Musheer’s team eventually won the match by 103runs where all-rounder Musheer played a big role.
3. Sahil Dawane- 11wkts and 34*, CPCC Tournament ’17 (Left-arm Chinaman)

Held at the Payyade Sports Club in Kandivali, Sporting CC won the toss and elected to bat first to put PDTSA under pressure. However, Sporting CC were bundled out for just 123runs in 53.3 overs where in Soham Pawar top scored with 34. Sail Dawane and Adwait Palsule were the pick of the bowlers taking 3wkts each. In reply, PDTSA were bundled out for 95runs in their 1st innings.
In the 2nd innings, Little did they knew on the storm which was about to come as PDTSA restricted Sporting CC to just 90/all out in 38.1 overs. The bowler who was responsible for that damage was PDTSA’s left arm spinner Sail Dawane who went through the entire batting order of Sporting CC as he came up with stunning bowling figures of 8/17 in 10.1 overs (4maidens). Chinaman Sail bowled in the right areas and kept on troubling the batsman with his consistent spin which reaped him rewards. PDTSA chased down the score in style winning the match by 4wkts while Sahil remained unbeaten with the bat too as he scored 34*
2. Aditya Dhumal- 92 & 4wkts, Police Shield Tournament ’17 (Left arm spin and Right hand batsman)

Played at the iconic Wankhede stadium, it was a match between two strong sides namely Sind Sports Club and Dadar Union where in Sind SC won the toss and elected to bat first with an aim of scoring a decent 1st innings total. Batting first, SSC scored a healthy total thanks to Aditya’s 92 off 97balls at no.8 which included 6fours & 3sixes and then while defending he came up with 4/30 in 16 overs with his left arm spin which restricted Dadar Union to just 185/all out. It was his all-round perfomance which played a big role in the team’s win.

Played at the Sainath Sports Club in Mumbai, it was the all important semi finals between two promising teams namely CPCC and Payyade SC where in CPCC won the toss and elected to bat first with an aim of making a big total and putting the opposition under pressure. Ayush Jethwa took a stunning 6/5 in 8overs which restricted CPCC to just 81runs and then he came up with a 170ball 119 which helped his team Payyade score 309/9d which helped his team win the match on 1st innings.

Played at the MB Union CC, Cross Maidan, it was a match between two promising teams namely Young Friends CC and New Amrit CC where in New Amrit CC won the toss and elected to bat first expecting the wicket to have some support for the batsman.
Batting first, New Amrit CC scored 178/8d in 41 overs where in middle order batsman Rajas Raut top scored with a 59ball 42. Left-handed Rajas chipped in with a crucial 42 while the rest of the batsman gave starts but could not convert into something substantial. Medium pacer Sanil Patil was the pick of the bowlers taking 3wkts while Sayad Zafar and Rahul Singh took 2wkts each.
Young Friends CC in reply made 176/9 in 43 overs where in the openers gave a flying start but eventually the rest of the batsman faltered. Left-handed Vishal Chacha who opened the innings top scored with a timely knock of 74 off just 88balls. Vishal kept the scoreboard ticking while middle order bat Anant Kamble scored an unbeaten 37*. The bowler who inflicted the maximum damage and was the most impressive was right arm spinner Shubham Taldeokar who scalped 6/42 in 11 overs. Shubham has been bowling really well and this is in fact his 2nd 5wkt haul in the Kanga taking his tally of wickets to 14 in 4matches.

Playing their second Harris shield match against St. Stanislaus H. S Bandra, SVIS Kandivali continued with their strong winning stint. Electing to bat first, SVIS team opened up their inning with Pratik Gond and Rishi Bhosle. Pratik Gond was looking in one of his best forms and scored mammoth 151 runs in just 98 balls. He was supported well by his opening partner Rishi Bhosle, who contributed 64 runs. SVIS team scored huge pile of 386 runs in just 45 Overs.
Then it was the turn of the bowling side for SVIS. The SVIS bowlers showed their mettle by wrapping up the opponents just for 85 runs. Nishant Kadam got the fifer for just 15 runs and Rishi Shah took 3 wickets for 29 runs.
Overall, SVIS Kandivali team seems to be in the good forms with all round performances. Wishing all the best to the winning team for rest of the tournament.

Played at the Bengal Club, Shivaji Park in Dadar, it was a match between United Friends SC and Yogi Cricket Club where in Yogi CC won the toss and elected to bowl first expecting the pitch to have some support for the bowlers.
Batting first, United Friends SC were all out for 118/10 in 39.5 overs where in Pratik Singh at lower order top scored with an unbeaten 29*. Right arm medium pacer Arjun Thakkar was the pick of the bowler taking 4/15 while he also got good support from Spinner Rahul Sawant who took 3wkts.
Even though, United Friends were all out for 118, they gave a good comeback with the ball as they restricted Yogi Cricket Club to just 92runs all out in 19 overs. The wrecker in chief was once again Harshit Jain who took 5/40 in 9 overs to trouble the opposition. Harshit Jain has been in excellent form in this Kanga and he has certainly taken everyone’s notice with his wily spin as his tally of wickets has reached 23 in 5innings which also includes 3 five wkt hauls and one 4wkt haul. United Friends batted for another 15 overs in the 2nd innings till the end of the game’s play where United Friends won the match on 1st innings.

An initiative by Sachin Bajaj’s Global Cricket School where the International Hong Kong Women’s team came for coaching under Chetan Dhingra and the Hong Kong coaching staff Richard Waite and James, it was really good to see that such young talented women cricketers are playing cricket with so much of passion and it’s also good to see that all the players are enjoying their game. Played at the MIG cricket ground in Mumbai, women’s Mumbai’s Under 16 and the international team of Hong Kong took on each other where in Hong Kong won the toss and elected to bat first.
Batting first, the talented girls did a good job on a wicket which had more support for the bowlers as they notched up a very competitive score of 140/6 in 20 overs. Skipper Mariko Hill top scored coming in at no.3 to score a counter attacking 50 off 32balls. Right handed Mariko continued her form from the last match and again took on the bowlers with complete authority. The rest of the batsman gave starts but it was definitely mariko’s half century which steered her team to a healthy total of 140. From Mumbai, Sharni Save bowled a fabulous spell of just one over and taking 3wkts. Sanika Chalke also looked really impressive with the ball as she took 3wkts.

Chasing 141 against a quality international side in a T20 is always a tough task and hong kong bowlers succeeded in restricting Mumbai girls to just 95runs for 8wkts in 20 overs. Left-arm spinner Sau Ha Chan was spot on with the ball as he took 2/12 in 4 overs which included one maiden. It was Sau Ha Chan’s day today as she ticked in every departments. Chan took a catch, did two run outs while also contributed with the bat which made her earn ‘man of the match’ award! The 1st match was also won by Hong Kong where in the talented Anchal Valanju from Mumbai was the bright spot scoring a confident looking 64 while Skipper Mariko also scored a half century which steered her team Hong Kong to a win which earned her ‘man of the match’ award in the 1st match. It has been two great matches filled with energetic young women cricketers and these are certainly positive indications overall for the game of Cricket and especially for women’s cricket. Played at the Belapur Sports Ground in Navi Mumbai, it was a match between two strong teams namely Navi Mumbai Lions and Ninja Turtles where in Navi Mumbai lions won the toss and elected to bat first expecting the pitch to have something for the batsman.
But that was not the case as Navi Mumbai Lions were all out for 106runs in 17 overs where in hardly batsman managed to make an impact apart from their in-form Vijay Bhanushali who top scored with 28. Deepayan Singha bowled really well as he was the pick of the bowlers taking 5/15 in 4 overs including 1 maiden. Deepayan bowled in excellent line and length as he consistently took wickets with his wily spin.
Chasing 107, Ninja Turtles chased down the score in 18.4 overs with the loss of just 4wkts.Alim Khan who has been in good touch and Shrenik Chaudhari scored 35 and 36 respectively which helped their chase while Prasunjeet Mukherjee took 2wkts. Ninja Turtles won the match by 6wkts while spinner Deepayan Singha was adjudged ‘man of the match’ for his match winning 5wkt haul.

Played at Shivaji Park ground in Mumbai against Our Lady of Good Counsel (Sion), SVIS team won the toss and elected to bat first. Right handed opening batsman Rishi Bhosle and Pratik Gond opened the inning for SVIS team. Playing his first Harris shield match, 13 year old Rishi built a good opening partnership with Pratik who scored 29, followed by another partnership with Nishant Kadam who scored 48 runs. Rishi scored 68 runs in his debut match.The SVIS inning was also supported by other batsman like Neil Patade who scored 33 runs and SupreshMugade who contributed 45 runs. SVIS team scored 294for 5 in 45 overs.
The good batting performance was followed by a strong bowling performance of Pratik Gond, who got 5 wickets for 25. He was supported well by other bowlers. The opponent team was bowled out for 53 which led to comfortable win by 241 runs to SVIS.
Kanga matches has always been a platform for youngsters and many talents have emerged this year too from Kanga and one of them is also the experienced Naushad Khan who has certainly proved that age is no bar and he can still give his cricketer kids Sarfaraz and Musheer a run for their money.
In a match held recently between Young Mohmmedan CC and Jolly Cricketers, Young Mohmeddan CC managed to score 178/9 in 46 overs where in Kadir Patel at the lower middle order was the top scorer with an unbeaten 60* off 68balls. The bowlers did a good job where in Sachin Sheth and Satyak Patel did a good job with the ball taking 3wkts each.
However, the young Mohmmedan boys gave a perfect reply with the ball as they bundled out Jolly Cricketers for just 71runs in 71.1 overs. Left arm spinner Naushad Khan bowled a terrific spell of spin bowling taking 7/21 in 14.1 overs. Naushad showed that experience counts a lot in the game of cricket as he bowled perfectly in the right areas to trouble the batsman with his spin. Off-spinner Arsalan Shaikh also bowled well as he took 3wkts. Eventually Young Mohmmedans won the match on 1st innings and it was definitely Naushad Khan who impressed one and all with his great spin!

Played at the Police Gymkhana in Marine Lines, Sind SC and Mumbai Police Gymkhana took on each other where in Mumbai Police won the toss and elected to bowl first expecting the pitch to have some due and support for the bowlers.

Sind SC batted really well as they scored 333 all out in 68.1 overs. The openers gave a good start and left-handed opener Akhil Rajput continued the good start as he went on to score a solid looking 98 off 128alls. It was a strokefilled knock where in he fell just 2runs short of what could have been a great ton. Akhil smashed 14fours and a six while also shared a good partnership with the experienced Puneet Tripathy who scored 57. Alpesh Ramjani who has been in excellent touch with the bat continued his good form as he scored a very graceful 81 off 138balls. Right arm medium pacer Santosh Shinde was the pick of the bowlers as he came up with excellent bowling figures of 7/75 in 20.1 overs. Santosh kept on bowling in the right areas and bowled at accurate line and length to trouble the batsman. Santosh bowled like a lone warrior with the only support he got was from another pacer Vaibhav Singh who took 3wkts.
It was a really close encounter as Mumbai Police Gymkhana gave a strong fight to the opposition falling short by just 11runs. Opener Shahid Shaikh scored a well crafted 64 but it was their middle order bats Humayun Hirapure (57 off 69) and Shrikant Limbole(74 off 75) who almost brought their team back into the game for a win. Santosh Shinde also gave a handy contribution down the order chipping in with a quick 42. Experienced left arm spinner Hemant Buchade once again proved his mettle with the ball as he took 6/79 in 23.2 overs. Hemant’s bowling spell was certainly spot on as it helped his team win the match. Sind SC won the match but it was a overall good team perfomance by both the sides and especially Akhil, Alpesh, Santosh and Hemant!
