Played at the oval Maidan on 26th Nov between Chembur Gymkhana and Blusestar CC. Bluestar who are known for their good bowling attack elected to field first expecting the wicket to have some support for the bowlers.

Their decision to bowl first was completely spot on as they restricted Chembur Gymhana to just 44runs in 16.4 overs in the 1st innings. Chinaman spinner Nitin Solanki came up with excellent bowling figures of 5/17 in 8overs which also had 4maidens. Off-spinner Yogesh Chaudhary also bowled equally well as he took 5/20 in 5.4 overs. Both the spinners teamed up and attacked in tandem reminding us of the old days of Kumble and harbhajan. Nitin with 24wkts in 9innings and Yogesh with 16wkts are certainly proving to be the strike bowlers and have turned into an asset for their team Bluestar.
In reply, Bluestar declared their innings on 114/6 in 26overs where in Suraj Lalwani was the pick of the bowler with 4/32 in 11 overs. Chembur Gymkhana batted for 37 overs in the 2nd innings where they scored 127/8 before the end of the game’s play. Manoj took 3wkts while Nitin(2wkts) and Yogesh(1wkt) also chipped in the 2nd innings too taking their combined tally of wickets to 13 in the match. Played at the New Hind SC, Dadkar Maidan, it was match between two extremely talented teams filled with exceptionally talented youngsters namely Islam Gymkhana & New Hind SC where in Islam Gymkhana won the toss and elected to bat first with an aim of making a big total & putting the opposition under pressure.
Batting first, the top 3 failed to give a good start but the in-form Hashir Dafedar who is in a different zone altogether with the bat scored a yet another classy 109 off 127deliveries (14fours,3sixes). This season Hashir has proved how a consistent run machine he can be and how big a asset he can be with the bat. Salimyusuf Ansari also chipped in with a crucial 66 which pushed their team’s total to 263/10 in 64.5 overs. Sagar Mishra and Parikshit Valsangkar were the pick of the bowlers taking 3wkts each.
Even though a score of 264 is good to defend but New Hind SC even made that score easy as they chased down the score comfortably in 48.1 overs with the loss of just 3wkts. Openers Kushal and Parikshit gave a flying start with half centuries while left handed Karan Shah continued the positive momentum as he went on to score a thrilling 109 off mere 71balls(11fours, 6sixes) at a strike rate of over 150. Played on 26th Novemeber at the All Saints Ground in Thane, two promising teams namely Aamhi Punekar Barachi and Legal Eagles (adv) took on each other where in Aamhi Punekars won the toss and elected to bat first in order to make a big total and put the opposition under pressure.
Batting first, Punekars did a decent job with the bat as they posted a very healthy total of 178/9 where in most of the batsman chipped in with 10’s and 20’s while opener Nilesh Chaudhary and Akshay Jadhav top scored the innings with 37 & 34 respectively. From the bowling side, Alkesh Kadam with 3wkts and Uday Bhosale with 2wkts were the pick of the bowlers.
Aamhi Punekars gave a really nice tough fight with the ball too as they restricted Legal Eagles to just 132/8 in 20 overs where in middle order bat Vishal Raman Chasing a 170+ score is always difficult and the legal eagles felt the pressure of chasing against quality bowlers where in Sushen Barshikar was the pick of the bowlers with 3/18 in 4 overs. Sushen not only bowled an economical spell but also took wickets at the right time. Aamhi Punekar won the match by 46runs and Sushen was declared ‘man of the match’. Atul Khokle is one such cricketer who made it to the 1st Divyang Premier League T20 in association with the All India Cricket Association for the Physically Challenged (Mumbai).

Atul Khokle who is physically disabled through his right leg makes sure his passion towards cricket is never affected. He works hard and plays cricket with utmost dedication which made him get selected on merit. What’s more only two players are selected from Mumbai and Atul is one of them.

Atul who is a talented batsman and a handy all-rounder received the letter from Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) for the disabled on his selection with the team Kolkata Tigers and his hardwork in cricket cricket has certainly paid off.
Chandrashekhar Kamlakar Sir of Kwality Sports Club, Thane where Atul trains was equally happy and proud to see his student who joined his club in 2012 progressing in cricket. Coaches like Kamlakar sir put equal amount of hardwork behind a player’s success and when the players achieve something, they are the happiest. Interviewing with cricketgraph, Kamlakar sir said ‘I wish my student Mr. Atul Khokhle all the success in the upcoming Divyang Premier League for the Differently Abled at Sonipat, Haryana. There are some players who can amaze you with their exceptional talent and Yogesh Dhicholkar is one such player who has impressed one and all with his exceptional bowling in this season of Kanga as he has come up with as many as 33wkts in 10innings he has bowled with 2 five wicket hauls and 3 four wicket hauls. Yogesh has bowled well consistently and has certainly proved on to become an asset for Matunga Gymkhana.
His last outing was at Dadkar Maidan just recently on 26th November where Matunga Gymkhana had to face Taki Team Sports Club where in Taki won the toss and elected to bowl first in a match which was a low scoring affair. Taki bowlers did a good job bowling first as Matunga Gymkhana were all out for just 123 runs in 37.1 overs. Opener Abhijit Shetye was the lone warrior with a solid 66 off 77balls while the rest of the batsman from the other end kept on losing wickets. Rupesh Naik was the pick of the bowlers with 5/34 while Atish also chipped in with 3wkts.
However, Matunga Gymkhana bounced back with the ball as they bundled out Taki team for just 112runs in 34.2 overs. The bowler who once again inflicted the maximum damage was their left arm spinner Yogesh Dicholkar as he scalped one of the best bowling figures of Kanga this season with 8/24 in 15.2 overs with 5maidens. Yogesh spun the ball really well and kept on bowling in excellent line and length which reaped rewards for him as well as his team. Matunga batted for another 19overs in the 2nd innings where in Sinosh Panicker played a counter attacking knock of 73* off just 51 deliveries which was entertaining to watch. Matunga Gymkhana won the match on 1st innings and it was definately Yogesh who was the standout performer. Played at the Young Zoroastrian Club, Azad Maidan, it was a match between two promising teams namely Fatima High School and Bhadra High School where in Bhadra school won the toss and elected to field first expecting the wicket to have some support for the bowlers and restrict the opposition to a low total.

However, Fatima High School showed their mettle with the bat and proved Bhadra that bowling first wasn’t the best of the decisions. Fatima High School notched up a very healthy total of 458 where in right handed Harsh Bhosale was the leading batsman with 112* off just 93balls (10fours). Harsh looked completely effortless and played some great cricketing shots while all rounder Ayush Bidwai chipped in with a crucial 57 off 43balls (7fours).
Chasing 459 is always a mammoth task and especially against quality bowling attack. Bhadra High School were bundled out for just 113runs where in off-spinner Ayush Bidwai was once again the pick of the bowlers coming up with impressive bowling figures of 5/39 in 10 overs. Ayush has been bowling consistently well this season and certainly looks promising. He also got good support from atharva evle who took 2/22. Fatima High school won the match by a big margin of 345runs and it was surely Ayush and Harsh who remained the standout performers. Played at the new Payyade Cricket Ground at Kandivali in Mumbai, it was a match between two promising teams namely KSG Challengers and KSG Daredevils where in KSG Challengers won the toss and elected to field first as the wicket had some due for the bowlers.
Batting first, KSG Daredevils notched up a decent score of 242/10 in 39.4 overs which is defendable if not a big one. The openers gave a great start and especially Amit Mehta who scored 78 off 72balls to create the positive momentum. The rest of the batsman gave starts and pushed the score till 242. From the bowling side, Jay Bhuta and Vinit Parekh were the pick of the bowlers as they both chipped in with 3wkts.
Chasing 243 at 6runs per over, KSG Challengers were at one point struggling at 21/5 and were looking certainly ready for a big defeat in the hands of Daredevils. But there was something which was left and it was Maulik Mehta at no.7 who came in and changed the script of the game. From nowhere, Maulik took his team towards the victory line as he went on to score a breath taking 178* off mere 89deliveries. Maulik simply dominated the bowlers with his power hitting as he smashed 17fours and as many as 10 big hits in a completely entertaining knock. At one point where his team was looking set for a big defeat, it was his stellar batting which helped KSG Challengers win a thriller of a match with almost 7overs and 2wkts to spare. Maulik who is in a great form was declared ‘man of the match’. Also not to forget in the zone at which he is batting as his last two scores have been 103, 85 and now 178*! This year’s Kanga has been a great one with some great talents and perfomances coming out both with the bat as well as with the ball. Megh Adhvaryu is amongst one of them as he finished the tournament in a commanding fashion with two back to back hundreds while scoring a fast hundred against Kurla SC against a decent bowling attack. Played at the National CC, Cross Maidan, it was a match where in Kurla SC won the toss and elected to make Young Parsee CC to bat first.
Batting first, Young Parsee boys did a great job as they notched up a healthy total of 274/6d in 48.3 overs. Opener Praful Solanki scored a classy 110ball 75 while also stitched a 138runs stand with Megh. Megh who came in at no.3 counter attacked the bowlers with pure dominance as he went on to score 126 off mere 109deliveries smashing 16fours and a six at a strike rate of 115. Megh smashed some stunning cricketing shots while also did good running between the wickets. It was his stroke filled knock which steered his team to a good total of 274. From the bowling side, medium pacer Santosh Ghosh did an great job as he came up with impressive bowling figures of 4/73 in 15.3 overs.
In reply Kurla SC batted for 33 overs scoring 151/5 before the end of the game’s play where the match was declared drawn. Aakash Jangid top scored with a quick 60 while experienced Kishor Waghela took 3wkts. It was a match where both the teams fought hard but it was Megh’s elegant yet aggressive batting which remained the highlight perfomance of the match. Played at the iconic DY Patil ground at Nerul, two strong and talented teams namely Parsee Gymkhana & DY Patil Sports Academy took on each other where in DY Patil won the toss and elected to field first since they have a good batting line up to chase down most of the totals.

Batting first, Parsee Gymkhana batted well as they scored a decent total of 287/all out in 68.4 overs. At one point Parsee Gymkhana were struggling at 101/5 but it was Ajinkya Patil at the middle order who scored a valiant knock of 114 off 153balls which pushed his team towards a respectable total. Ajinkya batted really well as he smashed 8fours and 4sixes en route his 114. From DY Patil, veteran spinner Pravin Tambe and medium pacer Prashant Bhoir took 3wkts each.

For a in-form and a strong batting line up of DY Patil, even a score of 287 was not enough to defend for Parsee Gymkhana boys as they chased down the score successfully with the loss of just 3wkts in 61.3 overs. Right handed opener Shashank Singh anchored the innings till the end as he scored an unbeaten 129* off 175balls (10fours, 5sixes), Shashank did not only play some elegant shots but also displayed some power hitting with 5sixes. What’s more Shashank also stitched a match winning 185runs stand with the in-form Shubham Ranjane who fell just 5runs short of what could have been his 3rd consecutive ton. Shubham who has already proved his mettle with the bat is looking in great touch and we hope his form continues in the longer run. Dr. DY Patil Sports Academy won the match in style by 7wkts and 8.3 overs to spare while Shashank’s unbeaten anchoring knock of 129* remained the highlight perfomance of the match. Played at the Elphinstone CC, Azad Maidan between Parsee Cyclists and Shantibhai SM CC, Shnatibhai CC won the toss and elected to bowl first expecting the pitch to have more support for the bowlers and restrict Parsee Cyclists to a low total.
However, the two talented openers of Parsee Cyclists were in a different zone altogether as they both stitched a great opening stand of 180+ and that too in quick time. Left-handed Prasad Patil went on to score an unbeaten 100* off just 93deliveries. Prasad who smashed 8fours toiled hard between the wickets as he did excellent running between the wickets as he only scored 32runs in boundaries. From the other end, his opening partner Shaheen Mistry also played a silken knock of 73 off just 77balls(5fours, 3sixes). Shaheen who played some great cricketing shots had to retire hurt on 73 or else even he was looking good for a classy hundred to end the tournament in style. From the bowling side, all the bowlers went wicketless as Parsee Cyclists declared their innings on 212/0 in 31 overs.
Shantibhai CC openers batted for 41.4 overs as they were restricted to 84/8 by the Parsee Cyclists bowlers before the end of the game’s play where in Yogesh patil with 3/22 remained the pick of the bowlers while Hitesh and Mayur took 2wkts each. Parsee Cyclists fell just 2wkts short of a commanding win but eventually the match ended in a draw. It was a great match where in Prasad and Shaheen impressed one and all with their batting.
