Mumbai, May 5: Jay Jain’s blistering 38-ball 75 runs knock and Omkar Mandrekar’s fine bowling effort of 3 for 31 runs paved the way for Parsee Gymkhana to register a 20-run victory against National Cricket Club in a quarter-final match of the John Bright CC organized MCA Rathod Trophy Under-25 Invitation T20 cricket tournament 2022-2023, played at the Parsee Gymkhana ground.
Parsee Gymkhana batting first posted a fighting total of 182 for 7 wickets from their quota of 20 overs. Besides Jay’s rapid innings which was studded with seven boundaries and four powerful sixes, the others who contributed to the big total was Rushikesh More 33 runs and Aarya S. 28 runs. National CC bowlers Atharva Poojari 2 for 26 and Prabhakar P. 2 for 42 claimed the wickets.
Later, Parsee Gymkhana bowled and fielded well to restrict National CC to 162 for 7 wickets in 20 overs. Rahul Kodavoor 47 runs and Rudra Dhanday 41 runs tried to force National’s chase, but all their efforts went in vain.

Mumbai, May 3: The standout performances of Shlok Yadav who claimed 8 wickets for 25 runs and the superb innings by Omkar Koli who is batting on 82 runs has put Dharavi Centre in a strong position against Matunga Centre on the first day of their 2-day first round match of the 26th Late Ajit Naik Memorial Under-14 selection trials cricket tournament 2022, organised by WSC under the aegis of the Mumbai Cricket Association and played at the Matunga Gymkhana ground on Wednesday.
Dharavi Centre electing to field troubled the Matunga batsmen and Shlok did most of the damage to bundle out the opposition for a paltry 102 runs in 29.4 overs in the first innings. Ved Tendulkar was the lone batsman who managed to score 37 runs. Shlok finished with impressive figures (9.4-5-25-8). Later, Omkar dominated the Matunga bowling and his 125-ball knock which contains 16 hits to the boundary ropes, helped Dharvai Centre reach a healthy total of 153 runs for 2 wickets in 42 overs at stumps on Day-1.

Mumbai, May 4: The remarkable all-round showing from Vedant Gore excellent bowling picking 10 wickets (6 for 28 & 4 for 47) in the match and a steady century knock (107 runs) in the first innings was the highlights of Nerul Centre’s outright innings and 23 runs victory against Chembur Centre on the second day of their 2-day first round match of the 26th Late Ajit Naik Memorial Under-14 selection trials cricket tournament 2023, organised by WSC under the aegis of the Mumbai Cricket Association and played at the BARC ground, Chembur on Thursday.
Chembur Centre batting first were bowled out for 105 runs in the first innings and Nerul Centre riding on Vedant’s century made 235 runs all out in their first essay and grabbed a 130 runs lead. Vedant once again tormented the Chembur Centre batters and dismissed them for 107 runs to complete a comprehensive win. This was the only match which witnessed an outright win.
Meanwhile, Vidhiraj Shukla had the honours of recording the first double century knock scoring an unbeaten 216 runs as Tarapur Vidya Mandir Centre amassed a massive total of 372 for 3 wickets in their first innings against PDTSA CC. However, the match ended in a draw as PDTSA in the 1st innings reached 156 for 9 wickets at stumps on Day-2.

After putting into bat, Ambernath Rising put up a competitive total of 174 in 20 overs for the loss of 9 wickets. Shivansh CC lost timely wickets despite top order batsmen getting decent starts. In the second quarter finals of the Thane Premier League: Chief Minister Trophy 2023, SR’s Group won an the game comfortably against Boys CC. Batting first, Boys CC could score just 152 in 20 overs, losing half the side throughout the innings. Opener Aditya Rawat and Yogesh Dongre scored 48 a piece. Apart from them, no batsman got going and succumbed to the restrictive bowling. Vaibhav Mali from SR’s Group was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 2 wickets in 4 overs and conceding just 13 runs.
SR Group’s batsmen made quick work of the low-score, chasing it down under 17 overs with 8 wickets in hand. Opener Sagar Mishra played the role of an anchor, scoring run-a-ball 52*, forming a partnership of almost a century with Anand Bais (38* off 18). Apart from them, Shashank Attarde provided the team with a flying start scoring 43 off mere 22 balls and was named as the Man of the Match after claiming a wicket in the 1st innings as well.

Prabhodan Goregaon Centre surpassed the total in a comfortable manner. Riding on Hitansh Popat’s 53 they managed to score 182, Prodhan centre escaped a scare from Bhayandar’s Offie Adwait Bhatt who picked up 6 wickets for just 37 runs. Despite his best efforts, Prabodhan-Goregaon centre were able to take the first innings lead by 32 runs.

Boys CC Dombivali had a dominating match against Thane Eagle Strikers in the ongoing Thane Premier League: Chief Minister Trophy 2023. After electing to bat first, Boys CC scored a commanding total of 189/7 in 20 overs. The bulk of the runs were scored by centurion Harshal Jadhav, contributing 101 off just 55 balls. His powerpacked innings comprised of 13 fours and 3 sixes. Rushikesh Jadhav was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 3 wickets in 4 overs.
After a strong display in the first innings, Thane Eagle Strikers were bundled up for just 110 by Boys CC bowlers.
