Cricket, in many ways, exemplifies life it is said. No dream is ever chased alone. Seldom does individual brilliance best a collective effort of 11 determined men. And yet, in a country increasingly obsessed with idolizing once-in-a-generation superstars, a comprehensive team effort is often not given its due credit.
Cricketgraph, In association with ‘Fast & Up Sports Nutrition’, launched a campaign to recognise & celebrate these team performances in local cricket. Various competitions across Mumbai were part of our assessment process, whereby performances were judged based on parameters such as team effort, it’s impact on the eventual outcome of the game and the importance of a game.
The latest winner of the Fast & Up Team Performance Award is New Hind Cricket Club for a team performance against Mohan CC.
New Hind cricket club at one stage were 43/4 then Aditya Shemandkar (100) and Omkar Jadhav (82) stitched a 182 runs partnership. Later when New Hind Cricket club came to bowl, their skipper Sachin Sanghvi took 4 wickets, thereby defeating Mohan CC by 47 runs, yet again demonstrating the value of team performance.
New Hind team was rewarded with a supply of Sports Nutrition supplies from ‘Fast & Up’ for the entire team, which would surely be of immense value for these young athletes in supplementing their skills with improved energy and fitness levels.

Bharat smashed 11 fours and smashed a solid fifty to take the team total to atleast 152. Without Bharat’s knock, it would have been difficult for them to reach a team total in 3figures. Right arm fast bowler Parth Tolia was again impressive with the ball coming up with tight bowling figures of 3/18 in 6overs(1maiden). Off spinner Nirav Bheda and left arm spinner Vishal Shah were also equally effective with the ball bagging 3wkts each. It was a collectively good bowling perfomance by these 3 where they did not allow the batsman to score runs freely while kept on taking wickets at regular intervals.

Chasing 153, Osians CC received a tough fight from Valuable CC bowlers where in left arm spinner Tejas Mankar took 4/30 not allowing them to win easily. The craving for recognition is every artist’s Achilles heel. Being told you are appreciated is one of the simplest, yet most incredible things you can ever hear. Cricketgraph has always endorsed this philosophy, through its unwavering pursuit towards recognizing & celebrating local cricket and its custodians. The various initiatives taken up by Cricketgraph over the years are a testimony to the fact.
Buoyed by the thunderous response received across Mumbai for the ‘NATARAJ Mumbai Ka Accurate Bowler’ contest, Cricketgraph, in association with NATARAJ PENS, has come up with ‘Cricketgraph Awards’, a unique concept to reward consistent performers in local cricket. A first-of-its-kind initiative at this level, the structure of the awards function would follow the template of some big-ticket awards events in the game. The whole idea is to celebrate the consistent, impactful performances from local cricket from the season gone by and to encourage those talented individuals to scale even greater heights going ahead.
Performances from a total of 6 categories, namely school cricket, college cricket, corporate tournaments, club cricket, professional cricket (Advocates, Doctors & Architects) and Women’s cricket, would be rewarded. Each category will have awards for the top 3 Batting, Bowling & all round performances. There will also be an award for the Most popular cricketer through which will be voted through Facebook likes, entries for which are open for all. The winners will be rewarded with exciting prizes along with trophies for their achievements.
Adjudicating the whole selection process would be our own panel of experts, comprising of several well-known names in the cricketing circles. Leading the panel, we have Mr. Umesh Patwal, the newly appointed batting consultant of the Nepal Cricket Team. Umesh Patwal has also had a stint with the Afghanistan Cricket Team as a batting coach. Sangeeta Kamat, selector for senior women within MCA, Mumbai Cricket Association and Nitin Surve, ex-western railways cricketer, round up a rather star-studded selection panel.
The awards function would be held in Mumbai and dates will be announced soon. If you wish to nominate yourself or others for the cricket awards, please email your performances with photos, score details to support@cricketgraph.com or click >https://www.cricketgraph.com/cgawards/
