Played at the Sharad Pawar Cricket Academy at BKC, U/23 Sunny Gavaskar XI and U/23 Rohit Sharma XI took on each other where in U/23 Sunil Gavaskar XI won the toss and elected to bat first on the back of their solid batting line up.
Their decision to bat first was spot on as they notched up 344/10 in 55.4 overs. Left-handed opener Parth Shah scored a gritty 43 opening the innings but it was Agni Chopra who solidified the innings with an attacking knock of 96runs in 74balls. Agni counter attacked the bowlers and changed the momemtum of the game in his team’s favor smashing 11fours and 5sixes. Omkar Jadhav (47) and Gaurish Jadhav (57) at the middle order also played a crucial hand taking their team to a healthy total.

U/23 Rohit Sharma XI were skittled out for 148runs in return with Siddarth Akre being the sole warrior smashing an unbeaten 68*. Right arm medium pacer Nishant Williams was spot on with the ball taking 4/34 in 10overs while Akshay Barma also chipping in with 3wkts. U/23 Rohit Sharma XI were again bundled out on 123all out after receiving a follow on with Atif Shaikh bagging 3wkts while Nishant taking another 2wkts making it 6wkts in the match.
U/23 Sunil Gavaskar XI won the match outright with a whitewash on the back of great team perfomance highlighted by Agni’s fluent 96.

Well by now, most of the cricket community at local level in Mumbai knows this name-Sagar Shah. Past 6months he has notched up some amazing statistics in T20 cricket which has included some of the fastest tons and he just extended his purple patch in the Jio T20 Tournament at the Venus Cricket Ground.
Played between Chembur Chargers and Point Punters, Point Punters won the toss and elected to field first. Chembur Chargers however batted very decently scoring 158/10 in 20 overs on the back of their middle order batsman Venkatesh Naidu’s fluent 71 off 46balls(13fours). From the bowlers, Wasim Ali bowled a fantastic spell of 4/24 in 4overs. Wasim was not only economical but also gave crucial breakthroughs while all-rounder Sagar Shah chipped in with 2wkts too.

Chasing 159 and when you have such an attacking in form player like Sagar, a target of 150+ should be most of the times chaseable and opening the innings Sagar did prove that this target he alone can take care of. Sagar went on to score a brilliant 103* off 58balls laced with 11fours and 4sixes at a strike rate of 178 to anchor the chase in style. It was a mixed of controlled aggression and some skimmers as Point Punters chased down the score in just 18.3 overs winning the match by 7wkts.
It was a whitewash win for Point Punters and Sagar Shah was rightly declared ‘man of the match’ for his yet another match winning century. With the way he is batting, he certainly looks like a good buy for IPL 2019.

Played at the PJ Hindu Gymkhana, Malabar Hill Club and CCI took on each other where in Malabar Hill Club won the toss and elected to bat first on a track which has been giving equal assistance to the bowlers as well as the batsman.
However, their decision to bat first seemed to have completely fallen flat as they were all out for just 68runs in 16.5 overs with only two batsmen managing to score in two figures. Minesh Shah turned out to be the pick of the bowlers coming up with one of the most impressive and economical spells of the tournament bagging 4wkts while conceding only 3runs in 2.5 overs with a maiden. Such bowling figures are rare in T20 and it was certainly a commendable perfomance by Minesh Shah.
Chasing 69, it was a mere formality for CCI as they chased down the score in 10.4overs and won the match comfortably by 5wkts with Sahil Purohit top scoring with 28runs. It was a clean win for Cricket Club of India and Minesh Shah was declared ‘man of the match’ for his fantastic bowling spell.

Played at the Matunga Gymkhana, Dadkar Maidan, U/16 Kalyan-Bhiwandi and U/16 Worli team took on each other where in U/16 Kalyan Bhiwandi won the toss and elected to bat first as the wicket had good assistance for the batsman too.
However, their decision to bat first fell flat as they were reduced to just 190runs all out in 71.2 overs with left-handed Aditya Bawiskar top scoring with a solid 54 at the middle order while the rest of the batsman not managing to make much of an impact. From the bowlers, all-rounder Ayush Zimare who has been one bight prospect since the time he started playing cricket continued to impress one and all with his effective left arm spin coming up with fantastic bowling figures of 6/42 in 20overs with 8maidens in it. Ayush bowled in the right areas with nice discipline and did not allow any batsmen to settle taking breakthroughs at regular intervals.

On the other hand, U/16 Worli team batted well notching up 262/9dec in 72.4 overs despite suffering a few top order jolts. Parth Pathak (60 off 138) and Ayush Zimare (95 off 129) at no.4 & 5 ressurected the innings with a solid 138run stand which helped their team post a big total. While Parth looked rock solid, left-handed Ayush top scored with the bat too in his fluent 95 which had 15fours in it.
U/16 Kalyan-Bhiwandi were 35/1 in their 2nd innings before the end of the game’s play where Worli boys won by an innings. It was a dominating pefomance by U/16 Worli team and Ayush Zimare stood out in the match as he was declared ‘man of the match’ for his all-round exploits.

Played at the Bombay Gymkhana Ground, Bombay Gymkhana won the toss and elected to bat first on their ground as the wicket has always been good to bat on.
Their decision to bat first was spot on as their openers Aditya Maheshwari and Vikrant Rambhia gave a flying start. While Vikrant scored a quick 21ball 38 which changed the momentum instantly while Aditya Maheswari scored a match winning 67 off 44balls anchoring his team towards a really good total. Aditya smashed 11fours and looked really solid for his stay at the crease smashing some really good shots which took the team total to a very competitive 206/4 in 20overs.
Chasing 207runs in a T20 game is always a pressure situation but Malabar Hill Club gave a really good tough fight even though they lost quick wickets at the top of the order. Karan Doshi(52 off 35) and Vishal Shah(51* off 21balls) did look dangerous at one point renewing the hopes with blazing half-centuries at the middle order. It was also good to see Vishal continuing his purple patch with the bat making a name for himself as a specialist T20 batsman.
Malabar Hill Club reached 177/5 in 20overs and eventually fell short of 29 runs as Bombay gymkhana won the match and Aditya Maheswari was declared ‘man of the match’

Played at the New Hind SC, Dadkar Maidan, Kalpesh Koli Tournament finally gathers some steam as brilliant individual performances have started to emerge out. In the match between U/16 Azad team and U/16 Shivaji Park, we just got a glimpse of one rising talent in the name of Aditya Anand from the Azad team.

After winning the toss and batting first, U/16 Azad Maidan team scored a massive total of 379/4 declare and the major reason for such a big total was their right handed opener Aditya Anand. Aditya gave a flying start going to score a composed yet dominating 169* off 203deliveries which had 27fours and a six to take the game away from the opposition. Aditya took on almost every bowlers and looked thoroughly impressive anchoring the innings till the very end. He also received able support from Arman Pathan who scored a brilliant 66 at no.3 and Sumeir Zaveri who scored a finely paced 88 off 101balls at no.5

U/16 Shivaji Park were in return skittled out for 170runs all out as left arm spinner Aditya Jadhav wrecked havoc for the batsman coming up with match winning bowling figures of 5/35 in 16overs. Aditya has been one impressive bowler past few years and he is improving leaps and bounds. Shivaji Park boys received a follow and they were again struggling at 37/5 before the end of the game’s play where in U/16 Azad Maidan boys won the match outright on innings while Aditya continued his wizardy with the ball taking another 3wkts taking his tally of bowling figures to 8/42 in the match.
It was a dominating win for the U/16 Azad Maidan team and both the Aditya’s are grabbing attention in the cricketing community.

Played between U/16 Kalwa and U/16 Ghatkopar at the 40 plus cricket ground in Belapur, U/16 Kalwa team batted first after winning the toss as the wicket had some assistance for the batsman to score runs once they spend some time at the crease.

Batting first, U/16 Kalwa boys did a really good job notching up 313/7 declare in 77.1 overs. Opener Tejas Chavan who is one promising name too gave a solid start with an elegant 71. Though they lost a few quick wickets in the middle but Jay Dhatrak who is a budding all-rounder scored a match saving 102* off 163balls smashing 16fours in it. Jay resurrected the innings with his confident approach and he really smashed some good shots which were pleasing to the eyes. It was on the back of his fantastic ton that his team crossed the 300run mark.
U/16 Ghatkopar were in return all-out for 240runs despite a solid fight by the opener Swayam Waghmare who scored a gritty 78 along with Rahul Kodavour’s 70 at the middle order. Off-spinner Rohil Jadhav was simply impressive being the pick of the bowlers taking 4/54 in 18overs while the rest of the bowlers also did a good job.
U/16 Kalwa team won the match and it was surely Jay at the middle order who grabbed all the attention with his match winning ton.

Played at the Bengal Club, Shivaji Park, the promising CIPLA team had a big challenge of facing the powerful and consistent WNS who have performed really well throughout the season. It was the all important finals of the Times Shield where in WNS won the toss and elected to field first.
Their decision to field first was spot on as CIPLA managed to score only a 182/8 in 45 overs which is quite a modest score to defend against an in-form team like WNS. Even a score of 182 would have not been possible had Govind(43) and Jagdish Mali (56) would have not stitched a partnership at the middle order. Aditya Nikam bowled really well taking 3/31 while Ketan Kharat and Mandar Garude also bagged two wickets each to make it a collectively good bowling perfomance.
WNS on the other hand chased down the score in just 37.5 overs as they won the match by 5wkts. Opener Ajinkya Patil gave a good start with 39runs while it was Mohd Asif Khan (56) & Shivprakash (38) at the middle order doing the job for their team and clinching them towards the victory line.
WNS won the finals and became the deserver winners of the Times Shield F Division title under the able captaincy of Kiran Desai.

Played at the Venus Cricket Ground, Powai Panthers and Khar Knights took on each other where in Powai Panthers won the toss and elected to bat first as the wicket looked good for the batsman to score runs.

However, Powai Panthers were bundled out for 65runs all out in 18.5 overs as none of the batsman managed to make much of an impact. The bowler who troubled the most was one of the rising names in local cricket right now-Karan Sonawale as he came up with a yet another impressive spell of 3/15 in 4overs which inflicted the maximum damage. The rest of the bowlers also bowled well chipping in with a wicket each.
Chasing 68, Khar Knights chased down the score comfortably in mere 10 overs as Karan opened the innings and took the onus on his shoulders to finish the game in style. Karan opening the innings scored a brilliant 50* off 33balls at a strike rate of 151.52 smashing 6fours and 1six as he single handedly steered the chase helping his team win by 8wkts.
It was a dominating perfomance by Khar Knights right from the start while Karan was declared ‘man of the match’ for his exciting all-round perfomance.
