Played at the United Cricketers, Cross Maidan, U/19 Dilip Vengsarkar Mahul and U/19 Dombivali Gymkhana took on each other where in Dombivali boys won the toss and elected to bowl first in order to restrict the opposition to a low total.
Batting first, Dilip Vengsarkar boys notched up a big total of 336/10 in 84.1 overs with opener Musheer Khan giving a really good start with 59runs. Musheer engaged in solid cricket scoring 59 off 156balls while Yash Salunkhe on the other hand looked really aggressive as he took on the bowlers with will smashing 52* off 47balls. Aaditya Dev and Manav Chaterjee also chipped in with crucial half centuries at the middle order which helped them make a decent total.
On the other hand hand, Dombivali Gymkhana were all out for 81runs as off-spinner Praful Devkate and promising Musheer took 5wkt hauls to unsettle their batting line up. While Praful came up with bowling figures of 5/25, Musheer on the other hand bagged 5wkts for 33runs with his left arm spin making it a dazzling all round perfomance.
U/19 Dilip Vengsarkar Team were 97/2 in the 2nd innings with harsh remaining unbeaten on 42* before the match ended and they won the match on 1st innings. It was a dominating perfomance by the Vengsarkar Boys with these two talented boys Musheer and Yash making their mark.

Played at the Western Railway Ground, Mahalaxmi, U/23 Ravi Shastri XI and U/23 Sunil Gavaskar XI took on each other where in Gavaskar XI skipper won the toss and elected to bowl first as the wicket looked really good more for the bowlers.

U/23 Ravi Shastri XI batting first were all out for 246runs in 70.3 overs. They were 76/5 at one point but the lower middle order consisting of Chinmay Sutar (39), Parag Jadhav (58) and Risabh (27) and Karsh Kothari (41) gave crucial contributions saving their team from a low total. From the bowlers, spinners Shubham Pandey with 3/30 and Samarth Kokate with 3/56 were pick of the bowlers.

U/23 Sunil Gavaskar XI showed their batting might with opener Omkar Jadhav scoring a solid 117 off 252balls at the top of the order while also stitched a 203run stand with Agni Chopra who continued his form scoring a regal 127 off 171balls. Just fresh from a 96 in his last outing, Agni looks really good and is in fine nick as he smashed 20fours and 2sixes en-route his 127. Vaibhav Patil who had a great run in Times Shield continued to impress with an elegant 84 at the middle order eventually pushing the team total to 393/6 in 118 overs. From the bowlers, Karsh Kothari was the pick of the bowlers with 4/97 in 36overs (7maidens).

Ravi Shastri XI were 221/8 in the 2nd innings with Ashay Sardesai scoring a hard fought 4th innings ton which is very difficult. Ashay scored 122 off mere 78balls with 20fours and 2sixes showing his immense abilities with the bat. The match ended with U/23 Sunil Gavaskar XI winning the match on 1st innings lead and it was a definitely a dominating perfomance from the Gavaskar boys.

Played at the Sunder CC, Cross Maidan, U/19 Ghatkopar Jolly Gymhana and U/19 Bengal Club took on each other where in Ghatkopar skipper won the toss and elected to bat first on a trick wicket which most of the times assists the bowlers.
Ghatkopar batting first managed to score 268/10 in 73.5 overs with their prolific left handed opener Pragnesh Kanpillewar who has been amongst the runs this season top scoring with 76 while the extremely promising Sharvay Keskar chipping in with 63 at the middle order. From the bowlers, Varun Joijode and Vidyut Pilonkar took 3wkts each with their effective spin.
Bengal Club on the other hand were off to a flying start with Aarya Satpute scoring one of the most composed and solid tons so far facing 303balls to score 101runs. Harsh Bhogle once said in an interview- Today’s batsman can face 20balls and score 50runs but ask them to face 50balls and score 20runs, they won’t have that temperament & technique! In an era of fast cricket, the real cricket of staying at the crease for long hours like Laxman and Dravid where a batsman is tested to the hilt has become a rarity and it was good to see Aarya showing that resilience where he smashed 8fours. What’s more he got a great support from the promising Yash Patil who on the other hand took on the bowlers and scored one of the most destructive centuries of Naren Tamhane Tournament. Yash scored a brilliant 159* off mere 96balls laced with 20fours and 7sixes lighting every corner of the ground with his attacking cricket. Both the boys Yash &Aarya also stitched a 211run stand which took the team total to 390/8 dec in 103overs.
It was on the back of their contrasting tons where one side was class displayed by Aarya and on one side was pure domination by Yash that U/19 Bengal team won the match on 1st innings.

Played between Chembur Gymkhana and Municipal Ground, Mira Road, MG-Mira Road won the toss and elected to bat first with aim of making a big total and putting the opposition under pressure.
Municpal Ground Mira Road batting first were reduced to a modest total of 232/10 in 69.4 overs with Fardeen Shaikh top scoring with a gritty 74 while the rest of the batsmen failed to convert their starts into big scores. Talented All-rounder Abhinav Singh was the pick of the bowlers taking 6/52 with his excellent line and length. Abhinav bowled in the right areas with nice discipline which helped him trouble the batsman to the hilt.
Chembur Gymkhana on the other hand narrowly surpassed the opposition’s total scoring 246/10 runs in their 1st innings with Sachin Saroj scoring a match winning 103 taking the bowlers with pure confidence and good technique while Abhinav Singh also chipped in with the bat chipping in with 50runs.
Municipal Ground batted for just 2overs before the end of the game’s play where Chembur Gymkhana won the match on 1st innings on the back of Sachin Saroj’s ton and Abhinav’s all-round show.

Played between BARC Trombay and Sachin Tendulkar Gymkhana(Kandivali) at the SRT Ground, Sachin Tendulkar Gymkhana won the toss and elected to bat first on the back of their strong batting line up.
Batting first, Sachin Tendulkar Gymkhana managed to score 281/9 dec in 64.1 overs which is a good score to defend. From SRT XI, Rudra Tank top scored the innings with an elegant 100 taking the bowlers with confidence. Rudra converted his good start into a promising ton while the rest of the batmsan chipped in with 30’s. From the bowlers, Akash S was the pick of the bowlers taking 3/39.

BARC Trombay on the other hand collapsed for 211runs and they could have been all out for a much lesser total had Nutan Goel not come good with the bat. Nutan scored a sublime 101 off 134balls laced with 17fours dodging the bowlers and keeping the scorecard ticking while Naeem Khan giving good support with a crucial 51 but eventually they fell short of 70 runs in the 1st innings. SRT XI were 148/4 in 34 overs with Shlok Adurkar top scoring with 55 before the match ended and they won the match on 1st innings.

Played at the BMC Ground, Shivaji Park, Dadar, U/14 Matuga and U14 SRT took on each other for the all important semi finals of the tournament where in Matunga skipper won the toss and elected to bat first on a track which has more assistance for the bowlers.
U/14 Matunga team choked out for 132runs all out in 55.3 overs skipper Aditya Giri waging a lone battle with his hard fought 71 at no.3 off 113balls. From the bowlers Zenith Sachdev continues to impress and this time taking 3/27 while off spinner Nimesh bagging 2wkts.

U/14 SRT Kandivali team could have faced the same situation because the 2nd highest score in their batting was mere 19runs by skipper Raj. It was their dashing no.3 batsman Mohit Tanwar who extended his excellent form and flow with the bat smashing an aggressive stroke filled 140 off 136balls (17fours). Mohit soaked the pressure well and kept on playing his natural game taking the team total to 228/9 dec in 61.5 overs.
SRT XI won the match on 1st innings and qualify for the finals while it was definitely Mohit’s match winning 140 which came to the rescue.

Played at the Sachin Tendulkar Gymkhana, Kandivali, U/16 Matunga and U/16 Kandivali team took on each other where in U/16 Matunga team batted first on a track which is technically good for the batsmen.
However even on a decent track like this, U/16 Matunga team collapsed in the 1st innings with 42runs all out in 34 overs with only one batsmen scoring in two digits. Suryansh Shedge and Kevin Chitania took 3wkts each while off spinner Nishant Kadam bagged two wickets in a rather collectively good bowling perfomance.
On the other hand U/16 Kandivali team were off to a flying start with Nishant Kadam opening the innings with with a scorching half century while it was Jash Ganiga and Ayush Jethwa who stitched an unbeaten 269 runs stand between themselves to completely take the game away from Matunga boys. Jash who opened the innings scored a handsome 150* off 195balls laced with 25fours while Ayush on the other hand scored a sublime 132* off 150deliveries which had 21fours and a six taking the team total to 349/1 in 67 overs before they declared. Matunga were again bundled out for 87runs as Kandivali team won the match outright on the back of these two supremely talented boys while Ayush continues his terrific run with the bat.

Played at the Parsee Gymkhana Ground, Abbott Healthcare and SS Travels took on each other for a exciting T20 clash where in Abbott Healthcare won the toss and elected to bat first with an aim of making a big total on the back of their strong batting line up.


Batting first, the openers fell early with Abbott’s scorecard showing 2down for 14runs but it was their talented duo of Shantanu Chaudhary and Ishan Mithbavkar who stitched a 97ball 165runs stand between themselves taking the team total to 179/2 in 20overs. Shantanu smashed one of the most fastest and scorching tons of the tournament smashing 111* off mere 53balls at a superb strike rate of 225.00 laced with 11 fours and 5sixes. On the other hand, Ishan played the supporting role with a fluent 59 off 51balls giving great support to Shantanu who simply lit the ground and entertained one and all with his blazing ton.

Chasing 180, SS Travels were restricted to only 130/7 as the Abbott bowlers did a fantastic job of bowling tight with Rahul Chavarkar taking 3wkts. Rahul was impressive with the ball while the rest of the bowlers also did a good job.
Abbott Healthcare won the match in a commanding manner by 49runs as Ishan and Shantanu stole the show while Shantanu was rightly declared ‘man of the match’ for his brilliant century.

It was the all-important finals between KRP XI and Merry Youngsters where in KRP XI won the toss and elected to bat first at the Parsee Gymkhana Ground.
KRP XI batting first were in deep trouble at one point with 5wkts down for 72runs but as always KRP’s most dependable player Rakesh Naik came in and resurrected the innings back with a match winning 104 off 92 balls at no.7 smasing 10fours and 4sixes to completely change the momentum from the opposition to his team’s favor. Rakesh confidently dominated the bowlers as he took the team total to 236/10 in 44.5 overs. Merry Youngsters bowlers did a really good job with the ball with three of their bowlers taking 2wkts each.

KRP XI successfully defended their score by restricting Merry Youngsters to 185/10 in 10.3 overs with Vishal Kavaiya once again impressing with 3/25 with his left-arm spin while all-rounder Rakesh Naik also chipped in with 2wkts too.
KRP XI won the finals and become the winners of Kanga Knockout Tournament (Group C) on the back of Rakesh Naik’s excellent century at the middle order while the whole team has played really well together throughout the season.

Played at the Sainath Sports Club, U/16 Goregaon Team and U/16 Dahanu+PDTSA+Chinchani took on each other where in U/16 Goregaon Team won the toss and elected to bat first as Goregaon team has a very balanced and strong batting line up.
Batting first, Goregaon team notched up 326/1d in 73.5overs as openers Vedanta Gadia and Moksh Vanjari (82) gave a flying start with a 244run opening stand. On the other hand Vedant went on to convert his good start into a swashbuckling double ton smashing 203* off 228balls. Vedant as always looked supremely confident and dominating hitting 34boundaries and covering almost every corner of the ground with his wide range of strokes. Vedant has been piling runs heavily this season and he is definitely one of the most promising openers right now in U/16 category of Mumbai cricket.

U/16 Dahanu+PDTSA+Chinchani team were all out for 118 and then 97 in the 2nd innings on the back of left arm spinner Aman Manihar’s twin 5wkt hauls. Aman took 5/18 in the 1st innings and 5/32 in the 2nd innings impressive the selectors with his excellent bowling. U/16 Goregaon team won the match outright on the back of Vedant’s double ton and Aman’s 10wkt haul.
