Bhosale CA took on the Achievers CA in the MD MEMORIAL CUP 2023 U-14 CRICKET TOURNAMENT as the latter convincingly prevailed. Bhosale CA set up a target of 203 in 40 overs losing 8 wickets in the process. Opener Vedant Nirmal (35 off 48) and Ram (31 off 46) were one of the leading scorers for the team. Despite a 50-run opening partnership, the batting collapsed as they found themselves 5 down for just 133. Sourastra Pattanayak swooped in with a crucial run a ball 51 with 5 fours and 1 sixes, helping his team reach 203.

The Achievers bowlers had a decent outing with the ball. Shashwat Naik, Vivaan Jobanputra and Soham Sonawane claimed 2 wickets each at stellar economies. This ensured an easy runchase in the second innings.

As the Achievers began their run chase, Jshmit Singh provided the required start by scoring 61 off 64 with 6 boundaries as he formed a partnership with Kanav Saini who scored 71 off 64. A partnership of 122 runs saw them take the game away from Bhosale CA. Ultimately, Achievers won the game with 7 wickets in hand and Jshmit was named as the Man of the Match.

The RBCA U-19 had a dominating outing in the ongoing Challengers Cup U-19 T20 Tournament against Friends CC. Batting first, RBCA hammered a whopping 223 in 20 overs. Opener Krish Singh scored an impressive 87 off just 49 deliveries with 9 fours and a six. Forming crucial partnerships along the way, Singh stayed unbeaten. Apart from him, Skipper Tejas Chalke produced a supreme knock of 60 off just 26. At a strike rate of 230, Chalke provided the finishing punch RBCA required.

Vansh Jain from Friends CC claimed 2 wickets as his peers had an expensive outing. With a subpar bowling performance, Friends CC had a huge mountain to climb.

In a commanding position, RBCA capitalized on the dire situation and bowled tight lines to restrict the batters as the Friends CC managed a total of only 80 in 20 overs despite losing just 4 wickets. Nishit Balla was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 2/19 in 4 overs. He was well supported by his teammates as they managed to keep things tight and win the game by 143 runs.

Karnataka won against Mumbai in the final of “FED-FINA CUP” Wheelchair Cricket TriSeries between Mumbai, Karnataka & Gujarat wheelchair cricket teams held at MIG Cricket Club Bandra on 16th & 17th Feb. 2023. This Wheelchair Cricket Tri- Series was organized by Wheelchair Sports Association Mumbai & Divyaang Myithri Sports Academy.

Karnataka & Mumbai both defeated Gujarat in league matches to reach finals. Rahul Ramugade, captain of Mumbai wheelchair cricket team won the toss & decided to bowl first. Karnataka team scored 219 runs in 20 overs. Shiv Prasad made 120 runs. In reply Mumbai team made 187 runs & lost the match by 30 runs. Ganesh Shelar made not out 91 runs. Mr. Sushant Shelar Indian Film Actor, Sqn Ldr Abhai Pratap Singh (Retd.) Joint Secretary of Differently-Abled Cricket Council Of India, Nilesh Bhosale & Sandeep Vichare Apex Council Members Of Mumbai Cricket Association, Nirmala Samant Prabhavalkar former mayor of Mumbai, Nehal Shah former municipal councillor, Shrikant Shetty secretary of MIG club & few officials of Federal Bank were present for this Wheelchair Cricket TriSeries to appreciate wheelchair cricketers.

Wheelchair cricket players are 70% to 90% physically challenged, They do batting, bowling & fielding on wheelchairs. The team includes all the players with different disabilities like polio, amputee, spinal cord injuries & cerebral palsy. Few players from Mumbai, Karnataka & Gujarat have also played for the Indian Wheelchair Cricket Team.

The Spartans had a dominating night in the The ongoing IDFC First Bank Member’s Premier League for MCA RC BKC members against Hemant Tools Tornados. Batting first Spartans scored a staggering total of 204 losing just 5 wickets in 20 overs. Opener Vijay Singh provided a flying start as he scored 88 off just 57 balls. Singh also hit 12 boundaries with 3 sixes at a rate of 154. Apart from him, Siddharth Chavda managed to chip in a quick half century off just 34 balls with 7 boundaries. Together, they formed a match winning partnership of 127 runs. Skipper Jeetinder Diwan gave the finishing touch as he scored 20 off just 9 balls.

There were a few positives for the Tornados despite the expensive bowling sheet. Sachin Deshpande was the best of the lot by picking 2 wickets in 4 overs. With a subpar bowling display, the Tornados had their work cut out.

Hemant Tools Tornados’ Preet Singh started off the innings by scoring 37 in 33. Vishal Miglani chipped in 34 as well but apart from them , no other batsmen got going as Spartans managed to comfortably win the game by 54 runs.

Paresh Shah bowled a superb spell of 3/16 in 4 overs. Apart from him, the bowling was on song to restrict the Tornados batsman.

Vijay Singh was adjudged as the Man of the Match.

The ongoing IDFC First Bank Member’s Premier League for MCA RC BKC members produced an enticing game between the Spottlight Social Scorchers and Prachi Diamond Strikers. After asked to bat first, the Scorchers scored 154 in 20 overs. 3 Number batsman Abhishek Jhaveri single handedly carried the innings as he scored 84 in just 52 balls with 3 boundaries and 7 sixes. Despite the lack of support, Jhaveri carried on and helped his team reach a respectable total.

Keyur Shah was the pick of the bowlers, claiming 3 wickets in 4 overs, conceding 27 runs. Apart from him skipper Ojas Mehta claimed 2 wickets as Aniruddha Bhosale bowled an exceptional spell as he conceded just 7 runs in 2 overs with a wicket to his name.

Prachi Diamonds Strikers set out to chase but lost consistent wickets at Scorchers managed to keep things tight. Skipper Mehta (23 off 15), Sumiran Mehta (25 off 24) and Ashraya Rao (32 off 26) tried their level best but fell short as the Scorchers won the game by just 6 runs.

Every bowler played a crucial role. Vaidya’s spell of 21/1 in 4 overs was the best of the lot as almost every bowler claimed a wicket.

There were no surprises in the Man of the Match as Abhishek Jhaveri was presented the award.

After asking the Royals to bat first, Spartans found themselves in a spot of bother as they were hammered for 186 in 20 overs. Opener Vinod Lund enjoyed his time out as he faced 51 balls scoring 78. With 10 boundaries and 2 sixes, his innings helped his team reach the massive total. Quick contributions from Piyush Patel (25 off 14) and Vatsal Shah (21 off 8) provided the late finish.

Despite an expensive bowling sheet, Anand Thakkar managed to claim 3 wickets in his 4 overs at a decent economy rate of 7.25. Apart from him Gurvineet Singh claimed 2 wickets as well.

The Spartans were off to a flyer as Vijay Singh’s 46-ball 76 ignited a spirited run chase. Singh scored his runs at a staggering strike rate of 165 with 7 fours and 3 sixes. Sanjiv Zaveri (26 off 29) and Jeetinder Diwan (38 off 23) amassed quick fire innings as well to come closer to the target but timely wickets for the Royals made sure the Spartans weren’t getting away.

Arun Madhu claimed two late wickets along with captain Karan Sharma, giving the edge to the Royals and narrowly sealing the match by just 14 runs.

For his blistering knock, Vinod Lund was awarded the Man of the Match trophy.

Batting first, the Tornados lost two quick wickets. Sachin Deshpande walked in at number 3 and steadied the rocking ship but the Tornados were in trouble as they were down 6 wickets for just 78 runs. Deshpande formed a crucial partnership with wicket keeper Naved Shariff who contributed run-a-ball 26 with 2 boundaries. Ultimately they scored a total of 143 in 20 overs for the loss of 7 wickets. Sachin was the major contributor by scoring an unbeaten 53 off 49 with 3 boundaries to his name.

It is fair to say the Scorchers did an excellent job with the ball by restricting the batsmen. Abhishek Jhaveri was the pick of the bowlers as he picked up 3 wickets in his 4-over spell, conceding 33 runs. With a group-effort, Scorchers were the favorites to seal the game.

The Scorchers were off to a flying start as they had 60 runs on board by the 7th over. Opener Fardeen Malbarwala hammered 38 off 31 with 5 boundaries to his name, including a maximum. Despite the start, Tornados claimed 3 wickets in a heap. Niraj Bajaj played a secure knock of 30 to help his team reach the total closer. By the end, Tapan Bhatt was unbeaten on 17 as the Scorchers claimed victory by 5 wickets.

The Tornados’ bowlers didn’t make it easy for the batsman, especially Milin Parekh. Claiming 2 wickets in 4 overs at an economy rate of 5.25 certainly gave them a chance. Unfortunately, the runs were too less to defend.

For his all-round performance, Neeraj Bajaj was named as the Man of the Match.

Mumbai: Leg spinner Nirankar Sharma’s impressive bowling spell of 6 wickets for 17 runs was the highlight of Aruprit Tigers’ comfortable 4-wicket victory over Reserve Bank of India (RBI) in a second round Group-B Plate Division match of the 11th Insurance Shield T20 Inter-Office Cricket Tournament, organised by Oriental Insurance Company under the aegis of MCA (Mumbai Cricket Association), and played at the Western Railway ground, Cross Maidan on Saturday.

This is Aruprit Tigers second successive win after they had earlier defeated General Insurance Company by 169 runs in the first round match.

RBI opting to bat first, started positively, but struggled against Sharma’s clever and accurate bowling and were dismissed for 110 runs inside 20 overs. Vishwas Krishna 31 runs, Tejas Kalyankar 29 runs and Anand Kanyal 22 runs managed to lift the RBI innings. Sharma received good support from Tejas Bandal 2 for 29 to clean up the rival batting.

Aruprit Tigers comfortably chased down the winning target reaching 112 for 6 wickets in 16.3 overs. Ajaey Singh 34 runs and Tushar Chate with an unbeaten 34 runs esured the Tigers crossed the finish line. Shivaji Rokde 3 for 18 and Kunal Shirke 2 for 20 tried to contain the Tigers, but could not prevent them from roaring away to the win by 4 wickets.

In a Group-C match, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) defeated Abhyudaya Bank by 4 wickets. Abhyudaya Bank batting first made 124 for 8 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, BMC looked in control and scored 125 for 6 wickets in 18.5 overs to secure their win.

Mumbai: Opening batsman Suraj Sharma was in solid cracking form and carried his bat through scoring an unbeaten century 112 runs from 67 balls and power Group Satellite CC to a thumping 103 run victory against Larsen & Toubro SC in a second round Group-C Plate Division match of the 11th Insurance Shield T20 Inter-Office Cricket Tournament, organised by Oriental Insurance Company under the aegis of MCA (Mumbai Cricket Association), and played at the Youths Own Union ground, Cross Maidan on Friday.

Group Satellite deciding to bat first amassed a mammoth total of 194 for 3 wickets from their quota of 20 overs. Besides Sharma’s solid innings Azhas Ansari contributed a 43-ball 45 runs to total. Jatin Sethi was the only successful L&T bowler. In reply L&T batters failed miserably and were dismissed for a paltry 91 runs in 16.5 overs. Nishadh Mutalik was the lone L&T batsman to make 26 runs. Group Satellite bowlers Shameet Shetty 4 for 15 and Deepak Gaikwad 2 for 18 did the damage.

Meanwhile, in an interesting match, MTNL, Mumbai defeated BEST Arts & Sports Club by a narrow 11 runs.

Batting first MTNL reached a total of 143 for 5 wickets in 20 overs. Ketan Dhatarker 32 runs and Sunil Raut 25 runs were MTNL’s leading run scorers, while Amit Singh 2 for 20 and Susheel Asangi 2 for 25 picked the wickets.

Chasing a modest target, BEST started positively, but a middle order slump saw them fall short as they could only manage to score 132 for 6 wickets from their 20 overs. Top-order batters Ketan Dhatarker 32 runs and Sunil Raut 25 runs kept them in the hunt before Amit Singh 2 for 20 and Susheel Asangi 2 for 25 grabbed crucial wickets to help MTNL secure the win.

In other matches, Mazagon Docks SC romped to a fluent 5-wicket win against Bhavishya Nidhi CC and United Patni CC defeated General Insurance Company by a convincing 7 wickets.

Mumbai: Medium pacer Nilesh Kharmale’s splendid spell of 7 wickets for 9 runs helped BEST Arts & Sports Club snatch a narrow 18-run win against a determined Times of India in a first round Group-A Plate Division match of the 11th Insurance Shield T20 Inter-Office Cricket Tournament, organised by Oriental Insurance Company under the aegis of MCA (Mumbai Cricket Association), and played at the National CC ground, Cross Maidan on Wednesday.

Deciding to field first, Times of India did well to restrict BEST to a low total of 108 for 9 wickets from their 20 overs. BEST’s middle-order bat D.S. Garge was the only batsman to make 26 runs. Times of India bowlers Satyajit Banerjee 2 for 18 and Pankaj Sawant 2 for 30 were responsible for keeping the BEST batters in check.

In response, Times of India batsmen were rocked by Kharmale’s impressive bowling as he consistently picked wickets. Kharmale also dismissed the opposition top two run-scorers Hrishikesh Padwal 31 runs and Sendil Kumar 25 runs and secured BEST’s victory.
