Played between Sachin Tendulkar XI and Sunil Gavaskar XI which are two really promising teams, Gavaskar XI boys won the toss and elected to field first with an aim of restricting the opposition to a low total.
Little did they knew that SRT XI has a player who is in smashing form in the past few tournaments and he just continued his purple patch from where he left behind. Aditya Rawat who was just in the news for scoring a half century as well as bagging 5wkts in the same match continued to impress as this time he went on to score a marathon knock of 201* off 290 deliveries. SRT XI reached 328/4 before they declared with Aditya smashing 65% of the team runs. What’s more he dodged the bowlers with ease while gave proper treatment to the loose deliveries smashing around 35boundaries in his impressive double century. Jaycool Girase (46) and Mohit Tanwar (47) also gave him good support before they declared their innings on a good total.

Sunil Gavaskar XI on the other hand scored 246/7 in 79 overs before the match drawned. Jayesh Patil (58*) and Jeevan (37) were the top scorers in the match.
The match resulted in a draw but there were definitely some positives with most importantly Aditya once again impressing one and all with his confident batting.

Played between Khar Gymkhana and Kalyan+Bhiwandi at the Navroz, Azad Maidan. Khar Gymkhana won the toss and elected to bowl first on a wicket which is more in the favor of the bowlers. Hence a decision to bowl first was quite spot on.

However, Kalyan+Bhiwandi team batted really well notching up 272runs in 99.5 overs. Opening the innings, talented Jaycool Girase who has time and again impressed everyone with his solid batting and leadership skills went on to score a rock solid 107* off 313 deliveries(9fours). Jaycool anchored the innings the very end remaining unbeaten while Pratik Warang at no.5 gave a good support scoring an impressive 75 off 121balls laced with 6boundaries. Jaycool batted more than half of his team innings and single handedly and it shows the amount of temperament and composure the young kid has at the crease. Left-arm spinners Dhawatl Mate and Aditya Baliwada were the pick of the bowlers taking 4wkts each.

Khar Gymkhana in return were all out for 140runs in 54.2 overs with Aditya Baliwada fighting as a lone warrior scoring 59* off 96balls making it an all-round perfomance. On the other hand, left arm spinner Anurag Singh was the pick of the bowlers taking 4/40 in 20overs. Even Anurag has been bowling really well past few months and looks very impressive too. Kalyan+Bhiwandi were 62/1 in their 2nd innings with S.Salunkhe(28*) and Jaycool Girase (18*) remaining unbeaten.
Kalyan+Bhiwandi won the match on 1st innings lead of 132runs where in Jaycool won the hearts of many with his enterprising ton while Pratik, Anurag, Aditya Baliwada were also impressive with their individual performances.

Played at the iconic and well maintained MIG Cricket Club, two really young and promising teams took on each other namely Worli XI and Shivaji Park XI where in Shivaji Park skipper Arjun Dani won the toss and elected to bowl first on a track which had support for both the batsman as well as the bowlers.

U/16 Worli team hardly looked deterred after being made to bat first as they notched up a very healthy total of 306/10 in 78.4overs. Opener Tanmay gave a good start with 37 while talented right handed prodigy Parth Pathak top scored the innings with a timely 76 off 110balls(9fours) while he also received support from all-round Ayush Zimare who scored 39. Omkar Khot who came at no.7 also played a fine knock of 40runs off 86balls while Prince Badiyani and Kaushal Rege chipped in with 30’s to help their team cross a total of 300+

U/16 Shivaji Park in return were skittled out for 125runs in 63.3 overs skipper Arjun Dani being the lone warrior scoring a fighting 60 off 156balls. Ayush Zimare who has been in terrific form with the ball this season continued to impress coming up with envious bowling figures of 5/18 in 19.3overs with as many as 13maidens in it. Ayush at one point was unplayable while the rest of the bowlers also did a good job. Receiving a follow on, Shivaji Park were again 7down for 62dd runs before the match ended. Ayush Zimare took another 5wkts for 22runs taking his tally of wkts to 10 in the match.

Worli Center won the match on 1st innings and it was a massive win with the batsman doing a good job while Ayush is one such player to look out for in the future.

S.Gavaskar XI batting first scored 235/10 in 67overs despite suffering some early jolts when they were struggling on 4/39 at one point. Right-handers Vaibhav Patil and left handed Dhrumil Matkar stitched a crucial 162run stand for the 5th wkt which saved them from an embarrassingly low total. While Vaibhav scored a solid 84 off 154balls (14fours) which looked quite composed, Dhrumil on the other hand scored a well time 89 off 95balls (12fours, 1six) keeping the scoreboard ticking. From the bowlers, medium pacer Shahid Khan was the pick of the bowlers taking 4/40 in 18overs. On the other hand, SRT XI made 263/10 in their 1st innings as most of the batsmen were able to give good starts chipping in with 20’s and 40’s with left-handed Abhishek Srivastav top scoring at no.6 smashing 76 off 94balls laced with 10fours and a six. From the bowlers, all-rounder Dhrumil Matkar was the pick of the bowlers taking 4/57 making it an all-round perfomance.


S.Gavaskar XI declared their innings at 270/7 in the 2nd innings with Agni Chopra who has had a good season and has been amongst the top run getters in this tournament extending his purple patch with the bat hitting a dominating 103 off mere 71balls. Agni was in a different zone and stayed true to his name firing up the bowers with 6fours and 7biggies.


Chasing a total of 246, SRT XI were off to a terrific start with their openers Bhupen Lalwani (58 off 148) who has also been in great form and the aggressive Japjeet S Randhawa(59 off 83) smashing fifties which created a positive momentum while chasing while the talented Nikhil Patil anchored the chase with a sublime 71* off 112at the middle order. Abhishek also gave good support to Nikhil with his 103ball 35. SRT XI eventually won the match by 4wkts and it was definitely a good team perfomance where all the boys contributed in their capacity. S.Gavaskar XI did lost the semis but players like Agni chopra have emerged to be a rising talent while Dhrumil also impressed one and all with his all-round show.

Total Cup Tournament has always been a great platform for young aspiring cricketers to perform at their very best. It allows them to showcase their talent while also make a mark for yourself by putting up good performances.
Played between Sunil Gavaskar XI and Dilip Vengsarkar XI, Vengsarkar XI boys won the toss and elected to bat first. However, they suffered a big batting collaspse with 10 out of the 11 players accounting for only 60runs between them while Ronit Thakur single handedly fighting it out at the crease. Ronit went on to score a gutsy 100* and remained unbeaten till the end. Ronit kept on playing good cricketing shots and dodged the bowlers confidently despite his team losing wickets from the other end. From the bowlers Abhinav singh with 3/26 was the pick of the bowlers.

On the other hand, Sunil Gavaskar XI made a nice total of 281/8 in 76overs with Pratik Yadav and Ayush Vartak smashing half centuries. While Pratik scored a stroke filled 76, Ayush on the other hand scored an elegant 55 which created a positive momentum in their side. All-rounder Abhinav Singh also chipped in with a handy 46.
Eventually, Sunil Gavaskar XI team won the match on 1st innings while Ronit won the hearts of many with his fighting ton.

Played at the Western Railway, Mahalaxmi, it was the all important semi-finals clash between U23 Rohit Sharma XI and Ajinkya Rahane XI where in Rohit Sharma boys won the toss and elected to bat first.

Batting first, Rohit Sharma XI notched up 257/10 in 67.1overs with opener Kushal Dawane(45) and middle order bat Sagar Vishwas(44) top scoring with 40’s while the rest of the batsman just managed to give starts. From the bowlers, rising all-rounder Shams Mulani was the pick of the bowlers taking 3/28 in 22overs with 10maidens. Shams bowled an economic spell while also gave breakthroughs. Salman Khan also bagged 2wkts with his off spin. U23 Ajinkya Rahane XI in return were all out for 146runs with opener Sairaj being the pick of the bowlers with 40runs. Left-arm spinner Kartik Mishra who has been amongst the top wicket takers continued his good form with the ball bagging 6/35 in 13.2 overs.

Rohit Sharma XI boys were all out for 181runs in their 2nd innings with opener Kushal Dawane once again impressing with the bat scoring a brilliant 90 off 217balls at a time when the rest of the batsman struggled. Left arm spinner Shams Mulani took another 4/25 taking his tally to 6wkts in the match while Khizer also bowled well taking 4/69.

With a target of 293 set for the Ajinkya Rahane boys, the openers gave a good start with opener Sairaj again looking good for his 49 while left handed Kunal Chalke scored a crucial 60. However, it was left-handed Shams Mulani at no.6 who took care of the chase scoring a match winning 98*off 104balls (5fours, 2sixes). Shams toiled hard at the crease while kept the scoreboard ticking eventually taking his team towards the victory line. Shams simply played brilliant cricket which helped his team win the match by just 2wkts. On the other hand, Kartik Mishra again took 6wkts taking 6/94 in 33overs taking his tally of wickets to 12 in the match.

U/23 Ajinkya Rahane XI won the match with Shams Mulani who took 6wkts and also scored 98* remained the standout performer while Kartik once again winning the hearts with his amazing display of spin bowling. Opener Kushal Dawne and Sairaj were also impressive with the bat.

Played at the Matunga Gymkhana, Dadkar Maidan, two really promising teams U/16 Mahul and U16 Virar+Palghar who have really played well this season and have defeated big teams so far. Mahul Skipper Nabijan Ansari won the toss and elected to bat first.

However, their decision to bat first seemed to have fallen flat with their left handed opener Harsh Rane top scoring with 47 off 52balls(10fours) while the rest of the batsman collapsed on the other end. Left-arm spinner Aman Tiwari came up with a great bowling spell and continues to impress with the ball as he took 5/23 in 10.3 overs. Off-spinner Adarsh Singh also looked impressive taking 3wkts.

In reply, U16 Virar+Palghar showed their batting prowess with their 1down batsman Mayan Teotia scoring a solid century. Right handed Mayank despite a patch start by the openers changed the momemtum in his teams’s favor as he went on to score a sublime 134 off 178balls which had 23fours and a six while also stitched a 151run stand with Princely Perreira. Princely who came at no.4 played a anchors knock remaining unbeaten till the end as he also scored an elegant 102* off 203balls(12fours, 1six). It was on the back of these two boy’s brilliant batting their team total reached 342/6 in 93.2overs.
U/16 Mahul were 52/3 in their 2nd innings before the match ended and Virar+Palghar team won the match on 1st innings. It was a commanding win for the boys where Princely and Mayank led from the front.

Played between U/19 Goregaon and U/19 Karnatak 2018 at the National CC, Cross Maidan where in Karnatak skipper Ishan Mulchandani won the toss and elected to bat first on a wicket which has always been a tricky one.
Batting first, Karnatak U/19 were all out for 197runs which is definitely not a threatening total to defend in a finals game. Even though most of the players struggled to make an impact, opener Ravikant Jaiswar scored a stoic 57 while Samprat Khedekar at the middle order saved his team from an embarrassing total as he scored an 11ball 63 alongwith Purav Parikh’s 47 down the order. From the bowlers, medium pacer Balwant Sodha took 3/42 while off spinner Zaid Khan took 3/40 being the pick of the bowlers. Left arm pacer Darshan also looked promising with 2/28.

U/19 GSC on the other hand were off to a patchy start with openers out for low scores but skipper Vaibhav continued his good form at no.3 with a solid 46 while left handed Ajit Yadav and Sheesh Shetty at the middle order smashed match winning fifties to take their team towards a healthy total. While Ajit scored a brilliant 84 off 140balls (9fours), Sheesh on the other hand wasted no time for his handy 64ball 63 laced with 8fours and 3sixes taking the team total of 293 in 78.3 overs. Left-arm spinners Akash Sharma and Purav Parikh bagged 3wkts each. Karnatak team were again struggling at 95/7 with Vignesh Solanki impressing one and all bagging 5wkts for 37runs. Left-arm spinner Vignesh has been a consistent bowler and has been improving with every game with his good line and length.
U/19 GSC team won the match on 1st innings and it was definitely a excellent team perfomance where all the boys gave their best to win the prestigious Naren Tamhane Tournament ’18.

Played between Bharat CC and Milton CC at the Bombay Gymkhana Ground, Azad Maidan. It was the all important finals between two really promising teams who have fought their way hard to reach the finals. Bharat CC who won the toss elected to bat first on a track which looked to bat on.
Bharat CC batting first did a commendable job as they notched up 309/6 in 45 overs which is a very good total to defend on this ground. Captain Bhavik Patel who opened the innings led from the front scoring a really crucial 126 off mere 93balls. Bhavik took on the bowlers with disdain smashing 19boundaries as he did not allow the momentum to change in the opposition’s favor despite a few wickets being lost in between. At the middle order, Sumedh Kamble and Prakash Aswani also gave crucial contributions with 43 & 46 respectively.

Chasing 310 in a finals at almost 7 to 8runs per over is always difficult as there is a lot of pressure and Milton CC did succumbed to the pressure of chasing getting all out for 140runs in 37.5overs. It was again Bhavik with the ball too as he took 4/27 in 9overs with his effective left arm spin making it an all-round perfomance.
Bharat CC won the finals and win the Kanga Knockout Tournament in style with the whole team performing really well together while it was definitely skipper Bhavik stealing the show in finals.

Played at the MB Union CC, Cross Maidan, U/19 Goregaon Sports Club and U/19 Chimaji Appa Vasai- two of the prestigious names in sports clashed with each other with Chimaji Appa skipper Satyalaksh Jain winning the toss and electing to bowl first.
U/19 GSC techinally could have suffered a batting collapse as only 66runs can be accounted for the 9batsman in the playing XI with remaining runs scored by skipper Vaibhav Kalamkar and solid opener Rishikesh Kulkarni. Rishikesh opening the innings gave a déjà vu’ of former England opener Mike Atherton who would irritate the bowlers by fighting at the crease for long time. Rishikesh dodged the bowlers and engaged in solid cricket which is rare nowadays as he scored 91* off 230balls (8fours) remaining till the end. On the other hand, Skipper Vaibhav Kalamkar confidently counter attacked scoring an elegant 160 off 206balls laced with 13fours and 3sixes at a healthy strike rate of 78.00 while also stitching a 211run stand with Rishikesh taking GSC towards a total of 311 in 94.2 overs.
On the other hand Chimaji Appa Vasai were all out for 135runs Saiprasad Naidu’s 37 being the highest score at the middle order. From the bowlers, Darshan Mangukia who is a left arm pacer was quite impressive taking 4/39 while the rest of the bowlers also did a good job as U/19 GSC team won the match in a dominating fashion.
