Another semi-final took place at the central maidan and this time it was between Thane Gramin Police and Ordinance Factory where in Thane Gramin Police won the toss and elected to bat first on the back of their good batting line up.

However, the pitch showed that it was more favorable for the bowlers and a big total on this ground is difficult with Thane Gramin Police all out for 149runs in 18.1 overs. Opener Hitesh Mhatre looked really confident taking on the bowlers with his 30ball 40. Apart from him, players failed to convert their 10’s and 20’s which resulted in a low total. From the bowlers, Nishant Mane (2/7) and Yash Singh (2/16) were the pick of the bowlers.

Thane Gramin Police however defended a moderately low total successfully as Ordnance Factory only managed to score 125/8 in 20overs despite opener Parag Patil’s hard fought 51 off 39balls (4fours). The bowlers did a collectively good job with Anil Shirsat being the pick of the bowlers taking 3/28 in 4overs. A solid left hander opening the innings, Pushkar has been a consistent batsman and a positive to come out from the Naren Tamhane and Manohar Sawant Tournaments. While many batsmen have come to the notice with their tons, Pushkar on the other hand has been silently giving good starts and scoring solid half centuries at the top of the order.

He came into notice from the Naren Tamhane Tournament where he scored a blazing 36ball 67 laced with 8fours and 4sixes. In that match he showed that he can give explosive starts. While the team total was 182/8 in 31.1overs, Pushkar scored more than 30% of the runs in that innings for the U19 Dilip Vengsarkar Mahul team. Then started the Manohar Sawant Tournament where Pushkar fresh from a fifty in Naren Tamhane tournament continued his good form scoring 69 off 89balls (7fours). It was on the back of his fifty, his team U19 Vengarkar Mahul reached 192/10 which they successfully defended against U19 Ordinance factory Ambernath by 25runs.

After that followed his 3rd back to back fifty and this time it was in the semi finals of the Manohar Sawant Tournament where Mahul electing to bat first declared at 252/2 with Pushkar Sharma scoring a sublime 61 off 70balls while also stitching a 110run stand with Akshat Jain. Played at the Vengsarkar Academy, Mahul, it was the all important finals between two really strong teams who have fought their way hard into the tournament with consistent cricket. However, their decision to bat first fell flat as Vichare Group were bundled out for mere 108/10runs in 19.2 overs which is definately not the best of the total to defend and especially in the finals when the pressure is high. Most of the batsman fell cheaply with many not able to convert their starts into big scores. The bowlers did an excellent job with Tushar Pawar’s excellent spell of 3/15 in 3.4overs being the pick of the lot while Ritin Ravindran with 3/25 in 4overs was equally impressive alongwith Pranay Raut’s 2/24 in 4overs.

Chasing 109 seemed to be a mere formality for the Kotak Mahindra boys with their openers giving a blazing start of 78runs under 9overs. While opener Rugved Chaudhary anchored the chase with an unbeaten 44* off 37balls (4fours.2sixes), Nishikant Sawant who opened with him also scored a quickfire 36 off 27balls.

Raj Desmukh who scored 50

Defending a moderate total of 234, SRT boys did a fantastic job of restricting Kalyan+Bhiwandi team to just 169runs all out with their opener Manav being their only top scorer with 46runs. Zenith Sachdev-a bowler who has been a great asset for SRT team this season continued to impress taking 3/38 while Mohit Tanwar also bagging 2wkts with his off-spin making it an all-round show.

Just fresh from a barbaric ton along with 5wkts in the Emric T20 Tournament, this boy seems to be raising his stakes in Delhi Cricket with consistent performances. He is taking the Delhi cricket circuit by storm and definitely looks like a good buy in the coming seasons of IPL if he keeps on playing like this.

In the match between DCA and MCA at the Ghevra Mundka Ground, DCA won the toss and elected to bat first on the back of their strong batting line up. DCA batting first made a massive total of 204/4 in 20overs Saurav Nautiyal opening the innings and thrashing the bowlers like a pro. Saurav went on to score an unbeaten 105* off mere 49balls laced with 12fours and 5sixes. Saurav once again pounced on the bowlers and covered every corner of the ground with disdain impressing one and all.

Defending a total of 205, MCA (Mumbai Cricket Academy) were all out for 121runs. Apart from their opener Rahul Tripathy who scored 28, the whole batting line up collapsed.
