Mumbai: SKCA, Mira Road’s opening batsmen, Shaurya Sharan (32* off 52) and Sanchit Kadam (30 off 44) put together a solid and steady opening stand to take their team into the semi-finals of the under-11 T-21 Cricket tournament organized by Sanjeevani Cricket Academy (SCA) at the Saffire ground in Bhakti Park, Wadala. Both the opening batsmen applied themselves and played sensible cricket to chase down the target with great ease. Put into bat, Vasant Vihar, Thane scored 124/5 as their in-form opener Sharman Divekar top scored with 65 in 66 balls. SKCA, on a strong opening foundation built by Shaurya and Sanchit comfortably chased down the target in 18.1 overs with nine wickets in hand and booked a place in the semis.
In the other match of the day, St. Arnold School registered their first win of the tourney as they beat Pro World Talent Cricket Academy by 18 runs. Batting first, St. Arnold School scored 139/4 as Vedant Lad (44 off 52) and Viraj Dave (31* off 24) chipped in with useful contributions with the bat. Pro World Talent Cricket Academy faltered in their chase as they were bowled out for 121 in 20.3 overs. St. Arnold School’s Rohan Dhuri was the standout performer in the bowling attack, picking up four wickets. Pro World’s batsmen, Nikash Nerulkar (38 off 48) and Anugrah Yedri (31 off 37) tried their best with fighting knocks, but couldn’t take their team past the finishing line.
Hosts Sanjeevani Cricket Academy with their second win yesterday in Group A and SKCA, Mira Road with their second win in Group B today, became the first two teams to qualify for the semi-finals. The next round of league matches of Groups C and D will be played on 27th, 28th and 29th November at the Saffire Ground in Bhakti Park, Wadala.

Mumbai: Two opening batsmen, Sanjeevani Cricket Academy’s Arnab Saksena and Dilip Vengsarkar Cricket Academy’s (Mahul) Abhigyan Kundu continued their rich vein of form as their classy knocks helped their respective sides to clinch convincing wins on the second day of the under-11 T-21 Cricket tournament organized by Sanjeevani Cricket Academy (SCA) at the Saffire Ground in Bhakti Park, Wadala. Arnab scored an attacking 73 in 54 balls, while Abhigyan steered his team to a win as he remained unbeaten on 74 in just 43 balls.
In the first match of the day, hosts SCA, after electing to bat first, scored a huge total of 201/2 against St. Arnold School. Arnab got good support from Arya Bele who scored a steady 63* in 59 balls. In reply, St. Arnold School could just manage 73/7 as Vedant Lad top scored for the team with a patient 25 off 54 balls. Extras (24) were the second highest scorer for the losing team. SCA’s Avinash Redekar (3/6) and Yash Rawat (2/14) bowled wicket-taking spells as the hosts won the match by 128 runs, their second consecutive victory in as many matches.
In the second match of the day, Vasant Vihar, Thane, riding on opener Sharman Divekar’s 39 and Tashva Kothari’s 29 scored 138/6 after electing to bat first. Dilip Vengsarkar Cricket Academy’s Aryan Sharma and Jiyan Lodya bowled well, picking up two wickets apiece. The chase started with a bang as Abhigyan looked in fine form, but didn’t get much support from the other end. He played a fighting knock and took his team to a win single-handedly by remaining unbeaten on 74 as Dilip Vengsarkar Cricket Academy, Mahul won their first match of the tournament by five wickets.

Fast bowlers are always a treat to watch and especially when they are in their elements. A fast bowler at his peak is not only a horror for the batsman but also a treat to the spectators.
In the match between Dahisar SC and Regent CC at the Cross Maidan, Regent CC took the right decision to bowl first as they restricted Dahisar SC to mere 48 runs all out all thanks to their Quickster Viren Dathiya. Right arm fast bowler Viren came up with envious bowling figures of 7/24 in 7.4 overs which was enough to bundle out the whole Dahisar team under 50 runs. It was an impressive spell with good line, length and accuracy as he kept on giving breakthroughs.
Regent CC declared their innings on 168/4 with opener Yatin Railkar scoring 64runs. Dahisar SC were 108/8 in their 2nd innings before the game ended with Regent CC winning the match on 1st innings lead.
Just fresh from a scintillating double hundred in his last match, Vikrant Auti is in smoldering form with the bat continuing his good season.
Mumbai Customs after electing to bat first at MB Union Ground were all out for 166 runs with Amit Pandey taking 5/50. However, Mumbai Customs gave a comeback with the ball bundling out Mafatlal CC to just 87 all out with S Yadav taking 4 wkts.
Mumbai Customs made a comeback with the bat too posting a healthy 344 runs on the board with Vikrant top scoring in the 2nd innings with a solid 129 (217 balls). A yet another sublime knock from Auti which helped his team regain a strong position in the 2nd innings as Mafatlal were posted a target of 417 runs. Mafatlal were crushed again for 121 runs in their 2nd innings as spinner Ankush Jaiswal came up with a match winning bowling spell of 7/25 in 16.2 overs with 8 maidens. Ankush was simply brilliant with the ball delivering at a crucial time as Mumbai Customs won outright by 350 runs.
The nail biting contest between Montage and ICICI was witnessed on Wednesday during the Automotive Cricket League T20 2018-19 at MIG Bandra, Mumbai. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Montage posed a respectable total of 157-8 in 20 overs. Middle order bat Aman Rajawat top scored with 57 off 44, and his innings was laced with six boundaries and three sixes. For ICICI, Nikhil Mandavkar and Jitesh purabiya picked up two wickets each.
In reply, ICICI did on get off to the best of starts as they lost their opening bat Karan Sonavale cheaply in the very first over. The other opening batsman Jitesh purabiya (59 off 49) and no. 3 bat Shlok (49 off 39) put their heads down and stitched a solid partnership of 100 runs for the second wicket. purabiya started off slowly but gradually accelerated, hitting three boundaries and as many sixes in his fighting knock. Things were looking good for ICICI but with the fall of Shlok’s wicket, the match took another turn. ICICI’s middle order collapsed in quick succession and in the end the team fell short of six runs (151-8 in 20 overs). For Montage, Kranti Kumar was the pick of the bowlers accounting for 3-19 in his two overs. Kumar received good support from Mohit Swasthi and Ramsarkh Yadav, both of them scalping couple of wickets apiece.
Though the match was won by Montage, the Man of the Match award was presented to ICICI’s Jitesh purabiya for his all-round performance. Jitesh averred, “After the loss of our first wicket in the first over, it was important for me and Shlok to steady the innings and we did that quite well. Unfortunately our middle order did not click and in the end we failed to see ourselves home. The wicket was good to bowl as well. I could generate enough pace from the wicket and am happy that I could grab a couple of wickets. I hope to continue my performance in the upcoming fixtures that will help my team to win”.
Leg-break bowler Pardeep Sahu who took twin five wkt hauls in the all important finals of the Police Shield seems to be in a rich vein of form as he continues to bamboozle the batsman with his deceptive leg breaks.
Played between AG (L&R) Club and Future Group at the New Hind Ground, Future Group team batting first were all out for 196 runs with Pardeep leading from the front taking 5/57 in 14 overs and a maiden. Pardeep Sahu was spot on with the ball giving a really hard time to the batsman.
AG (L&R) Club in return were all out for 296 runs with the match ending in a draw with AG bagging 3 points while Future Group bagging 1 point.
Kerala Windsor after being made to bat first at Cricket Club of India declared their innings on 209/7 with every batsman of their chipping in with 20’s and 30’s. The same case was with the Bluestar bowlers where Shabad, Anuj B and Anuj C chipped in with 2 wkts each while Omkar taking one wkt.
Bluestar CC in reply batted really with their openers giving a good start while Omkar Chettiar who opened the innings scored a fluent 61 (84 balls, 6 fours) and also stitched a 119 run stand with the skipper Vishal who top scored the innings with an unbeaten 84* (60 balls 9 fours, 3 sixes). Vishal who bats aggressively continues to impress by scoring runs consistently as Bluestar CC reached a total of 209/2 in just 36 overs with the match ending in a draw.
Even though the match was drawn but overall Bluestar CC looked more confident and dominating in the match.
PJ Hindu Gymkhana electing to bat first at Oval Maidan did a decent job of posting 253 /10 on the board with all the batsman chipping in with starts but none converting into a big score. Prathamesh Pawar at the middle order top scored with 53 runs while spinner Vinit Dhulap was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wkts.
MIG CC team who are in great form were off to a flying start with openers Sumit G (51 runs) and Swapnil giving a 104 run stand for the 1st wicket while skipper Kevin (75 runs) who came at no.3 took the positive momentum ahead with a 122 run stand with Swapnil who went on to score a match winning 100 (123 balls, 8 fours). It was an innings of hard work as he ran for 68 runs out of his 100 to help MIG win the match by 6 wkts.
There are spells which are impressive and then there are bowling spells which simply amaze you. 54 yr old Bhavesh Shah is not only an inspiration by playing cricket passionately at this age but he also stunned everyone coming up with a gem of a spell in the recently held match of Kanga League.
Mangrol CC after being made to bat first at Azad Maidan were bundled out for 105 runs thanks to the Young Parsee CC skipper Bhavesh Shah. The left-armer came up with an amazing spell of 5 wkts while conceding only 6 runs in 9 overs with 4 maidens leading the bowling attack with poise while little dynamo Farhan also gave good support with 3 wkts.
Young Parsee CC in reply made 142/7 with their middle order batsman Hanumant Matkar scoring a very crucial 50 off 69 balls while off-spinner Yogesh Shinde was the pick of the bowlers from Mangrol CC taking 5/61.
Young Parsee CC won the match on 1st innings lead and it was certainly skipper Bhavesh leading from the front alongwith Hanumant’ 50 which helped them stay on top. With this win they also top the G div table with 22 points and they also get promoted to the F Div.

Dadar Union batting first at Dadkar Maidan were all out for 286 runs with opener Yashasvi Jaiswal (87) and Sairaj Patil (86) chipping in with crucial 80’s. Sairaj continued his good form where he had scored a hundred in the last weekend. From the bowlers, off-spinner Akshay Jambhekar was the pick of the bowler taking 4/85 in 18 overs.
New Hind SC in reply batted really well posting up a total of 330/4 in 60.4 overs as Siddhant and Sachin at the middle order stitched a finely crafted 170 run stand. Right handed Siddhant at no.4 scored a brilliant 108 off 139 balls (13 fours, 1 six) while left-handed Sachin Yadav who came at no.5 scored a timely 102* off 102 balls (13 fours, 2sixes) not only keeping the scoreboard ticking but also helping New Hind SC win the match on 1st innings lead.
It was a smooth win for New Hind SC as these two promising boys Sachin and Siddhant came good at the middle order.
