The Zooter International School Dad’s Tournament witnessed an exciting contest on Sunday when JNS Jaguars and JNS Young Veterans locked horns against each other at RCF Sports Club, Chembur, Mumbai. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, JNS Young Veterans managed to put up 135-8 in 20 overs, courtesy opening bat Aneesh Vijekar’s delightful half century. Vijekar scored 61 off 42 and is innings was laced with 10 boundaries and couple of maximums. Keyur Shah of JNS Jaguars was the pick of the bowlers as he accounted for 3-28 in his four overs. The left arm medium fast bowler made good use of the his pace to account for three dismissals. Shah bowled well in tandem with Vivek Manchanda who scalped 2-13 in his two overs.
Chasing a respectable target of 136, JNS Jaguars got off to a solid start when the opening pair of Atul Ganeriwal (30) and Kunal Jhaveri (16) stitched a 47-run partnership in 32 balls. The batting of JNS Jaguars clicked as a team as each of them contributed to the team’s 5-wicket win. Each of the batsmen applied themselves well and played with a lot of maturity to see their team home. Vijekar’s 61 went in vain as JNS Jaguars chased down the target comfortably in 17.3 overs. With the ball, Jaymin Mehta of JNS Young Veterans picked up 2-21 in 2.3 overs, however his effort wasn’t good enough to restrict JNS Jaguars.
Keyur Shah, who picked up 3-28 in four overs was presented with the Man of the Match. Shah stated, “Zooter International School Dad’s Tournament is a fantastic platform and it is a matter of pride for me where I actually get a chance to be a child’s representative in a cricket tournament. I enjoyed bowling today as the wicket was very good to bowl on. JNS Young Veterans were looking solid and it was important for us to have a break through. In my one over I got rid of two of their batsmen which I think just turned the tables in our favour”.

Picking up from where he had left, Ajay Singh Janu of Montage struck yet another spectacular century during the Automotive Cricket League T20 on Sunday against IDFC at MIG Bandra, Mumbai. Opening the batting, Ajay’s blitzkrieg was unstoppable and he steered his team to a massive total of 216-3 in 20 overs. His 66-ball 105 was laced with nine boundaries and five sixes. However his delightful batting unfortunately ended when Singh was run out on the penultimate ball of the innings. Kranti Kumar (43) and Shubham Kamat (42 not out) joined the party as they took Montage to a magnificent score of 200 plus. Krushanu Shah and Dharmendra Sahu picked up one wicket each.
The lopsided affair ended on a horrible note for IDFC when Montage bundled out its opposition for a paltry 58 in 16.2 overs, losing the game by a huge margin of 158 runs. Opening bat Abhishek Sharma top scored with 19, however the rest of the batting line-up collapsed like a pack of cards. Surya Prakash was the wrecker-in-chief as he finished off his four over spell with 4-6. Sushil More chipped in with 3-5 in 1.2 overs and received good support from Mohit Awasthi and Shubham Kamat, who picked up one and two wickets respectively.
The man who hit two centuries back to back was presented with the Man of the Match for his stellar performance. Ajay Singh Janu exclaimed, “This seems like a dream. My joy knows no bounds and it is an incredible feeling to hit a century again in this match. I feel more confident about my batting now and look to repeat the same feat in the upcoming matches”.

After being made to bat first, Uttar Pradesh are in a really strong position notching up 621 runs in their 1st innings at the Kamla Club Ground in Kanpur. Riding on Shubham Chaubey (245) massive double ton and Aryan’s 121, U.P team certainly made things difficult for the Mumbai bowlers. Tanush Kotian was the pick of the bowlers from Mumbai picked up 5wkts giving 150 runs in a spell of 46 overs.
Mumbai in reply did not allow U.P to settle in easily as they also batted strongly managing to score 435 runs in their 1st innings. Bhupen who is definitely now the backbone and specialist opener of Mumbai team continued his purple patch with the bat scoring 166 off 290 balls laced with 22 boundaries. Bhupen as always looked rock solid and kept his calm at the crease even though the batsman from the other end were finding it difficult to convert their starts.
Uttar Pradesh is 157/2 in their 2nd innings and they are certainly having the upper hand in the match but Mumbai can bounce with an aim to win or atleast draw the match
Playing in the Zooter International School Dad’s Tournament, Vinay Jain of BD Royals got off to a flying start against Camp Rangers on Saturday at the RCF Sports Club, Chembur, Mumbai. Opening the batting, Jain scored a delightful looking 78 off 54 and played through all the 20 overs. His innings was marked with elegance and poise as he peppered the boundary rope eight times. BD Royals posted a mammoth 195-7. Camp Rangers’ Sushil Sanghvi was the star performer with the ball scalping 3-37 in his four overs.
Chasing a daunting target of 196, Camp Rangers failed to deliver as they were tamed at 148-4 in 20 overs, losing by 47 runs. Anish Bhansali (40 not out) and Kaushal Parikh (31) looked to take the game away from BD Royals but didn’t have the last laugh. Rishabh Shah, Rajiv Hingoo, and Kumar Adnani bowled well in tandem to pick up one wicket apiece.
Vinay Jain bagged the Man of the Match for his match winning knock. Vinay elucidated, “Zooter International School Dad’s Tournament gives us a chance to play professional cricket which otherwise would not have been possible. Talking about the match today, I enjoyed facing the pacers. Though the wicket was slightly slow to bat on, I was determined to play through. I am glad that my innings steered my team to an easy win”.

Mumbai: A fine all-round display by the promising Shravan Mhatre (48* & 1/17) helped his team, Achievers Cricket Academy win the title in the first Under-11 T-21 Cricket Tournament organized by Sanjeevani Cricket Academy (SCA) at the Saffire ground in Bhakti Park, Wadala. In a thrilling final, Achievers CA defeated Boys Cricket Club by five wickets on the penultimate ball of the tournament. It was a match that was worthy of a final, but at the end it was the Achievers Cricket Academy batsmen who kept their nerves and took home the winner’s trophy.
In the grand finale, Boys CC scored 139/5 after electing to bat first as Anirudh Naik (37* off 28) and Aniket Patil (31 off 52) chipped in with useful contributions. Chasing a stiff target, Achievers CA lost wickets in the middle, but Shravan Mhatre kept his cool and batted sensibly to score a steady unbeaten knock of 48 to steer his side to a title win. Shravan got good support from Ayush Kashyap who scored a patient 27 off 38 balls and Agneya Aadi, who scored an attacking 21 in just 11 deliveries that played a crucial role in the successful chase.
The winners and runners-up received glittering trophies, while the individual award winners received trophies and certificates for their performances throughout the tournament. The smiles and happiness on the faces of the players and their parents was a clear reflection of how much they enjoyed participating in this tournament that was wonderfully organized and conducted by the Sanjeevani Cricket Academy.

During a fixture of Zooter International School Dad’s Tournament, Fazlani United’s Alif Makani played a gem of an innings against Mount Litera on Saturday at the RCF Sports Club, Chembur, Mumbai. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Fazlani United posted a challenging total of 185-7 in 20 overs. Leading the batting from the front, Makani scored a 55 ball 78, that was laced with eight boundaries and two sixes. Alif played both, the spinners and pacers with ease. For Mount Litera, Shreepad Khedekar chipped in with 2-19 in his four overs.
In reply, Mount Litera was restricted to 149-9 in 20 overs, falling short by 36 runs. A few of their batsmen got off to starts but failed to capitalise on the same. Pradnesh Warke top scored with 28, while Alok Shah and Kaustav Ganguly made 23 and 22 respectively. For Fazlani United, Mohammad Farhan Attarwala was the pick of the bowlers with 3-17 in his four overs and received good support from Shams Lakhani and Abdul Kader Motorwala, both of them accounting for two dismissals each.
Alif Makani was presented with the Man of the Match award for his splendid batting display. Makani averred, “Zooter International School Dad’s Tournament is a nice platform and my experience in this competition has been great. I was a part of it last year as well. I am happy to contribute for my team’s win today. The wicket was a bit double paced but I was determined to play the ball on merit. I am looking forward to take this form going into the next game”

Riding on Ajay Singh Janu’s stellar performance with the bat, Montage clinched an easy win against Kotak Mahindra Bank on Saturday during the Automotive Cricket League T20. It was a day filled with a rare coincidence when the two opening batsmen scored an unbeaten 133 in their respective matches for a winning cause.
Batting first, Montahe put up a humongous score of 236 in 20 overs, losing just one wicket. The opening bat Ajay Singh Janu was firing on all cylinders as he amassed an unbeaten 133 off just 62 balls, smashing 17 boundaries and five sixes. Singh was hitting the sweet part of the bat regularly and giving a bitter taste of his stroke play to the Kotak Mahindra team. The opposition bowlers were hapless as they miserably failed to get the better of the opening bat. Devendra kadam was the lone wicket taker for the Bank.
Chasing a huge target of 237, it was important for Kotak to get off to a good start. However they kept losing wickets at regular intervals and never looked in the game to chase down the target. Anant top scored with 31, but could not find an able ally. Eight bowlers were used by Montage, with Aman being the pick of the bowlers with 2-4 in his one over. In the end, Kotak Mahindra Bank was bundled out for a paltry 117 in 18.1 overs, losing the match by an enormous margin of 119 runs.
Ajay Singh Janu was awarded as the Man of the Match and he stated, “I can’t express it in words but hitting a century in T20 is always special. The wicket was excellent to bat on and I relished playing the pacers today. I hope to continue on the similar fashion going ahead”.

On December 1, Automotive Manufacturers Private Limited (AMPL) completed its 70 years in style, when Team Automotive thrashed Yes Bank by a whopping sum of 142 runs during the Automotive Cricket League at MIG Bandra, Mumbai. AMPL could not have asked for a better start to kick off the new-year than the thumping win achieved by its cricket team on Saturday.
Riding on a master class performance of opening batsman Aditya Shemadkar, Automotive posted a daunting target of 227 in 20 overs. Aditya played an unbeaten knock of 133 (63), smacking 15 boundaries and five sixes. Shemadkar looked in phenomenal touch right from the word go and took the Yes Bank bowlers to task on Saturday morning. Azhar Ansari with a quickfire 44 (30) helped Automotive to get past the 200-run mark. The Yes Bank bowlers had a horrendous day at office and were completely unbankable as they could just pick up four wickets. Abhishek Chaurasia was the pick of the bowlers with 2-39 in his four overs.
In reply, Yes Bank could only manage 85 in 20 overs at the cost of five wickets. Aniket Sharma top scored with 34. The Automotive bowlers were disciplined and hit the right areas to restrict their opposition. Parth Mehta and Sarthak Gangavane scalped couple of wickets each in their four over spells.
Automotive’s Aditya Shemadkar bagged the Man of the Match award for his mind bolwing knock of 133 runs. Aditya expressed, “I am happy that I scored a century today. In my earlier matches I got the odd 30s and 40s but could not play a big innings. Our win today is even more sweeter as out company Automotive is celebrating its 70th anniversary. Mr. Bharat Sanghvi, Mr. Sachin Sanghvi, and Mr. Aditya Sanghvi have been the pillars of strength and have always encouraged us to play cricket”.

Mumbai: Boys Cricket Club will clash against Achievers Cricket Academy in the final of the Under-11 T-21 cricket tournament organized by Sanjeevani Cricket Academy (SCA) at the Saffire ground in Bhakti Park, Wadala. In the two semi-finals played today, Boys CC defeated Shahbaz Khan Cricket Academy (SKCA), Mira Road by sixteen runs, while Achievers Cricket Academy secured a convincing nine-wicket win overs hosts SCA.
In the first semi-final, Boys CC scored a fighting 133/3 after electing to bat first. Boys Cricket Club’s star batsman, Yuvraj Mali continued his good form scoring a fine unbeaten 73 in 68 balls. In reply, SKCA, Mira Road batsmen, Shaurya Sharan (42 off 57) and Yatharth Yadav (32* off 25) tried their best, but couldn’t take their side to a victory. Jay Bhanushali picked up two wickets for Boys CC as they emerged as the first team to enter the finals of the tournament.
In the second semis, hosts SCA scored 125/7 after electing to bat first. Opening batsman, Shreyansh Rai, with a solid knock of 71 in 62 balls was the lone contributor for the hosts. Arya Gaikwad bowled well for Achievers CA, picking up three wickets. The Achievers CA batsmen chased the target with great ease as their in-form opener Soham Sali (53* off 49) along with his partner Ayush Kashyap (41 off 44) built a match-winning opening partnership to set-up a final clash against Boys CC.
The final will be played at the Saffire ground in Bhakti Park, Wadala on Sunday, 2nd December at 9:30 a.m.

Into the all important finals of the IDBI Federal Tournament, Vengsarkar Academy locked horns with Mulund Gymkhana where in Vengsarkar Academy batting first at Mahul Ground notched up a defendable total of 181/8 in 22 overs. Aditya Balivada top scored the innings with a crucial 63 while Tushar Singh smashed a very useful 52 as both the boys ensure the team managed a good target to defend.
Mulund Gymkhana in reply managed 153/6 in 22 overs despite heroic efforts by Saif Khan who scored an unbeaten 75*.
Vengsarkar Academy won the match by 28 runs and win the finals lifting the trophy of the U13 IDBI FEDERAL INSURANCE TOURNAMENT’18.
