Pardeep took twin five wkt hauls in the all important Police Shield Finals showing his abundance of skills and experience at the right time. It was his 5 wkt haul in both the innings which helped Parkphene Cricketers win the prestigious Police Shield Finals.

Kaustub Pawar’s overall bowling figures were 10/44 in 21 overs where he outright dominated with the ball. Was a class act with the bat, now showing his talent with the ball too as he helped Tata Sports win in that match.

At no.4 is James Godad who took 6 wkts at the age of 52 in the Kanga League’18
The 52 yr old James Godad was an inspiration to many when he took 6 wkts while conceeding mere 13 runs in a Kanga Match. Playing for Achievers Cricket Club, his bowling helped him win over Shree Lad Club.

Umar Khan came up with impressive bowling figures of 8/18 in 15 overs with 7 maidens. It was his bowling spell which helped his team win the match with ease.

Played at the Matunga Gymkhana between Rizvi School and Gokuldham High School, Rizvi winning the toss opted to bat first bringing up a good 1st innings total of 287/10. Owais Shaikh was the leading scorer for Rizvi hitting an impressive 108 coupled with a good partnerhip with Mayank Teotia who scored 88 runs at a time when the other Rizvi batsman were found struggling against the wily off spin of Arsh Krishnater. Arsh from Gokuldham who had taken 5 wkts in the last weekend too continued to castle the batsman this time taking 6/81 in 22 overs with his impressive off spin while Roneet Thakkur chipped in with 4 wkts.
Gokuldham School in reply were all out for 240 runs where in Roneet Thakkur once again stamped his class scoring more than half of the team runs. Roneet was the highest scorer with a stroke filled 132 as he kept batting despite a collapse from the other end.
Rizvi were 100/5 in their 2nd innings with Roneet taking another 3 wkts before the end of the game’s play where they won the match on 1st innings.
New Hind SC electing to bat first at the PJ Hindu Gymkhana brought up a 1st innings total of 285/10 in 75.2 overs. New Hind SC who were at one point 4/63 and 5/99 got back into the game thanks to a valiant half century by the dependable and consistent Parikshit Valsangkar. Parikshit scored 63 off 82 balls (12 fours) at no.6 while Nehal Katakdhond also came up with a crucial 51 runs down the order at no.10 to revive the hopes for New Hind SC.
DY Patil in reply were off to a decent start with KP continuing his good form scoring a fluent 60 runs opening the innings while hard hitter Aman Khan who came at no.3 scored a sparkly 80 (103 balls) stitching a 137 run stand with Kaustub. The real game changing moment was yet to arrive when Subbu entered the crease scoring a classy 111 (127 balls) at no.7, Experienced campaigner Subramaniam once again delivered when the team needed him the most smashing 8 brutal sixes alongwith 7 boundaries as DY reached a 1st innings total of 343/10. Parikshit on the other hand made it an all-round show bagging 5/94 in 22.1 overs.
New Hind SC in their 2nd innings are 2 down for 156 runs with opener Karan Shah batting on 86* and Day 3 will be one interesting battle to watchout for.

Osians CC after electing to bat first at Cross Maidan could have been all out for under 130-150 odd runs had it not been Megh at no.4 coming up with a very fruitful 84 runs (8fours, 2 sixes). Megh smashed some really good shots and stayed intact at the crease ensuring Osians CC reach a respectable total of 219 /10 in 62.4 overs. Experienced off-spinner Amit Wadkar bowled an impressive spell taking 5/65 in 19.4 overs being the pick of the bowlers.
Navi Mumbai Police were all out for 85 runs thanks to the combined bowling efforts by the Osians CC bowlers which led them to a commanding win by 138 runs.
Future Group after electing field first at the Western Railways Ground restricted Nirlon SC to just 129runs all out in 57.5 overs. Opener Sandeep Kunchikor scored a gritty 67 scoring half of the team runs when the whole batting collapsed. Javed Khan was the pick of the bowlers taking 4/44 in 17 overs.
Future Group in reply were 110/5 at one stage before Alpesh Ramjani and Raunaq Sharma chipped in with half centuries with a crucial 110 run stand. Alpesh chipped in with 73 runs off 137 balls while Raunaq Sharma scored a crucial 59 at no.6 & 7. Yashraj Malap bowled an impressive spell taking 5/79 in 23 overs.
In the 2nd innings, Nirlon SC were all out for 190 runs with Akshay Jambhekar taking a fifer and Javed Khan taking another 4 wkts taking his tally of wickets to 8 in the match. Future Group chased down the score in 25.5 overs with Sachin Yadav scoring 80*followed by 52 in the 1st innings continuing his purple patch with the bat while Avdhoot Dandekar remaining unbeaten on 58* as Future Group won the match by 8 wkts.
Sony team after electing to bat first at Elf Vengsarkar Academy, Mahul batted aggressively making a healthy total of 229/6 in 20 overs which is most of the times a match winning total. Despite a shaky start and the rest of the batsman struggling, it was Vishal Pandey who simply changed the game in a matter of few overs. The innings definately reminded many of Mccullum’s 73 ball 158 vs RCB in the IPL 2008.
Vishal literally toyed with the bowlers covering every corner of the ground hitting 20 fours and 6 sixes reaching. Vishal reached his hundred in mere 37 balls while he ended the innings remaining unbeaten on 153* (64 balls) at a strike rate of 239.16. Prince Marine in reply managed to score 177/6 as Sony Pictures won the match by 52 runs while Vishal Pandey was declared ‘man of the match’ for his hurricane innings.
The Sassanian Maidan witnessed a thrilling quarter finals match between two promising teams where in Mafatlal Cricket Club and Space Sports Club took on each other where in Mafatlal opting to bat first notching up 218/10 in their 1st innings. Onkar Jadhav (78 runs) and Karan Nandey (50 runs) were the top scorers coming up with crucial half centuries.
Space Sports Club in reply were all out for 196 runs with Prasad Patil and Puneet Tripathy taking 4 wkts each. Puneet and Prasad were spot on with the ball as they tooks wickets at a crucial juncture in the match. Prasad who had scored a match winning 85 at no.8 in the 3rd match this time came handy with the ball. Mafatlal in their 2nd innings were 209/2 in 48.4 overs before the end of the game’s play where they won the match on 1st innings lead. Opener Harsh Khadiwal scored a flashy 68 while Karan Nandey remained unbeaten on 86*(149 balls, 10 fours) making it back to back fifties in the match. Siddhant Adhatrao who came at no.3 continued his sparkling form smashing a yet another half century.

Played between B.Arunkumar Sports Club and RBI at the Sunder CC Cross Maidan, B.Arunkumar SC won the toss and elected to bat first with an aim of capitalizing on the wicket and post a good total.
However, it wasn’t one of the fruitful decisions for as they were all out for 102 runs in 30.2 overs. The top order collapsed with Shamit at no.7 chipping in with 30 crucial runs taking the team’s total in the three digit figures. Abubakar Siddiqui bowled well taking 4 wkts while the rest of the bowlers also bowled well.
B.Arunkumar SC were in no mood to allow RBI to win the match easily as Shamit Shetty puzzled the batsman with his left arm spin taking 5/29 in 17.3 overs with 7 maidens reducing RBI to just 92 runs all out in what turned out to be a low scoring thriller.
B.Arunkumar Sports Club won the match and it was certainly captain leading from the front.
Into the all important quarters of the Times Shield B Div, Tata Sports Club took on Western Railways on their homeground where they were made to bat first by the Western Railway skipper.
The decision was indeed a wise one as the in-form batting line up of Tata Sports Club collapsed for 119 runs in their 1st innings. Smit Ghosh and Kunal Karamchandani were the primary destroyers taking 4 wkts each. Western Railways in reply also were about to suffer a big collapse as the Tata bowlers did not spare the batsman giving a tough fight but it was Surendra Malviya at no.10 changing the fortunes. These are the kind of innings which gets remembered for a long time as he scored a brilliant 82 ball 91* taking the team to 202/10. Surendra smashed 10 fours and 5 sixes at no.10 much to the amazement of the opposition.
Tata SC gave a fightback in the 2nd innings with the in-form Kaustub Pawar scoring a fighting 114 off 175 balls. The rest of the batsman batted around him as they reached a total of 267/9 and a lead of 186 runs. Western Railways chased down the score in just 38.2 overs and won the match by 8 wkts thanks to wicket keeper batsman Prasad Patil’s fluent 116*(122b, 18 fours & a six). Prasad opening the innings wasted no time as he ensured his team reached the semi-finals berth.
