Played between Roshan CC & Academy and Jolly Gymkhana Ghatkopar at the Fatima School Ground, Roshan CC electing to bat first posted a massive total of 231/2 in 20 overs. Roshan CC openers Swapnil and Haziq Nadeem (61 off 36) gave a flying start as they stitched a match winning 154 run stand in mere 13 overs. Swapnil Chavan opening the innings batted till the very end scoring 120* off 68 deliveries which had 16 fours and 4 sixes. It was an enterprising display of batting where the bowlers were thrashed in every corner of the ground.
Jolly Gymkhana in reply were all out for 74 runs as the bowlers did a brilliant job of bowling tight which helped Roshan CC win the match by 158 runs while Swapnil was declared ‘man of the match’.
In what turned out to be a relatively low scoring encounter between Toyota and Route Mobile on Saturday, in the Automotive Cricket League T20 that was played at MIG Bandra, Mumbai the former had the last laugh. Winning the toss and electing to field first, Route Mobile restricted Toyota to a paltry 122-9 in 20 overs, thanks to Aditya and Saeed, who wrecked havoc scalping three wickets apiece. Hitesh Parmar and Mohammad Amir joined the bowling party accounting for one and two wickets each. For Toyota, the top order collapsed in no time and it was left to the middle order to contribute with the bat. Coming in at no. 4, Aziz Shaikh, a right hand batsman, played a terrific innings of 48 from 42 balls. His innings was well constructed under pressure and his knock seemed like a light after the tunnel. Aamir Bhorania (26) and Chinmay Madaye (17 not out) helped Toyota to cross the 120-run mark.
After a solid performance with the ball, Route Mobile was expected to chase the modest total rather easily. However, Toyota came back strong with the ball and bundled out Route Mobile for 118 in 19.4 overs, winning the game marginally by four runs. Jaishal Wadiyal was the pick of the bowlers for Toyota as he picked up 4-17 in his four overs. Akram Khan and Chinmay Madaye accounted for two victims, whereas Rahil Shaikh had one dismissal to his name. A star with the bat, Aziz Shaikh, a right arm off spinner rolled his arm over to pick up the ultimate wicket of the match, thus helping his team clinch a nail biting victory.
Aziz Shaikh was bestowed with the Man of the Match award for his splendid all-round performance. Aziz averred, “Route Mobile is a good team and I am happy that I could perform against a strong side. After the top order faltered, it was important for me to holding the team batting together. I was determined to play a big knock for my side. With the ball, I was given the responsibility of bowling the final over. The opposition needed 6 off 6. It was a crunch situation and I held on to my nerves and ultimately delivered for team picking up the last wicket”.

Muslim United after being made to bat first at DY Patil could not make a huge impact getting bundled out for 127/10 in 20 overs. Pratap Kavdi scored a valiant 51* but Farhan Kazi’s spin proved too heavy for the batsman. Farhan was the pick of the bowlers coming up with envious bowling figures of 4/14 in 4 overs.
Fort Vijay while chasing made merry of the small total as Pankaj Jaiswal was in the mood to finish off things quickly. Pankaj coming at no.3 scored a swashbuckling 87* off 48 balls which had 8 biggies and 6 boundaries as Fort Vijay won the match by 7 wkts with as many as 6.2 overs to spare.

Santosh Sports Cricket Academy after being made to bat first scored 106/5 in 15 overs thanks to their consistent batsman Sourish Deshpande who has been runs in almost every game he has got to play. Opener Sourish scored a quick 39 with his partner Shardul (36 runs) which laid the foundation for their innings.
Mulund Gymkhana in reply managed to score 89/5 in 15 overs as SPCA bowlers were spot on coming up with tight overs. All the bowlers proved to be economical with Harsh and Darshan bagging 2 wkts each as SPCA won the finals by 17 runs.
It was a hard fought tournament where both the teams gave their best but eventually SPCA got the better of Mulund Gymkhana in the naili biting finale.

Rising Vision electing to bat first at Western Railways scored 240/4 in 20 overs thanks to Sagar Shah who at no.3 changed the game with his attacking batting. Sagar scored 100* off 46 balls which had 7 fours and 7 sixes as he thrashed the bowlers covering every corner of the ground with domination.
Wadala Warriors in return were bundled out for 49 runs thanks to some really tight bowling by Rohit Shukla who took 4 wkts while Saif, Bharat and Deepak taking 2 wkts a piece as Rising Vision won the match by 191 runs.
In the match between Utpal Sanghvi Global School and St.Mary’s at the Azad Maidan Ground, Utpal Sanghvi School after being made to bat first scored 233/6 in 40 overs where in Aarav Pushkarna who came at no.3 scored a brilliant 131 runs to help his team reach a good total. Hridik Hingorani (51) and Rahil Mehta (41runs) chipped in with the bat too. St.Mary Mazgaon in reply were all out for 95 runs where Rahil Mehta made it an all-round show taking 5/22 in 9 overs while Prem Parekh taking 3 wkts as Utpal Sanghvi Global School won the match by 139 runs.
In the match between Anuman-E-Islam School and Campion School at the Azad Maidan Ground, Campion after electing to bat first were all out for 36 runs thanks to a terrific bowling spell by Azim Shaikh who came up with 6/18 in 7 overs. Azim was spot on with the ball and impressed everyone while Sujit Dalvi also took 3 wkts for 2 runs in 1.4 overs. It was a mere formality for Anjuman boys to chase as they won the match by 8 wkts.
Raj Desmukh who is in brilliant form this year continued his batting onslaught in the Giles Shield. After scoring 175 in his previous match, there is no stopping him as he scores this time. VN Sule after electing to bat first at Oval Maidan once again posted a big total of 293/1 in 45 overs. Raj Desmukh opening the innings took on the bowlers once again as he scored 148* off 124 balls laced with 12 boundaries. Shubham Shinde also batted really giving excellent support to Raj Desmukh as he scored 108*. Lakshadham School in return were all out for 87 runs where in Raj chipped in with the ball too taking 2 wkts for 4 runs.
Played between VK Krishna Menon School and SVDD at the Oval Maidan, SVDD batting first were all out for 39 runs. Two promising young bowlers from VK Krishna Menon School Sahil Malbari and Rishi Khamkar came up with impressive bowling spells. Sahil took 5 wkts for 8 runs with 3 maidens in 7 overs while Rishi Khamkar took 5 wkts for 15 runs in 7 overs as both the bowlers demolished the batting line up of the opposition team.
VK Krishna Menon School in return chased down the score with ease winning the match by 9 wkts while Sahil and Risihi turned out to be the highlight performers in the match.
ICICI who were struggling at one point with 2 quick wickets at the Cross Maidan ground got back into the game thanks to their promising batsman Karan who played a match saving knock of 110* off 105 balls which had 11 fours and 2 sixes. Karan who displayed controlled aggression also got good support from Nikhil Shiguan who scored a 56 ball 69 as ICICI reached a defendable total of 254/4 in 40 overs.
L&t gave a good fight with their batsman chipping in with 30’s and 40’s while Nishit scoring 69 runs but they eventually fell short of the target getting all out for 227 runs as ICICI clinched a win by 27 runs.
Played at the Western Railway Ground, it was the all important finals between two teams who have played consistently well throughout the tournament. Mafatlal CC after electing to bat first were all out for 138 with opener Harshad Khadiwale showing his experience with a polished 53.
Pushkaraj Chavan came up with a crucial spell at a time when team needed a bowler to fire bagging 6 wkts for just 47 runs in 15 overs. Pushkaraj took wickets at regular intervals which eventually led to Mafatlal’s batting collapse.
Mumbai Customs were 292/3 in 68 overs thanks to their in-form opener Swapnil Pradhan who scored a brilliant 144*off 183 balls (20 fours) continuing his consistency with the bat. Swapnil now has 617 runs in 7 innings this year in Times Shield’18 while Akash Parkar who came at no.5 scored 85* off 103 balls (11 forus, 3 sixes) as Mumbai Customs were way past the 1st innings lead winning the ultimate finale on 1st innings lead.
Greater Mumbai Police after being made to bat first at Central Maidan, Thane made a mammoth 331/2 in 30 overs. Thanks to their opener Rajesh Tandel, the 46 yr old proved age is just a number as he went on to score a thundering 179 off 94 balls laced with 22 fours and 9 sixes thrashing bowlers in every corner of the ground. Rajesh also stitched a big partnership with Humayun Hirapure who was equally destructive smashing 119 off mere 60 balls with 15 fours and 7 sixes.
Akumentis in reply were all out for 175 runs with Sunil Patil and Prashant Solanki taking 3 wkts each as Greater Mumbai Police won the match by 156 runs.
