Tvacha electing to bat first at Belapur Sports Association notched up a massive total of 217/4 in 20 overs. Aggressive opener Ganesh Samant displayed impressive power hitting scoring 99 off 46 balls laced with 11 fours and 6 biggies at a strike rate of 215.22 falling just a run short of what could have been a very deserving ton. Sameer Shaikh coming at no.6 gave the finishing touch smashing one of the quickest fifties of the tournament smashing 54* off mere 18 balls (5 fours, 4 sixes).

Worli in reply managed 95/9 in 20 overs with Amir Khan and Fahad Jajral coming up with brilliant spells. Amir took 3/12 in 4 overs while Fahad took 2 wkts with just 6 runs in 4 overs as they helped Tvacha win by 122 runs

IDBI Federal after electing to bat first at Dadar Union Ground notched up a very heavy total of 204/5 in 20 overs. Opening the innings, Vicky Patil simply entertained the spectators with his blazing batting as he went on to score 133* off mere 65 deliveries. Vicky single handedly changed the game smashing 14 fours and 6 sixes at a healthy strike rate of 204.55 as he brought his team into a commanding position.

CSPL chasing 205 did gave a tough fight with Priyank and Danish scoring quick half centuries but they eventually fell short by 11runs managing 193/9 in 20 overs where in Vicky was the best bowler too taking 3/24 in 4 overs.

Zooter International School Dad’s Tournament featured AIS Spark and JNS Jaguars locking horns against each other on Sunday at Air India Sports Club, Mumbai. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, AIS Spark had a horrific start to their innings as they lost their first three wickets inside three overs. The opening pair of Vikesh Bhutani and Suneer Kotian made their way back to the dressing room without troubling the scorers. In the middle order, Aditya Jain (26) and Abhishek Javeri (34) tried to consolidate and helped their side put up a decent score on the board. AIS Spark scored 120-9 in 20 overs. JNS Jaguars’s opening bowler Rohit Saraf was the wrecker-in-chief as he scalped 4-6 in his four overs. The right arm medium fast bowler was sharp, accurate, and yielded rich dividends for his stellar effort.

In reply, JNS Jaguars chased down the target quite comfortably as they scored 121-4 in just 12.3 overs, winning the match by six wickets. Atul Ganeriwal (23) and Pratik Chitalia (19) provided a solid start to the chase, and ensured that there was no trouble for the batsmen to follow. Coming in at no. 5, Hemal Chitalia played a delightful innings of 47 that came off just 29 balls. Hemal’s unbeaten knock comprised of seven boundaries and a six. For AIS Spark, Rajesh Saluja was the pick of the bowlers accounting for 2-25 in his four overs. Aazaz Khan and Viswamitra Hariharan bagged a wicket each.

For his splendid bowling performance, JNS Jaguars’ Rohit Saraf was presented with the Man of the Match. Rohit averred, “I am happy with my today’s performance. In the first half an hour of the game, the wicket was very good to bowl on. I extracted good pace and bounce from the wicket. The fielders supported me with their electrifying effort on the ground. It was a marvelous experience playing at Air India Sports Club. Many thanks to Zooter for organizing such a wonderful tournament”.

Skipper Parag Khanapurkar confidently elected to bowl first to put the powerful DY Patil under pressure at the MIG Ground and his decision ticked off successfully too. DY Patil who have a very dangerous batting line up full of hard hitters and consistent batsman choked up in the crucial finals getting all out for 132 runs in 19.5 overs. Left-arm fast bowler Royston Dias rose to the occasion coming up with a beautiful spell of 4/27 in 3.5 overs while Atif and Shardul coming up with 2 wkts each.

Payyade SC in reply chased down the score thanks to their solid in-form opener Akhil Herwadkar scoring back to back fifties. Akhil scored 65 off 47 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes while the rest of the batsman batted around him as Payyade won the match by 5 wkts and 1.3 overs to spare.

It was the all important finals at the Sainath Sports Club where in National School Girls and St.Xaviers took on each other with NHS winning the toss and opting to bat first.

National High School girls made 136/10 in 19.2 overs with their openers Sara Sampat and Prapti Nibde scoring crucial cameos of 38 & 30 runs. Medium pacer Jayshree Bhutiya was the pick of the bowler taking 4 wkts for 60 runs in 10 overs.

St.Xaviers were made to face some really tight bowling as NHS girls successfully defended a low total restricting the opposition to 114/6 in 20 overs. Left-arm bowler Vedashi Patil was simply spot on with the ball coming up with a match winning spell of 4/44 in 10 overs.

National School girls won the finals and win the prestigious tournament for their school on the back of great team performance. Even in the Semi-finals, National School Girls created history by scoring 224 runs for no loss in 20 overs against John Cannon School. Opening pair made an unbeaten partnership of 224 runs where in Prapti Nibade scored 89*& Sara Samant 77*.

Way to go for the girls as Women’s Cricket keeps on growing leaps and bounds.

RIAMS after opting to bat first Chereshwar Club Trombay notched up a very healthy total of 188/5 in 20 overs. All the batsman from RIAMS gave starts and quick cameos which took them to a defendable total.

VK Architects in reply were all out for 148/10 in 17.4 overs, thanks to some wonderful bowling by Huzefa Mehsaniya. Huzefa took 5/25 in 3.4 overs which are anyday commendable bowling figures in the 20 format as he was spot on with is line and length giving timely breakthroughs. Rehan Khan with 4/26 was equally impressive for RIAMS as they won the match by 40 runs where in Huzefa was declared ‘man of the match’

 

SVIS Borivali has truly been one school which can be called as the temple of cricket. Suved Parkar, Ayush Jethwa, Siddhesh Lad, Rohit Sharma, Shardul Thakkur, Harmeet Singh and so many more names often do the rounds in the cricketing world who have been products of SVIS School. One more boy who has achieved impressive bowling figures from SVIS is Karan Patole with a 9 wkt haul vs St.Anne’s.

St.Anne’s after electing to bat first at the Khar Gymkhana Ground were all out for mere 67 runs thanks to a stunning spell by Karan coming up with envious bowling figures of 9/39 in 7 overs with 2 maidens. Karan remained just a wicket away from the elite record of taking all 10 wkts in an innings as he completely dismantled St.Anne’s batting line up with perfect line and length.

It was a mere formality for SVIS to chase down the paltry score of 67 as their openers did the job with ease as SVIS Borivali won the match by 10 wkts with Karan surely standing out with his impressive bowling performance.

Played between IES VN Sule and Bombay Scottish School at the Islam Gymkhana Ground, IES VN Sule opted to bat first winning the toss and went on to score a big total of 363/3 in their 1st innings. Tanay Khandeshi scored a magnificent 163* smashing 16 fours and 2 sixes as he continues to be one consistent batsman for IES VN Sule. Shubham Shinde who is another in form player of along with Raj chipped in with 103 and 64 runs respectively as IES were in a commanding position.

Bombay Scottish School were bundled out for 192 runs and the one boy who won the hearts of many was Aditya Giri. Aditya reminded everyone of Dravid and Puajra as he single handedly fought alone to score 152* out of the team total of 192 runs. Aditya Giri who had taken 6/23 just some time ago in Giles now impressed everyone with the bat. Parth Ankolekar was the pick of the bowlers taking 5/50. Bombay Scottish recivieving a follow on were 10/8 with Tanay Khandeshi taking 4 wkts in the 3rd innings taking his tally of wkts to 5 in the match.

IES VN Sule won the match on 1st innings lead and Tanay Khandeshi, Aditya Giri and Shubham Shinde stood out with their individual performances.

Just fresh from a 53 ball 92 in the Dreamz T20 Trophy for RBL vs HP Enterprises in the last weekend, opener Ravi Parmar seems to be on a roll with his aggressive batting at the top of the order.

RBL after being put to bat first by Mahindra at Cross Maidan were least affected to bat first as they batted very strongly posting a huge total of 251/3 in 20 overs. The bowlers apart from being haywire with their ling & length also conceded 30 extras which resulted in a huge total for RBL. Ravi Parmar opening the innings scored half of the team runs as he went on to score a brilliant 56 ball 119 laced with 17 bounadries and a strike rate of 200+. Pranesh who came at no.3 also scored a crucial 35 ball 71 which further accelerated RBL’s run rate.

Mahindra in reply were all out for 85 runs thanks to some brilliant bowling by Jigar, Ronesh and Ashwin as RBL won the match by 168 runs while Ravi Parmar was declared ‘man of the match’

Titans after electing to bat first at Western Railway Ground could not muster a big total on the board managing 140/7 in 20 overs. Star India bowlers did a good job bowling on point with a control on their economy rate.

Chasing 141, opener Mandar Todankar just made it look so easy finishing off the match for Star India in just 16 overs. The aggressive opener smashed 100 runs off mere 47 balls laced with 14 fours and 5 sixes as the match simply slipped out of Titans in a matter of few lusty blows by Mandar who played at a strike rate of 212.77

Star India won the match by 7 wkts and Mandar was rightly declared ‘man of the match’ for his ravishing 100 runs.
