Played between Don Bosco School and Shree Amulakh Amichand Eng Med School at the Matunga Gymkhana Ground, Amichand School won the toss and elected to field first.
Don Bosco notched up a massive total of 427/7 in 45 overs despite their top order collapse. Sahil Jadhav who came at no.4 scored a swashbuckling 151 off mere 110 balls smashing 20 fours and 2 sixes. Sahil also got great support from Bhushan Sawant who came at no.6 as he scored a brilliant 133 of 77 balls (18fours, 2 sixes). Sahil and Bhushan ensured their team got back into the game as they dominated bowlers upfront taking Don Bosco to a very big total.
Amulakh Amichand School were bundled out for 108 runs where in medium pacer Harsh Mendon was the pick of the bowlers coming up with 5/29 in 7 overs.
Don Bosco won the match by 319 runs earning a big win in the tournament.
SVIS after electing to bat first at Khar Gymkhana Ground scored a very decent total of 267/6 in 45 overs. Openers Atharva Deshpande & Ishan Roy gave a solid start stitching 89 runs for the 1st wicket. Ankrish Raghuvanshi and Sourabh Singh who came at no.4 and 5 further solidified SVIS’s innings with a 130 run stand for the 4th wicket. Ankrish top scored for SVIS scoring 73 runs while Sourabh was the 2nd highest scorer with a quick 67 runs.
Rizvi Springfield High School in reply had all their batsman chipping in with starts but they lacked someone who could take the match till the end and convert his good start into a match winning knock. All-rounder Sourabh who scored 67 runs was the pick of the bowlers with 4/53 in 10 overs while Ayush Jethwa and Mihir Gawade taking 3 wkts each.

Zooter International School’s Dad Tournament witnessed a one sided affair on February 2 at RCF Sports Club, Mumbai, when OIS Blasters locked horns against Camp Rangers. Winning the toss and electing to field first, Camp Rangers restricted OIS Blasters for a paltry 127-8 in 20 overs, thanks to the bowling brilliance of Sudarshan Roongta. Coming in as the first change, the slow left arm bowler had a wonderful day at office as he struck with 4-14 in his four overs. Roongta’s bowling was typically characterized by disciplined line and length on a consistent basis. For OIS Blasters, it was Rajan Chhibber who top scored with 36, lower down the order.
In reply, Camp Rangers achieved the target convincingly, finishing off the game in just 14 overs with nine wickets in hand. Opening bat Kaushal Parikh (49 not out) and number three batsman Anish Bhansali (51 not out) batted right through the innings steering their team to an easy win. Both these batsmen never allowed the opposition to get in the game, and were a treat to watch. For OIS Blasters, Anal Patwa was the solitary wicket taker, who picked up Mukund Jalan (5).
Sudarshan Roongta of Camp Rangers was awarded as the Man of the Match for his spectacular performance with the ball. Roongta stated, “The wicket was pretty good to bowl on. The ball was skidding on to the batsmen and I took full advantage of this. It is always a proud feeling for us to play the Zooter’s tournament. It is one of the best competitions in the city and is an extremely well-organized affair”.

Bluestar CC after being made to bat first at the New Hind Sports Club Ground were 4/43 and 5/85 at one point but they got back into the game thanks to Bluestar’s most reliable set of all-rounders Prathamesh Golatkar and Rakesh Naik. Prathamesh at no.6 scored a 51 ball 50 while Rakesh Naik at no.7 scored a brilliant 97 off 86 balls hitting 5 fours and 6 sixes to change the script of the game as the team total reached a defendable 248/8 in 45 overs.
Milton CC on the other hand despite their openers falling out quickly were back into the game with a 134 run stand by Rahul & Darshan. However, it was Rakesh’s day as he changed the game with the ball too coming up with game changing bowling figures of 5/39 in 9 overs as Milton CC were all out for 231 runs.
Bluestar CC won the match by 17 runs and reach the semi-finals of the Bombay Junior Tournament’19
Holy Cross Convent School electing to bat first at the Ours CC ground were left in deep trouble getting all out for 122/10 in 40.4 overs. Adwait Palsule who has been one of the leading wicket takers in this tournament continued to impress coming up with a match winning spell of 6/33 in 12.4 overs with 3 maidens. Adwait has been one impressive bowler maintain good line and length which is reaping rewards to the off spinner.
Tarapur Vidyamandir received a tough fight but eventually chased it down in 26.5 overs winning the match by 3 wkts.
Kerala Windsor CC after being made to bat first at Bengal Club, Shivaji Park managed to score 198/9 in 45 overs. Even though the rest of the batsman struggled, Anshul Murli’s 54 at no.3 was the highest score for their innings.
Chasing 199, Mohan CC were 64/5 at one point but opener Omkar Rahate stayed solid anchoring his team towards a successful chase. Omkar batted till the very end scoring 100*off 126 balls with 9 fours while Adarsh and Sagar at the middle order chipped in with cameos as Mohan CC won the match by 4 wkts.
Parsee Gymkhana after opting to bat first made a decent total of 179/7 in 20 overs. Two of the experienced campaigners of Mumbai Cricket-Suryakumar Yadav who has been in good nick continued to rise to the occasion smashing a solid 59 while Aditya Tare played a equally fruitful knock of 51 runs. Newest IPL Entrant Shubham Ranjane’s late came of quick 34 did the finishing touch to Parsee Gymkhana’s innings. Royston Dias has been impressive this season once again coming up with a impressive t20 spell of 4/24 in 4 overs.
MCA Colts on the back of Hardik Tamore’s 50 & Chinmay Sutar’s 34 did appear to be strong while chasing but as luck would prevail coupled with tight bowling, MCA Colts fell short by 3 runs.
It was a nail biting finale where in Parsee Gynkhana won the match by 3 runs retaining their title as they again lift the coveted RFS Talyarkhan Trophy.
Automotive CC after being made to bat first at the Karnatak Cross Maidan managed to score 234/8 in 43 overs. Despite a few early wickets they had their batsman chipping in with Aditya Shemadkar (38) and Akash Nair (36) being the top scorers for their team.
Naval Dockyard in reply had 2 batsmen scoring half centuries namely Mangesh Vaity (57) & Hemant Patil (50) but they lacked support from the other end eventually falling short of 12 runs. Automotive bowlers did an impressive job with Girish, Shoeb and Sushant taking 2 wkts each as Naval Dockyard were bundled out for 222 runs.
Under the able leadership of their skipper Sachin Sanghvi, Automotive team which is already a strong team in the corporate category now makes a mark in the club category too winning the D Division of the Times Shield’19. Automotive CC won the match by 12 runs as they keep making a mark as a strong cricketing team across various formats and categories.
It was a day of intense cricketing atmosphere as 2nd feb witnessed 2 semi finals and a final where in there were numerous promising performances. Mandeep Singh’s solid 52 made all the difference as DY Patil A defeated DY Patil B reaching the finale while on the other hand Nikhil Naik who has been in great form once again rose to the occasion as his brutal 95 helped Reliance win and take on DY Patil A in the finals.
So finally it was a battle between Reliance 1 and DY Patil A at the iconic DY Patil Stadium where in Reliance 1 opting to bat first scored a healthy total of 180/6 in 20 overs. Nikhil Naik continued his onslaught hitting a 36 ball 53 opening the innings while Ankul Roy at no.6 played a very important knock of 50* in mere 36 balls which accelerated the team to a decent total.
DY Patil A despite a few setbacks had their in-form Mandeep Singh finishing of the chase in supreme style as he scored a match winning 78* off 51 balls at no.3 Mandeep anchored the chase perfectly while Shubham Ranjane (39) and Rahul tewatia;s 13 ball 31* changed the game. It was a brilliant cameo of tewatia and Mandeep’s solid batting which helped DY Patil A cross the victory line in just 19.2 overs.
DY Patil A skipper Iqbal Abdullah and boys certainly dominated right from the beginning as they lift the coveted title of the DY Patil T20 Cup’19.
