Apollo CC after opting to bat first at Shivaji Park Dadar did not have a single batsman crossing 25 runs apart from their opener Sairaj Sangle scoring a valiant hundred. Sairaj despite lacking support from the other end batted till 68 overs scoring a brilliant 131 off 190 balls smashing 14 fours en-route his solid century taking the team total to 258/10 in 75.1 overs. Off-spinner Mairaj Khan came up with envious bowling figures taking 5/51 in 21.1 overs.
Shivaji Park Gymkhana on the other hand had a solid start from their openers with Vaidik Murkar scoring a anchoring knock of 90 runs in 103 balls (13 fours, 1 six). All-rounder Varun Joijode who came at no.8 scored a match winning 61* off 86 balls which helped his team cross the victory line by 2 wkts chasing down the score of 259 in 63.5 overs.
Boys CC D after being made to bat first at the Union Cricket Academy were bundled out for 97 runs where in Pranay Shinde with 4/12 was the pick of the bowlers. The rest of the bowlers also bowled tight restricting Boys CC to a low total.
PAB CC Bhiwandi who were 3 down for 9 runs at one stage got back into the game as in-form Raj Patil once again showed his skills scoring an impressive 56* off 45 balls laced with 9 fours & a six chasing down the target in just 15.5 overs.
PAB CC won the match by 6wkts while Raj’s 56 remained the highlight performance of the match.

Mumbai Police Gymkhana electing to bat first at Sainath Sports Club scored 386/9 in 90 overs. Despite a few early wickets, the experienced Rohit Pol changed the game with his elegant knock of 159*.
Rohit scored 159* in 266 balls laced with 16 fours and 4 sixes as he stabilized Mumbai Police Gymkhana’s innings till the very end. Humayun Hirapure and Santosh Shinde also chipped in with half centuries. Medium pacer Rahul Chaudhary with 5/61 in 14 overs was the pick of the bowlers for Sainath SC.
Sainath SC in reply were all out for 258 runs despite two fighting half centuries by Jigar Rana (58) & Umesh Gurjar (77). Left-arm spinner Anirudha Mainkar with 4/43 was the pick of the bowlers while the rest of the bowlers also did a good job as Mumbai Police Gymkhana won the match by 122 runs.
CCI after being made to bat first at the Dadkar Maidan ground were off to a patchy start with both their openers back in the hut quickly but it was their experienced warhorse Vinit Indulkar and in form Karan bringing their team back into the game. Vinit coming at no.3 scored a solid 137 off 153 balls (14 fours, 3 sixes) while Karan Nandey played a equally solid knock of 126 runs in 179 balls (14 fours) as both the batsman stitched a crucial 234 run stand for 3rd wicket taking CCI to 384/9 in 90 overs.
New Hind SC in reply were bundled out for 247 runs where in Avdhoot Dandekar at no.5 played a gem of a knock when the scoreboard was reading 7/89 at one stage. Avdhoot scored more than half of the team runs smashing a well fought 138 off 143 balls (22 fours, 1 six) despite lacking support from the other end.
CCI won the match by 137 runs but it was Avdhoot’s fighting ton and Vinit-Karan’s partnership which remained the highlight performance of the match.
United Cricketers after being made to bat first managed to score 193/10 in 69.3 overs. Niraj Patwari top scored with 71 runs but the rest of the batsman found it difficult to get going. Left arm spinners Vighnesh Solanki and Jash Lalan were the pick of the bowlers taking 4 wkts each.
Karnatak SA on the other end were bundled out for 87 runs as they were not able to decode young Dhruva’s wily left arm spinners. Dhruv came up with a match winning bowling spell of 7/22 in 9 overs taking crucial wickets at regular intervals. Dhruva castled the batsman and especially the middle order helping United Cricketers win the match by 106 runs.
Pravin Tambe CA start with a big win
Mumbai: Pravin Tambe Cricket Academy started their campaign on a positive note as they beat Pro World Cricket Academy by 41 runs on the first day of the Reliance Health Insurance Sanjeevani Cricket Academy under-13 T-21 Cricket tournament played at the Saffire Ground in Bhakti Park, Wadala. Electing to bat first, Pravin Tambe CA scored 136 for nine as Rudra Adali and Ved Vichhi chipped in with identical scores of 16. Nikash Nerulkar and Kanav Bhajoriya picked up two wickets each for the Pro World CA.
Chasing a stiff target if 137, Pro World CA crumbled under pressure and were bowled out for 95 in 18.5 overs as Shourya Joshi bowled a match-winning spell of 4/25. Tanish Shetty scored a fighting 39 off 34 balls for Pro World, but did not get any support from the other end.
Earlier in the day, the tournament was inaugurated by former Ranji Trophy cricketer Nishit Shetty, senior Mumbai and IPL leg-spinner Pravin Tambe and Reliance Health Insurance’s Sayan Pal in presence of Trustees of Sanjeevani Cricket Academy.

Raunak Patel bowls Pravin Tambe CA to a huge win
Mumbai: The promising young bowler, Raunak Patel of Pravin Tambe Cricket Academy bowled a match-winning spell of four overs, two maidens, two runs and six wickets that helped his side thrash St. Arnold by nine wickets in a totally one-sided clash on the second day of the Reliance Health Insurance Sanjeevani Cricket Academy under-13 T-21 Cricket tournament played at the Saffire ground in Bhakti Park, Wadala. Electing to bat first, the St. Arnold side were bowled out for a paltry total of 18 in 9 overs as Raunak ran through the batting line-up. Opener, Shreyas Sabnis was the top-scorer (8 off 10 balls) as six batsmen of St. Arnold were dismissed for zero. In response, Pravin Tambe CA lost a wicket, but easily chased the score in two overs to register a convincing win.
In the other match of the day, Dilip Vengsarkar CA, Oval closely beat Boys CC by eight runs to start their tourney on a winning note. Batting first, Dilip Vengsarkar CA scored 113/7 as Aryan Deshmukh scored a fine knock of 54 in 44 balls. Jay Bhanushali was the most successful bowler for Boys CC as he picked four wickets in his five overs that included two maidens and gave away just five runs. Chasing a target of 114, the opening batsman of Boys CC, Ayush Patil fought hard, scoring 38 in 59 balls, but his effort went in vain as his side fell short by eight runs. Ayush Singh (3/16) and Samrat Bhat (2/17) bowled well to restrict the opposition.

Zooter International School Dad’s Tournament witnessed a relatively low scoring Championship Knockout match on February 10 at RCF Sports Club, Mumbai. JNS Young Veterans and Utpal Warrior locked horns against each other in the all important knockout match. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, Utpal Warrior put up a dismal show with the bat as their innings was tamed at 138-9 in 20 overs. Urvish Bosmaya (3-24 in four overs) and Sanjeev Jhaveri (3-25 in four overs) were the star performers with the ball as both these players wrecked havoc scalping three wickets apiece. Between them they just gave away 49 runs picking up six wickets. Coming in at no. 5, Asgar Khan was the lone warrior for Utpal Warrior with the bat, as he top scored with 42 off 24.
Chasing a modest total of 139, JNS Young Veterans chased down the target in 19.4 overs, winning the match by four wickets. Siddharth Chavda (31), Sanjeev Jhaveri (36), and Ravi (39 not out) got off to starts, contributing to their team’s win. For Utpal Warrior, the opening bowler Shakti Kapoor bowled his heart out to pick up 4-29 in his four overs, however could not restrict the JNS Young Veterans from achieving the target.
The right hand batsman and right arm medium pacer Sanjeev Jhaveri bagged the Man of the Match for his stellar performance with both, bat and ball. Sanjeev expressed, “The wicket was slightly on the slower side. Though we lost a couple of wickets in quick succession, I was determined to hang on and provide the required stability to my side. When we were bowling, it was essential for us to restrict the opposition to a modest score. Asgar Khan from the other team was looking good. I got the keeper to stand close in for him, so that his movements could be curtailed. I am pretty happy with my performance today, since I could contribute with both, bat and ball for my team’s win”.

Mafatlal CC after being made to bat first at Central Maidan, Thane scored a very defendable total of 242/5 in 35 overs. Karan Nandey opening the innings went on to score a match winning 108 off 105 balls which had 9 fours and 2 sixes. Karan who just recently scored 126 a few days back in Young Comrade continued his good form as he batted well while he also got good support from his opening partner Arman Shaikh who scored a quick 40 ball 50.
Godrej Staff Club in reply were bundled out for 88 runs thanks to a crucial bowling spell by left arm spinner Rohit Singh who took 4/17 in 7 overs at a important juncture of the match.
Mafatlal CC won the match by 154 runs and they reach the finals of the Thane Vaibhav Tournament.

SR’s after opting to bat first scored a very healthy total of 203/3 in 20 overs thanks to their batsman Yogesh Poojary and Pramod Nayak coming up with crucial half centuries. Pramod scored an aggressive 37 ball 63 while Yogesh was equally dangerous hitting some good shots en-route his brilliant 32 ball 62 which pushed the team towards a healthy total.
CCD in reply did manage to put up a fight but eventually they managed to score 174/7 in 20 overs. Aashish Yadav’s spell of 4/30 in 4 overs proved to be quite beneficial for his team as SR’s won the match by 29 runs.
