Mumbai team opting to bat first at Sachin Tendulkar Gymkhana scored a very healthy total of 351/10 in 103.2 overs. Raj Desmukh who has been in excellent form scored a solid 84 runs off 138 balls while Aditya Rawat top scored with 92 runs off 157 balls. Aayush Vartak coming at no.6 scored 62 runs which proved to be quite handy at the middle order.

Baroda in reply were all out for 121 runs thanks to a great bowling spell by left-arm spinner Zenith Sachdev who bagged 5/46 in 19.3 overs (5 overs).  Baroda receiving a follow on were again all out for 173 runs as Anurag Singh came to the show taking 7/54 with his impressive left arm spin. Anurag bowled 24 overs with 5 maidens.

U14 Mumbai won the match by 57 runs and innings thanks to their talented left arm spinners who changed the game with their tight bowling.

Sind SC after opting to bat first at Cross Maidan managed to put up a big total on the board scoring 526/10 in 89.3 overs. The top order chipped in with good knocks but it was Ishan Mulchandani at no.4 converting his knock into a big hundred. Ishan who has scored some impressive knocks this season continued to impress going on to score a brilliant 175 off 141 balls laced with 18 fours and 2 sixes.

Ishan was also a part of a 247 run stand with Chinmay Sutar who went on to score an equally impressive 114 off 91 balls (8 fours, 5 sixes) at no.5

Muslim United SC in reply were all out for 225 runs with every bowler chipping in with wickets and tight bowling spells as Sind SC won the match by 301 runs.

Dadar Union after being made to bat first at Poisar PDTSA made a mammoth total of 555/9 dec in 902 overs. Despite a few early wickets, Opener Divyansh Saxena scored a solid 52 along while Karan More at no.4 changing the game with a big knock!

Coming at no.4, Karan went on to score a swashbuckling 274* off 239 balls which had 35 fours and 4 sixes to his name. It was probably a whopping start to the tournament as Karan displayed some amazing batting showing his appetite for big knocks. Brijesh Gharat (82) & Atul Singh (50) also came up with crucial knocks.

Palghar Dahanu PDTSA were bundled out for 103 runs while fast bowler Aquib Qureshi who had recently bowled a Yorker of the season came up with a impressive spell of 4/22 in 9 overs.

Dadar Union won the match by 453 runs while Karan More stamped his presence with a massive double century.

 

Played at the Ravenshar University Campus, Veer Bahadur Singh University after being made to bat first scored 293/5 in 45 overs. Opener Mukun Mridulkar top scored the innings for his team scoring 107 off 118 balls.

University of Mumbai on the other hand chased down the score successfully as their openers Karan Shah and Rudra Dhanday gave a flying start to the innings. Hard hitter Karan smashed a brutal 43 ball 86 which had 9 fours and 7 sixes while Rudra Dhanday scoring 130 off mere 80 balls. Rudra smashed 19 fours and 3 sixes en-route his swashbuckling knock helping his team win the match by 7 wkts.

It was a well fought match with both the sides giving a tough fight while Rudra and Karan keep on stamping their presence with their impressive batting.

Zooter International School Dad’s Tournament witnessed a lopsided knockout match that was played between BD Smashers and AIS Spark on February 9 at RCF Sports Club, Mumbai. Winning the toss and electing to bat first, BD Smashers packed a punch by putting up a daunting 223-7 in 20 overs. Riding on opening batsman Suchit Shah’s (61 off 40; 4*7 and 6*1) fabulous batting display, BD Smashers piled up a mammoth score. With the ball for AIS Spark, Abhishek Javeri and Rajesh Saluja picked up two wickets apiece. Between the two, Saluja (2-40) was on the expensive side, whereas right arm medium pacer Javeri (2-28) was economical. Opening the bowling for AIS Spark, Abhishek tried to pitch in right line and length to tame the blitzkrieg of BD Smashers.

224 was always going to be a difficult target to chase. Opening the batting for AIS Spark, Abhishek Javeri (63 off 46; 4*3 and 6*3) was the solitary warrior as he held on to the innings till the 13th over. However against the run of play he fell to Ambish Shah (1-32). Rajesh Saluja (19), Harmeet Chawla (19 not out), and Aditya Saraf (17) got off to starts but failed to capitalize. AIS Spark was reduced to 147-7 in 20 overs, falling short of 76 runs, thanks to a disciplined bowling performance put up by BD Smashers. Nikhil Singhi was the pick of the bowlers for BD Smashers as he finished off his wonderful spell with figures of 2-17.

Abhishek Javeri was bestowed with the Man of the Match for his scintillating performance with both, bat and ball. Abhishek elucidated, “It was a good cricketing wicket. I could generate good bounce from it. The outfield was quick as well. The square boundaries were big, whereas the straight boundaries were relatively small. Running 2’s and 3’s was crucial. I enjoyed batting today. However would have liked to have the last laugh “.

Zooter International School Dad’s Tournament saw an interesting knockout match that was played between Mount Litera and DAIS Aces on February 9 at RCF Sports Club, Mumbai. Winning the toss and electing to field first, Mount Litera bundled out DAIS Aces for 141 in 18.3 overs. Riding on Shreepad Khedekar’s (4-23 in 3.3 overs) heroic bowling performance, Mount Litera wrecked havoc. Shwetal Sakaria and Neil Dhankani bowled well in tandem scalping two wickets apiece. The right arm medium pacer Dhankani particularly was exceptional with the ball as he bowled an economic four over spell giving away just 18 runs. For DAIS Aces, Kalp Parikh (26) and Siddharth Gopalkrishnan (27) were among the top performers.

Chasing 142 on a good batting wicket, Mount Litera achieved the target in 19.1 overs, keeping three wickets in hand. First with the ball and then with the bat, Neil Dhankani was the standout performer. The right hand bat top scored with an unbeaten 61 off just 41 balls, consisting of six boundaries and two sixes. Coming in at no. 6, Neil looked in a fantastic touch and was the protagonist of Mount Litera’s win. Rabindra Jhunjhunwala was the pick of the bowlers for DAIS Aces accounting for 2-13 in four overs.

Neil Dhankani bagged the Man of the Match for his stellar performance with both, bat and ball. Dhankani expressed, “I enjoyed bowling today. My plan was simple. It was to bowl stump to stump. Early morning start helped the bowling and as the day progressed, the pitch became good to bat on. I was timing the ball well and  was determined to bat aggressively to up the run rate. Iam elated to have contributed to my team’s win”.

 
 

Avinash Salvi Foundation after electing to bat first scored a very decent target of 172/1 in 20 overs which is quite defendable. Opening the innings, Abhigyan Kondu scored a swashbuckling 132* off 82 balls batting till the very end. Abhigyan thrashed the bowlers in every corner of the ground smashing 18 fours and 5 sixes at a healthy strike rate of 161.00!

Mumbai Sporting Union Thane in reply were all out for 84 runs with Vedant (3/11) and Aditya (2/5) being the pick of the bowlers.

It was a big win for Avinash Salvi Foundation by 88 runs while Abhigyan Kondu was declared ‘man of the match’

Mumbai Sporting Union after opting to bat first were all out for 64 runs in 16.4 overs. They suffered a batting collapse thanks to a match winning bowling spell by Shardul Dalvi who came up with impressive bowling figures of 6/15 in 3.3 overs. Shardul bamboozled the batsman and took wickets at regular intervals.

Vasant Vihar High School in return chased down the score in 14.4 overs winning the match by 6 wkts where in Shardul was declared ‘man of the match’

Santosh Sports Cricket Academy after opting to bat first scored a very healthy total of 188/3 in 20 overs. Openers Raj Patil and Shardul Khanolkar stitched an impressive opening stand of 182 runs in 115 balls. Raj scored a 54 ball 87 laced with 10 fours and 3 sixes while Shardul Khanolkar remained unbeaten till the end scoring an anchoring 88* off 66 balls (14 fours).

Thanks to some really tight bowling by the SPCA bowlers, Kalyan Sports Foundation were bundled out for 50 runs.

MG Kashi University after being made to bat first at the KIIT Ground Bhubaneshwar were all out for 218/10 in 44.5 overs. Sawan Singh with 50 off 56 balls was the highest scorer while Atif Shaikh from Mumbai team was the pick of the bowlers coming up with a brilliant spell. Atif came up with envious bowling figures of 5/47 as he kept on taking wickets at regular intervals.

Mumbai University on the other hand chased down the score in just 38.4 overs winning the match by 4 wkts with Shreeraj Gharat top scoring the innings with a match winning 64* off 68 balls.
